Following Written in the Stars and Hang the Moon, national bestselling author Alexandria Bellefleur pens another steamy queer rom-com about former best friends who might be each other’s second chance at love…

Margot Cooper doesn’t do relationships. She tried and it blew up in her face, so she’ll stick with casual hookups, thank you very much. But now her entire crew has found “the one” and she’s beginning to feel like a fifth wheel. And then fate (the heartless bitch) intervenes. While touring a wedding venue with her engaged friends, Margot comes face-to-face with Olivia Grant—her childhood friend, her first love, her first… well, everything. It’s been ten years, but the moment they lock eyes, Margot’s cold, dead heart thumps in her chest.

Olivia must be hallucinating. In the decade since she last saw Margot, her life hasn’t gone exactly as planned. At almost thirty, she’s been married… and divorced. However, a wedding planner job in Seattle means a fresh start and a chance to follow her dreams. Never in a million years did she expect her important new client’s Best Woman would be the one that got away.

When a series of unfortunate events leaves Olivia without a place to stay, Margot offers up her spare room because she’s a Very Good Person. Obviously. It has nothing to do with the fact that Olivia is as beautiful as ever and the sparks between them still make Margot tingle. As they spend time in close quarters, Margot starts to question her no-strings stance. Olivia is everything she’s ever wanted, but Margot let her in once and it ended in disaster. Will history repeat itself or should she count her lucky stars that she gets a second chance with her first love?

What Are Signs of Good Luck?

Luck is the phenomenon that has had academics and scientists debating for many years. Some believe that luck is a natural birthright and that some are born with good fortune, while others believe that luck is a product of determination, a positive mindset, and hard work. The question of whether luck is real or not is still left unanswered, however, regardless as to whether it’s just superstition or not, everyone wants to experience a bit of good luck from time to time! So, what are the signs that one should look out for?

How Can I identify Luck in My Life?

Whether you believe you’re lucky or unlucky is a subjective perception of how you see the world around you and interpret the events that happen to you. Some may say that you’re a lucky person if you have food in your fridge, a house to live in and a family around you. Others may argue that you’re a lucky person if you drive a Lamborghini, live in a seven-bedroom mansion and regularly dine at fancy restaurants.

One way to identify luck in your life is to appreciate the things that you do have and be grateful for the experiences that you’ve encountered. There may be someone out there who would love to be in your position and classes you as the luckiest person ever!

Good Luck Symbols and Signs from Around the World

Luck is symbolized by a wide spectrum of numbers, objects, plant and animal life and lucky charms from all around the world, all of which may vary depending on a culture’s folklore. The significance of each symbol is rooted in either superstition, mythology, esotericism, or religion. Some common superstitions are that an unspecified misfortune will occur if you break a mirror, spill salt, walk under a ladder and that it is a sign that bad luck will befall you if a black cat crosses your path. The number 13 is also considered to be unlucky and many elevators simply skip the number 13 and go straight to 14 because of this superstition.

Here are some of the most well-known signs of good luck:

1)

Elephants

Elephants are a symbol of love, wealth, health and longevity. In some cultures, elephant figurines are placed near the entrance to the house to ensure longevity and luck to those who pass through. The Ganesha, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is a Hindu God of Luck. With his multiple arms and elephant head, he is widely renowned as the patron of arts and sciences and the keeper of intellect and wisdom.

2)

Horseshoes

Horseshoes traditionally symbolize good luck, fertility, and power over evil. The horseshoe is often associated with the horse’s dependability, strength, and sharp nature. Many people hang the horseshoe in their home with the open end facing upwards to ensure that the luck doesn’t fall out!

3)

Four Leaf Clovers

The four-leaf clover is an ancient Irish symbol of Luck that stems from folklore. Legend says that the Celtics believed that the clover would help them see fairies and avoid fairy tricks. The four-leaf clovers are said to represent hope, faith, love, and luck. There are many varieties of Clovers as well as ones with a different number of leaves, but the truly lucky ones come from a white clover plant.

4)

Keys

A key is one of the oldest lucky charms. A key that is given from one lover to another is considered to be a symbol of unlocking the door to the person’s heart.  The person giving the key is said to be “lucky in love”. The Ancient Greeks believed the key held the power to send prayers to reach the gods, called the “Key of Life”.

5)

Shooting Stars

A shooting star is said to possess a certain type of magic, one that grants you good luck and positive energy flow in your life. Legend also says that anyone who is lucky enough to witness a shooting star should make a wish!

Four-Leaf Clover

One leaf is for HOPE
The second for FAITH
The third for LOVE
The fourth for LUCK

(The early Celts and Druids considered the four-leaf clover lucky. It was thought to protect the owner from disease as well as curses from ‘dark’ witches. Some believed it gave the owner ‘second sight’.)

I’m Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover

(written 1927 by Mort Dixon, music by Harry Woods
recorded 1948 by Art Mooney and later by Carl Belew)

I’m looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before.
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain,
Third is the roses that grow in the lane.
No need explaining, the one remaining
Is somebody I adore.
I’m looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before.

90,000 Talismans and happy things: stories of Kazan citizens and IKEA solutions for keeping their favorite valuables

Bracelet with an infinity sign

I bought the bracelet five years ago during my first long business trip to Irkutsk. It was an ordinary jewelry store, we just had love at first sight, and I decided to please myself, and now the bracelet makes me happy. I’m not superstitious, but I believe in the energetic value of things. Everyone has a different energy. This bracelet protects me from mixing energies or connecting someone else’s – for example, the evil eye. There is an infinity sign on it – a symbol of balance and harmony. Besides, I have a lot of eights in my date of birth.

Ancient tribes had jewelry that saved them from evil spirits. It seems to me it’s the same here. There were times when I forgot to put it on, and immediately trouble began: I was late, became inattentive, lost something.

I cannot boast that thanks to the bracelet I won the lottery or escaped from something. But in my life there was a period when I worked as a flight attendant, and sometimes the bracelet helped me.Flight attendants, by the way, are very superstitious people: someone does not sew before the flight, someone does not say the word “last”, someone has rituals on how to properly wake up and get up on the day of departure. Once the bracelet fell off me during a flight. Then the turbulence began, and I just moved away from the aisle to find the fallen bracelet. At that moment, a cart swept past me. If I hadn’t bent down for the bracelet, the cart would have crashed into me.

There was another case during the advanced training. We had a task: to open the doors correctly during the evacuation. My bracelet got caught on the handle, which I forgot to turn, and if not for it, I probably would not have passed the exam.

He helped me a lot during my vacation. At the airport, a bracelet caught on a suitcase. I unhooked it and walked on. After some time, I felt that something was wrong – as if the suitcase was going somehow wrong. At that moment I thought: what could he catch on to? I looked, and this is not my suitcase. There was a ribbon on mine, and on this was a toy, on which the bracelet was hooked.

If the bracelet is lost, it means that it will take with it something bad that could have happened to me. If it breaks and there is no way to fix it, I’ll just carry it with me. I handle the jewelry carefully – I regularly take it for cleaning and would like to pass it on to my daughter in the future.

I have a lot of memorabilia. There is an ornament that my grandmother gave me, there is a soft toy turtle – my parents bought it when my real turtle died. There is a ring that I just like and I wear it often. All my jewelry is kept in small boxes from IKEA. There is also such a life hack – to store cosmetics in plastic boxes. Everything is in sight and at the same time neatly folded.

Once a season I do an audit in my closet. If things are in disrepair, then I just throw them away. Sometimes I take clothes that have become small or tired of me to thrift stores. I can’t say that I made a lot of money on this, but I am glad that it was useful to someone. In fact, lately I realized that not so many things are needed for life, the main thing is that they are of good quality.

Your personal Talisman of Good Luck !: leka_veselka – LiveJournal

From today on we will make personal Talismans of Good Luck.

Exactly WE WILL DO TOGETHER: You and I.

You write to me in the comments to this post any word in Russian : the one that you like the most or the one that comes to mind after reading. If you want, let it be your name or surname, or nickname. You can complicate the task: the first word that you hear after reading this post or that you hear when you go out into the street at some time you have determined. Put a creative spark in coming up with words, and Luck will not fail to come to you in order to accompany you for a whole year.
The word can be absolutely anything! Even though “Chuchundra” or “Murkobrakolysova” is, in the end, even a mate, but the word should be one and should not include more than 22 letters . (The shorter the better! Count me less! And bear in mind that this word will be called your talisman ).
I calculate this word according to ABRA and, according to its vibrational numerical code, I select a picture on the Internet: either a Tarot card, or a drawing of the zodiac sign, or a photo of the planet, – and I give you link to this picture. This will be the TALISMAN OF YOUR LUCK for the Year of the Ox. You can put this picture as wallpaper on your desktop, you can print it on a printer in the size you need, hang it in a place convenient for you, you can put it in your wallet or somewhere else.In any case, the talisman will bring good luck, even when it is not in your sight or at hand. Your word, having received a visual image: color and shape, will acquire magical power. Not seeing the talisman, but imagining it in your imagination, you can call on your luck at any time.
Much will depend on how much you believe me and trust yourself. And also keep in mind that ABRA – is Magic Foolishness or Magic Foolishness, so please be funny when you write your word to me in the comments to attract Good Luck, as This Wayward Lady does not like the gloomy and serious.
Since the Year of the Ox begins on January 26, 2009, orders are accepted until this date, that is, until January 25 inclusive.
Lead time from one to seven days.

How to attract money to the house using bay leaves

The mystical properties of laurel and its leaves were attributed by our ancestors
Photo: pixabaycom

Many people believe that bay leaves can attract wealth and good luck to the home.

It is no coincidence that bay leaves were considered a symbol of victory in ancient Greece. Wreaths made of them were worn by respected people – athletes, military leaders and policymakers. Since ancient times, this plant has been surrounded by a special mysticism.

It is believed that bay leaves are capable of attracting wealth to the home. The more there are, the more chances you have to become successful and famous.

There are five signs connecting laurel and money.

  • Going to an important meeting or to a conversation about a salary increase, you should hold in your hand (or, at worst, in a notebook) a leaf of laurel. It should give you confidence and good luck.

  • Put a bay leaf in your wallet and you won’t know what a lack of money is.It will attract new bills.

  • It will contribute to the bay leaves and the multiplication of existing accumulations. To do this, you should put a few in a cache where you keep money “for a rainy day.”

  • On the night of the new moon, write shortly your cherished wish on a bay leaf. Try to do this carefully, without damaging its integrity. On a full moon, burn the leaf, and spread the ashes outside the window.Expect your dream to come true soon.

  • On a full moon, lightly fry the bay leaves in a skillet. You can sprinkle them lightly with olive oil. When aroma and light smoke comes from the contents of the pan, turn off the heat. Take the pan in your hands (after putting on special kitchen gloves) and go around all the rooms with it. Wish yourself and your family well-being and financial prosperity.

Of course, with all this, we must not forget the main thing: no matter what magic plants you use to attract money, you can only rely on them and therefore you cannot sit idle on the stove – you will remain at a broken trough!

90,000 talisman for money, luck and financial well-being

Mid-November – it’s time to think about gifts for the New Year. Now there is still a little time left to make your friends and family a nice cute gift with your own hands, putting in it a piece of sincere and autumnal warmth. Today we will make a beautiful interior decoration from the minimum amount of materials and, in combination, – a New Year’s talisman for financial well-being.

To make a money talisman, we need money, or rather, coins (after all, to get good luck, you first need to invest in it! :), primer, paints, “Glitter” and embossed paste.

We will decorate an old, shabby New Year’s ball. We cover it with primer, or you can use white paint if there is no primer at hand. This step should not be neglected, it will provide better adhesion of materials.

It is very convenient, having removed the metal loop, or the decorative cap, on which the ball is usually hung, put it on a brush or pencil. So we will be able to twist the ball as it is convenient for us, without fear of smearing the painted areas.

Apply the embossed paste evenly. A dense, but not very thick layer. We begin to press coins into the paste. We took the same ten-kopeck coins, but you can experiment with both money of different denominations and different currencies.

After the paste has dried, paint the ball with acrylic red paint and dry it again. We took the red color for a reason, because 2016 according to the eastern calendar is the year of the Fire Monkey.Let the use of this symbolism play into the hands of our amulet for material prosperity.

We are waiting for the paint to dry, and then apply gold paint on top with a “dry brush”. In the process, do not forget to say the magic spell: “Gold – to gold!” 🙂 Dry again.

We cover the product with a glossy varnish.

We could have stopped at the previous step, but we wanted to add some more sparkle. Apply “Glitter” to the ball and rub it with your fingers.Let the product dry.

That’s all, a wonderful talisman gift is ready! It remains only to figure out who will get it, who will bring monetary luck in the coming year.

“Magic” Around Us: Energy of Objects – Energy and Industry of Russia – № 11 (223) June 2013 – WWW.EPRUSSIA.RU

Newspaper “Energy and Industry of Russia” | No. 11 (223) June 2013

Nevertheless, everyone, even the hardened pragmatists, sometimes wants to believe in miracles. Why else would we need little “magic tricks”: talismans, lucky jewelry and garments, special numbers that we remember when we pull out an exam card and play the lottery?

On the same energy wave

All this is not serious – many will object and will be right in their own way, because it is imprudent to rely on one “magic” to achieve success. But can anyone unequivocally say that they have never seen prophetic dreams, omens have never come true, and talismans have not brought good luck? Perhaps the most ordinary things have a special energy and can help people? Or vice versa…

Chilling stories about cursed houses and objects that store otherworldly evil continue to be born in the imagination of writers and screenwriters, making impressionable natures flinch in horror at every rustle. At the same time, few will dare to buy a car, knowing that a person was hit on it, or an apartment in which the misfortune occurred. What is it: “grandmother’s tales”, superstitions passed down from generation to generation, or facts, albeit not amenable to scientific explanation?

Whether you believe in the magic of objects or not, what was an axiom for our distant ancestors remains relevant today, centuries later. Do not lose their popularity and “professional wizards” – psychics, healers, healers, to whom some visit more often than an appointment with a therapist. The energy of things for them is not an element of folklore or fiction, but a working tool. So, let’s turn to the professionals …

– As for clothing, for example, it is saturated with the life and energy of the person who wears it, keeps the memory of the events of his life, which are not always joyful. Sometimes tears of a girl who grieved over unhappy love can remain on the scarf – such a thing is full of sorrow and despondency. There are items that “smell like a scandal”: for example, the outfit you were wearing during a conflict at work.

Many people notice: in some things everything is easy for you, the mood is excellent, luck literally goes into your hands. In others, you feel depressed, and everything falls out of hand, – says psychic Alena Kurilova. – Personally, I (someone may disagree with me) do not really like the red color in clothes – it suppresses me.

But what about the exchange of dresses and scarves, sacred for the beautiful half of humanity, and is it really not worth giving to those in need clothes that have been serenely gathering dust in the closet for a long time, but can still serve people with faith and truth?

It is possible to give and borrow items, but it must be done deliberately, experts are sure.If you take a dress from a friend, it is important that her energy is not just positive, but is right for you. In other words, you must be on the same energy wavelength with this person: have points of contact with him in terms of temperament, lifestyle. Otherwise, your essences may not get along in one object, turning it into an energy battlefield. Therefore, if you are the protector of our smaller brothers, and your friend is a lover of shooting game, think carefully about whether it is worth borrowing a tie from him.

And this applies not only to clothes, but to absolutely everything: dishes, furniture, jewelry, souvenirs. The statement of theatrical props and amateurs of commissions that a completely new thing without history is dead and only worn-out objects are of interest undoubtedly makes sense. But, surrounding yourself with antique armchairs and sets, you should also not forget about caution.

As Alena Kurilova notes, these rules do not apply to small children.

– Until the age of nine, all children are angels.Their energy is practically related to each other. Children’s things can be quite calmly both accepted as a gift and given them away, – the psychic believes.

Secrets of “second hand”

Each of us is a bit of a psychologist: exchanging objects from hand to hand, we can at least try to feel the energy of the former or future owner and compare it with our own. But how do you do this when buying second-hand clothes from second hand? What if the thing you like belonged to a seriously ill person and retains the spirit of illness, or it won’t let fortune come to you for a kilometer, since it was worn by a pathological loser? Well, that doesn’t sound very life-affirming …

However, most psychics do not urge to completely abandon shopping in the “second hand”.After all, there are techniques that allow you to protect yourself from unwanted acquisitions. Experts urge you to listen to what we call the “sixth sense”.

– You need to listen to yourself, your inner feelings. Taking the object in your hands, feeling it, you should close your eyes and pay attention to what first occurred to you, what memory flashed through your mind. Was it the image of a beloved relative or a bosom friend, or did you remember an unpleasant episode in your life: a conflict at home, at work, the death of a loved one, etc.etc.? This will be a good clue to you as to what kind of energy the thing stores – negative or positive. Moreover, this method is absolutely universal and is suitable not only for clothes, – advises Ms. Kurilova.

But the “sixth sense” can be silent, especially if the object is energetically empty. Psychics agree that there are also such things: these can be completely new things or those that have remained untouched for a long time in the most secluded corner of the closet. Of course, they will not bring you good luck, but you should not expect negativity from them, in addition, you yourself can charge them with your energy.

What to do when intuition has failed and an energetically hostile element has seeped into your wardrobe? Is it really the only solution – to get rid of it urgently, even if it cost you a pretty penny and you like it outwardly?

– In any case, you should play it safe, do an energetic cleaning of things that can be combined with washing. For this, there are elementary amulets available to any mistress. For example, take regular salt and throw four pinches crosswise (in the direction in which you are baptized) into the basin where the item is soaked, or into the washing machine.

Besides, let’s not forget about the amazing properties of the Moon. Wait until the full moon, leave the object in a basin of water overnight, throwing four pinches of salt into it in the same way – the faithful companion of the Earth will draw out all negative energy.

Another reliable amulet that we inherited from our ancestors is cross stitching. Three small crosses, necessarily embroidered with red threads, near the tag will not spoil the look of a shirt or blouse, but they will cleanse them of bad energy and protect you from the evil eye, advises Alena Kurilova.

Energy of “my fortress”

As the popular saying goes, my home is my fortress. Many, especially those who have something to lose, understand the aphorism almost literally: they strengthen their “citadel” with armored doors, connect high-tech alarm systems and even equip staircases with video cameras.

But at the same time, according to psychics, people lose sight of one important detail: you need to protect your hearth not only from robbers, but also from negative energy. And it is the objects that fill the house that play a primary role in this.

Of course, the aura of the home has received much more attention lately than before. A popular trend of our time has become various methods and teachings on how to energetically correctly equip a house or apartment – just remember Feng Shui. After all, if your head constantly hurts at home, the mood leaves much to be desired, and luck has long given up on you, perhaps it is the unfavorable energy that is to blame.

No matter how frightening it sounds, our home is filled with “ghosts” – not cinematic translucent silhouettes emitting terrible groans, but with the spirit and energy of the events that took place here and the people who lived here. It is not hard to guess that if your apartments bear the imprint of quarrels and misfortunes, you should not expect a pleasant pastime in them. But if you have serious suspicions about the purity of the aura of your home, this is not a reason to get rid of it convulsively, mediums say.Do not rush to call “ghostbusters” either – you can try to cope with this on your own, listening to the advice of experts.

– Faced with difficulties, some think: this apartment is bad – you need to sell it. At the same time, they do not think about what will happen to the new owners, preferring to transfer this burden to others. I think this is not only unfair, but also impractical. After all, whatever aura our home has, we get used to it, spend so much energy to equip our life.So why not make an effort to cleanse the aura of your home? Of course, this is not always easy, but it is always possible, – says Alena Kurilova. – Let’s start with preparation. Before the wonderful Christian holiday of Easter there is Maundy Thursday, when heaven itself gives us the opportunity to rid ourselves of negativity and even disease. On this day, I advise you to do the following: getting up in the morning and taking a shower (cleansing your body of negativity), pour a large pinch of good old salt into one pot for all family members. Thus, you will charge this salt with the positive energy of this event – cleansing.
