Terrible customer service. NOT friendly, no assistance in helping me finding what I needed, and when cashing out – the first cashier directed me to the customer service desk to get my items rang out. Now, this customer service cashier redirected me back to the original cashier, who was already helping another customer ring his items out after claiming she was not open, and after redirected me to the other cashier.

For product this store is fine. But for particular services this store is not equipt. If someone doesn’t know how to use your fax machine, you should WALK over to the machine with them and show them how to correctly feed the paper in the FAX machine. Especially when the anoint of money for said fax use is so expensive.

I’ve always had a pleasant encounter with all the associates I’ve came in contact with at this store. The reason for only 4 stars and not 5 is because, there have been a few times that my order was not correct as far as some of my flyer words being cut off or the quality of my order not to satisfactory. But I love the deals I get and the time frame for picking up or shipping my orders. I will definitely use them again, but to an extent.

The computer section is a joke. I just wanted to upgrade my old laptop and went there to see whether they have one good for me. After wandering around, no one came to me. Just saw one of the managers sat in front of a computer in the easy tech section. This is fine. I went to them to ask for help. After being confirmed by an easy tech staff that they do have one in stock, they said I had to do a survey. OK, I did a 10 min survey. After this survey, the easy tech man went back to grab the laptop. Ironically, the laptop disappeared for no reason!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so ridiculous. I really do not want to say rude words here. If you have other options, just keep away from this store. Seems like they do not welcome anyone. I’d rather drive 20 min to the Warwick store. For electronics, best buy is way better than staples.

The only good thing I can figure out for this store is that shipping is very convenient. But we all know staples is not well-known for shipping.

SEG Partners with Staples to Help RI Employees Work from Home

Providence, R.I. (December 10, 2020) — Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG) has forged supplier partnerships with office retailer Staples as well as with technology device makers to bring free laptops, printers and other work-from-home technology tools to the state’s small businesses, social enterprises and nonprofits as they struggle through the pandemic-inflicted economy. The program is funded by a CARES Act grant provided and coordinated by the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation’s Remote Work program.

Applications are currently being accepted here and all program grants will be made before the end of the year, in an effort to get work-from-home assistance to enterprises quickly. Priority will be given to businesses and organizations that align with and further SEG’s mission of supporting diverse businesses and nonprofits who work to enable a more just, equitable and resilient economy.

“As we see from the COVID numbers, working from home is effective. But most Rhode Island small business owners and social service providers – especially those in historically excluded communities – don’t have the resources to enable their employees to do this,” said Kelly Ramirez, SEG’s chief executive officer. “Commerce’s Remote Work program is designed to address that – and we’re grateful for the collaboration of Staples and other tech suppliers, who have mobilized to deliver the products at big discounts and to help us distribute them quickly and effectively.”

The program provides free laptops, noise-cancelling headsets, printers, routers and WiFi hotspots – as well as limited tech service plans – to qualified businesses and organizations. To qualify, businesses and nonprofits must have two or more employees and must demonstrate that the grant will enable their employees to perform at least 80% of their work from home.

“Staples is humbled to be able to work with Social Enterprise Greenhouse and Rhode Island Commerce to support RI businesses by providing the necessary technology and equipment to effectively work from home,” said Michael Hurwitz, VP, GMM, Merchandising, Staples US Retail. “Small businesses make up one of Staples’ most important customer segments and we know what a difficult year they have had due to the pandemic. Transferring from an office to your home is not an easy task for small business owners or their employees but with the proper technology we hope to support more productivity, creativity, and ultimately successful businesses.”

Background







William was born on October 10, 1798 in Providence, Rhod Island, United States, the youngest son of Samuel and Ruth (Read) Staples.






Education





He graduated from Brown University in 1817.






Career





After reading law in the office of a local attorney, he was admitted to practice in 1819, and although at the bar and on the bench he maintained a successful association with the law for nearly half a century, he impressed one of his contemporary biographers as being “not especially fond of his profession”.

He entered public life in 1832 as a member of the common council of Providence, served as a police justice of the city for two years, and in June 1835 took his seat by appointment as an associate justice of the supreme court of Rhode Island.

Elected chief justice of that court in 1854, he was compelled through loss of health to resign his office in March 1856. Thereafter, except for a few months in 1856 as state auditor, he devoted himself largely to unofficial public service and to the development of his interest in the history of his native state.

In his Annals of the Town of Providence, published in 1843, he claimed with too much modesty that his purpose was only “to collect facts for the future historian, ” but in that book he arranged economically a great store of facts, collected from numerous original sources, into a vigorous, reliable narrative covering two centuries of the city’s life. At the instance of the Assembly he performed in his closing years a similar task of research and presentation in his Rhode Island in the Continental Congress, a work that was brought out by the state in 1870 under the editorship of Reuben Aldridge Guild.

He edited also The Documentary History of the Destruction of the Gaspee (1845) and, at different periods of his life, certain works of legal utility of no general interest.

He died in 1868.

90,000 PRICES FOR BASIC FOOD PRODUCTS MUST BE REGULATED WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE STATE ← Official comment

Governor Vladimir Vladimirov held a meeting on pricing for agricultural products and food in the region.It was attended by heads of relevant ministries and departments, heads of municipalities, representatives of volunteer associations.

Opening the discussion, the head of the region recalled the sharp changes in prices for vegetable products recorded this year. In this context, he stressed the need to seek regulation of prices for the main types of food with the participation of the state. In particular, this applies to the so-called “borscht set”.

“We need mechanisms to regulate trade margins for socially significant food products, which must be monitored constantly,” stressed Vladimir Vladimirov.

The head of the region ordered to form a list of such products. Proposals for regulating their prices will be sent to the Government of the Russian Federation.

Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Territory Vladimir Sitnikov reported on the situation with the production and sale of vegetable products. As it was said, 400-500 thousand tons of vegetables and potatoes are produced annually in the Stavropol Territory, which exceeds the internal demand for these products. At the same time, about 80% of vegetables grown in the region are supplied to the domestic market.

At the same time, in order to increase the share of regional vegetable products in large retail chains, an increase in their own storage capacities with primary processing is required. This will ensure the proper quality of products in accordance with the requirements of retailers.

Vladimir Vladimirov instructed to study the possibilities of increasing the volume of state support for the creation of vegetable storage facilities and logistics centers. According to the head of the region, this can be done within the framework of a separate program, which must be initiated at the federal level. The Governor has set the task to prepare and submit appropriate proposals.

Also, in order to create additional sales channels for agricultural products in the region, work will continue to develop fair trade. Currently, 283 fairgrounds have already been created in the Stavropol Territory, which is 12% more than a year ago. In addition, the number of trading places for the sale of products produced in peasant (farmer) households and in private farmsteads has been increased by 1.8 times.

Vladimir Vladimirov also thanked public volunteer associations that monitor prices for socially significant food products. Including, this year volunteers of the regional united volunteer headquarters of “United Russia” have already carried out 363 raids on retail outlets. In case of revealing the facts of unjustified price increases, the information is transferred to the regional authorities.

In all these cases, the organization transferring the base is obliged to notify the recipient of the information base by an official letter that the recipient must not violate the copyright of 1C for the applied solution, in particular, not to distribute the information base and its parts and not provide it to access to it by third parties. Responsibility for the reproduction of the information base or its further distribution in accordance with the law rests with the recipient of the base, if he is notified by the organization transferring the base of the rules for using the base in accordance with the license agreement.
