Waterproof pens and paper: What to Write With on Waterproof and All-Weather Paper

What to Write With on Waterproof and All-Weather Paper

Here are two of our popular spiral notebooks, made with coated wood pulp paper. They can be written on with either a pen or a pencil.

The Best Writing Implements

The best implements for writing on waterproof paper and all-weather paper are:

  • Standard ballpoint pens of medium width
  • Pencils that have a hard, broad lead
  • Sharpie permanent markers and pens

Each of these can be put to excellent use, but there are a few limitations. We explain the merits and limitations of each below.

Writing With Pens:

The best pens to use when writing on waterproof paper are standard ballpoint pens with a medium width point. Standard ballpoint pens work fine, but some people prefer to use a pen that writes with waterproof ink. Waterproof ink refills are recommended because their ink will apply to wet paper and not be washed off by rain, dew, fog, sweat, spills, or an accidental dunking. Some waterproof inks have been known to survive trips through a washing machine, Grand Canyon whitewater, and, years of being lost in a forest.
We sell multiple brands of waterproof and weatherproof sheet paper that you can use for writing paper or for creating forms, maps and other documents with laser printers, inkjet printers or plain paper copiers.

The pens that we sell are shipped with a medium-width ballpoint refill that contains black waterproof ink. They mark on wet paper, write when upside down, and perform well at all temperatures between -30F and 250F. We also carry refills with waterproof ink in other colors and other line widths.

Medium point pens are recommended because fine point pens can dig into wet paper unless you have a very light touch. Broad point pens can lay down more ink than can quickly be absorbed by the paper, which can result in smearing.

Standard ballpoint pens sometimes refuse to write under wet or cold conditions. They can contain water-soluble ink or ink that becomes too thick or thin to flow properly under hot or cold conditions. Gel pens perform poorly because the ink is water soluble and will smear – even on dry paper. We always recommend testing your pen and paper combination in the environment of use to be sure that they are compatible.

A weatherproof field desk with clipboard is perfect for taking notes on sheet paper or forms in the field.

Writing With Pencils:

Many people enjoy writing with a pencil because of its simplicity and the ability to erase. For best results on the papers that we sell a hard wide lead performs best. Soft leads tend to smear and narrow leads tend to dig into wet paper.

The mechanical pencils that we sell have a sturdy casing that is built to last and write for years through rough conditions. They write well on most types of paper, lumber, sample bag tags and many other mediums. The mechanical pencils are shipped with six HB (No.2) leads in a 1.1 millimeter width. Wide leads break less frequently and write smoothly over wet paper. They also ship with two extra erasers. Replacement leads and erasers are available here.

Note: Pencils write well on all of the notebooks and field books that we sell. A standard ballpoint pen is the recommended writing implement for iGage Weatherproof and PuffinPaper. These papers do not accept pencil and require a pen. Most gel pens contain water-soluble inks and are not recommended for writing that might come in contact with moisture of any kind.

Your only limit is your imagination when you use Sharpie Permanent Markers to make waterproof signs.

Sharpie Permanent Markers

The Sharpie Permanent Marker is one of our favorite writing implements. You can use it to make great waterproof signs. Sharpies come in a wide variety of colors, point widths and point shapes. That variety gives you many options when making waterproof signs.

You don’t need to stop at “writing” because you can draw, doodle and express yourself in many ways. Kids love to draw with Sharpies. We think that PuffinPaper in the 10 mil thickness is great for making waterproof signs or just drawing with Sharpies for fun.

One word of caution with the Sharpie. Just as when using them on any type of paper, you need to be careful about the ink bleeding through the paper – especially when using wide Sharpie markers or even fine point Sharpie pens that are new. Please test your Sharpie on the paper before you begin work. You want to make sure that it will not bleed through the paper. Use of a backing material beneath the paper is always a good idea when using Sharpies.

Crayons and China Markers

Many people have asked us about using crayons and China markers on waterproof paper. Sometimes they simply want to use these writing implements. Other times they want to write with them and then wipe them off with solvent on a paper towel. We must say that crayons, China markers, and other wax-based markers simply do not perform well. They produce unpredictable results on fiber papers. And, they are also subject to being scraped off or smearing on synthetic waterproof papers.

Dry-Erase Markers

Dry-erase markers might mark well on waterproof papers but you should not have any expectation of erasing the marks. Most waterproof papers do their job by absorbing ink and holding it tenaciously. When that happens a dry-erase eraser will not remove the ink.

FAQ

RECYCLABILITY

In spite of Rite in the Rain‘s durability, it’s as recyclable as standard office paper,
which is untrue of synthetic plastic, poly-coated, or poly-bound papers. Simply recycle Rite
in the Rain

as you do other office paper. Furthermore, all our cover materials used on Rite in the
Rain
products
(Polydura, Field-Flex, and Fabrikoid) are all recyclable using standard curbside recycling
programs. For recycling Wire-O products, it’s recommended to separate the metal wire from the
book prior to putting it all in the receptacle.

PFAS FREE

Traces of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are present in small amounts in our environment due to human use and past manufacturing practices worldwide.
We at JL Darling and our suppliers screen all materials and components used to manufacture Rite in the Rain products for PFAS and do not knowingly incorporate any into our products or processes. We are a PFAS free facility.
.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The process involved in the manufacture of Rite in the Rain paper was designed to have
ultra-low impact on the environment. The water based coating process emits only steam and all
mill off-cuts are recycled back into the paper-manufacturing stream. All printing plates and
processing liquids are recycled. 100% of printing inks are soy based. The modern facility and
equipment are designed to be energy efficient.

RECYCLED FIBER CONTENT

Rite in the Rain All-Weather Paper is a patented substrate created for use in outdoor
writing situations. Since this paper is designed for use in extreme conditions, it is
manufactured with the most durable yet recyclable components available. Recycled content pulp,
as a result of the repulping & reprocessing involved in recycling, produces a “weaker” substrate
due to the shortened fibers. This inherent weakness reduces the field-durability of paper and as
such, is not used in the manufacturing of Rite in the Rain Paper. It is one of the rare
instances where virgin fiber adds significantly to the end-product function. Papers designed for
“office or indoor” uses do not require this strength and as such can contain recycled fiber.
Rite in the Rain fibers are purchased from SFI certified sources, manufactured with
high environmental and social standards.

5 Best Waterproof Notebooks In 2021 🥇 | Tested and Reviewed by Water Enthusiasts

How To Choose A Waterproof Notebook – Buying Guide

In addition to the ability to work in wet conditions, there are some other things to look at as you shop for waterproof notebooks to ensure you get one that will work for your needs and be reliable in the conditions you will be using it in. Here is what else to assess:

Use

Your intended use will determine the best waterproof notepad for you. As you shop, keep in mind where and how you will be using it so you can make the right choice. For example, if you want a notebook to use while exploring the underwater world, you will need to ensure you choose one that you can write on underwater. If you want to document your journey to the summit of a certain mountain, you will need a notepad that is not only rainproof but can also withstand and work in extreme cold and snow.

Quality

When shopping for a waterproof notebook, you’re looking for a reliable notebook you can take with you anywhere and that can stand up to all kinds of weather elements and abuse. For the best performance, you need a quality product that does what it’s meant to do well.

The best waterproof notebook for outdoor use should be rugged enough to handle any element mother nature might present. It should hold up well to being rained on, snowed on, dropped in pools of water, spilled on, thrown in the laundry by mistake etc. It should also stand up to the constant in and out of the pocket handling.

The papers should be all-weather in order to work in any condition. The pages should be easy to write on in the rain, snow, sleet, frigid temperatures, high humidity, using sweaty hands etc and the writing should be clear and legible. Upon coming into contact with water, the pages shouldn’t stick together, turn into mush or tear easily. The binding should be robust. The covers should be tough enough to protect the pages from moisture, scratches, and stains.

Check waterproof notebook reviews by users to find out whether a notebook is water resistant vs. waterproof, works and holds up as well as it claims. Top rated waterproof notepads, such as the ones in our waterproof notebook reviews, will be high-quality and durable.

Size

Waterproof notebooks come in all sorts of sizes so you can find the ideal size for your needs. Want an EDC notebook to have with you all the time to capture ideas and thoughts before they disappear? A compact and lightweight pocket-size is the convenient size. It will fit in your pant, shirt, or coat pockets or the exterior pocket of your backpacking backpack or bag. These waterproof pocket notebooks are ideal for small lists and quick notes. If you need a larger size for taking a lot of notes such as when working or studying in the field, there are bigger sizes too. Consider the number of pages/sheets the notebook has too, to ensure they suit your needs.

Type

Other than the classic pocket notebook, there are other types of waterproof notepads that might be the ideal choice for you. There are field notebooks, hard-bound books, flip-up notepads, loose leaf paper, and more. Upon opening the notebooks, you will come across ruled, graph to plain papers. No matter what you need it for, there is a type of waterproof notebook designed just for the purpose you want it for.

Pens That Write On Arches WC Paper

I have not drawn,
I have not sketched,
I’ve had no fun
In my sketch book

I have not painted,
I have not splashed,
No washes have escaped,
from my brush!

It makes me unhappy
It makes me sad,
It makes me grumpy,
Not to mention mad….

Technology wrangling is not for the faint of heart and I am currently embroiled in a techno-nightmare that started as a dream. I am keeping faith that this dream will right itself to fly swift and straight.

Until it does, my painting/sketching opportunities are limited.

However, I did do something for one of my classes that I thought might be of interest to you…pen tests on Arches watercolor paper. In particular Arches cold press paper.

Sketching with pen on Arches paper can be a challenge and I hear a lot of frustration from folks about getting a pen, any pen, that will draw without skipping….and I’ve found one!

For some reason my scanner had a very difficult time scanning the pen tests that I did. I’ve left the file size a bit larger than normal in the hopes you’ll be able to read it and I’ve also added close-ups below.

The group above is the “waterproof/water resistant” group of pens I had on hand. I love Copic Multiliners as they are refillable, but at best, you get a dry brush effect on the Arches paper. The same thing happens with the Faber Castell Pitt Pen in a Fine Tip. Knowing that I can get this dry brush effect, if I needed that type of effect, is useful, but not helpful when I want a pen that draws without skips!

One of things I have noted is that the larger the pen tip, the better results I seem to have. The 05 pen tip (and larger) offered the best results. I tried Micron Pigma 05 in black and green with the same scratchy, skippy results.

I also tried my Lamy fountain pen with an extra fine nib. The ink was Carbon Black. The tip was much too fine and the ink also lifted when I washed it with water. Not enough to cause a problem, but not 100% waterproof.

The Zig Millennium 05 wrote quite well. There were no skips and no additional fuzzing of the ink as it crept into the paper fibers. Oddly enough, when I ran water over the ink, I got a very light bleed. Not enough to cause a problem, but enough to let me know it’s not 100% waterproof.

My next test was of Non-Waterproof type pens. All of them are classified as “gel ink” or roller-ball type pens.

Imagine my surprise when ALL of them not only wrote better than the “waterproof ink pens” but bled no more than those in the waterproof category!

The Pilot Frixion 07 bled and faded to a lighter gray. It did NOT lift enough to make me think it would be a problem with sketching in a journal*. I would be a little more concerned if I were doing artwork outside of my sketchbook.

There was very slight bleeding with all of these pens, but not so much that it caused a concern of muddy or grayed watercolors, but something to be aware of if I need a very clean sketch.

The other thing to note here is that ink behaves very differently on various paper types. Just because you test it on Arches doesn’t mean the same pen will work well on Fabriano or Strathmore.

To avoid surprises, I usually dedicate the back page of any new journal to test out pens, especially if I am not familiar with the paper.

The list of inks above was created on the last page of a journal I picked up while I was in San Francisco (unfortunately, there is no information on the paper content). The inks are identical to the list on the Arches paper, but if you enlarge the image, you’ll note that many of them bled and they bled worse than on the Arches paper regardless of whether they were waterproof or not.

Sometimes, we get “happy” accidents when we try new mediums in a different way, but the time to be finding out a pen bleeds is usually not if the field! I hope this will encourage you to do your own tests and save yourself the aggravation of temperamental, bleeding pens!

______________________

*I would strongly suggest a light test in a southern facing window to see if the ink is lightfast if longevity is a concern for you. Create two lists of pens to be tested on the paper you intend to use it on most. Add water to part of the line work. Cut the page in half and post one half in the southern-facing window. Place the other half in a closed book.

After two weeks, check for fading by comparing the two pages in good light. Check again at three, four and six weeks. The color may fade or simply shift from a true black to a purple, brown or green.

Waterproof Fountain Pen Inks for Drawing

Why use waterproof inks?

Waterproof inks are usually pigmented which means there are tiny physical particles, usually carbon, and these particles will not just disappear. Hence, waterproof inks are archival and the colours will not fade. The other reason to use waterproof inks is so that you can use mixed media supplies over the ink, eg watercolour, markers or other inks.

Pigmented inks can clog fountain pens though. So when buying waterproof inks to use in fountain pens, make sure the label on the ink bottle specifically states that the ink is safe for fountain pen use. But even so, you’ll definitely want to clear out the ink and wash your pen if you know you won’t be using it for weeks.

There are several reasons why some waterproof inks are safe and others not safe for fountain pens. If the ink particles are big, they can clog more easily. If the ink uses shellac or other binder that dries to foam some sort of coating, the binder will coat the pen nib, in turn destroying the nib — it is incredibly difficult to scrap coated ink off nibs and from interior of fountain pens. Hence never use India inks in fountain pens.

If you’re interested in black inks, check out this comparison review I’ve written

The ink bottles shown in the photo above are (from top left to bottom right):

These are the waterproof tests.

Whether Noodlers Bulletproof Black is waterproof will depend a lot on the paper you use, and how much time you allow for the ink to dry. This ink takes a notoriously long time to dry. I used to like this ink because it’s cheap. You can get a 90ml bottle for less than US $15. But I’ve since stopped using it because I use a variety of different paper the ink performance always varies and I just don’t have the time to wait for the ink to dry before applying watercolour.

Noodlers Lexington Gray performs surprisingly better compared to Noodlers Bulletproof Black. It still takes a long time to dry but the ink is waterproof on most paper I’ve tested. This is a fantastic ink for those who use gray, and it’s great for refilling brush pens too because the ink is thin and flows really smoothly.

De Atramentis Archive is very black, very waterproof.

De Atramentis Document is also waterproof but it’s available in more colours than just black.

Sailor KiwaGuro is a strange ink. When it was a new bottle, the ink was waterproof. But over the months and years, the ink seems to have lost its waterproof quality.

Platinum Carbon is very black, very waterproof. If you look close at the bottle opening you will see tiny physical ink particles. This is a sure sign that you must clear out the ink from the pen if you have no intention of using your pen often.

SketchINK from Rohrer & Klingner is waterproof and available in several colours.

Regardless of which ink you use, if you want to create art with them, always do a limited test with them first. Write on a small piece of paper. Run alcohol markers or watercolour over the ink. Spray fixative to see if the ink will break or dissolve. Only when the ink’s behaviour is consistent and predictable can they be used for professional purposes. You don’t want surprises when you use mixed media with inks.

Here’s a video on how you can choose black inks for drawing.

90,000 Why are paper and pen better than a tablet?

  • Alison Birraine
  • BBC Capital

Annually in January, Angela Ceberano sets goals for the next 12 months. And on Sunday evenings, he plans and organizes the next week.

But instead of spreadsheets and fancy mobile apps, PR founder Flourish PR in Melbourne Australia uses notebooks, an old-fashioned diary, colored pens and a stack of magazines. With their help, he creates ideas, makes lists and visualizes desires.

Ms. Ceberano is by no means a technophobe. A digital woman, she has many social media accounts and splits her time between traditional and new media between Australia and San Francisco, where some of her startup’s clients are located.

She prefers the simplicity, flexibility and tactile feel of the paper page for some tasks.

“Sometimes I just want to get rid of all this technical stuff and sit in a quiet place with a pen and paper,” she says.

“There are so many different programs in the world, and it seems to me that none will give what I need. I honestly tried to use them, made to-do lists, tried to brainstorm with various applications … [but ] I prefer to use a pen and a piece of paper or an old-fashioned diary. It’s always at hand. It always helps to focus. ”

And she’s not the only one who thinks so.

A quick survey of social media reveals that users are slowly returning to humble stationery reps and writing.

Signs to photos,

Office supplies sales have skyrocketed lately due to the popularity of Bullet journaling system – “quick entries, lists”

Many people use cursive writing and highlighting in different colors.

It helps them to organize life or work goals: physical training, finances or quick career advancement.

But despite the proliferation of electronic applications, other ideas that advocate a return to basic principles have already gained traction on the web.

Scientific basis

Science suggests that these traditional methods still have some basis.

While technology can provide a significant advantage for some tasks, the overshoot of “numbers” is of growing concern.

A 2010 study from San Diego, California, shows that we consume nearly three times as much information as we did in the 1960s.

And the report of the British regulation Ofcom indicates that 60% of citizens consider themselves to be dependent on mobile devices.

At the same time, a third of users spend more time online than they plan.

So aren’t we too carried away and aren’t our screens distracting us too much from reality? Quite possible. For example, a significant proportion of students admit that multitasking is harmful and reduces concentration.

Other studies show that a pen and a piece of paper are better than a keyboard. For example, a study from Princeton University and the University of California at Los Angeles published in 2014.

Signs to photos,

Tactile receptors can stimulate those parts of the brain that are associated with creativity and the search for new solutions

Three experiments showed that students who wrote notes on laptops were less versed in key issues than their peers who wrote on paper.

Handwriting lectures improved comprehension and memorization as students were forced to process information rather than just mechanically typing it in.

Well, another study published in the Journal of Applied Cognitive Psychology claims that people who write different squiggles with a pen are better at remembering boring information.

Quick Notes

Of course, making to-do lists without technical tools is not new. It was widely used in pre-internet times.

The difference is that experienced digital users are now returning to traditional methods.

Many of them are successful video bloggers, technical professionals or experts in new media.

This latest trend has helped boost sales of office supplies such as the popular Moleskine and Leuchtturm1917 notebooks, manufacturers said.

Moleskine sales have grown by double digits annually over the past four years, said Mark Sislinski, president of Moleskine America.

Leuchtturm1917 Marketing Manager Richard Bernier reported that sales skyrocketed in July 2016, thanks in large part to the popularity of Bullet journaling, a well-known form of listing.

Reflecting on Ourselves

Amy Jones started selling drawings for task control after a visual cue helped her pay off her $ 26,000 debt faster. Each oval in her drawings represents a $ 100

paid out So what is the continued popularity of simple tools, given the proliferation of technologies specifically designed to improve productivity?

First of all, the notebook will never run out of batteries, and the screen will not freeze during operation.

You cannot accidentally delete something here.

He will not call, he will not vibrate and annoy you with constant notifications from social networks and e-mail.

In it you can draw, draw diagrams or sketch something that is not so easy to do with a smartphone.

For Amy Jones, author of Map Your Progress, the drawings helped pay off a $ 26,000 debt.

Jones was inspired by the images her mother used for sales, and she painted a huge canvas with ovals, each representing $ 100, and hung it on the wall.

Every time a San Diego woman paid this amount, she painted one oval with a bright color. Result? She paid off the debt in half the time and created a good picture.

“I was surprised how effective it was and how enjoyable it was to color,” Jones admitted.

“I could see success blooming on the wall. That motivated me. And so I started to pay off the debt aggressively.”

Signs to Photos,

New York-based digital product developer Ryder Carroll created Bullet Journal, a method of taking notes and lists for personal use

Jones wrote about her success on Facebook and her idea began to evolve.

In 2015, Jones began selling her schemes, which she called the cards of success, to clients in various countries, including Australia. She herself used them to focus on goals such as paying off debts, losing weight, or preparing for a marathon.

“There is a ritual in it. People love it. They look forward to filling in the next oval. It’s no longer just sliding your finger across the screen or filling in a cell in a spreadsheet. It’s a whole new experience.”

Likewise, New York-based digital product developer Ryder Carroll created the Bullet Journal, a method of taking short notes and making lists for personal use.

“Now you can see the best results of my efforts to solve your organizational problems, each of which is ingrained in my attention deficit disorder, which I discovered as a child,” he says.

“The idea that we cannot pay attention to something is wrong. From my own experience I know that it can be done if we do not try to cover too many things at the same time.So I have to find a way to capture information in short periods of intense effort and figure out how to focus on listening. “

His notebook, Carroll says, he” designed for himself, for his mindset, to be flexible. ” Sometimes I draw something in it, sometimes I write, sometimes I plan, sometimes it is for everything. I needed a system in which to do all this. “

Abandoning the” number “increases office sales

That letter also awakens the process of finding new solutions. Working with technology and devices lacks the “dirty hand” feeling that comes with innovation and creativity, says Arvind Malhotra, professor at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina.

“Research has shown that tactile sensations can stimulate the parts of the brain that are associated with creativity. Therefore, the tactile sensations and sensory experience when creating something with your own hands has a lot to do with creativity,” he says.

“My own research into rapid prototyping has shown that even in the digital age, innovation begins when digital needs to be supplemented with physical ones,” says Malhotra.

This is why many tech companies love whiteboards, he adds.

“In about 80% of the physical work environment, I have also surveyed highly creative workers who use whiteboards,” says the professor. still the dominant method of stimulating creativity and collaboration. “

In almost all high-tech companies, whiteboards are the main stimulus for creativity and collaboration

Back to basics

For Ms. Cheberano, the ability to turn off the phone, move away from the computer, sit down and concentrate is key, as is freedom of action in creating your own system.

“You might get caught up in this maelstrom of technology, but in reality, it’s always someone’s rules,” she says.

“I don’t use all of these programs because they always represent someone else’s format. My mind doesn’t work like theirs,” Ceberano continues.

“So when I pick up paper and pen, I write everything exactly the way it is in my head, but it may not work for others … I think people just want to take back control of their time and control over the information that we get”.

Types of interior door coatings 09. 06.2016 17:00

Everyone wants their apartment to look modern and stylish. This applies to every detail, especially wallpaper, flooring and, of course, interior doors. Today on the market there is a huge variety of a wide variety of design models that fit any interior design. However, it is rather difficult to determine what is the best covering of interior doors in a particular case. In order not to get lost in this huge variety, you should first understand what door coatings are, what are their differences and advantages.

Veneer – covering from thin sheets of wood, which are made by various methods: planing, sawing or peeling. For this, veneer planing, veneer sawing, peeling machines are used. The raw material is short logs or blocks of wood.

The thickness of the sliced veneer is from 0.2 to 5 mm, it is made from fine wood with a beautiful texture, such as elm, yew, ash, mahogany, walnut, oak and many others. Depending on the wood pattern, different planing directions are chosen for different types of wood.As a result, tangential, radial-tangential, tangential-end and radial veneers are obtained. As a result of planing, the sheets are packed in order so that later it is easy to pick them up according to the pattern.

From 1 to 10 mm, sawn veneer is made, usually from coniferous trees: spruce, cedar and fir. Such veneer can be used for the manufacture of decorative items, since its quality is quite high. Do not forget that a large amount of wood as a result of the production of sawn veneer goes to sawdust.

The most common veneer is rotary cut veneer. It is made from such tree species as oak, pine, birch, alder. For the consumer, it will be the cheapest option, since the technology of its manufacture is a thin “sheet”, very similar to shavings that are removed round from a log. This method allows you to remove the maximum usable wood from one block.

Veneering is a process of gluing the surface of a door leaf with veneer sheets by hot pressing using bonding materials. To protect the surface, a high-tech varnish is used, thanks to which the veneer becomes resistant to wear and is not afraid of moisture.

With the aesthetic similarity of veneered doors to solid wood doors, veneered doors have not only a lower cost, but also the performance properties of these doors are much better. They are more moisture resistant than wooden doors, because natural wood is sensitive to both moisture and temperature changes.

Veneer “ f ine-line” – Reconstructed veneer made of natural wood. For the production of fine-line, veneer of non-valuable soft wood is used, which cannot be used in its usual form. In the production of fine-line veneer, wood goes through the following production stages:

1. Peeling – the logs are cut into a strip of a certain thickness, which is then cut into veneer sheets of a certain size.

2. Drying of the obtained veneer sheets and sorting them by color.

3. Pass-through staining – graded veneer is immersed in a container with a staining solution.

4. Bonding – the colored sheets are collected in bundles with the same fiber direction and sandwiched with a binder. The adhesive not only binds the veneer layers to each other, but also creates an additional decorative effect by adding dye.

Next, a cross-section is made from the previously glued veneer layers. And by hot pressing the door leaf is pasted over.

Thus, fine-line veneer includes: 92–94% – natural wood, 7–8% binder (glue), 0.3–0.5% – dye.

As a result, fine-line veneer acquired the following advantages: environmental friendliness, resistance to temperature extremes, moisture resistance, decorative surface.

Doors with a film coating – the main characteristics when choosing a film are resistance to mechanical stress, abrasion, fading under ultraviolet light, exposure to chemicals. Currently, there are a large number of types of films for interior doors, including finish film, pvc, polypropylene (eco-veneer), laminate, melamine, fiberglass. The following are the most popular types of film coatings:

Finish film – high quality modern material. It is based on paper. To protect it from moisture and mechanical damage, it is impregnated with synthetic resins and covered with a protective varnish. The synthetic materials used in the manufacture of doors do not emit toxins into the air and are environmentally friendly.

Advantages of interior doors laminated with a finish film: color constancy – the coating does not fade even after many years; availability – prices for doors made of this material are the lowest; environmental friendliness; resistance to temperature extremes.

3D finish film – the principle of production completely repeats the production of a conventional finish film, except that the coating is given a three-dimensional effect that faithfully imitates the texture of natural wood.

3D-coating perfectly withstands intense operational loads and changes in humidity with temperature. Such material does not swell on doors and does not crack.

PVC cover – made of solid polyvinyl chloride. It has increased resistance to temperature and high humidity, mechanical stress (scratches, chips), easy to clean, does not lose its color over time. It adheres very firmly to the base.

The main advantage of PVC doors is the ability to produce them in any color scheme and with any texture, whether it be a wood-like style or imitation of natural materials (for example, leather, stone and others). In addition, you will never find doors made of natural wood that repeat in color. And PVC film allows you to create doors with exactly the same pattern and shade, which makes it easier to select doors for one set.

Polypropylene (eco-veneer) is a material of artificial origin certified by numerous standards, exactly imitating the natural texture and color of valuable wood species.

Eco-veneer is a polypropylene film with a 3D effect. In terms of manufacturing technologies, an interior door with a polypropylene coating is similar to laminated doors or with a PVC coating.Eco-veneer is the material that today imitates wood best of all.

Eco-veneer doors have a number of advantages: high wear resistance, durability; eco-veneer is more resistant to chips, scratches and mechanical stress; easily tolerates significant changes in temperature and humidity and does not crack; does not absorb dirt due to the absence of pores. Given the artificial origin of the material, you can give it any colors, they will be bright, juicy, will not fade, fade, i.e.because products made of eco-veneer are resistant to prolonged exposure to direct ultraviolet rays.

Enamel – doors covered with durable two-component polyurethane enamel, which forms a durable film on the door surface. The waterproof film gives not only a beautiful coating, but also exceptional properties: reliable protection of the surface from temperature changes, moisture and sunlight.
