Cotton On recalls Michael Jackson clothing in-store and online

Aussie clothing chain Cotton On confirms it’s no longer Michael Jackson-inspired tees and jackets in light of recent doco, Leaving Neverland.

The fallout from controversial documentary Leaving Neverland continues, after Wade Robson and James Safechuck claimed they were sexually abused by pop star Michael Jackson.

In light of the four-hour doco, fans have seen Jackson’s music banned from radio and an episode in which he has a cameo on The Simpsons pulled off-air.

Now, Aussie retailer Cotton On has removed clothing items from its collection bearing Jackson’s face and name.

The decision was enacted across all of its stores, with the clothing branded as “high inventory risk” in a company-wide notice.

“In light of recent events, we have made the ethical decision to remove all Michael Jackson product from our stores and online, effective today,” read the memo.

The voluntary withdrawal was carried out by 4pm Wednesday, after which the clothing that was deemed “not in line with Cotton On Group’s core values” were no longer listed online.

“The decisions we make about the products we sell are informed by global trends and knowing what our customer loves,” read the company statement.

News.com.au reached out to the Cotton On Group for comment.

“I can confirm that Michael Jackson product is no longer available from Cotton On stores (globally),” said Antoinette Marshall, Cotton On’s Corporate Affairs Manager.

“We have nothing further to add.”

Some customers have taken to social media to air their disappointment over the decision.

“Shame on you for pulling this range from store,” posted one commenter.

    “#MJinnocent,” added another.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE restock this! I NEED THIS JACKET! There is WAY MORE DEMAND for MJ merch than big companies realise, and it sucks when major fans like myself are missing out! Please see that there is a demand and make more mj merch available,” one commenter pleaded on an Instagram post.

It’s unclear whether customer complaints have prompted the recall, or whether the company launched a pre-emptive strike.

Regardless, not all employees agree with the move.

“I understand why they recalled all the MJ stuff, because they don’t want a bad rep and Millennials attacking them on Twitter,” one Cotton On staffer told news.com.au.

“But this whole scandal with MJ has been going on for years. It’s not like it’s new.

“If they were worried about what people would think, they shouldn’t [have] put out the Michael Jackson shirts and jackets in the first place (knowing his past history).

“They should have put it on sale like Kylie [Jenner] did with the Jordyn collection,” the staffer added.

The documentary has been at the centre of controversy since it aired.

Not only did it shake the Jackson fandom to its core, but triggered former staff members to break their silence a decade after the King of Pop’s death.

11 mysterious things that happen to us in a dream / AdMe

At night I want to sleep peacefully and recuperate.Nevertheless, it is difficult to find a person who has never faced the strange and unpleasant sensations that accompany falling asleep.

Bright Side decided to talk about sleep disorders and other similar things that remain mysterious to science to this day.

    Sleep paralysis

How it feels: A person wakes up at night and cannot move. Added to this are frightening hallucinations and the feeling that there is a stranger in the room.In ancient times, the state was associated with the machinations of evil spirits.

Why arises: Normally, when we fall asleep, we are paralyzed so that we do not perform actions in a dream. With sleep paralysis, our muscles “turn off” when the brain is still or is not asleep.

Approximately 7% of the population has experienced sleep paralysis at least once (fact). They say this happens more often while sleeping on your back.

    Hypnagogic hallucinations

How it feels: When a person is on the fine line between sleep and wakefulness, he, being conscious, sees uncontrollable pictures in front of his eyes. They are often scary faces and fantastic creatures.

Why: This is one of the few types of hallucinations that visit mentally healthy people. Usually children encounter them (fact), and this may be the reason why they do not want to go to bed. Often such hallucinations occur due to stress and simply in people with a good imagination. May appear if you go to bed drunk.

    Conversations in a dream

How it feels: Usually, a person suffering from dubiousness (speaking in a dream) does not even know about it.This condition is absolutely not dangerous psychologically. Unless a person with such a problem is worried that he blabbed something superfluous.

From what arises: More often men and children have doubts (fact). The reason is the notorious stress. The human psyche is trying to resist what he does not agree with in reality.

    Sleep within sleep

How it feels: A person sees a dream, then wakes up, but strange things continue to happen to him.It turns out that he just dreamed that he woke up. The theme of such dreams was raised in the movie “Inception”. After that, it turned out that many people experienced this.

Where does it arise from: Esotericists believe that if you had such a dream, this indicates your predisposition to spiritual practices. But mainstream science cannot explain why this is happening.

    Somnambulism

How it feels: This state is reversed to sleep paralysis – consciousness is asleep, but muscle paralysis does not occur. In a dream, people can walk, clean or even leave the house, and this is often very dangerous. The next morning people don’t remember anything.

What arises from: Somnambulism occurs in approximately 4.6-10.3% of the population, while children are more likely to suffer from it (fact). The cause of sleepwalking is still unknown, as are the methods of treatment.

    Exploding Head Syndrome

How it feels: A person wakes up with the sensation of a loud explosion or pop. Sometimes it seems that the sound was so loud that you can go deaf.It may be accompanied by a growing hum or flash. The phenomenon is not dangerous, but it causes fear in people, some think that they have had a stroke.

From which arises: For some reason, there is a surge of neural activity in the parts of the brain responsible for processing sound (fact). Sometimes the syndrome manifests itself against the background of insomnia or a change in time zone during long flights.

    Sleep apnea

How it feels: Sleep apnea is a sudden stop of breathing during sleep. At the same time, the person wakes up. Sleep quality decreases, the brain experiences oxygen starvation, and it becomes difficult to get enough sleep. During an attack, pressure spikes, which can cause heart problems.

What causes: During sleep, the muscles of the pharynx relax, in some this leads to the blockage of the airways. At risk are people with obesity, smokers, the elderly. By the way, playing the Australian didgeridoo pipe helps with apnea (fact).

    Recurring dreams

How it feels: Strange dreams that constantly reproduce the same plot were probably dreamed by everyone.

From which it arises: Psychologists believe that with the help of such dreams, the brain tries to draw our attention to events that we are not aware of. These plots will return until the situation is resolved (fact).

    Falling into bed

How it feels: Sometimes it seems to us that we were thrown into bed from a height, we shudder and wake up. Sometimes before that we dream that we are flying or stumbling and falling – a rather unpleasant sensation.

From what arises: The state of sleep is somewhat reminiscent of death – heart rate and respiration slow down, muscle tone decreases. The brain is “frightened”, perceives it as real death and checks whether the person is alive by sending impulses to the muscles.

    Astral exit

How it feels: A neuropsychological phenomenon in which a person, staying between sleep and wakefulness, sees himself from the outside. Among mystics and occultists it is considered as confirmation of the existence of the soul.

Where does it arise from: The phenomenon is very difficult to study. While scientists know that the illusion of leaving the body really exists, it is not clear how it works and why it arises. How to deal with this is also unclear. Some people even deliberately enter this state in order to expand the boundaries of their cognitive capabilities.

    Sudden illumination during sleep

How it feels: Sometimes we cannot find a solution to a problem for a long time, we constantly think about it.And here, in a dream, the brain itself tells us a clue, the main thing is to remember it.

Everyone knows the example of Dmitry Mendeleev, who fought to create a periodic system and once saw it in a dream. A similar story happened to the chemist Kekule – he saw the formula of benzene in a dream.

From what arises: Sometimes our subconscious already knows the answer, although it has not yet reached consciousness. It was then, right during sleep, that illumination comes. What can I say, sometimes sleep also brings such pleasant unexpected bonuses.

Strange things people do in their sleep – BBC Ukrainian

Recently, more and more people turn to doctors with complaints of sleep disorders. And some of them do very unusual things at night.

The number of patients in clinics specializing in such disorders is growing every year.

This is not surprising. More than 30% of the UK population suffers from insomnia or other sleep disorders, according to the Mental Health Organization. And these disorders can have a serious impact on human health.

Clinics report that up to 50 new patients refer to them per week. For some establishments, this is five times more than ten years ago. This boom is explained by the fact that people now know more about sleep disorders and more often report them to doctors.

Clinics have also begun to encounter new unusual sleep behaviors, with some disorders becoming increasingly common.Let’s consider them in more detail.

    Sending messages

What happens in the head of a sleeping person remains a mystery to science

Technologies are currently playing a huge role in people’s lives, so it is not surprising that experts are fixing new sleep disorders associated with them.

More and more people are complaining about sending text messages in their sleep, says Dr. Kirsty Anderson, head of the Sleep Neurology Service at the Newcastle Public Health Service Foundation.

This is not surprising when you consider how many Britons use mobile phones today – 92%, according to the regulator Ofcom. Many, falling asleep, put the phone next to them.

“People often repeat in their dreams the things they do during the day,” says Ms. Anderson.

This disorder belongs to a series of so-called parasomnias: unconscious behavior during sleep.

How much sleep does anyone need?

    • for a person – from 5 to 11 hours

    • python – 18 hours

    • cat – 12.1 hours

    • sheep – 3.8 hours

    • giraffe – 1.9 hours

It can be quite harmless, say, when a person’s eyes open in a dream, or it can take a very dangerous turn, for example, when a sleepwalker drives out somewhere in a car.One of Dr. Anderson’s patients, in his sleep, carefully disassembled his grandfather’s watch.

What happens in the brain during such episodes is still a mystery. There is little research on this topic, mainly because of the difficulties in collecting data.

“The problem is that people rarely exhibit this behavior in a clinic setting,” says Dr. Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Clinic. at home. “

The good news is that the messages that people send in their sleep are often meaningless. Although people copy the daytime behavior in a dream, the nighttime behavior is not as accurate and accurate.

    Food

Empty bags and a dirty kitchen – this is a picture that sleepwalkers often find in the morning. Usually, nighttime snacks are not considered a serious problem, but in some severe cases, doctors still diagnose nighttime eating syndrome.

Those who had previously exhausted themselves with hunger or were on a diet are more likely to night gluttony

The awareness of sleep disorders as a disease, again, has led to an increase in the number of patients with this problem.

They can raid the refrigerator several times during the night, but remember nothing in the morning. Victims of the disease not only lack sleep, but also gain excess weight, which causes them mental and physical suffering. In addition, they run the risk of choking on food in their sleep.

This disorder is also an example of parasomnia, which, according to Ms Anderson, affects half a million Britons. Often, nighttime snacks are associated with what happens to a person during the day.

“Sleepwalkers often do things that make sense, such as eating in their sleep, if they went to bed without dinner, or are on a diet,” says Ms. Anderson.

In more difficult cases, for example, when someone prepares food for themselves at night, the person actually does not sleep, but in the morning he does not remember what he was doing. It’s a form of amnesia, says Professor Jim Horn of the Sleep Research Center at Loughborough University.

“These people are in a state of confusion. In such severe cases, the problem is not even related to sleep. It can be the result of stress, for example.”

    Sex

Until recently, the public knew little about sexomnia – a condition where people have sex in their sleep. Sleep experts say they have researched very little of it, although complaints about it are on the rise.

Sexomnia worsens during stress or after taking drugs or alcohol. The forms of its expression – from minimal movements to full sexual intercourse, in some cases – with serious consequences.

Sexomnia most often occurs when a person is in a state of so-called “deep sleep”

Mr. Idzikowski had to act as an expert in rape-related trials.

He says sexsomnia is a form of parasomnia. Most often it occurs when a person is in a state of so-called “deep sleep”, when his thinking and consciousness are turned off, and the parts of the brain that are responsible for basic instincts, including sex drive, remain active.

“This is an instinctive behavior, a person at this time is not aware of his actions, – says Idzikowski. – During a deep sleep, a person does not work either morality or reason.I am constantly surprised that people live with these problems for years and often do not realize that they can be solved. “

    Respiratory arrest

Cessation of breathing during sleep is often caused by a disease called obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This disorder is not new, but doctors are referring more of these patients to sleep clinics. Since obesity is one of the factors in its appearance, experts predict the further spread of the disorder.

OSA, which is usually accompanied by loud snoring, is a condition in which the muscles of the airways sag in people, blocking the passage of air into the lungs. One of the participants in the new BBC television project “Good Night Britain” was examined and found out that his breathing regularly stops in his sleep – for a period of up to 26 seconds.

“It really scared me, – says 47-year-old Paul Osbury. – It was very scary to find out that you did not breathe for a long time.I knew I was snoring in my sleep, but the problem was much deeper. “

Mr. Osbury, who works as a truck driver, could wake up from holding his breath up to 50 times an hour. And some in extreme cases wake up up to 80 times, says Idzikowski.

“Those who suffer from this disorder often do not remember that they woke up, because the connection between the brain and the body at this moment is insufficient. The person wakes up, but does not realize it.It takes about a minute for the brain to establish a connection with the body and the person realizes that he is awake. Therefore, people with OSA have a very short deep sleep phase, and it is during this phase that the body recovers its strength. Therefore, in the morning these people often feel very tired, “says Mr. Idzikowski.

If a person with this disorder works with machines, it can be disastrous. Osbury was prescribed a special sleep mask – and it helped him.

    Head Explosion Syndrome

Head Explosion Syndrome is painless and harmless, but can be seriously frightening

Imagine: you are peacefully falling asleep, and suddenly – a bomb exploded in your head. This is the so-called “head explosion syndrome”.

This is another example of parasomnia. Patients say that the sound in their head resembles the explosion of a projectile, thunder, or a shot. The person is not in pain, but it also does not add to a good mood. Some rush to the windows because they think there was an explosion somewhere nearby.

Some experts believe that this syndrome is very rare, but Ms Anderson has encountered several such cases in recent years. This is the sound equivalent of the sensation known to most of us when, while falling asleep, you suddenly wake up from a sharp jolt and the sensation of falling.

“People fall asleep and suddenly hear some loud bang or explosion, and then they realize that no one else has heard it. Sometimes people are woken up by a flash of light. This is not a serious violation, and most often we just calm down such patients. Medications are prescribed. only if people are very worried about this condition and are afraid to fall asleep. “

In most cases, cotton disturbs people systematically. But the syndrome can last for years and reduce the quality of life of patients.

Swearing at neighbors behind the wall, the roar of cars outside the window, the ticking of a clock outside the window However, some noises go beyond our perception and at the same time have a much more destructive effect on our health. The RIA Real Estate website turned to experts for help to find out what sounds we really need to be afraid of and why we need to strive for absolute silence.Invisible Enemy City residents live all day in noise: cars and the subway, loud equipment, rearranging furniture at neighbors and repairing the road under the window. Even a slight noise with regular exposure will negatively affect the psyche, hearing, and the nervous system. And if the sounds are loud, even the cardiovascular or hormonal systems may suffer, says Sergey Sysoev, head of the department of independent environmental expertise of EcoStandard group. Singer and voice coach Nina Vedenina-Meerson agrees with the expert, adding that to the sounds that endanger health of our body and nervous system, include the hum of an elevator, construction noises, the sounds of cars, the noise of household appliances (such as a refrigerator or washing machine), “ticking” of bulbs, dripping water, whistling / howling of wind through the cracks. However, the interlocutor of the agency draws attention to the fact that if the same water just flows, it will have a wonderful effect on us. “Natural sounds are a good soothing for us. Our psyche responds to them with peace of mind. But if only they are not prohibitively loud,” she explains. In turn, Sysoev, among the harmful and even dangerous noises, distinguishes infrasound and night noise. “Infrasound is low frequencies up to 16 Hz, indistinguishable to human hearing, but negatively affecting health. Infrasound can be felt as vibration in the air, similar to a hum, but excess can only be detected using special equipment,” the expert explains.Infrasound comes from engineering equipment, power lines and even from busy highways, but it can also occur in natural environments, for example, during wind erosion of rocks and stones. According to the agency’s interlocutor, exceeding the permissible level of infrasound can cause a person to feel nausea, dizziness, headache. and a growing sense of fear that escalates into panic. Regular exposure to infrasound can lead to changes in blood pressure and heart rate, disruption of the vestibular functions of the brain, and even disruption of the gastrointestinal tract.People over 50 are especially susceptible to the effects of infrasound. The first effects of exposure to nighttime noise are sleep disturbance and irritability. Noise at night can also lead to high blood pressure, even if the person does not wake up, he notes. Secret knowledge about noise Irritants and harmonious sounds are universal for everyone, when it comes to people with a healthy psyche, draws attention to Nina Vedenina-Meerson. So, the murmur of water, the light chirping of birds (just light!), The noise of foliage, rain, various music, calm speech, the purr of a cat has a beneficial effect on humans.Whereas aggressive screams and growling music from behind the wall will be annoying. However, there is an important caveat. “If the psyche is shattered, anything annoys. If everything is in order, we can pass almost any sound deaf. And here is a dangerous thing: with our ears (brain) we pass sound, but the body feels negative vibrations that harm us. However,” , we can hide from external stimuli, but there is one from which we cannot escape, and it has the most direct influence on us – this is our voice, “explains the voice trainer. In this case, the voice trainer recommends to monitor your sound and try to keep your voice even, not spasmodic, but not monotonous and boring. He should be soft, at the same time confident and short. Speech should not be fast and with soft drawn-out endings, intoning up, not down – then it will be benevolent and not destructive. Not everything is so simple and with harsh, aggressive sounds. For example, in the form of noise, that is, random sound vibrations, like a neighbor’s swearing behind a wall, they cause discomfort. But in the form of music, even the most “harsh”, they can be liked. “Shut up” the source To the question “Is it necessary, in principle, to strive for maximum silence in the apartment?” experts answer unequivocally “yes”. However, you can deal with noise in different ways. If the source of the noise is quite specific and understandable, then you need to try to eliminate it. It is important to remember here that technogenic and social sources of noise are standardized in different ways, referring to different sections of the legislation, Sysoev notes. “Man-made noise from equipment, vehicles or construction sites is regulated by sanitary and hygienic standards.Loud behavior of neighbors, singing, crying children, barking dogs, music and other similar sounds, in turn, are regulated by administrative rules. In practice, this means that in the first case, it is necessary to call environmental specialists to conduct an acoustic examination, and in the second case, law enforcement agencies. Dealing with loud neighbors and drunken screams under the window is the duty of the district police officer, not environmentalists, “the agency’s interlocutor argues. The easiest way is to deal with the sources of unpleasant sound inside the apartment, which are often household appliances and lamps. They can either be replaced, or adjusted, or completely abandoned if possible. Shield and barrier If the source of external noise cannot be eliminated or corrected, then you need to protect yourself as much as possible from sound waves, reducing their penetration into the apartment to a minimum. So, when considering windows as a way to protect against street noise, the expert advises to pay attention to several important parameters. First, the correct double-glazed window must include soundproofed triplex glass. It consists of two layers of glass and a PVB film (polyvinyl butyral film) between them.Triplex glass can more than double the level of noise penetration, Zayonchkovsky notes. Secondly, the thickness of the glasses in the profile should be different. The fact is that glasses of different thickness resonate at different frequencies, so that when sound waves pass through them, there is no summation of resonances and doubling of resonance noise, whereas in the case of two or three glasses of the same thickness, resonances add up and the “noise” of the window is significant increases. Thirdly, it is better to choose glass of increased thickness (optimally 5-6 mm), since the thicker the glass, the more rigid the acoustic membrane it is and the more difficult it is for the sound wave to drive it into resonance. As for the material of the profile itself, the Ekookon expert notes its advantages both for PVC profiles and for wooden profile systems. However, at the same time, he clarifies that in reality the degree of noise protection is much more than the material of the profile (PVC or wood), influenced by the quality and quantity of sealing contours, which prevent the direct passage of the sound wave. “Let us recall the old Soviet wooden frames, where the seals and the tightness of the sash porch were not a class, and along with them there was no decent sound insulation,” says Zayonchkovsky.Voluntary “deafness” The noise in the apartment itself can be divided into at least two types – airborne, propagating through the air, and structural, propagating through the structure of the house, notes Nikolai Efimenko, commercial director of the EchoKor project. Protecting yourself from noise in urban housing is not easy and definitely not cheap. Real soundproofing solutions include building additional partitions decoupled from walls, ceilings and floors. That is, this is the construction of an isolated room in an existing room.Other solutions that do not cover the entire perimeter of the room are ineffective, emphasizes the agency’s interlocutor, while he draws attention to the fact that both sound insulation and sound absorption are needed for an apartment. “First, we need to resolve the issue of sound insulation, even at the stage of construction and repair, and then think about sound absorption, that is, about acoustic comfort,” explains Efimenko. But often apartment owners realize the need for sound insulation at the stage when the renovation is done. Then architectural acoustics comes to the rescue, namely, special sound-absorbing decorative panels, from which the sound will not repel, as from hard surfaces. For example, whole panels or design compositions can be assembled from the EchoKor panels, Efimenko points out. Sound-absorbing panels, according to the expert, can reduce the background noise level, promote speech intelligibility and at the same time decorate the apartment, which, of course, in the complex will have a positive effect on the condition To summarize, experts emphasize that it is impossible to make an apartment as quiet as in a submarine just by installing glass or installing sound-absorbing panels.”The complete (or almost complete) insulation of an apartment from external noise depends on a combination of a number of factors. In addition to the design of the windows, the material of the walls of the building also plays an important role,” says an expert at Ekookon. He explains that the transmission of sound depends on the ability of sound waves to “rock” the obstacle. Hence, the conclusion is obvious that it is more difficult to swing a heavier and more rigid material: a brick wall will better protect against sound than the walls of a frame house. This is on the one hand. On the other hand, having penetrated into the material, the sound wave behaves differently.Dense, homogeneous materials conduct sound much better than porous or fibrous structures. In addition, the degree of sound insulation is highly dependent on the frequency of the sound, and different materials behave differently. In other words, some are better at withstanding high-frequency noise, others with low-frequency noise, explains Zayonchkovsky. So here we need a comprehensive expert assessment of each specific building and the situation in an individual apartment. In particular, the quality of sound insulation is checked: when new buildings are commissioned, in case of violation of sound insulation during renovation work, as well as if residents are suspected of non-compliance with sound insulation standards from neighbors from above, Sysoev from EcoStandard group points out.In this case, in order to conduct acoustic studies, the neighbor from above should not be against checking and agree to let metering specialists into his apartment. Of course, he has every right not to do this, but this does not prevent the neighbor from below from applying for an examination only on the basis of his suspicions.

Don’t stomp like elephants! How to protect your apartment from unnecessary noise Neighbors stomp, drop things on the floor and listen to loud music, and their children scream and run loudly right overhead. All these problems are well known to almost any resident of an apartment building. The site “RIA Real Estate” decided to talk about how you can solve the problem of soundproofing in an apartment.

In turn, Sysoev, among the harmful and even dangerous noises, distinguishes infrasound and night noise.

People over 50 are especially susceptible to the effects of infrasound.

“As for the noises at night, their harm is caused by the natural property of a person to react more strongly to sounds at night.Allowed noise levels for day and night differ for a reason – at night and with closed eyes, hearing sharpens compared to wakefulness. That is why at night we are more likely to wake up sharply from a sound that would seem less loud to us during the day, “Sysoev says.

The first consequences of exposure to nighttime noise are sleep disturbance and irritability. noise can also lead to high blood pressure, even if the person does not wake up, he notes.

For example, in female voices, creak, squeak, squeal, choking, aggressive rudeness often prevail. With such a voice they usually press, scold, whine, swear, in general, push them away, “Vedenina-Meerson says.

Window on the road: how to live comfortably in an apartment with windows on the highway Noise, dust, annoying light – all this will be provided to the owners of apartments, whose windows overlook the highway. Protecting yourself from noise in urban housing is not easy and definitely not cheap. Real soundproofing solutions include building additional partitions decoupled from walls, ceilings and floors. That is, this is the construction of an isolated room in an existing room. Other solutions that do not cover the entire perimeter of the premises are ineffective, the agency’s interlocutor emphasizes.

At the same time, he draws attention to the fact that both sound insulation and sound absorption are needed for an apartment.

Sound-absorbing panels, according to the expert, can reduce the level of background noise, promote speech intelligibility and at the same time decorate the apartment, which, of course, in the complex will have a positive effect on the state of the nervous system of the household.

Of course, it is extremely difficult to independently choose the optimal sound insulation or sound absorption system for a particular apartment. In this matter, it is better to contact specialists. For these purposes, you can visit specialized exhibitions. So, from 15 to 19 May in Moscow in the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” (Manezhnaya Square, 1) will be held an international exhibition of architecture and design “ARCH Moscow”, where you can communicate with architects, designers and engineers.

    Silence is a delicate thing

Summing up, experts emphasize that it will not be possible to make an apartment as quiet as in a submarine just by installing glass or installing sound-absorbing panels.

“Complete (or almost complete) insulation of an apartment from external noise depends on a combination of a number of factors. In addition to the design of the windows, the material of the walls of the building also plays an important role,” says the Ekookon expert.

He explains that the transmission of sound depends on the ability of the sound wave to “rock” the obstacle. Hence, the conclusion is obvious that it is more difficult to swing a heavier and more rigid material: a brick wall will better protect against sound than the walls of a frame house. This is on the one hand.On the other hand, having penetrated into the material, the sound wave behaves differently. Dense, homogeneous materials conduct sound much better than porous or fibrous structures.

In particular, the quality of sound insulation is checked: when new buildings are commissioned, in case of violation of sound insulation during renovation work, as well as if residents are suspected of non-compliance with sound insulation standards from neighbors from above, Sysoev from EcoStandard group points out.

“Sometimes during repairs, residents decide to add heights to the ceilings in an apartment due to what they think are” extra “layers of the floor – with sand or sawdust. Indeed, removing them, you can win 10-20 cm, but in this case, the floor covering is laid directly on concrete, without any sound-absorbing layers. Each step on such a floor will be clearly and loudly heard by the neighbors from below, “Sysoev gives an example.

    Sergey Sysoev

Head of the Department of Independent Environmental Expertise EcoStandard group

Of course, he has every right not to do this, but this does not prevent the neighbor from below from applying for an examination only on the basis of his suspicions.

13 strange things that women love

According to the data given in the textbook of criminology edited by Academician V.N.Kudryavtsev and Professor V.E. Eminov, of the total number of murders committed in our country, only 7% were carried out by women … The percentage of violent crimes committed by women in general is higher, but still several times less than male indicators. When polling the audience about their preferred genres of cinema, women traditionally indicate their love for action films three times less often than men, while films about war interest them four times less than we do.On the other hand, women in almost all countries of the world are twice as likely as we are to participate in antiwar rallies (if you do not take Muslim countries, where women’s street activity is often very limited at all).

    12. Crying

This female peacefulness is somewhat at odds with the theory generally accepted among ethnographers that the era of matriarchy, no matter what territory it took place, was always more barbaric than the patriarchal system that replaced it. For example, it was matriarchy that was characterized by mass sacrifices of children, which were gradually prohibited during the transition to the patriarchal tradition.W. Graves in his “Myths of Ancient Greece”, however, provides evidence that matriarchy in general became possible only because women, exterminating a significant part of newborn boys, minimized the number of strong and aggressive men, and therefore could further control them … True, this made matriarchal tribes vulnerable to the invasion of aliens from tribes in which such anti-male breeding work was not carried out. The ability to cry in many women slows down with age, just as it does in men.The lacrimal glands, not receiving proper training, fall into a kind of suspended animation – in order to awaken again by the time of complete attenuation of fertility and the corresponding state of the hormonal background. But there are also a considerable number of women who are perfectly able to cry even at thirty, as at three years old – due to regular exercises in this genre. Moreover, for this, they do not have to be women of an unhappy fate: about 50 percent of women experience during crying a feeling of not only quick relief, but also physical pleasure, so they often provoke tears themselves by watching sentimental films or making you scandals about what a heartless bastard you are.All this is quite understandable from a physiological point of view. The breakdown products of some hormones (for example, adrenaline) leave our body with tears, causing unpleasant sensations at their high concentration. Crying itself directly stimulates the production of endorphins and dopamine – quite an invigorating cocktail. By the way, we would also have been able to indulge in “White Bima Black Ear”, if in childhood we had not been hammered into our heads that boys are ashamed to cry.

    Fashion trend: organic clothing

At first, the whole world was captured by the fashion for organic food, the next “green” cosmetics, now the hour of the fashionable wardrobe has come.Today the prefix “eco” embodies one of the most striking fashion trends. And if you are not ready to become a vegetarian and you do not want to join Greenpeace promotions either, then you can contribute to saving the planet by dressing in clothes made from organic fabrics. Moreover, wearing clothes made from organic fabrics is a new fashion trend that is gaining momentum every day.

To the origins of eco-fashion …

The origins of the green trend are to be found in the 70s, when hippies hungry for freedom and love first appeared. They became the “ancestors” of eco-fashion, formulating a new postulate: naturalness is real fashion. Easily and with a smile, they created the impulse from which such global trends as a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating were born. And fashion, as a bright indicator of social processes, simply could not pass by the green revolution.

Designer Linda Loudermilk has the title of pioneer in the fashionable eco-chronicle as a pioneer. In 2002, it was she who presented to the public a whole green collection. The audience applauded, which means that the green trend has received the green light in the fashion world. Brand after brand began to give the green theme a place in their collections. Clothes and footwear made of cotton, linen, bamboo and hemp, grown without pesticides, as well as from organic materials, began to appear in the collections of Stella McCartney, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan, Levi’s, Timberland, Nike, H&M and other brands.

Linda Laudemilk’s endeavor may have been more PR in nature than a sincere desire to conserve the planet’s resources, but it worked.Today, no major brand can ignore the eco-trend, and along with the traditional fashion week in New York, The Green Shows “eco-week” is taking place. Russian fashionistas are also slowly turning green, however, so far only overseas designers can offer a decent selection of clothing made from organic fabrics. Let’s find out in more detail what eco-fashion is … And is it worth becoming a fan of it?

Who is awarded the eco prefix?

    “Material” side of the issue

Eco-clothes are made only from natural and environmentally friendly raw materials grown without pesticides, insecticides and other components harmful to health.Today, for the production of organic fabrics, both well-known organic fibers are used ─ cotton, flax and wool, as well as easily renewable and non-scarce plants ─ nettle, bamboo, algae, hemp, eucalyptus, corn. When it comes to organic wool, this means that sheep and other animals are combed by hand, cleaned with mild detergents and taken care of in every possible way.

Clothes, footwear and accessories are also made from recycled synthetic waste products (car tires, plastic bottles).

Handmade clothing (knitted or hand-sewn), the use of second hand and vintage clothing, as well as alteration of old things using fabric, fibers and metal are encouraged.

Custom-made clothing occupies a special place in eco-fashion, since it is considered to be of better quality, and therefore the consumer wears it longer, reducing the need to buy new things.

    Global Organic Textile Standard

(At least 70% of natural wool, cotton, linen and silk fibers must come from “BIO sources”)

    Green Manufacturing Process

In the process of processing materials, only natural dyes are used, for example, powders of natural minerals, pollen, berry juices and others.Chemical dyes and bleaches are completely excluded. Also, an important role is played by the ethical side of the production issue – the Fair Trade principle (fair treatment of each participant in the production process). All production must comply with international labor standards, which imply the observance of workers’ rights, the prohibition of the exploitation of minors and the prohibition of child labor.

Materials that will not pass the green face control

Natural leather and fabrics of animal origin (all types of leather, ivory, fur, whalebone, horsehair and others) are not used in the production of eco-clothes and footwear. For example, in the manufacture of shoes, natural materials are replaced by artificial ones, for example, vegetable leather, which is obtained from the juice of the Hevea plant (from the Amazon).

    Caring for the environment

Eco-clothing must meet the concept of biodegradable, that is, it must decompose (rot) so as not to litter the planet. Clothing and accessories made from recycled materials (this can be recycled and synthetics) are also called upon to reduce the level of pollution of the planet. So, shoes can appear from car tires, and a fashionable bag from plastic bottles.

    Eco-price – fair price

The prefix “eco” implies that the manufacturer sets fair prices for goods that correspond to real production costs and are not aimed at generating excess profits.

    Eco-fabrics: who is in what

Eco-fabrics have very attractive “useful properties”, however, in the forefront I would like to highlight such a general useful property as hypoallergenicity. Indeed, today already 20% of Muscovites suffer from various allergic reactions, and this figure is growing rapidly.According to doctors, one of the reasons is clothing made from fabrics that are impregnated with chemicals. Therefore, if you managed to join the ranks of allergy sufferers, then the eco-trend is definitely your trend. Now let’s sort out the fabrics for their useful properties.

    Organic fabric collection

Organic cotton is perhaps the most versatile and popular eco-fabric among designers. Thanks to the gentle collection and processing, organic cotton has a higher quality and a lighter structure, and it is also very pleasant to the touch. It is very comfortable to wear clothes made of such cotton: in summer it is cool, in winter it is cozy. However, organic cotton is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye from production cotton, but there is an important point. According to Greenpeace, 20% of pesticides and 22% of insecticides produced worldwide are used in cotton. This means that every cotton thing has a substantial share of chemistry.

    Organic cotton long dress

Bamboo fabric is favorably distinguished by the same environmental friendliness, softness, strength and lightness. It is also able to maintain optimal heat transfer and protect against UV radiation and bacteria.

    Organic bamboo dress

Linen fabric has antibacterial properties, helps to improve blood circulation in the body and increase vitality. Due to its excellent hygroscopic properties, flax is especially popular in summer collections.

Natural silk is very light and pleasant to the touch, able to simultaneously dry and warm the skin (ideal for people with excessive sweating), and is also useful for people with circulatory disorders.

    Organic silk dress

Wool possesses excellent heat-shielding properties, retains heat well, and cashmere fabric amazes with its incredible lightness and pleasant to the touch.

Nettle fabric has good wear resistance, antistatic, antiseptic and thermo-regulating properties. Visually, this fabric is similar to linen, but it has a glossy shine (it intensifies after each wash).

    Nobody is perfect.Disadvantages of eco-fabrics

It is more difficult to care for natural fabrics than for synthetic ones, where practical scientists have put their hand. True, for many, the “capriciousness” of eco-fabrics is justified by their useful properties. After all, the main idea of eco-fashion is to take care of your health and reduce consumption by choosing more wear-resistant and high-quality things. However, everyone has the right to know about the shortcomings of eco-fabrics.

Be prepared for the fact that natural silk is strongly wrinkled, after a careless wash it can shed and is afraid of prolonged exposure to the sun (fading).Natural cotton also wrinkles a lot and needs to be dried carefully to avoid stretching things. Natural linen not only crumples strongly and preserves creases in a harmful way (it remains even after washing and ironing). But corn cloth cannot be wetted at all, but this did not stop Armani (and mods too).

Naturally, only eco-friendly powders should be used to wash clothes made from organic fabrics (by the way, organic fabrics get dirty less, you need to wash less often). Of course, big brands use sustainable fabric handling techniques to counteract these problems, however, this can affect the price of the final product. In defense of eco-fabrics, it should be said that with careful care, they will last longer than their synthetic counterparts.

    Organic hemp clothing

Why is it so expensive. And is it always expensive?

Let’s look at this issue using organic cotton as an example. According to statistics, organic cotton accounts for only 0.1% of the total volume (the whole world), and therefore it costs more than industrial cotton. Its production is costly and time consuming. That is why almost all manufacturers produce eco-fabrics within the framework of a special line, concentrating most of their capacity on the production of industrial cotton, which, of course, is more popular. In the production of eco-fabrics, they have to regularly wash the weaving conveyor (harmful substances from the production of industrial cotton settle on it), have non-toxic dyes, periodically undergo certification to obtain eco-certificates, and fulfill a number of other conditions.

All this naturally increases the value of organic fabrics. However, large brands manage to delight customers with affordable prices (due to high circulation). For example, at People Tree, an organic cotton dress costs a reasonable £ 27.00 (at the rate of 08/07/2013 ─ 1,364 rubles). Also, a large selection of clothing made from organic fabrics is presented in the overseas store FASHION-CONSCIENCE.COM. The cost of things varies from £ 90,019 20 90,020 to £ 90,019 140 90,020.

What about the “green” in Russia?

As for Russia, we simply do not have large production facilities. At the same time, foreign manufacturers of eco-fabrics do not attend Russian exhibitions and are not interested in supplies, especially considering the peculiarities of the work of domestic customs. As a result, Russian designers wishing to receive eco-fabrics from abroad have to go to the manufacturer and independently resolve delivery issues. That is why domestic eco-clothing is an expensive business. So, if in a foreign online store People Tree for £ 53.55 (at the exchange rate for 08/07/2013 ─ 2,704 rubles) you can buy a dress made of organic cotton, then in a Russian eco-fabric store this money will not even be enough to buy a sufficient amount of fabric. what to say about the final product.

Moreover, judging by the Russian Eco Fashion Week, domestic eco-designers can be counted on one hand, besides, they are more specialized in artificial furs or other areas, giving eco-fashion a modest place. Strange, but the most famous Russian eco-designers of Eco Fashion Week did not honor their attention (their list is presented at the end of the article).

The circulation of Russian eco-collections is usually 10-50 pieces, which does not allow reducing prices, as large brands do (due to high circulation).By the way, you can also evaluate the diversity and colorfulness of the Russian “eco” on the website.

    Russian Eco Fashion Week

Is there a demand for eco-fashion in Russia?

Of course, the demand for eco-clothes among Russian shoppers is simply ridiculous compared to the overseas market, but it still exists. And, given the modest selection of Russian eco-brands and their offers, the “green” shopper buys clothes, shoes and accessories on foreign online sites, while the advanced ones go to such large mass-market chains as Zara and H&M.

    Synthetics: give rehabilitation

Modern technologies make it possible to create synthetic fabrics, which are now almost as good as organic ones in their hygienic properties. Synthetics today also allow the skin to breathe, protects against precipitation, selectively removes moisture from the body and can warm no worse than fluff and silk, and cool better than silk. At the same time, it is easier to care for synthetic fabrics than for organic ones. By the way, when playing sports and traveling, high-tech synthetics can become a better choice than natural ones. And here everyone has the right to make their choice.

    Sick question: genuine “eco”

The growing popularity of clothing made from organic fabrics naturally gives rise to a great desire among some brands to get super profits. Such brands pass off their clothes as “eco”, although in fact all models are made from more affordable industrial cotton and other materials that do not meet environmental requirements. And for those who choose eco-clothes not only for fashion, but also for ethical reasons, it will be interesting to know that some “fur” brands (one of them is Urban Outfitters) were caught trying to pass off natural furs as synthetic ones.By the way, honesty is one of the most important tenets of sustainable fashion.

    How to avoid counterfeiting

Garments made from organic fabrics must be labeled “Made Organically 100% grown Cotton”. Do not confuse with labels such as “100% cotton” or “100% linen” (we are talking about the composition of the fabric, and not about the fact that it is produced without the use of harmful components).

Also, do not blindly trust the label, since buying a fake can mean not only the loss of a large sum of money, but also the collapse of your expectations from the quality of fabrics (lack of hypoallergenicity, “miraculous” properties and a longer life of things that are inherent in organic fabrics).

It is best to buy eco-clothes in proven online stores and give preference to well-known eco-brands. And it is best to check with the store for a special certificate (it must be required).

    Conclusion: Fashion credits

It turns out that eco-clothes are not only fashionable and stylish, but also very ethical. And if you decide to join the army of fans of sustainable fashion, here is a list of brands that make clothes from organic fabrics.

Let’s talk about invoices? – Create your own style – LiveJournal

Very, very rarely I hear in conversations about style a mention of textures and the correspondence of different textures to different styles.Apparently, it is believed that this is somehow self-evident. However, in my opinion, this is a very interesting and promising topic. Let’s talk about this?

Of course, now no specific textures are assigned to different styles, eclecticism and fusion are our everything. However, if we consider the problem of style from the point of view of a beginner who is just learning and is not yet ready to endlessly combine textures, or from the point of view of just an amateur, then it is still possible to conditionally tie textures to styles. At least for orientation on the terrain :))
I will allow myself to express my thoughts on the topic of textures and I will be extremely glad to any additions and comments. All this is purely my own observations.
For me, the ability to choose an elementary set consists of:
    – knowledge of your silhouette (and here I do not mean that everyone needs to bring themselves to a common denominator: “you have an” apple “figure, you cannot do this or that” , but I’m talking specifically about knowledge, so that you are aware of the peculiarities of your figure. And there it is already possible to decide whether to hide something or not to hide it), this also includes an understanding of the silhouette in the kit, which we are striving for,
    – knowledge of our colors,
    – the ability to combine textures.
So, I will try to systematize my observations about textures and how the choice of textures affects the style of clothing.
    1. What is texture in general? ..
Texture is by no means the quality of a fabric as a material. From Wiki: “texture is understood as the decorative and applied characteristics of the surface of various materials from a tactile and visual point of view, for example,” wood texture “”.
How is the invoice created? Well, purely from the point of view of a layman, I can say that, according to my observations, it is created by the quality of the thread and the type of weave. Take for example. plain cotton. It can be woven from threads that are uneven in thickness or even, or from loosely spun threads or smooth, twisted, can be tightly woven or loose – all this gives different textures of fabrics. For example, a cotton veil is a smooth, thin thread woven rather tightly, however, due to the fineness of the threads, a translucent smooth fabric of a uniform structure is obtained.Likewise, linen can be of different textures:

And suit accordingly for different purposes and styles.
Moreover: in the case of clothing and style, sometimes even metal or other elements of decoration are “responsible” for the texture of the thing. For example, on a classic jacket there are suddenly very shiny steel buttons instead of horn buttons or with an imitation of aged metal. Already a different kind. Or very shiny zippers are more appropriate on sportswear than on the calm classics.Sometimes I buy a thing because I liked the style and texture, but I completely change the finish on it, because it looks bad with these textures.

    2. Each style has its own texture.
Each style has a tendency towards certain textures. Sometimes the texture itself asks for one or another style. Or the style requires certain textures. For example, a classic sheath dress will look good in the texture of thick cotton or fine wool, perhaps with a slight matte sheen. The romantic style, for example, is simply created for translucent matte fabrics, small and large laces, all kinds of trimmings, velvet. Glamor welcomes smooth textures, satin shiny fabrics, lycra, tk. many tight-fitting styles. Business style loves smooth matte dense textures with a minimum of relief.
Perhaps the most versatile styles in terms of textures are classic and sporty (casual sport) styles. And at the same time, it is for wearing these styles that most people claim. We often hear around “I wear only classics” or “I prefer the comfort of a sporty style.” The problem is that in the minds of people, these styles are often reduced only to styles, and somehow they do not think about the importance of texture.

Classics, of course, love natural textures. These are all types of woolen fabrics, the thinnest and thickest, tweeds, flannel, drape, cashmere, cotton, silk, linen, cotton and silk veils, silk crepe and satin, raw silk, velvet, pan-velvet, corduroy, velor, etc. etc. Leather and suede trim.Or synthetic fabrics, but imitating natural textures very well. Although there is very little such happiness. Although I see even famous and very expensive brands have a lot of things made of 100% polyester and acrylic.

And, of course, mixed fabrics: wool and silk, cotton and silk, linen and cotton, etc. Of course, now it is more practical, both for the price, and for wear, and for a better fit, to choose things with the addition of synthetics and elastane. And yet, in high-quality classic synthetics things, there cannot be more than 50%.Whatever the classic cut of the jacket, if it has the sheen of polyester or acrylic and a cheap texture – it’s not the same, the look “doesn’t hold up” anymore.

Yes, the silhouette can be perfect, the color suits you. But the texture can make a thing very cheap. Often we ourselves can spoil the texture. For example, one of my mother’s precepts is to iron woolen things strictly from the inside out and strictly through wet gauze. And she would have, she would have stroked everything like that :)) Otherwise, it “smoothes out”, the surface begins to shine with unnecessary shine, and that’s it, already untidy, worn out look.
Classic Oxford-style shirts are highly prized for their textured, crisp, embossed cotton.

The same goes for the famous polo pique.

A polo made of ordinary knitted fabric looks completely different, and if it is also synthetic, then completely seams. Linen, silk, cotton – all these are ideal fabrics for creating textures of classic things. However, even they often have to be very specific in the case of the classics. The classic texture of tweed-boucle is a combination of thick and thin threads, woolen, silk, the texture of a silk dress at the exit – dense smooth matte silk, etc.etc.
Classics are associated with good quality, so the texture should reflect this, or at least imitate it.

The sporty style is in stark contrast to the classics. Of course, sports style today is mostly the realm of synthetics. Moreover, it can be either very cool quality, functional and pleasant, or terrible, creaky and creating a “greenhouse effect”. Although, of course, there are all those cotton pants with fleece inside, and many sports brands have lines of casual wear, for example, Columbia, which has a safari line of linen and cotton clothes. But some details of this clothing still do not allow us to call it a classic. Even the logos of the sports brands themselves, very recognizable, are embroidered on these things. Or details such as all sorts of drawstrings, buttons or additional pockets still make these clothes sporty. Sports style is often present now in everyday style, they are almost inextricably linked. Any sportswear can be worn with jeans – and here is a ready-made modern casual style.

It is easy to “extinguish” the pathos of an elegant dress or mini-skirt with sports shoes:

Sportswear now, first of all, is very elastic, does not hinder movement, therefore people who are not at all connected with sports often prefer them.Secondly, it is now often quite beautiful, and sometimes frankly “clumsy”, decorated with rhinestones, sequins and so on. It is almost impossible to combine sports style with classics, but I often see people trying to … Ie. people often choose a sports style, not at all because they play sports or lead an active lifestyle, but because they also choose the casual style – because of convenience, and also because sports things are now made quite wearable outside the gym , as evidenced by the wild success of New Balance and the Adidas Originals or Nike.Sometimes only the form remains of the sportiness in these things, since even the materials are sometimes purely natural, as is the case with New Balance suede sneakers. And still, style remains style. Even Converse sneakers, included in classics, must-haves and everything else, remain sports shoes.

I still remember the times when girls used to wear bright bicycles, T-shirts and sneakers. Or in acid leggings, long T-shirts and again sneakers. Or in bright sweatpants, wide trousers, or even completely in tracksuits they sported.
And now I often see girls in jackets from tracksuits, and at the bottom there is a pencil skirt and stilettos … It looks awful, this is a thoughtless mixture of textures and styles. And the key word here is “thoughtless”. Because there are options to mix styles competently, with irony, with a creative approach. But for this you need to know the basics well. Such girls make a choice in favor of convenience – to run to work in windy weather in a sports jacket, what’s the difference, I’ll take it off there! – without thinking about the alternative of combining convenience and aesthetics.
Despite all their quality, modern sports textures are such that if you do not yet have sufficient confidence in your own style, then they can be successfully combined only with the casual style. And here it is necessary to take into account clothes, shoes, and accessories. For example, you can be impeccably dressed in classics, but the case will be ruined by a bag made of Bolognese fabric, or ballet flats of a pronounced sporty style:
And do not think that this is a rare outfit. People who are not sophisticated in style are often confused by, for example, a good brand.Well, what, Puma is a cool brand, which means a black bag is quite suitable for going to the office. And such lively pink stripes. The same about ballet flats. And they are also comfortable, in them it is good to climb the stairs back and forth all day. And in general, it’s true, if a person is comfortable, then why not? But if you want more, if you still want harmony in clothes, then it is definitely better to avoid such combinations.
There is, of course, the option of large brands of everyday or even luxury clothing, but which produce sportswear – with prints in the form of numbers, etc.etc. – but made of natural fabrics. But this is a separate conversation and a separate style.

    3. Combination of textures and the use of incorrect textures.
If you know what textures are appropriate within the style, then it is painless to combine them within this style. For example, the classics accept a variety of textures, there can be loose textures (knitted sweaters), and smooth, and shiny (satin), and all kinds of textured finishes (lace, trim, etc.), but I would still say that the main emphasis is on natural materials, matte or matte. And within this style, you can painlessly combine textures. Here you just need to ensure that the textures were as close as possible to the textures of natural fabrics. For example, obviously glued too much shiny and without the slightest imitation of the texture of the leather of the trim as a trim for a tweed jacket – this is already a big minus of the thing. Dangers also begin at the junction of different styles, or within the framework of everyday style, casual, which, as you know, is able to “absorb” things from other styles and make them quite everyday. So, for example, combinations of ethnic or hippie long linen dresses and a clearly sporty windbreaker worn on top look strange. At the same time, the same windbreaker only made of thick cotton, and not synthetic fabric, with a minimum of decorative elements, may well fit.
Often people intuitively understand by the richness of the texture that this or that thing is suitable for one purpose or another: something, rather, elegant, but something is possible for every day. However, the very “richness of texture” is understood in different ways. Note that this is why cheap things are decorated with all sorts of excesses – drawstrings, folds in unexpected places, rhinestones, sequins – in order to create the illusion of texture on things with absolutely no texture… Often bright prints serve as etmou. That is why, if you are interested in your own style and set out to find harmony in clothes, it is better at first to prefer things without “architectural excesses” 🙂
You can often see men in suit trousers, a white shirt and a corduroy jacket … Again, a complete misunderstanding textures: the strict matte shine of the suit and the cozy nap of velveteen do not go well. Plus the bright white color of the shirt, which only emphasizes the smoothness of its cotton. Business style has fallen out of the blue.
I am very sad when I see things like a classic silhouette made of raincoat fabric in public … Many people wear black trousers to work from the fabric from which tracksuits are sewn. This is completely wrong, the view is completely lost, especially. when they try to observe the “white top, black bottom”, i.e. quite formal suit plus classic pumps. Girls and women look cheap and tasteless in such things, alas. The poverty of the texture of the fabric can ruin any outfit.
A sweater covered with spools while still on the shelf, a dress that squeaks from the presence of polyester (which in small doses can be quite useful for things), a stretch synthetic satin that instantly becomes covered with puffs – all this should be thrown into the dustbin of history. your past life :)) And go to a fabric store to start loving textures.First, the simplest, monochromatic. Try to compare two fabrics of the same quality – expensive and cheap, try to understand if there is a difference (sometimes there is no difference, by the way, there are marketing whims, what to do …).

    4. Textures and prints / patterns
Separately, it should be said about the combination of classic patterns or prints with textures of a different style. As recently as today I saw an aunt in a shirt in a plaid from a raincoat. As a bottom, she was wearing pants that I hate: synthetics with drawstrings along the side seam of the legs.It was terrible. Plus, she was probably hot in such an outfit. I would like to know how much she paid for all this. I am sure that I could find an acceptable set for the same money. Of course, a plaid or other classic pattern (peas, stripes a la vest, “goose feet”, etc.) can be used in different styles and textures, can be rethought. And yet they look best with classic textures.

    5. Why does everyone love jeans?
Here is an understanding of the problem of textures helps to understand the popularity of jeans.Jeans are a unique texture that, in combination with their color, really suits everything. Moderately embossed, moderately smooth, moderately loose, very uniform, properly wiped and therefore only prettier. A denim jacket can be thrown on in any outfit, even in an evening dress and pumps, and it will look good.

    6. The texture of things leads to the texture of the image.
The combination of things in an image or a set leads to the fact that the set as a whole has a certain texture – homogeneous or successfully combined. With a good understanding of textures, you can even see the appropriateness in this image of a particular hairstyle, which is also a kind of texture 🙂 Loose slightly wavy hair or gathered and very smooth. And even makeup that can create a smooth and radiant or matte face, with accents on the lips, eyebrows or eyes.
