Careers | TheToyShop.com | The Toyshop Site

My journey with The Entertainer, started some 20 years ago, as a child, filled with wonder and amazement staring up at a wall full of Lego, it’s now my job to create that same feeling to the shoppers of today.

I started my career back in 2013 as a sales assistant, working previously in a pretty much dead-ended retail job, but suddenly I had purpose, thrown into a business that has passion for its people, its customers and its products, there is honestly no other business, quite like this business.

My role as a sales assistant was very rewarding, but I knew this is a business I’m building my career with, so I was demanding of myself and was quickly promoted to supervisor, this role is great, here my key role was to inspire others, lead by example, I always felt valued as a member of the management team and was always encouraged to strengthen my professional development, through training courses etc.

My next step was to step up to my current role as Assistant Store Manager, I love this role because it gives me a new different and fast pace challenge every day, I still get to deal with the retail side of the business, but also develop and home in my people skills, we know as a business, you… yes you, make the difference, we invest in you!

My journey doesn’t stop there, I have been given so many more opportunities, to learn more about the business or develop my skills, the most interesting one is Aim Higher, which is giving me the opportunity to help make about £2 million more for the business, this year. It’s incredible to think that little Jordan, from Luton, can make such an impact.

If you’re reading this thinking, that guy sounds like he has too much fun (you’re right I probably do!) but even as a business right now operating in one of the most challenging times as a retailer, we are demanding of ourselves, our teams and other within the business to make sure we keep pushing forward to achieving our goal.

“To be the best-loved toy shop one child, one community at time” is the main reason I come to work every morning this is all about hula hooping with grannies, having lightsabre battles or trying to decide who the best pony is in My Little Pony (my vote is Applejack!) I believe in the business, I believe in its values, I believe in good retailing. But strip all that back it is so I can make sure all kids who walk through our doors have the same sense of wonder I had 20 years ago.

Where next? There is no limit within the company, I can’t wait to see what opportunities are waiting around the next corner, my natural progression pathway would be to Store Manager, but with an everchanging environment, anything could be next, as Buzz Lightyear said TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!

Old Trafford has been waiting for 18 months. On March 8, 2020, the last match with the spectators took place here, and the stands were jubilant after the 2-0 victory at City. Despite the controversial season, TAA’s call to the England national team was not in doubt, but, as often happens in the English national team, the coach still did not call the young defender to the last games before the postponed Euro. Is he right? Three journalists from The Athletic answer three questions about this situation.

Analysis by Ilya Vasiliev. 1. The December streak without victories did not greatly affect Tottenham’s position. Jose Mourinho’s team is close to the Champions League zone, and if it adds stability, it can compete for the title. Preparations for an important match were overshadowed by the antics of Regilon, Lamela and Lo Celso – they ignored the quarantine bans, celebrating Christmas together. As a result, the Argentines were not included in the application (although Lo Celso is already injured), and the Spaniard sat down on the bench.Compared to Wolverhampton, Jose made several changes: he returned Toby Alderweireld and Steven Bergwijn to the roster, moving to …

Global Look Press

Residents of Europe, the USA and Russia have been fearing terrorist attacks on Christmas for several years.And recent events have confirmed that 2016 will be no exception.

Earlier, Islamic State militants (ISIS, IS – banned in Russia) were ordered to increase the number of terrorist attacks during the Christmas holidays. And just in the past few days, there have been about a dozen high-profile terrorist attacks organized by “opposing civilization” :
assassination of the Russian Ambassador Karlov in Ankara – the first in the history of modern Russia;
– 90,044 truck crashed into the crowd at the Christmas market in Berlin;
hostage-taking in Jordan;
– 90,044 attacks in Grozny; – IS claimed responsibility;
two acts of terrorism at a military base in Yemen – about 100 dead;
– in Turkey a bus with the military was blown up;
shooting at the US Embassy in the capital of Turkey;
Attack on the Islamic Center in Zurich.

US Department of State , US , on the eve of these attacks called on their citizens to be vigilant when traveling to Europe, although they warned that this is a standard warning during the height of the tourist season. The department noted that concern remains in connection with possible new attacks. The State Department stressed that they have reliable information according to which terrorists from Al-Qaeda, IS (banned in the Russian Federation) and their accomplices are planning attacks in European countries for Christmas and New Year.This warning is valid until February 20, 2017.

For information about the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the United States promised to pay $ 25 million.

In France, 90,045 the majority of residents (71%) fear terrorist attacks during the New Year holidays. Never before in recent years has the period of New Year’s holidays caused such strong fears for their own lives among the French. 67% of them believe that the most dangerous areas in which terrorist attacks can occur are places for celebrations, churches and shopping centers.62% of French people believe that there is a threat to their lives.

Belgium states that about 5,000 Europeans fighting on the side of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, ISIS) banned in Russia may return to their home countries during the Christmas holidays, which threatens Europe with new terrorist attacks. Belgian Interior Minister Jan Yambon said that 117 Belgians who fought in the ranks of terrorists had already returned to the country.

In Great Britain, thousand soldiers of the elite special forces of the British SAS landing, together with MI5 counterintelligence agents, will work “in the field” during Christmas and New Years.They were tasked with looking for potential and real terrorists in the festive crowd in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds. Hundreds of British citizens who fought in Syria on the side of ISIS have already begun returning to the country.

In Russia, urged Russians who are going to spend Christmas in Europe to avoid public places due to the threat of terrorist attacks. “There is a clear threat of terrorist attacks from terrorists. The warnings made by the US authorities are well-grounded.Residents of Russia who travel to Europe at Christmas should first of all think about whether it is worth being in public places and participating in events there, “said the deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Franz Klintsevich on the air of the NTV channel. “to celebrate the holidays at home”, reports TASS.

The first murder of an ambassador in the history of modern Russia

On Monday evening in Ankara Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov was killed , who was establishing contacts with the Syrian opposition.According to eyewitnesses, an armed man burst into the premises of the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Ankara, where the opening of a photo exhibition was held, at which the ambassador spoke.

The offender shot the diplomat several times in the back. Three Turkish citizens were also injured, and the attacker himself was soon eliminated. It was soon revealed that the attack was carried out by the 22-year-old policeman Mevlut Mert Altintash.

Ankara and Moscow stated that the purpose of the assassination attempt was to undermine Russian-Turkish relations and the settlement of the Syrian conflict.

Karlov’s murder was committed during the period of restoration of bilateral ties after several months of aggravated relations and on the eve of the meeting of the Foreign and Defense Ministers of the Russian Federation, Turkey and Iran in Moscow, where the situation in Syria is expected to be discussed on Tuesday.

Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan agreed to jointly investigate the attack, a group of experts from Russia will fly to Turkey.

Turkish media suggest that the shooter may be associated with supporters of the preacher Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara considers the organizer of the July coup attempt in the country.

And CNN sources believe that Altintash may be associated with the terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra (banned in Russia, now called Jebhat Fath al-Sham). This, they said, is indicated by the slogans shouted by the killer.

Five people have already been detained in the case of Karlov’s murder, including Altintash’s parents and sister.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday evening met in the Kremlin with the heads of the Foreign Ministry, SVR and FSB Sergei Lavrov, Sergei Naryshkin and Alexander Bortnikov.He called the assassination of the ambassador a provocation aimed at disrupting the normalization of Russian-Turkish relations and the peace process in Syria. Putin instructed to strengthen the security of Turkish diplomatic missions in the Russian Federation and stressed the need to obtain Ankara’s guarantees regarding the security of Russian diplomatic missions.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case, qualifying the murder of Karlov as an act of international terrorism.

The UN Security Council adopted a statement in which it called the attack a terrorist attack and called for the search and prosecution of performers, organizers and sponsors.

US Secretary of State John Kerry has expressed his willingness to help in the investigation of the “dastardly attack” on the Russian diplomat, and President-elect Donald Trump has strongly condemned the assassination, according to him, by a “radical Islamic terrorist.” The White House has officially expressed solidarity with Russia and Turkey in its intention to counter terrorism in all its forms.

Andrey Karlov was 62 years old. He became ambassador to Turkey in the summer of 2013, before that he held the post of ambassador to the DPRK (from 2001 to 2006), was deputy head and head of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry (from 2007 to 2013).

The boundary between High and Low Britain runs roughly southwestward from Newcastle at the Tyne estuary to Exeter at the Aix estuary in south Devon. This border is not clearly defined everywhere, and often the transitions between High and Low Britain are smoothed out. In general, the relief of the country is so diverse that, driving in one direction for more than an hour, you cross several different landscapes.
