43 Popular Korean Slang In 2020 That Will Make You An Insider Instantly

Popular Korean slang in 2020

Korean slang terms emerge every day through social networking sites (SNS), gaming live streams, variety shows, and vlogs. These context-specific terms come and go easily, making it difficult to catch on especially if you aren’t an avid SNS user.

Therefore, we have sieved through many Korean SNS accounts to narrow down 43 popular Korean slang terms in 2020 that will make you a true-blue in-ssa (인싸, insider) instantly.

1. 인스피리언스족 (in-seu-pi-ri-eon-seu-jok)

This is a Konglish term derived by combining the English words “indoor”, “inspired” and “experience”. The word “(jok) translates to “tribe” and refers to the people who engage in “insperiences”.

The term “insperiences” was coined recently, when COVID-19 forced people to stay indoors and find new ways of entertaining themselves while social distancing. This inspired people to adapt activities that require you to leave the house into indoor experiences. Examples include setting up a home theatre to watch movies, building a gym at home, and assembling a home mini-bar for drinks with an ambience.

2. 누물보 (nu-mul-bo)

This term is derived from “ 사람있어?” (nugu-mulleo-bon-saram-isseo), which translates to “Did anyone ask?”

Nu-mul-bo is used to tease someone when they share something boring. It is commonly used in text with the consonants “ㄴㅁㅂ”. It is also similar to the slang term “안물안궁” (ahn-mul-ahn-gung), which means “didn’t ask, not curious”.

For example, you’d use it after doing badly for an important exam or messing up at work. It is an exaggerated way of saying “I screwed up badly”.

Hahaha vs. Hehehe | The New Yorker

I’m a big real-life laugher, and in recent years, in e-mails, chats, and texts, I’ve become a big “haha”-er. You say something hilarious, I’ll write a few “ha”s. That’s how I e-laugh. I realize that this isn’t especially dignified. My “haha”s make me look the way I do in party photos: open-mouthed, loud, a little vulgar. Writing “hahaha” makes you look deranged, but, then again, so does laughing. I’ve accepted this state of affairs, and my friends have, too, for the most part. I like a good-faith representation of how much laughing we’re doing and how hard we’re doing it. Some of my friends are above it—they don’t “ha” much or at all, which makes me self-conscious. They accept an amusing back-and-forth as a normal course of events and press on hilariously, without a lot of ha-ha goofery. I can’t do that. Even among those regal beagles, I have to laugh away.

The terms of e-laughter—“ha ha,” “ho ho,” “hee hee,” “heh”—are implicitly understood by just about everybody. But, in recent years, there’s been an increasingly popular newcomer: “hehe.” Not surprisingly, it’s being foisted upon us by youth. What does it mean?

Let’s start with the fundamentals. The basic unit of written laughter, which we’ve long known from books and comics, is “ha.” The “ha” is like a Lego, a building block, with which we can construct more elaborate hilarity. It sounds like a real laugh. Ha! The “ha” is transparent, like “said.” If you’re chatting or texting, a single “ha” means that a joke has occurred, and you’re respectfully tipping your hat to it, but that’s all it deserves. If I say something hilarious and I get one “ha,” it’s a real kick in the teeth. If I make a mild observation, a “ha” is just great.

The feel-good standard in chat laughter is the simple, classic “haha”: a respectful laugh. “Haha” means you’re genuinely amused, and that maybe you laughed a little in real life. (The singsong Nelson Muntz-style “ha ha,” of course, is completely different—we don’t do this to our friends. There’s also the sarcastic “ha ha,” a British colleague reminded me: he’s used to reading “ha ha” as “Oh, ha ha,” as in, Aren’t you a wag. “But I’m learning to read it as good,” he said. Poor guy.) “Hahaha” means that you’re really amused: now you’re cooking. More than three “ha”s are where joy takes flight. When you’re doing this, you’re laughing at your desk and your co-workers can hear you, or you’re texting with both hands, clacking and laughing away. Somebody has been naughty and fun: a scandalous remark, a zinger, a gut laugh, the high-grade stuff. If things get totally bananas, you might throw a few “j”s in there, because you’re too incapacitated by joy to type properly.

I tend to put spaces between my “ha”s, but, if I’m laughing and typing like a house afire, I leave them out. If I’m about to lose my marbles, I’ll use all caps, maybe an exclamation point, but at that point exclamation points are mostly superfluous. My phone has a “haha” autocorrect that turns a reasonably good laugh into a deranged mess—an incoherent hahhhahaahahhh or a crazy HAHAHAHAHA—and if I hit send before catching it, I send a retraction. You need to be judicious with your all-caps—honest about how violently you’re laughing and how sane you are.

There are other terms in the lexicon. “Heh” is for a sort of satisfyingly good point, a nice moment shared, with a possible hint of down-home vulgarity. “Ho ho” indicates that someone needs a mild scolding after a bad joke, as when a friend mentioned “the Genesis stuff” and I, knowing that he meant Noah’s ark, typed something about Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel. That was beneath me, and I deserved “ho ho,” or worse. (My friend who often uses a single “ha,” a “heh,” or a “ho ho” is also my friend who is most reluctant to high five. If you get a high five or a “ha ha” out of him, it’s a red-letter day. If he ever wrote “hahaha,” I’d take him to the emergency room.) “Hee hee” is cute and conspiratorial. Hee hee, we’re gossiping in the corner! Hee hee, he texted me! Hee hee, isn’t life grand! It’s similar to “tee hee,” which is extremely cute. Possibly too cute. If you’re saying “tee hee,” you’re in love, beautifully giddy, or up to no good. You might need to take it down a notch.

Then there’s the mysterious “hehe.” “Hehe” is a younger person’s e-laugh. My stepsister has used it, and she’s a person who also says “hiiii”—but, reassuringly to me, she’s also one of the best hahahahaha-ers in the business. A friend who’s in his thirties and savvy, with friends of all ages, uses “hehe.” I find it charming—he’s a perfect speller, and he’s a lively, tidy writer, and his “hehe”s are a strange mystery. I know what they mean: friendly, somewhat sneaky giggling at a shared joke. But why the single “e”?

I consider “hehe” to be the “woah” of laughter—an odd but common enough misspelling of a common term of social communication. I think it’s “hee hee,” our conspiratorial buddy, sweetly shortened to “haha” length in a slightly bizarre way. Is it more a masculine “hee hee”—literally a bunch of “he”s? Is it a squished-up “heh,” with some filigree? Is it a cross between “haha,” “hee hee,” and “heh”? I asked around.

First, I asked people my age and older. (I’m forty-two.) A TV writer said, “ ‘Hehehe’ reminds me of Scooby-Doo. Unless it’s ‘heh’ as in ‘hepatitis’?” Good point: Scooby’s laugh is a sneaky, musical series of “hee-hee”s. And he’s no speller. (I don’t think it’s heh as in “hepatitis.”) A writer and professor visiting the office said that his students use it, perplexing him. He imagines it sounding like a lofty “Hee-hee-hee!,” which, as he pronounced it, was an airy la-di-da sound that evoked brandy snifters and drollery. He, too, has to remind himself to read it as standard giggling.

Then, the nitty-gritty: the hehe-ers themselves. One user said that she thought of “hehe” as “more of an evil giggle and less of a straightforward crack-up. ” That’s definitely a hee-hee. Her friend thinks of it as “a more covert laugh” and pronounces it “heh heh,” and said that it can be “evil or private and shared.” Was it like “hee hee” and “heh heh” smashed together? I asked. Yes, it was, she said. An adventurous writer in his mid-thirties agreed that it was a mischievous laugh, pronounced “heh heh,” and said that he uses it to indicate that he’s being “super-casual,” and as a “sort of knot to tie off a back-and-forth exchange.” If he senses that there’s a “small amount of awkwardness” in the exchange, he uses “hehehe” to dissolve it or to inoculate both parties against it. He waved his hands around while describing this, and I imagined a baker using frosting to cover imperfections in a cake.

My savvy friend whose use of “hehe” provoked all these questions said that “hehe” is one of his favorite words. He pronounces it “heh heh,” to indicate mild amusement “without having to resort to emoticons, LOLs, or ROTFLs.” He said that “haha” indicates “more serious amusement,” and adds extra “ha”s for “more serious mirth. ” He wrote, “There is no such thing as “hehehe” in my vocab, though.” Noted.

Another young “hehe”-er thinks that it’s “hee-hee,” doesn’t know where he picked it up, and enjoys that it helps him avoid older terms like “hahaha” and “LOL.” “Have to keep things updated,” he wrote me in a chat.

That’s just what I’d suspected and feared: while I’m ha-ha-ing my way into middle age, younger people have coined a new laugh. Good for them. They’re “heh-heh”ing to professors who hear “hee-hee”ing; they’re being conspiratorial with fortysomethings confused by the terms of the conspiracy. I’m just glad we’re all having a good time. If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to watch “Hee Haw.”

what and how it works / Habr

Surely many have noticed problems with the readings of the built-in clock. Someone may have noticed oddities with the display of the time related to SMS. This is especially noticeable immediately after the days when in many countries there is a transition to winter or summer time.

To understand how it all works, you need to dig a little bit into the architecture. Let’s try to figure out why such problems can occur, what affects the time readings, and what can be done if the phone suddenly starts showing the wrong time.

Standard time

I will not talk about what geographic and administrative “time zones” or “time zones”, as it is now called in Federal Law No. 107-FZ of 2011 “On the Calculation of Time”, are, because it is on the Wiki.

From this basic information, it is important to remember that the difference between the standard time and the “universal” (UTC) (in everyday life, equivalent to “Greenwich” – GMT) is the result of purely administrative actions of the authorities. What difference the authorities will appoint for a particular locality, so it will be. Let’s try to first understand the functions of time processing in network equipment.

Time and SMS

In a text message sent from the phone (SMS-SUBMIT), there is no space for time information at all.

Only at the moment a message arrives at the SMS center does it acquire a time stamp field – TP-Service-Center-Time-Stamp (TP-SCTS), consisting of 7 octets with rearranged semi-octets (GSM 03.40, TS 23.040) and represent information in binary-coded decimal code (BCD), that is, each semi-octet encodes one digit.

The first 6 octets represent the year, month, day, hour, minutes, and seconds of the sender’s local time.
The seventh octet contains information about the time zone, and indicates the difference between local time and UTC (GMT). The unit of measurement of the time difference is the 15 minute interval, and the third bit (the most significant in the right half-octet) indicates the algebraic sign of the difference (“0” is positive, “1” is negative).
Daylight Saving Time should be included in the value of the time zone information. For example, in the UK, the time zone octet value is 00000000b (UTC + 00: 00) during winter time, and 01000000b (4 x 15 minutes, i.e. UTC + 01: 00) during summer time.

In the structure of a short message delivered to the recipient’s phone (SMS-DELIVER), information about the time of message arrival at the SMS center is already present, and can be used by the phone when displaying information about the message to the user.

What information about the current time the mobile network can communicate to the telephone

In 1996, in the GSM specifications (GSM 02.42, 04.08, etc.), there were tools that allow cellular operators to deliver information about the date, time and time zone to phones. To this end, the signaling messages for Mobility Management contain several information elements that can be used by the operator at their discretion, since they are optional.

First of all, this is information element “Time Zone and Time” IE . It contains the entire set of data (year, month, day, hour, minutes and seconds) indicating the moment when the network transmits the signaling message, as well as a value indicating the time zone in which the base station is located.
The values of the year, month, day, hour, minutes and seconds, as in the case of SMS, are transmitted in BCD encoding with permutation of semi-octets, but unlike the time stamp of the SMS center, they indicate universal time (UTC), not local!

The part of the information element indicating the time zone is transmitted in the same encoding as in the case of the time stamp of the SMS center.

This is what a block of information looks like, transmitted to the phone at a particular moment in time:

Octet value / interpretation
47 Code indicating that there are 7 octets of IE "Time Zone and Time" next
11 YEAR: 11
20 MONTH: 02
71 DAY: 17
70 HOUR: 07
71 MINUTE: 17
30 SECOND: 03
21 TIME ZONE: 12 = GMT + 03: 00
49 Code indicating that IE goes "Daylight Saving Time"
01 Length of IE "Daylight Saving Time" = 1 octet
00 A value indicating no daylight saving time offset

Since the network transmits UTC in this information element, in order for the phone to display the local time, it must adjust UTC to a value corresponding to the offset time in the time zone in which the phone is located. In this particular case, the case took place in Moscow, even before the adoption of the law “On the calculation of time” and the abolition of the transition to winter time.

Thus, the time transmitted by the network corresponded to 10 hours 17 minutes and 3 seconds in the morning Moscow time on February 17, 2011. For comparison, a block of information transmitted to the phone recently:

Octet value / interpretation
47 Code indicating that 7 octets follow IE "Time Zone and Time"
21 YEAR: 12
40 MONTH: 04
81 DAY: 18
80 HOUR: 08
45 MINUTE: 54
44 SECOND: 44
61 TIME ZONE: 16 = GMT + 04: 00
49 Code indicating that IE goes "Daylight Saving Time"
01 Length of IE "Daylight Saving Time" = 1 octet
00 Value indicating no daylight savings time offset
This information was transmitted in Moscow at 12:54:44 on 18 April 2012.

In addition to the “Time Zone and Time” information element, the specifications also provide a separate 8-bit information element intended for transmitting information only about the time zone ( “Time Zone” IE ).

Information in it is encoded in the same way as the value of the time zone in the mark of the SMS center.
However, it doesn’t make much sense to transmit “Time Zone” along with “Time Zone and Time”.

There is also a separate information element ( “Daylight Saving Time” IE ) which, if transmitted, indicates the value of the time offset caused by the use of “daylight saving time” that was taken into account when calculating the value of the time zone field.

A particular value may indicate no shift (“00b”), a shift of +1 hour (“01b”), and a shift of even +2 hours (“10b”).

According to the GSM / 3GPP specifications, the time information must be delivered to the mobile phone as soon as possible, when the phone is registered in the network, the time zone changes, or the transition to summer or winter time is performed.

Thus, using the means described above, the network can supply telephones with all the information necessary to correctly set and display the current time, as well as the time associated with short messages.

But, in accordance with the provisions of the standards, the use of this information is assumed exclusively at the discretion of the manufacturer of the telephone .

However, users may experience some problems for reasons that are completely or partially independent of the phones and their manufacturers.

For example, an SMS center serving several time zones must take into account the time at the location of the sending telephone. Otherwise, the time of sending the SMS will be recorded with an error equal to the time difference in the time zones where the SMS center and the sending phone are located. In areas located near the boundaries of time zones, the operator must ensure that base stations transmit the value of the time zone in which the base stations are located. Of course, operators take these considerations into account when planning and configuring the network.

However, due to radio propagation laws, operators cannot fully guarantee the correctness of the time information delivered to the phone. After all, a phone located near the administrative boundary of time zones can receive signals and use information about the date and time from base stations located in the neighboring time zone and transmitting the corresponding information.

For the same reason, the SMS center may incorrectly determine the time zone where the phone is actually located, if the SMS was transmitted through a base station located in a neighboring time zone.

In addition, short-term problems are potentially possible due to the fact that the software of the network equipment and SMS-centers will automatically perform the transition to summer / winter time, contrary to the new Russian realities, or was incorrectly configured at the time of commissioning. But such “nuances” are usually quickly corrected by service personnel.

Other sources of information about time and place

There are other channels for delivering information about the date, time and place of stay to mobile phones.

Many phones have navigator functionality and can use time and location information from positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS, etc.).

Phones (tablets) connected to the Internet can use additional information about the time using NTP or SNTP, as well as information about the location of the binding of public IP addresses.
Along with manual time and time zone settings, such an abundance of initial information in some cases can cause problems for the phone with a choice – what information about time and location to use.

How telephones use time information

In phones, clocks first appeared in a fairly simple configuration – they simply showed the time on the display. In case of moving or changing the time to summer or winter, it was enough just to change the clock in accordance with the new realities.

Naturally, the possibility of manually setting the parameters of the date and time in the phones is retained at the present time.

In manual setting, the user himself enters the current date, time and location (time zone) and is himself responsible for the correctness of the information entered.

It would seem that everything is simple and unambiguous?
But even in the manual setting, problems may arise if the phone software has an incorrect correspondence between the time zone and the city that the user specified as his location.

If you use an incorrect value for the time zone, later, when moving to another city / country and correspondingly changing the value of the time zone, you may find that the time in the phone differs from the real administrative time in the new location.

As the performance of processors and the capacity of memory elements increased, phones began to build in more and more complex functions related to time, dates and the calendar.

And now the situation with the automatic mode of setting the date and time looks much more interesting.
If the GSM / UMTS mobile network, in which the phone is registered, does not transmit information about the current date and time, then the phone should seem to display the data entered by the user in manual mode, despite the fact that the automatic mode is set. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the developers of some models can use information from positioning systems or from the Internet.

In cases where the operator transmits information about the date, time and time zone in the signaling traffic, the most logical way out would be to use this information – to display the local time, calculated based on the UTC values received from the operator and the time zone shift.

However, in practice, some manufacturers (their software developers) began to show not always reasonable initiative in attracting other sources of information. For example, it was noticed that in the automatic time correction mode, some models for some reason, instead of the information about the time zone transmitted by the network, use the value set by the user in the manual setting mode!

Due to the change in the time zones in the Russian Federation in accordance with the Federal Law No. 107-FZ of 2011 “On the Calculation of Time”, in the phones, the software of which was developed earlier, the data on the time zones of many Russian cities have now become incorrect. As a result, if such a phone, instead of the information about the time zone received from the network, uses the value set in the manual settings, the time may be displayed incorrectly.

Obviously, the phone manufacturer should deal with the correction of such errors, which is responsible for the use of the information received from the operator by the standards.
However, in the face of tough competition, manufacturers, striving to ensure the release of more and more new models, rather quickly stop making changes to the software of previously released models.

In such cases, manual setting of the time zone value adjusted in accordance with the above Federal Law may help.

For example, for Moscow, you can set not the old value UTC + 03: 00, but UTC + 04: 00, regardless of the name of the city (for example, Baku, Yerevan or Tbilisi).

Some older telephones may display incorrect time due to the fact that they interpret the time value received from the network as local time and not universal time. Obviously, in this case, only the manufacturer could fix the problem by developing a new version of the software. True, it is difficult to hope for that either.

There are also known problems with some models with the interpretation of the time of sending SMS. Receiving phone receives information in SMS about the local time and time zone in which the sending phone was located on one side, as well as from the UTC value network and time zone at the place where the SMS was received.

Further, the recipient phone can do with this information everything that the manufacturer intended – how it will process all this information before showing it to the owner, the standards attributed solely to the area of responsibility of the phone manufacturer.

Unfortunately, the software developers of some models made mistakes when processing the SMS sending time parameters, and they mislead the user.

Without pretending to be an exhaustive description of all possible problems with time display, I tried to describe the mechanisms, knowledge of which can help to understand the causes of the problem in a particular case and find an acceptable solution.

Your list has more chats and green check marks. One is asked to be sent in a second after the update. Price means that it has been successfully delivered to the WhatsApp server. Another green check mark means that the program on the phone has been connected to the server and has successfully cleared your domain.

Important: two green check marks will appear to mean that it has been delivered to the addressee’s phone, but it does not mean that it has been read. For yogo yogo zzumіli.

Well, as soon as you send it to the group chat, it will not be seen about delivery to the phone.

If I don’t want to wait for an hour to see my contacts

If you activate the “nichto” function and if you don’t want to show your status to others, you will not be able to bachiti, if it stinks online. Shchob bachiti status “online” or “buv in fancy”, you will be able to turn on the service “nichto”.

If you are interested in a specific subscriber, you can be banned from a new subscriber in the list of contacts.Don’t worry and read the rest of the story.

Sp_vrozmovnik having read about it, ale the sound about reading it. It can be a vipadka, as a sponsor to use push notifications for WhatsApp. If you want to play the text on a locked screen, if you don’t have a locked phone, then you’ll get “unread”.

As soon as you see it, only this part will appear. Most of the time on the iPhone.

As soon as I asked for it, two blank check marks appeared, see what it means.

If you block the koristuvach, why should you know about it?

Singing, you can’t know how to win. However, you can send your message to your post and read the next point. Ale and todi do not know for a song. So you say “ni”.

Yaksho vy back the service, which for SMS or no-mail will send you to read the list in WhatsApp, tikat. The whole scam, and more than SMS, tim more and not a sucker.

Yak diznatisya, why am I blocking from the sp_vrozmovnik?

D_znatisya tse melodiously can be deprived of wondering at the phone of the sp_vrozmovnik. Well, if it’s blocking you, it might be a big reason not to give you a phone. Є kilka sign that you can vkazuvati on those who are blocked:

  • do not update the photo to the profile of the spy dealer
  • Not always about the delivery to your phone
  • the online status of the subscriber is not visible

There are three options with great ymovirnistyu can vkazuvati, for those who have noticed and blocked you, or if they know the program and do not repent of it.

I also recommend you to read about those Palestinian hackers who hacked the WhatsApp site.

Why is WhatsApp in Uzbekistan not working?

In Uzbekistan, do not wait for the last hour to support and discard media files through watsap. Sprinkle it with humor. Try not to be surprised.

WhatsApp phone calls are also available

Now you can call WhatsApp, read more in the statistics.

I don’t know if there are no mobile calls in WhatsApp, for that there’s no way.You can make a call without koshtovno, you can use Viber or Line. To the extreme, Skype. The vatsapi only have the function of exchanging voices.

Yak to read the correspondence in WhatsApp

Jealous lads and girls can spare three hours and read the last point: it is not a pity for people to correspond with people in WhatsApp. Anyone who doesn’t have a phone in his hands.

If you really want to keep your boyfriend’s correspondence in WhatsApp, become a programmer, choose C # and XMPP, write overload traffic for wi-fi, master yourself for a good robot, learn more. And if you want to know what kind of boy / girl you can do.

Chi є for WhatsApp API

Access for third-party supplements, and therefore, alternative clientele for WhatsApp is not available. With the purchase of Facebook on Facebook, the chances for api to appear have become even less.

Looks like those without special WhatsApp come with a lot of uvagi. If you want to criticize this software often, you need to read it properly: the dirks in the new “patch” are better than in OpenSSL.

Yak zlamati WhatsApp

Niyak, and the axis of what: WhatsApp has no visible authorization for a username / password, the system uses the XMPP protocol.Theoretically, it is possible to be angry (and the deeds were already successfully robbed), but all the dicks are constantly patched up, so social engineering will help you.

I wrote earlier about the evils of WhatsApp as a Dutch student.

The easiest way to read something else is to ask you to read it or deceive you to deny access. Yak kolis robiv Kevin Mitnik.

And even more beautiful than vitrachati the hour is better. Read fewer new and more books.

Sometimes errors can occur in the program. In order to understand why Vatsap does not send a video, why this happened and how to solve it, read the materials of this article.

Why WhatsApp may not send video

There are many reasons why WhatsApp may not send video. The most common variants of the error are as follows:

  • The Internet connection has been broken, the data transfer rate has decreased, and the Internet device has malfunctioned.
  • On the device through which you use WhatsApp (phone, tablet, laptop, PC), the time and date are lost or incorrectly set.
  • There is a problem with the device’s memory.
  • Problems with the SD card: there is not enough memory on the SD card, operation with the memory card is selected in read mode, the SD card is damaged.

Possible solutions to the problem

In order to check whether the Internet connection is active and whether its speed is sufficient, simple manipulations can be performed. On the device, launch a browser and try to load any Internet page. You can also try connecting to a different internet source.

If you have set the wrong date and time, then you should fix this so that there are no problems during the transfer of media files. On a mobile device, you need to go to the settings in the “Date and time” section. On a PC or laptop, you can either go to personal settings, or on the taskbar, right-click on the Clock icon and select the Time settings section.

Problems with the memory card will occur when files are saved to it. To check and troubleshoot your SD card, proceed as follows:

  1. Check if your card has enough memory space. Otherwise, i.e. if it is full, WhatsApp messenger will not be able to save files. To free up memory. You will need to delete unnecessary or obsolete files.
  2. Check the SD card is not installed in read-only mode.In order to check this, try saving information to an external drive from another program. If it succeeded, then the mode is disabled, in which case it will be possible to save the files through WhatsApp. If saving failed, then you need to change the mode. You can read the instructions on how to do this in the materials of the user manual.
  3. If you have enough memory, files from WhatsApp may still not be saved. Therefore, you will need to remove this program from the memory card.
  4. Before deleting, it is worth considering that backup data, message history, downloaded files will be destroyed. In order to delete WhatsApp data from SD card, you will need:

  5. Back up all messenger data and save it on another device.
  6. On a PC, you need to open the memory card folder and delete the WhatsApp folder, then all media files will be erased.
  7. The phone will need to restart.

If all of the above options with the SD card did not help, then it is faulty.Try to format it, just keep in mind that this leads to the destruction of all data on the card.

You have been using Vatsap for a long time, but you still do not know everything about it? This is easy to fix. Here are collected questions that are often asked by their support service and they are tired of answering them.

How do I know if my message has been read

There are green check marks next to each message in your message list. One appears next to the message a second after sending. This means that the message has been successfully delivered to the WhatsApp server. The second green check mark means that the program on the recipient’s phone is connected to the server and has successfully received your message.

Important: two green check marks next to a message mean that it has been delivered to the recipient’s phone, but do not mean that it has been read. Or understood.

Well, if you are sending a message to a group chat, the delivery notification will not be displayed on your phone.

Why can’t I see the last visit time of contacts

If you activate the “nobody” function and do not want to show others your online status, you will not be able to see when they were last online. To see the “online” or “was online” status, you will have to deactivate the “nobody” service.

If it concerns a specific subscriber, you can be banned from him in the contact list. Don’t be discouraged and read on to find out if this is the case.

The interlocutor read the message, but there is no read receipt

It happens that your message has been read, but you will not see a notification about it.This may be the case if your contact is using push notifications for WhatsApp. If he sees a message on the locked screen, but does not unlock the phone, it will remain “undeliverable” to the phone.

If the message is long, only part of it is displayed in the notification. This happens most often on the iPhone.

Nobody knows what free calls to WhatsApp are, because they are not there. To call for free, you can use Viber or Line.As a last resort, Skype. The watsap only has a voice messaging function.

7. Recover deleted messages

It does not matter why the messages were deleted – as a result of some kind of failure or simply due to your negligence. The main thing is that in most cases deleted messages can be recovered.

WhatsApp automatically creates backups daily and stores them on your phone’s MicroSD card. So uninstall and then reinstall WhatsApp.The messenger will offer you to restore your message history, and all you need to do is click on the “Restore” button.

8. Protect WhatsApp with a password

Some things are not meant for prying eyes, one of these things is your WhatsApp messages. If you know that some of your friends or family members love to rummage through your private messages, then the best solution is to password protect WhatsApp.

There are applications that will help hide your correspondence from prying eyes. For example, ChatLock.

Hello! If – NOBODY – is marked in the privacy settings, the time of the last visit, albeit a long time ago, will be reflected in the status? Why can’t I see the online status of all my contacts if I haven’t changed anything in the settings?

What does the status connected in Whatsapp mean – the online display indicates that the person is currently active in the messenger. After all, this position displays when the user was on the Whatsapp network with an accuracy of 10 minutes! This can be for some undermining the reputation, caught in a lie, etc.e. Also, the inscription online means – the contact is available for communication, but this does not mean that he will be happy to reply to messages.

If in Votsap it is not visible when a person logged in for the last time, he has the Hide Status program or similar installed. You can find such utilities without any problems in the Google Play Market or download the installation file from other sources.

Online status in Whatsapp

In some variants, the time range can be set.How to enable Whatsapp online status in Hide Status – just click the “deactivated” button. Inside WhatsApp there are privacy settings that allow you to restrict who can see the time of the last visit. If your account restricts the indication of the visit time, then you also do not see the statuses of other users.

The contact was online today at 13.40 Moscow time, and a couple of minutes later the old record was again that he was there on March 25 at 9.00 Moscow time. What does this mean? If you use the application from a computer, that is, from a browser, will other users see the time of my last visit? Hello! As you know, in the WhatsApp contacts, a photo is displayed that the person has put on himself. So, recently in one of the contacts, the photo suddenly changed to what I have on it in my phone, in the phone book.

How to Read WhatsApp Conversations

By the way, the time of the visit is no longer visible to me. What does this dress mean, tell me? Could this indicate that a person’s WhatsApp has “flown off”, as an option ?! Perhaps the person just deleted their Whatsapp profile picture. Hello! I can’t change my status and set my profile picture on Whatsapp. Hey! The first is probably a problem in the work of the WhatsApp-technical work.I know for sure that the person did not use Whatsapp during the day, as he was at work and was busy all the time without stopping.

If a user is blocked, will he know about it

The messenger works in the background, if the Internet is available, it writes that the subscriber is available. Good day! Please tell me which program you can use to check the last visit to WhatsApp. If a person hides it in the WhatsApp settings ??? Hello. One of the contacts has the same last visit time for a long time. What does it mean?

How to find out if my contact is blocked at the interlocutor

I don’t quite understand what you mean. Explain in more detail, please. And the sms sent remain with one gray checkmark (do not reach). Does this mean that I am on the black list. Hello! Tell me, please, for no reason at all does not show anyone the time of the visit. A person visits Whatsapp every day, but I only see his visit a very long time ago.

And in my contacts it is reflected that it is connected.Hello! Please tell me: what does it mean when the subscriber hid the time of his last visit, but I can still sometimes see that he is online. Is this some kind of mistake or is it something completely different? Good afternoon. I have such a situation …. I did not set the privacy settings, and the other contact does not show the time of my last visit (and it is me), how can this be ?????

Does WhatsApp have API

How is it that the status is shown in WhatsApp “was (s) in ……”, but the status of previously delivered messages remains unread? Good day! A friend has Whatsapp installed, his number is recorded in my contacts.I want to send him a message, I go to Whatsaap on my phone, but his contact is not displayed there. Tell me, what could this be related to?

The person is on my blacklist, but sometimes I see him visits, the rest of the time it is empty. What determines such a selective reflection of the visit time? If the person was already added by me, then the visit should not always be displayed, but it, although sometimes, is still reflected.

The last visit to whom I wrote at 14 o’clock, and my message was read at 17 o’clock.I was temporarily blocked? There is one tick, after a while (it may be an hour later) – two. What does this mean: setting privacy or being blocked from time to time? Are there any other ways to see your last visit time? If the interlocutor has an iPhone, he can simply turn off the visibility online and then all his contacts will not be able to know about his status.

Hello. Please tell me, I blocked a contact in WhatsApp, why do I continue to see the time of his last visit? That is the whole answer to the question: why hide the time of the last visit in Votsap. If it concerns a specific subscriber, you can be banned from him in the contact list.

If you don’t like the idea of read receipts, then this feature can be turned off for all messages in WhatsApp. The downside of this solution is that WhatsApp will stop showing read receipts for the messages you send (apparently, in fairness).

Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots in the upper right corner, then select “Settings” => “Account” => “Privacy” and uncheck the box “Read receipts”.

Turn off the Internet or Airplane mode

In order to prevent WhatsApp from sending a notification that a message has been read, before opening it, you can turn off the Internet on your smartphone (Wi-FI, mobile Internet, or just turn on the “Airplane” mode). This will prevent WhatsApp from connecting to the server and sending a read receipt. Please note that WhatsApp will most likely send such a notification as soon as Internet access is restored.

And this is like an important quote or any important text, warning or announcement, for some reason, everything is always designed like someone’s quote.

You can try the following method to solve this problem: after you have read the message, exit the dialogue. In the chat list, touch and hold the desired one until the menu appears. Select Mark as Unread and turn off Airplane Mode. The status of messages within the chat and their chronological sequence will not change. This function is more used to ensure that the user does not forget to return to the desired conversation if he does not have the opportunity to reply to some message at the moment when he read it.

Desktop widget for Android

The next alternative way to keep WhatsApp read receipts and keep the Internet connection is unfortunately available only to Android users. To read a message on WhatsApp without the sender knowing about it, you can view the message through a special WhatsApp widget.

This method seemed to us the simplest and most effective solution, which allows you to read long messages (checked, they are displayed in full!) So that the interlocutors to whom you do not want to reply right away will not see that you have read the message. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to view a photo, video or listen to a voice message in this way – the widget only supports text and emoticons.

To add a WhatsApp widget to your Android smartphone screen, tap and hold on a blank area of the screen for a couple of seconds. Then select “Widgets”. In the list that opens, find the WhatsApp widget by flipping through the pages with widgets and tap it. In the window that appears, find the “WhatsApp 4 x 2” widget, then tap and drag it to the desired location on the phone screen.

Photo Heading

Notification panel

And finally, let’s say a few words about the most obvious way to read a message on WhatsApp without the other person knowing about it. Just do not open it, but look in the notification panel. Usually a small part of the message is displayed there. However, if you accidentally touch the notification, WhatsApp will open and the messages will be marked as read.

Even the best application sometimes has bugs that prevent the user from interacting with it.For messengers, such a bug is disappearing friends. It often happens that a user opens WhatsApp to write a message to his friend, but cannot do it, because the person in question has disappeared or the “Contacts” tab is completely empty – no photos or names. This means that WhatsApp cannot see contacts. Why it happens? And how can this be fixed?

Why are contacts disappearing?

Before repairing a breakdown, you need to understand its causes. This will help avoid problems in the future.Every time WhatsApp starts, it connects to the phone’s address book and pulls data from it. Accordingly, if for some reason he cannot connect to it, then friends are not displayed in the list.

Sometimes the problem also arises if the application manages to take data from the phone book, but it cannot process the information it contains, since the data was entered with an error.

Universal solutions to problems with the list of friends

If your Vatsap stopped seeing contacts, then try 2 universal tools – updating the list and displaying hidden numbers.

Updating the list helps in cases when the messenger did not manage to pull up the numbers stored in the phone on its own. To do this, start the Watsap application, go to the “Contacts” tab, open the menu and select “Refresh”

Now check your friends in the messenger. Often after that, the missing subscribers are pulled up.

To show hidden numbers, follow 4 simple steps:
Step 1. Go to “Contacts” and by pressing the button in the form of three dots, open the “Settings” menu.

Step 2. Find the “Contacts” submenu (next to it there is an icon in the form of two people).

Step 3. Check the All contacts box.

Step 4. Wait until the data is updated and click “OK”.

In most cases, these simple steps are sufficient to solve the problem. But if that didn’t help, let’s figure it out further.

What if all friends disappeared?

Imagine that you have opened WhatsApp, and there is not a single person in your friends list.In this case, the first thing to do is check your phone’s address book. If everything is in order there and the numbers are in place, and the universal solution does not work, try updating WhatsApp.

Perhaps the whole point is that your version is simply outdated, and because of this, the system is buggy and no contacts are visible.

To update the messenger, go to your AppStore (GooglePlay – for Android, AppleStore – for iOS) and see if the update is out for WhatsApp or not. To do this in GooglePlay, you must first go to the main menu.

And then – select the submenu “My applications and games” in it.

This will open access to the list of applications installed on your device, under each of which there will be information about the availability of updates – the words “Update” or “Installed”. If there is an update, try installing it. Most likely, after that the contacts will appear again.

WhatsApp does not see a specific contact

Consider a situation when not all contacts have disappeared, but a specific one. There are several cases in which this is possible.

  • The subscriber no longer uses Vacap. A specific person may disappear from the list if he stopped using the messenger and deleted it from his device. In this case, you will not return the contact in any way until the user decides to put WhatsApp on their phone again.
  • Error in the number. Sometimes, due to an error of one or two digits (especially in the country code), Watsap may not see a specific user. Open the list of contacts in your phone and check if the number of the required subscriber is spelled correctly.
