Sugar tinted lip balm review: Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 review

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 review

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment turned out to be a sleeper hit in Sephora’s Sun Safety Kit 2018. Every time I use it, I feel like I’m treating my lips to a mini spa day. It leaves my lips feeling oh-so-soft and healthy, without a hint of waxiness or oiliness that comes from other types of chapsticks and lip treatments. And though it does lend a bit of rosiness to your lips, unlike a lipstick, it doesn’t leave a noticeable tint on the rim of a drinking glass. You can carry this lip treatment around in your bag to pamper your lips on the go—it provides a boost of moisture, SPF protection, and a natural rosy tint, all in a cute little package. It’s definitely one of those “under-the-radar cosmetics” that naturally enhances your look without trying too hard. Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at what goes into this lip treatment.

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 ingredients

Active ingredients: ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (octinoxate) (7. 49%), oxybenzone (benzophenone-3) (2%)

Inactive ingredients: cera alba (beeswax), ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, hydrogenated olive oil decyl esters, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, fragrance, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, ribes nigrum (black currant) seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, rosa damascena flower water, retinyl palmitate, ascorbyl palmitate, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, tocopherol, sucrose tetrastearate triacetate, ci 15985 (yellow 6 lake), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 15850 (red 7 lake), polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate, CI 77491 (iron oxides), CI 77499 (iron oxides), propyl gallate, limonene, benzyl alcohol, linalool, bht, citral, citronellol, geraniol

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 review

The packaging

Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment comes packaged in a cute dusty rose-colored case that screws up. One weird thing I loved about this lip balm was the packaging: the diameter of the lip balm itself is just about perfect for my lips—not too wide and not too skinny. It’s slightly less wide than your average chapstick, so you don’t have to worry about going beyond the borders of your lips.

The tint

The rose tint lends just a hint of a pink to your lips, so it looks like you’re flushed and happy. When I put it on, I feel like it’s lending a healthy glow that enhances my lips’ natural pink color rather than covering it up.

But the best part is that this lip balm is not designed just for helping your lips look nice—it also helps them _feel_nice, by moisturizing them and making them look and feel healthy. This is called a “lip treatment” for a reason. It’s formulated with beeswax (a common ingredient in many chapsticks and lip balms) to seal in moisture, as well as several types of oils: jojoba seed oil, avocado oil, grape seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, black currant seed oil, and sunflower seed oil.

And yet, it doesn’t make your lips feel oily—just nicely hydrated.

Sun protection

This lip treatment provides SPF 15 protection against UV rays. It uses two active sunscreen filters: octinoxate and oxybenzone. The downside is that neither of these ingredients blocks UVA radiation, and they are not reef safe, so I wouldn’t recommend wearing this lip treatment in the ocean or pool. The SPF factor is also quite low, at just 15, so I would save it for days when you’re not planning to get a lot of sun exposure.

All in all, I like Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment quite a bit and would love to gift it to all of my friends. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t smile upon receiving this cute little lip treatment as a present. The rose tint is flattering on just about anyone and we could all use more lip treatments that include a boost of SPF protection. I’m a firm believer in wearing makeup that improves your skin, rather than just covering it up, so this feels like one of those “makeup” products that also provides non-cosmetic benefits by moisturizing your lips and protecting them from UV radiation.

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 Review

Is it me or most tinted lip balms do more moisturizng than colour tinting? Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 is the exception to the rule.

But is that a good thing? Let’s find out:

What’s In Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15?

The base of Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 is made up of three natural oils:

  • Castor Oil: A moisturising oil with antibacterial activity. It feels a little sticky on.
  • Jojoba Oil: Very similar to human sebum, this moisturising oil sinks in quickly without leaving any residue behind.
  • Grape seed oil: Derived from grapes, this moisturising oil has powerful antioxidant properties that help you fight free radicals and the premature wrinkles they cause.

All these oils have one thing in common: they create a barrier on the lips that slows down water loss, helping to keep them soft and supple for longer.

Related: The Complete Guide To Castor Oil In Skincare

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 promises to provide essential sun protection. But the only UV filter it contains is Octinoxate.

Here’s what this means: Octinoxate is an UVB filter. But it’s totally useless against UVA rays. So how did the lip treatment get SPF 15?

SPF only measures the protection you’re getting from UVB rays. You could get SPF 50 and still be totally unprotected against UVA rays! Shocking, I know.

Sure, protection from UVB rays only is better than nothing. But you can’t rely only on this lip balm for sun protection. UVA rays cause plenty of damage, too.

In the tube, Berry is a scary warm and dark plummy red shade. But once applied, it turns into a subtler pinkish purple.

Lightweight and creamy.

It’s not so sheer you can’t see the colour, but it’s not so intense to provide full coverage. It gives you more than a hint of colour – just what you’d expect from a tinted lip balm.

Usually, I’m a sucker for citrusy scents, but I find this one very unappealing. Rather than fresh and sparkling, it is bitter and sugary. And synthetic. Luckily, I can’t smell it once it’s on the lips, but its scent doesn’t make application very pleasant for me.

How To Use It

Apply it every time you feel your lips getting drier or you want a bit of colour on the lips.

Performance & Personal Opinion

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 is one of my fave tinted lip balms – mainly because the colour actually shows up on the lips! (You’d think that’d be a given, but nope).

One coat provides one soft wash of colour that shows up even on pigmented lips, but if that’s not intense enough for you, you can always build it up.

Yet, no matter how much you apply, the colour remains wearable. It’s a great choice for those who want to try a vampy shade but fear they can’t pull off anything too intense (*raises hand*).

Plus, it’s fairly moisturising. This tinted lip balm leaves my lips soft, smooth, and hydrated for two to three hours, depending on whether I’m having a light snack or not.

But it’s not as rich and moisturising as my favourites lip balms (Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm Shea Butter & Vitamin E SPF 25 and La Roche Posay Cicaplast Levres Barrier Repairing Balm).

They are the lip balms I turn to in winter when I’m trying to prevent or heal chapped lips. Fresh Sugar Berry, instead, is for days when I just want a bit of colour that also offers some hydration.

BUT, it doesn’t provide adequate sun protection.

Please, please, please, don’t rely on it to keep your pout safe from the sun.

Who Is This For?

Anyone looking for a vampy tinted lip balm that provides both colour and hydration.

Who Is This Not For?

  • Chapped lips
  • Sun protection

Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 comes in a sturdy purple packaging that’s as practical as it’s beautiful.

Does Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 Live Up To Its Claims?

A cult-favorite hydrating and smoothing lip balm that offers clear, sheer, or effortless color with long-lasting moisture and essential sun protection. It does NOT offer adequate sun protection. But everything else is true.
Swipe once for a hint of hue; more for buildable color. True.

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 Review & Swatches

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 was an impulse purchase when I was waiting in line at Sephora’s checkout during my recent makeup hauling trip. (The checkout aisle is the most dangerous place in store, I tell ya! All those miniature makeup looking up to you pleading to take them home. I cave pretty much 9 out of 10 times!) I didn’t have time to swatch the tester so I didn’t know what to expect. In my mind, I imagined it to be a sheer peachy brown type of nude that’s probably not going to show up on my pigmented lips but being a collector of Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments, I still wanted one. Read on to find out how Nude performs and whether I guessed it right color-wise!

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

Nude comes encased in the iconic Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment’s matte aluminum tube with a screw-on cap. The packaging is a step more luxury and secure than a typical lip balm’s click lock packaging. It has a signature sweet vanilla-lemon scent that is light and refreshing but it vanishes quickly post application.

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

Nude appears a really nice medium peachy beige nude color with plenty of gold shimmer in the tube but on my naturally pigmented lips, the peachy tone doesn’t translate well due to the sheer formula. What becomes apparent is the creamy and shimmery effect as my lips turn glowy and slightly frosty after application. I do like the finish. I think it makes my lips appear healthier and more youthful overall.

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

The peachy tone is amplified when you layer, but only slightly, as the emollient consistency doesn’t really allow the color to become fully opaque. The shimmery effect is, however, very buildable as you can get close to a near frosty-metallic finish with several coats. I normally like to apply only just a few coats, though, since I’m not much into super frosty lips myself. With a few coats, my lip color is adjusted to a slightly nude tone while still allowing my natural lip color to peek through. It sort of gives me a soft nude-ish lip look with subtle golden luminous glow rather than a full-on, one-dimensional nude that usually washes me out. I find Nude a good alternative to a full-on nude paired with a smokey eye. It’s also a nice and easy color to wear on a fresh-faced makeup kind of day.

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 built up (L) and one pass (R)

Formula-wise, Nude is moisturizing, hydrating, and nourishing but not at the same level as other Sugar Tinted Lip Treatments such as Tulip or Rosé. It is drier in comparison and feel, perhaps due to the insane amount of shimmer. It still glides on easily and smoothly, though, but I’d be mindful not to cake it on as it can and will highlight vertical lip lines and dry flakes. I find lip exfoliating necessary for a flawlessly smooth application.

Natural and active ingredients

  • Sugar to prevent moisture loss
  • A blend of nourishing oils, including meadowfoam and black currant seed oils to moisturize
  • Grapeseed oil to smooth, soften and protect lips from damaging free radicals
  • SPF 15 protection from Octinoxate (7.49%) and Oxybenzone (2%)
Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

Nude leaves lips feeling soft and smooth without that annoying sticky or greasy feel. I find the luminous sheen to help give my lips an illusion of a fuller and healthier lip as seen below. Wear time is somewhere between 1-2 hours which is short but expected from such color and formula. Reapplication will be needed later on in the day to maintain shine and moisture but at least it’s a foolproof color that you can reapply easily!

Wearing Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like Nude on me. It’s sheer enough to be worn anytime, nourishing enough to still promote healthy lips, and shimmery enough to give lips a believable gorgeous, luminous glow. If you want more color impact and shine, you’re probably better off with other colors in the line-up such as Tulip, Ruby, or Berry. But if you are feeling sheer and glowy, then I highly suggest Nude. 🙂

Fresh Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment

The latest from Fresh Beauty is the new Sugar Nude Tinted Lip Treatment ($22.50 for 4.3 g / 0.15 oz). It’s currently available as a Exclusive for VIB/VIB Rouge Members online and at Fresh. com for purchase but will be available at all Fresh retail locations later this spring in May. I ordered mine online and give it a huge thumbs up.

Fresh Sugar Nude is described as a shimmery blush nude tint. It gives a barely there wash of color but has enough pigment to cover my lip entirely with a smooth veil of pearlescent beige shimmer. Before I swatched this I was worried this might be too sheer or be invisible on the lips, but I am happy to report that even though it’s natural, it does show up as a my-lips-but-nude-and-better kind of color.

This appears to be the first Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment that has shimmer and I hope Fresh will add this lovely shimmer to future shades. In the tube it looks like a soft peachy blush beige. There is a gold sheen to it and when you see it swatched in real life you will see champagne pearl like shimmers mixed in too.

Per Fresh, these tinted lip balms contain SPF 15 and the following key ingredients:

  • Sugar is a natural humectant that ensures long-lasting moisture.
  • Meadowfoam seed oil, blackcurrant seed oil, passionflower seed oil, and avocado oil are rich in super moisturizing fatty acids.
  • Vitamin A helps to firm, retexturize, and smooth the skin.
  • Antioxidant grapeseed polyphenols and vitamins C and E provide protection from wrinkle-causing free radicals.
  • Beeswax, an emollient substance with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, softens the skin and enhances elasticity.
  • Carnauba wax, a natural wax that coats the leaves of the Brazilian Carnauba Palm, seals in moisture and acts as a protective barrier to prevent dehydration.

Ingredients: Cera Alba (Beeswax), Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Decyl Esters, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Sucrose Tetrastearate Triacetate, Limnanthes Alba, (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Passiflora Incarnata Seed Oil, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Persea Gratissima, (Avocado) Oil , Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vanillin, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Propyl Gallate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Ci 15850 (Red 7 Lake), Ci 19140 (Yellow 5 Lake), Ci 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Limonene, Citral, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, BHT.

Here it is swatched, photos can’t do this one justice. The color blends in with my skin tone, in real life you can see the shimmer better.

Swatch comparisons:

Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer In the Buff (discontinued, lip swatches here)

I give this a huge thumbs up. Coverage and pigment is similar to that of the discontinued Tom Ford Lip Color Sheers in Pink Dune and In the Buff – sheer but buildable. If you liked either of those, then you will like the new Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. Fresh Sugar Nude is a bit lighter in color due to the pearlescent quality mixed into the lip treatment. You can see the shimmer in the tube better in real life, it glows and is really luminous.

Lasting power is really good for a tinted lip balm. It won’t last through snacks or coffee but if left untouched it stays put for a decent amount of time. I love the hydrating feel and it has that signature Fresh Sugar scent that is sweet, lemony and sugary all at the same time.

Definitely worth checking out. Available now at Sephora and Fresh.

Aritaum Ginger Sugar Tint Lip Balm

Hello Princesses!

Today I’m going to be talking about the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Tint Lip Balm! These little lip balms look so cute, and they are also my first Aritaum products! I have persistently dry lips, so I’m always on the hunt for something that makes my lips look pretty, but also doesn’t dry them out.
“1. High Moisturizing Lip Balm takes care of your dry lips moistly melting down on your lips as soon as it touches to your lips
2. Highly enriched moisturizing oil & natural butter form thick moisturizing layers on the lips.
So it helps dry lips to be moist for a long time.
3. Artificial coloring & Fragrance free
4. Ginger + Orange oil helps to activate skin energy & relax body & soul Sugar + Shea Butter give the strong moisturizing by taking care of dead cells & forming moisturizing layers. “(1)

Ingredients: caprylic/capric triglyceride, squalane, hydrogenated castor oil isostearate, paraffin,  astrocaryum murumuru seed butter,  bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, acrylates/stearyl acrylate/dimethicone methacrylae copolymer, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, diisostearyl malate, HDI/trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, mica, tocopheryl acetate, ethylene/propylene copolymer, synthetic wax, sucrose tetrastearate triacetate,Titanium dioxide (CI 77891), citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, citus auantium bergania (bergamot) fruit oil, citrus limon (lemon) peel oil, polyglyceryl-2 trissostearate, CI 15985, CI 15850, methicone, silica, CI 77491, CI 45380:2, polyhydroxystearic acid, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, trehalose
These lip balms are the same size as your regular lip balms. The colour on the caps accurately reflects the colour of the actual lip balm too which is neat.

The whole tube is full of product which is great, there is no wasted space or excess packaging. There are three colours in the collection, a red a pink and an orange shade. With one swipe these balms provide a sheer wash of colour, but with two or three swipes you can build the colour up quite nicely!

Flame Rose

Flame Rose is a beautiful rose shade. This is my least favourite shade because I think my lips are too light to pull this shade off nicely. Because it is a balm it does move around a little and it settles into my lip lines quite a lot. Since this shade is darker it is much more obvious that it moves around, so I end up with a dark ring of balm around the outside of my lips.
This is a beautiful balm, but it’s not my favourite only because of the way it wears on me. If you have more pigmented lips it probably wouldn’t look so obvious that it settles into the lip lines.

Lovely Pink

Lovely Pink is a light baby pink shade. I was slightly wary of this shade because I thought it might look too pale for me, but it looks very much like my own lips shade but slightly pinker!
This is my favourite shade because it looks the most natural on me! It wears really nicely since it is so close to my own lip colour, you can’t really tell when it’s wearing off.

Dreaming Coral

Dreaming Coral is a sweet coral shade. This shade suits me well too, but it does settle into my lip lines a little too.

But this is still a really pretty colour! I was really disappointed that these balms don’t smell or taste like Ginger, they actually are scented with Orange!

I think the variety of colours is really good within this range, I don’t think for a sheer tint you really need 5 different shades of pink, so I’m really happy with the colour selection. These lip balms are slightly hydrating, but I don’t think they would be super hydrating for those that have very very dry lips. I still use an intense balm at night, and then I’m able to use these tinted balms throughout the day without my lips drying out.

What I Love

– Nice functional packaging
– Great colour selection
– Lightly hydrating
– Very natural looking

What I Don’t Love

– They don’t taste or smell like Ginger, more like Orange
– Won’t be hydrating enough if you have very dry lips
– Darker shade sinks into fine lines on my lips

Final Thoughts

I quite like the Pink and Coral shade from this range! The only reason I don’t like Flame Red so much is because you can see the colour sitting in the fine lines of my lips, and you can also see if wear off throughout the day which I don’t think is very pretty. Other than that, they have a nice colour range, they make my lips look naturally tinted, and provide light hydration. I do wish they were ginger scented though since they are ginger sugar balms!

I would recommend the Aritaum Ginger Sugar Tint Lip Balm to any Princesses that are looking for a lightly hydrating, natural looking lip tint balm!

28 Best Lip Balms and Treatments for Dry Lips 2021

When’s the last time you got really, truly excited about a lip balm? Probably sometime in 2003, when you spent your birthday money on a glittery Limited Too stick or Maybelline Baby Lips (hey, still a classic!) that you immediately lost. Well, the world of balms has come a long way since your middle school days, and today’s formulas are now available tinted or sheer; long-lasting or quick-dry; and cheap or pricey—basically, whatever it is that your lips, and your wallet, have been crying out for. Fresh Rose Sugar Lip Treatment: My favorite summer lip balm!

Fresh Rose Sugar Lip Treatment review, price, demo.

PRICE: 24USD (Around P1,300+)

FROM: Sephora, The Grove, Los Angeles, California

Before Fresh became THE Fresh that a lot are raving about lately because of their high performance, all- natural skin care range and before LVMH bought into the company, their Sugar lip balm was already popular and a go- to of many lip balm lovers; I’ve learned about this through my mom about 5 or 6 years ago; she loved Sugar Lip Treatment in Cherry. I think by the time Fresh became a more buzz- worthy brand, Sugar Lip Treatment was already enjoying cult status as everyone’s favorite luxury lip balm brand.

I’ve tried it recently and so far, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is my favorite summer lip balm because it has SPF, it’s very hydrating yet light, smells divine, and hydrates hours even after the lip balm comes off!

Fresh Rose Sugar Lip Treatment is a best- selling, award- winning lip balm/treatment that provides SPF 15, hydrating finish, and a soft, pretty tint to the lips. The formula has Sugar, which is a powerful humectant, and a medley of moisturizing, protective, and soothing oils namely Grapeseed, Meadowfoam, and Blackcurrant. The range comes in 12 hues.

My mom, still, is a fan of Cherry. I almost went for that shade, but at the same time, I was also choosing between this, Tulip, Orchid, Punch, and Poppy. I decided to go for a very sheerly- tinted balm that I can use on top of tints, under lipstick, or for very soft, natural looks so I went for Rose in the end.

I also love the packaging of this product: soft, brushed, lightweight metal with a screw cover; keeps it in place and prevents accidental staining.

Two layers of Rose

Rose is a soft, very MLBB pink- rose shade; very natural and versatile enough to be used with any lip color.

Texture is a semi- creamy balm with a slight watery feel to it; this is why I love this balm; it feels very lightweight and fresh on the lips.

What makes this lip balm a standout for me is its ability to keep my lips hydrated, soft, and flake- free even 30 minutes after coming off. It’s not a treatment, however, but I love that it doesn’t require me to apply lip balm often as other brands. Plus points for the SPF 15 in the formula as well. Rose has a perfume- like rose scent, but I don’t find it bothersome; it has a lightly sweet taste too, but please don’t eat it!

This is my summer lip balm; it’s been freakishly hot lately, a sign that the warmer months are nigh. There are definitely more affordable tinted lip balms out there with SPF, but Sugar Lip Treatment’s impressive hydrating property is what makes this the perfect summer lip balm for me.

90,000 Lip Balms – NYX Blog

Make-up focuses on aesthetics, but it can be combined with quality care. The best example of a beauty product with a combined effect is a lip balm that protects, moisturizes, models expressive volume and a beautiful natural shade. In our review – the main types of balms, TOP remedies and recommendations for their use.

Moisturizing Lip Balm

Take care of your lips all year round, and a high-quality moisturizing balm is an indispensable tool for any season and climate. Its benefits can hardly be overestimated: the skin saturated with moisture looks well-groomed and soft, decorative products fit perfectly on top of it. Especially demanding on the condition of the lips are trendy matte, wine and nude lipsticks. The use of balm can also be advised for those who love tints. They give a long lasting weightless color finish, but dry the lips with constant use.

Moisturizing lip balms are available in three forms:

  • tube – with a soft body with a lid, supplemented by a universal flat or more convenient beveled applicator, the amount of the product must be squeezed out by hand;
  • lip balm in a jar – has a waxy or gel texture, is consumed sparingly and has a relatively long shelf life, it is best to pick up the product from the jar with a separate lipstick brush – you can add dirt or microbes into it with your fingers;
  • stick – the most convenient and hygienic balm, comes in a case and is applied in the same way as lipstick. In the NYX Professional Makeup collection, this type of product is presented in the Butter Lip Balm line with 8 shades, with a neat finish with a soft gloss and light pigments.

By the way, to achieve the deepest hydration and softness of the skin of the lips, you can once a week before applying the balm, use a soft lip scrub – ready-made from your favorite brand or made from natural ingredients such as sugar, honey or coffee. Thanks to it, the nutrients are better absorbed and will last longer.

Lip Balm

Contrary to the fashion for lips with a contoured “Cupid’s bow”, products with a volume effect remain popular with most girls. Thanks to them, you can make makeup and the whole image more sensual and delicate with minimal effort. To combine aesthetics and quality care, you can use a volumizing balm filler. Plumpers usually contain natural ingredients that are mildly irritating to the lips. These additives include, for example, menthol, peppercorns, cinnamon, ginger. They stimulate microcirculation, blood literally rushes to the lips, making them appear plump and larger. Lip balm, unlike injection procedures, does not pose any threat to health, it gives a short-term, moderately pronounced, and therefore natural effect. Balm with hyaluronic acid contains glycosaminoglycate, which penetrates deep into the skin, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, smoothes and rejuvenates the skin. However, these cosmetics also use “irritants” such as methyl lactate or ginger to increase volume.Such beauty products do not spoil the skin, although from time to time you need to give it a “rest” by choosing caring, moisturizing and nourishing balms.

Tinted lip balm

Colored lip balm is a must have for those who follow the current cosmetic trends. Such products are saturated with light pigments, which create a soft, but noticeable color. When applying them, you do not need to use a contour pencil, so the makeup in general will turn out to be more relaxed and natural. On the lips, a tinted balm looks almost the same as a translucent tint, while it cares for the skin. It may contain vegetable oils, valuable organic extracts, vitamins and other components that retain moisture, soften, improve microcirculation and smooth. In “summer” balms there are almost always UV filters that protect against the negative effects of ultraviolet radiation.

Healing Lip Balm

Why do I need a Healing Lip Balm? First of all, this is a remedy that allows you to restore the condition of the skin with increased dryness or severe damage. They can be caused by a variety of factors: in spring and autumn it is weathering, in winter it is overdrying due to the influence of heating devices and temperature drops outside and in the room, in summer it is ultraviolet light and hot air.

With early injuries, you can feel discomfort, tightness, itching, in more advanced cases, peeling, wrinkles and even deep cracks are noted. When the balm is applied, the dryness goes away instantly. The natural composition saturates the skin with nutrients and moisture, makes it more elastic and stimulates the regeneration processes.A quality product will give noticeable results after 2-3 days of constant use. By the way, a healing balm can be both female and male. In the first case, it is supplemented with a small amount of pigments and may well replace lipstick in daytime makeup. Men’s lip balm – matte and light, it lays down in a thin invisible layer and is absorbed almost instantly.

Sunscreen Lip Balm

In summer, the best lip balm is the one that contains high quality UV filters. The fact is that ultraviolet light, which provokes pigmentation and dehydration of the skin, leads to photoaging. It can manifest as shade and texture problems, dryness and early line wrinkles that make the face look older and make it harder to apply makeup. Avoid all these changes will help all lip balm with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of more than 15-20. This figure corresponds to an average degree of protection, optimal for a typical summer in the central zone.

When relaxing in a hot climate or when visiting a solarium, you must definitely use a product with an SPF of more than 30. Most balms that effectively protect from the sun are available both in a colorless version and with a light natural pigment – as a rule, these are berry shades, muted tones red and cold pink palette. Ideal for summer or gentle nude look.

The main must-have of this fall: lip balm

How to take care of the delicate skin of the lips in the cold season – we figure it out together with a professional.

Expert opinion
Alexander Prokofiev, dermatovenerologist and medical expert of the La Roche-Posay brand

“The skin of the lips is very thin and devoid of sebaceous glands, therefore it is more susceptible to environmental influences. To protect it from adverse factors (dry air, frost, wind, ultraviolet radiation), to avoid dry lips, as well as the appearance of cracks, it is necessary to use special balms that create a protective film on the lips. ”

Lip balms are different and are designed to solve different problems. For example, nourishing balms contain oils and vitamins, due to their dense consistency, they create a barrier and thereby protect from cold and bad weather.Moisturizing balms with a light texture are ideal for summer use. They contain moisturizing ingredients (plant extracts and oils). In addition, summer products must contain SPF filters.

Also, the composition of nourishing and moisturizing balms may differ. But at the same time, they also contain a number of main ingredients: beeswax, aloe vera, vitamins E, C, A, vegetable oils (cocoa, shea butter, apricot, coconut), plant extracts (calendula, lemon balm, chamomile), panthenol.

The balm should NOT contain alcohol, as it dries out the skin. Avoid salicylic acid, it exfoliates the already thin skin of the lips. Undesirable in lip balms and paraffin with petroleum jelly. Since under their film, the skin stops breathing. Also try to choose products that are free of fragrances and dyes, as these are potentially the most common allergens.

In addition to their main job – to moisturize and neutralize flaking and dryness, balms will help in the fight against wrinkles in the lip area. They will saturate the skin with moisture and smooth out wrinkles. Look for balms with hyaluronic acid – it intensely moisturizes and promotes collagen synthesis. In addition, regularly protect your lips from ultraviolet radiation, it is he who dries the skin and breaks down collagen.

For summer or winter use in the mountains, be sure to look for ultraviolet filters in the balms to protect your lips from the sun.

An important step in lip care is a scrub. It is designed to exfoliate dead skin particles and enhance regeneration processes. You need to apply the scrub on dry skin, but before using it, the lips need to be prepared. To do this, take warm water, moisten a towel in it and apply it to your lips, hold it until it cools. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times, and then blot the remaining moisture with a dry cloth. Apply the scrub evenly to the lips and massage the lips in gentle circular motions. Leave it on for 1–2 minutes and then remove the residue with a tissue or rinse with water.Blot lips with a tissue and apply balm. The scrubbing procedure can be carried out 1-2 times a week, but not more often.

You can also exfoliate skin cells with a soft toothbrush. Only when using it, you can not press hard on the lips and make rubbing movements, otherwise you can injure the skin. You can make the scrub yourself. The easiest recipe is to mix equal proportions of sugar, honey and olive oil. You can make a coffee scrub: take coffee grounds and mix with fat sour cream, so the lip care composition is ready.

The balm can be used as a base for lip makeup. But first you need to cleanse your lips and dry, evenly apply a thin layer of balm and wait a while for it to be absorbed. Then outline the contour of the lips with a pencil, if necessary, and apply lipstick. In addition, the balm can simply add shine to the lips – this will appeal to lovers of natural makeup. There are also some balms with light shades.

Those who cannot see their life without lipstick, but whose lips are far from perfect, should pay attention to tint balms. They come in a wide range of colors and have moisturizing, nourishing or healing properties. There is only one drawback of these funds – they cannot create a rich lip color. If you need this type of makeup, then the choice should be stopped on a regular lipstick, before that you prepare your lips.
