Everything was online so no personal interaction! Cards turned out great!!

they wouldn’t honor my Groupon. I had 3 groupons for shredding and the first one they honored, the next 2 times they indicated the wouldn’t honor them.. I even asked before giving them my materials to shred and the clerk indicated they would but then couldn’t figure out the groupon and argued that they didn’t get any money from groupon so it really wasn’t a coupon and charged me the full rate for the shredding. I asked the manager and he agreed that they didn’t honor the groupons. That’s unfortunate because I like staples and groupon but I guess I won’t use the two combined anymore.

Great deal. Good product that I use every year. The picture quality isn’t perfect, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But overall it’s great–always good service, product ready on time.

Typographic Vision(s)

Sept. 8 –Oct. 23, 2020

Exhibition statement:

During this time of an onslaught of screens, we wish to offer people an opportunity
for quiet exploration
and discovery of typography and its possibilities for expression. Typography is one
of the main components of visual communication, carrying within it a long history
and tradition. Our work explores the tactile and historical assets of type in contemporary
fashion. The juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary helps us create visual
intrigue that is difficult to achieve through digital media. We aim to create visual
dialogue through the versatile use of typography and the materials. Part of the magic
is the tactile experience we go through during the printing and binding processes.
The physicality that is involved in setting type, operating a press, or binding a
book creates a bond between the work and the maker, which is then, in turn, passed
on to the viewer. For viewers, this exhibition is an occasion to experience typography
in a different fashion.

About the artists:

Why Wheat Is a Kansas Staple | Kansas Farm Food Connection

Close your eyes and picture Kansas. What springs to mind? If we had to guess, we’d wager there was wheat involved.

Kansas conjures thoughts of golden fields — delicate stalks rippling in the breeze as far as the eye can see.

But why is Kansas so solidly linked to wheat in our minds? What is it about wheat that makes it such an iconic image? Well, there are a lot of reasons, it turns out.

Of course, our climate plays a big part. Wheat is a fairly forgiving crop and can grow with as little as 10 inches of rain a year, although 12 to 15 is preferable. In fact, wheat is grown in every one of the 105 counties in Kansas. The wheat grown here is winter wheat, which is planted in the fall and harvested during the summer. Winter wheat doesn’t mind our crazy temperature fluctuations and can withstand our cold winters while dormant, then flourish during our warmer summers. Spring wheat, which is planted in spring and harvested late summer, isn’t grown in Kansas because it doesn’t grow well in our climate.

The major types of soil are sand, silt and clay. Wheat grows well in loamy soil, which is a combination of all three. That description fits Harney silt loam — our state soil — to a tee. Harney silt loam is 70 percent silt, 15 percent clay and 15 percent sand. This mix provides a good balance of moisture retention and drainage.

Still, farmers have to maintain soil health. This might mean adding depleted nutrients back into the soil with fertilizer or reducing tilling to help preserve soil structure. Other practices like crop rotation and cover crops can also be helpful depending on factors like the pH levels of soil. Guess which crops wheat cycles well with? Corn, soybeans and sorghum. You guessed it; all of these are major Kansas crops!

There’s no denying our rich history is also tied to wheat. When German and Russian Mennonites immigrated in the 1870s, they brought seeds of Turkey Red, a winter wheat which grew well in their native home. Although spring wheat had not grown well in Kansas, this strain of winter wheat flourished. With its success, farmers began developing additional strains.

The wheat market became a major draw for settlers looking for prosperity. Many Americans and immigrants answered the call to cultivate the prairie. Unfortunately, this new life wasn’t as easy as some may have hoped. Drought and locusts plagued the state in the late 1890s. On the heels of record high wheat prices following World War I, the Great Depression and Dust Bowl delivered a double hit to families relying on the once highly profitable crop for their livelihoods.

After one of the most challenging eras in farming, the 1940s brought perfect conditions for growing wheat, and prices soared again. World War II also provided new opportunities for farmers. Patriotism among farmers swelled as production was more than a way to support their families, but to feed our citizens and troops.

Through the ups and downs, wheat became ingrained in the fiber of our history and established itself as a key crop just as food production was becoming modernized in the next decades.

Breadbasket of the World

Wheat would never have been such a success if it weren’t such a versatile crop in food production and home cooking.

To help promote the grain in everyday life, the Kansas Wheat Commission began releasing cookbooks in the 1950s to showcase recipes using flour. These cookbooks encouraged Americans everywhere to bring wheat into their homes and support the country’s economy.

As food companies developed more formulas for breakfast cereals and other staples, especially following World War II, wheat was front and center.

Today, Kansas is the top producer of wheat in the United States and a large contributor worldwide. It’s no wonder we’ve become known as the “Breadbasket of the World.”

So, as you picture the amber waves of this Kansas grain, hopefully you can appreciate wheat is much more than just a crop. It’s a deeply rooted part of our heritage.

Union Square, Manhattan – Union Square, Manhattan

crossroads and neighborhoods in New York

    US Historic Site

Union Square is a historic intersection and neighborhood in Manhattan, New York where Broadway and the former Bowery Road met in the early 19th century – now Fourth Avenue. Its name means that “the two main highways of the island were connected here.” Current Union Square Park is bounded by 14th Street in the south, 17th Street in the north, and Union Square in the west and Union Square in the east in the west and east, respectively. 17th Street connects Broadway and Park Avenue South at the north end of the park, and Union Square East connects South Park Avenue with Fourth Avenue and the Broadway extension on the park’s south side. The park is administered by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

Neighboring neighborhoods are Flatiron to the north, Chelsea to the west, Greenwich Village to the southwest, East Village to the southeast, and Gramercy Park to the east. Many New School buildings are located near the square, as well as several New York University dorms. The east side of the square is dominated by the four Zeckendorf towers, while the south side is the One Union Square South, a mixed-use square block that houses a wall sculpture and digital clock called the Metronome .Union Square Park also has many works of art, including statues of George Washington, the Marquis de Lafayette, Abraham Lincoln, and Mahatma Gandhi.

Union Square is part of the 5th District of Manhattan and has a primary zip code of 10003. It is patrolled by the 13th District of the NYPD. In New York City, the 14th Street-Union Square subway station, served by the 4, 5, 6, <6>, L, N, Q, R and W trains, are located under Union Square.

Union Park New York (East Side) , New York Public Library

The area around present-day Union Square was originally agricultural land. The western part of the site was owned by Elias Brevoort, who later sold his land to John Smith in 1762; by 1788 it was sold again to Henry Spingler (or Springler). In the eastern part of the land, there were farms belonging to John Watts and Cornelius Williams. In the northwest corner of the parkland was 1 acre (0.40 hectares) of land owned by Manhattan Bank, which was allegedly a haven for businesses during the New York yellow fever epidemic.

When John Randall surveyed the island in preparation for the Commissioners’ Plan of 1811, Bloomingdale Road (now Broadway) deviated from the Bowery at an acute angle. Since it would be difficult to build buildings from this angle, the members of the Commission decided to form a square at the union. In 1815, by a decision of the state legislature, this former pottery field became the public domain of the city, first named Union Place. Originally, Union Place was supposed to stretch from 10th to 17th Streets. Several city officials objected that Union Place was too large and demanded that it be “discontinued,” and in 1814 the New York State Legislature took action to reduce the area by making 14th Street the southern boundary.

In 1831, while the city was expanding rapidly and the surrounding area was still underdeveloped, Samuel Ruggles, one of the founders of the Bank of Commerce and developer of Gramercy Park in the northeast, convinced the city to rename the Union Square. In doing so, Ruggles also forced the city to expand the dorm to 17th Street in the north and widen the axis of University Place to form the western side of the square, thereby transforming the usual territory from triangular to rectangular. By 1832, the square was renamed Union Square. Ruggles received a fifty-year lease for most of the surrounding parcels from 15th to 19th streets, where he built sidewalks and curbs. In 1834, he convinced the Aldermen Council to fence and value the square, then sold most of his leases, and in 1839 built a four-story house facing the east side of the square.Union Square Park was completed and opened in July 1839.

The statue in its current location in the middle of the park

In the center of Union Square, a fountain was built to supply water from the Croton Aqueduct, the construction of which was completed in October 1842. In 1845, when the square finally began to fill with wealthy houses, $ 116,000 was spent paving the surrounding streets and landscaping the square. thanks in part to the ongoing promotion of the Ruggles. The only survivors at this early stage, although they have been largely adapted and rebuilt, are a series of three- and four-story brick terraced houses, 862-866 Broadway, at the bend where Broadway opens onto 17th Street Square. The Everett House at 17th Street and Fourth Avenue (built 1848, demolished 1908) has been one of the city’s most fashionable hotels for decades.

In the early years of the park’s existence, the central oval of the square was surrounded by a fence planted with radiant paths framed by trees. In 1872, Frederick Lowe Olmsted and Calvert Waugh were invited to transplant the park as an open clearing with clumps of trees.

First, the plaza, the last public space that functioned as an entrance to New York, was mostly residential: the Union League club first occupied a house provided for this purpose by Henry Marquand at the corner of 17th Street and Broadway. After the civil war, the area became largely commercial, and at the turn of the twentieth century, the area began to lose its social significance, many of the old mansions were demolished. Tiffany & Co. who moved to the square from Broadway and Broome Street in 1870, left its premises at 15th Street to move to 37th Street in 1905; The Gorham Company, a silver company, moved from 19th Street in 1906. The area’s last free-standing private mansion, Peter Goelet’s at the northeast corner of 19th Street, gave way to a commercial building in 1897.

The Rialto, New York City’s first commercial theater district, has been located in and around Union Square since the 1870s. It was named after Venice’s Rialto, a commercial area. The first institution to open within Union Square Rialto was the Academy of Music, which opened at Irving Place in 1854. The Theater District gradually moved north, to less expensive and undeveloped areas of the city, and, eventually, to the current Theater District.

Before the Civil War, theaters in New York City were generally located along Broadway and the Bowery to 14th Street, with Broadway theaters attracting more middle and upper classes, and Bowery theaters attracting an immigrant, clerk, and working class audience. After the war, the development of the Ladies’ Mile shopping district along Fifth and Sixth Avenues above 14th Street resulted in theater houses being relocated to the city center, so that the Rialto theatrical film emerged on Broadway between 14th and 23rd Streets. between the streets of Union.Square and Madison Square.

    Union Square in 1908

At the same time, the move from joint stock companies, in which the incumbent resident company was based around a star or impresario, to a “combined” system, in which productions were combined on a one-time basis to produce a specific play, increased the amount of external support needed to serve the theater industry. … Thus, suppliers of props, costumes, wigs, sets and other theatrical supplies have grown around the new theaters. The new system also needed an organized way of recruiting actors for these one-off productions, so talent brokers and theater agents emerged, as well as theater boarding houses, stage photographers, advertising agencies, theater printers, and play publishers. Along with the hotels and restaurants serving the theatergoers and shoppers of the area, Union Square Rialto was, towards the end of the century, a thriving theater district that soon nevertheless migrated to the upper part of the city, which became known as “Broadway” as Rialto became part of the entertainment district of Tenderloin, more vice-president-oriented.

    Office and wholesale area

By the first decade of the 20th century, Union Square had developed into a major transportation hub with several overhead and surface rail lines passing nearby, and the New York City Subway station on 14th Street – Union Square, which opened in 1904. After the relocation of the Theater District, Union Square also became a major shopping area with several mansard buildings as well as numerous office buildings. Office structures included the Everett Building, erected at the northwest corner of South Park Avenue and 17th Street in 1908; the Germania life insurance building, built at the northeast corner of the same intersection between 1910 and 1911; and the Edison United Building, built three blocks south on 14th Street between 1910 and 1914.

During this time, many of the old Union Square homes were converted into apartment buildings for immigrants and industrial workers. Numerous artists moved into the lofts of the remaining mansions on 14th Street, where they had their own studios. The 1939 WPA Guide to New York stated that by the 1920s, “the south side of Fourteenth Street was effectively an extension of Greenwich Village.” In addition, by the 1920s, property values around Union Square had fallen, and the area was lined with “parody houses, shooting galleries and low-quality businesses.”Over the course of a decade, S. Klein and Ohrbach’s department stores bought out most of the buildings in the eastern part of the square. Real estate business resumed in the late 1920s, and according to 1928 article of The New York Times , “several small transactions are planned or underway in the area.”

Late 20th and early 21st centuries

Union Square was named a National Historic Landmark in 1997, primarily to mark it as the site of the first Labor Day parade.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, Union Square became the main gathering place for mourners. People erected spontaneous candlestick and photographic memorials in the park, and vigils were held in honor of the victims. At the time, non-emergency vehicles were temporarily banned and pedestrian traffic restricted in Lower Manhattan below 14th Street. The square’s tradition as a meeting place during times of turmoil also played an important role in its use as a gathering place for vigils.

A renovated pavilion in the northern part of the park in February 2011.

    Renovation of the northern part

In March 2008, an eighteen-month reconstruction began in the northern part of the park. Supporters of the plan described it as completing the renovation of Union Square Park, begun in the mid-1980s, which will improve the park by increasing the number and quality of playgrounds, improving the quality and functioning of the public square, rehabilitating the badly worn belt shell structure, and improving conditions. labor for the park staff and maintaining the presence of the restaurant in the center of the park with “eyes on the street”.Protests and political action in response to initial renovation plans resulted in fewer pavilion renovations, a decrease in the restaurant’s total floor space, and an increase in the number of dedicated games. space, but there remains strong opposition to the idea that the pavilion could be used commercially. While the total number of play areas in the park will be increased as a result of the renovation, those who criticized the plan said the orchestra pavilion itself should be converted into a play space.Later, the status of the historic building of the pavilion was transferred to the State Supreme Court. In early 2009, a judge dismissed a claim against the renovation, and a seasonal restaurant opened in the pavilion.

One element of controversy not related to the restaurant concession is the inclusion of a single line of street trees 30 feet (9.1 m) apart along the north side of the plaza. The inclusion of trees was made possible without diminishing the usable space for collecting the square, thanks to the simultaneous decision to remove the painted median stripe that divided east and west traffic along 17th Street, thus increasing the northern boundaries of the square by several feet.”Temporary” metal rails, welded together to form a continuous fence along the north side of the site, were removed as part of the site’s renovation. A double row of trees along 17th Street was planted a few years earlier as a memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

During renovations, the Union Square green market was temporarily relocated to the western part of the park, and by April 2009 returned to the northern part.

    Art and sculpture

Union Square is known for its impressive equestrian statue of US President George Washington, modeled by Henry Kirk Brown and opened in 1856. Located at the southern end of the park, it was the first public sculpture erected in New York with an equestrian statue of George III in 1770 and the first American equestrian sculpture cast in bronze.

At Marquis de Lafayette , at Union Square East and 16th Street, was modeled after Bartholdi and consecrated in 1876, the 100th anniversary of U.S. independence.

A statue of Abraham Lincoln, modeled by Henry Kirk Brown (1870), is located near the northern part of the park.

The statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the southwest corner of the park was added in 1986.

    Green Markets and Business

The open-air farmers’ market Greenmarket, which is held four days a week.

    Public Markets

In 1976, the New York City Environment Council (now GrowNYC) established the Green Market Program, which provided regional small family farmers with the opportunity to sell their fruits, vegetables and other agricultural products in the city’s open markets.Initially, there were seven farmers in the first Green Market, and by noon their selection was sold out. Two more markets opened in New York that summer. Despite some backlash from local traders and supermarkets who felt the green market was cutting their profits, more markets opened in the city.

Today Union Square Green Market – the most famous of the markets – is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00 to 18:00 all year round. The market is served by a number of regional farmers as the average distance between farmers and the market is 90 miles (140 km).During peak seasons, Greenmarket serves over 250,000 customers a week who purchase over a thousand varieties of fruits and vegetables that can be found on the Green Market; and the range of products available is much wider than in a regular supermarket.

Union Square is also famous for the Union Square holiday market, which runs from November 23rd to December 24th. The temporary stalls are filled with over 100 artisans who sell items ranging from candles and perfumes to knitted scarves and high-end jewelry.

Union Square is a popular meeting point given its central Manhattan location and the many nearby subway routes. There are many bars and restaurants on the periphery of the square, and some of the city’s most famous (and expensive) restaurants are located in the surrounding streets. S. Klein department store was promoted in the mid-20th century as an alternative to “On the Square” higher prices in the city center, and at the end of the century several large chain stores opened their presence, including Barnes & Noble in the Century Building, Babies “R »Us at the former headquarters of the US Communist Party and Staples in the Spingler building.

The W New York Union Square, part of the W Hotels chain, is located in the northeast corner of the park, in the former Guardian Life building. In addition, Hyatt Union Square New York is located in the southeast corner of the park, in a former post office.

    Cultural influence

    Social and political activity

The park has historically been the beginning or end of many political demonstrations. Although the park was known for its union rallies and the grand 1861 rally in support of Union troops, it was actually named after its location in the “union” of Bloomingdale Road (now Broadway) and Eastern Post Road (now extinct).before these meetings. In April 1861, shortly after the fall of Fort Sumter, it was the site of a patriotic rally attended by about a quarter of a million people, believed to be the largest public gathering in North America up to that time. In the summer of 1864, the Metropolitan Fair was held on the north side of the square.

Union Square was a frequent gathering place for radicals of all stripes for speeches or demonstrations. In 1865, the newly formed Irish Republican Fenian Brotherhood publicly declared itself and rented Dr. John Moffat’s brownstone home at 32 East 17th Street, adjacent to the north-facing Everett House Hotel, for the government capital.they announced the link. On September 5, 1882, during the first Labor Day celebration, a crowd of at least 10,000 workers marched down Broadway and passed the observation deck in Union Square. On March 28, 1908, an anarchist detonated a bomb in Union Square, killing only himself and another person.

May Day 1913, a rally of strikers and demonstrators in Union Square with signs in Yiddish, Italian and English.

    2006 Union Square protest

On August 21, 1893, Emma Goldman took the stage in Union Square to deliver the Free Bread speech to a crowd of overworked garment workers. She also addressed the crowd on May 20, 1916, talking about the need for free access to birth control, which were prohibited by Comstock laws. Her visits to Union Square attracted hundreds of followers; some of these rallies ended with her arrest. Union Square has been used as a platform to raise awareness of the Black Lives Matter movement.

In 1934, the S. Klein and Ohrbach department stores took place in the plaza shopping area.White collar workers were among the lowest paid in New York during the Great Depression, and union membership was highly frowned upon by store managers and was often viewed as an offense. These strikes were often accompanied by acts of disobedience on the part of the workers, as many of them did not want to lose their jobs. During this period, Union Square became a gathering place for many of the city’s socialist and communist groups. Century Union Square was seen as a thinly veiled attempt to supplant these elements with its draping of the square with flags and demonstrations of police drills against protesters.

    Street Chess

Spectators watch a street chess player play a bullet with a customer in Union Square.

In 2013, the local newspaper The Villager reported that most of the street chess players in Washington Square Park, where Bobby Fischer played, moved their games to Union Square because the latter had more pedestrians. Street chess players play rapid chess with passers-by for three to five dollars per game, with time control of five minutes on each side being the most common.Writer Lauren Snetiker of the Greenwich Village Historical Heritage Society also documents the migration of the historic Washington Square Park chess scene to Union Square, noting that “dozens of chess players [who] sit on boxes and bring their boards … in Washington Square Park. ”

    Union Square Partnership

Union Square Partnership (USP), Business Development District (BID) and Local Development Corporation (LDC) were formed in 1984 and have become a model for other BIDs in New York.As of 2006, its budget was US $ 1.4 million. Jennifer E. Falk became its CEO in January 2007.

Union Square Partnership provides a free public Wi-Fi network in Union Square.

The Washington Irving campus at 40 Irving Place between East 16th and 17th Streets, a block east of Union Square Park, was formerly a high school but now houses Gramercy High School, Language High School and diplomacy, Union Square International High School, Union Square Academy of Medical Sciences, and the Academy of Software Engineering. In 2012, Success Academy Charter Schools announced its plan to open an elementary school in this building in 2013, but this has not happened as of mid-2015.

Also in Union Square is the original Stuyvesant High School at 345 East 15th Street, now known as the Old Stuyvesant Campus, home to the Cooperative Learning Institute, High School of Health Professions and Social Services and PS 226.

David Harbor’s Ideal Loft in New York

David Harbor is no stranger to acting. He worked for many years
in the theater and in the cinema, but the loudest success came to him thanks to the series “Very
Stranger Things, “where he played Sheriff Hopper. Stellar royalties allowed Harbor
buy an apartment in downtown New York.

When choosing an apartment, the actor knew exactly what he wanted: a loft on
Lower Manhattan. The search took three whole years – “the prices were godless.” Finally
Harbor found a “rough diamond” in the Nolita area (north of Little Italy),
in the building of a former factory for the production of wagon wheels.

“It didn’t look very good,” says the actor. “The floors are uneven and the walls are lousy drywall. There were two bathrooms next to each other. There was no point in them, there were 2 toilet bowls and 1 shower room. This was done only so that the housing was sold more expensive, like an apartment with two bathrooms. The place looked crazy, it has obviously not been touched since the 70s. ” But despite the terrible first impression, the price was right. Harbor also knew that he would be busy filming in Atlanta in the coming year. This allowed him to carry out repairs from start to finish and not look for temporary housing for this period.

To work on this major project – completely redesigned
needed 1400 square feet (about 130 sq ft) – Harbor invited an architect
and designer Kyle O’Donnell of Gramercy Design. Previously, he worked on an apartment
the actor’s manager. David liked the attention to detail with which O’Donnell
approaches the process. “He works very enthusiastically and very thoroughly.”

O’Donnell proposed “to recreate the charm of a vintage
New York loft, but enhance it with modern amenities suitable for
David’s lifestyle. ” According to the designer, his main task was to “add
everything that could have been here in the past. ”

Harbor and O’Donnell worked together to develop the layout of the loft. The client presented his ideas in the form of a sketch or a photograph from the Internet, and received a concept processed by the architect that best suited the general mood of the room.O’Donnell says that Harbor originally envisioned a wall of brick and stone, reminiscent of ancient Roman ruins, as a space divider between the living area and the office area. As a result, he was able to lead him to the idea of using a shelving unit and large plants instead – this option worked better in a loft both functionally and aesthetically.

Overhaul took 10 months. After they cleaned off all the unnecessary from the walls, interesting architectural features were discovered – for example, metal parts, on which factory workers once hung tools. It was decided to leave them in plain sight. Two bathrooms were connected into one, five built-in wardrobes appeared, a tin ceiling was installed. For the greatest authenticity, O’Donnell bought antique panels from a closed Pennsylvania factory and ordered them to be cleaned and repainted white. To fit the size of the squares, he picked up spotlights that do not violate the visual rhythm of the ceiling.

Prefabricated Tinplate Ceiling Panels as they are.

Harbor admits that his time in Atlanta made the job of the designer and his team of craftsmen much easier – even from a distance, he made several changes to the project.

Photo “before” – literally everything was cleared from the loft for a radical renovation. The windows shown in this photo were also replaced later.

As a result of many months of work, the apartment turned out
open and bright, with a vintage charm. Most of the walls are white, and furniture, carpets and
the paintings are selected in warm yellow, red and brown shades. Everywhere there are
plants in a variety of ceramic pots and flowerpots. Harbor has long wanted to do
my house is greener, but I could not properly care for flowers due to frequent
trips. The actor thinks this is the best air purifier. In addition, plants “make
the room is as lively and careless as I like. ”

Photo “after”. The new windows are taller.

Harbor reveals that his new home is in a romantic mood and recalls his favorite 1920s and 1930s New York writers: “This is a place they could live in. In this apartment I even started writing myself. ”

The hallway in the loft is very small, which is typical for New York. It only has a wall mirror and a hanging roll of note paper.Bespoke bookshelves line the wall in the hallway, from rugged floors to high ceilings.

Since there is not enough sunlight in the hallway, built-in lighting is a must. It not only allows you to see the books and memorabilia placed on the shelves, but also partially illuminates the corridor itself when the ceiling light is off.

The shelves are shown immediately after installation, the lighting is clearly visible

Access to the upper shelves is given by a wooden ladder that can be moved along the railing in different directions. This ladder is also used in the kitchen, where there is also a rail under the ceiling cabinets.

The wall opposite the shelves is covered with light wallpaper from the
Hermès brand with yellow animal images. It is filled with framed photographs and prints, and there is a wardrobe with a secret door – from the outside it is “given out” only by a barely protruding thin strip of metal. It is a foldable handle that must be pulled to open.

The designer recommends covering the wall with wallpaper and electrical panels

The entire kitchen design was built around a green stove from the Lacanche brand, which Harbor liked very much.

    Slab during installation

This luxurious handmade slab uses two colors of metal – steel and light brass, with more brass. Therefore, the cabinet doors also have brass handles.

Almost finished kitchen before adding the finishing touches

And the work surface is made of stone with cream and coffee stains, in which there are blotches of green – in this way the designer “tied” it to the stove.

    Complete kitchen with dining table

Complementing this is a simple farmhouse-style wooden table and chairs with wicker seats, as well as a lamp with a lampshade of a very unusual shape: from the inside, it resembles the complex systems of underground caves in the desert.

The included bulbs make the lampshade absolutely incredible

Note that the top two long shelves with a crockery railing run directly through the window above the sink.

The design of the open shelves echoes the adjacent shelving unit

There is no TV in the living area; instead, Harbor has a retractable projector screen hiding in the ceiling. When it is removed, the focus is on the paintings on the wall above the curbstone.

Large corner sofa made of brownish-yellow velvety fabric, made to order.

Behind the sofa is the previously mentioned intricate oak and metal shelving, custom made at Bednark Studio.

From , the tellage is shown immediately after assembly, before the addition of decor and plants. Thanks to this, the complexity and elegance of the design are clearly visible.

It visually separates the study from the kitchen and living room. And at the same time it serves as a desk – a long table top is a continuation of one of the shelves.

Completed shelving and writing desk in residential interiors

The bedroom is located at the opposite end of the corridor behind a sliding door.In the photo you can see the already mentioned old factory hangers for tools. Like the walls, they were painted white. Wall cabinets in this room are also equipped with lighting that automatically turns on when the doors are opened.

O’Donnell has installed blackout roller blinds in the bedroom that can be pulled down on all windows with the push of a button. David believes that this is very important for New York – electric lights are constantly on on the streets of the city. A large fur rug adds comfort and soundproofing.

The sun depicted on the tapestry echoes the circles on the bedside tables and lamps

Opposite the bed in the bedroom, there is a cozy armchair with a pouf under your feet and a floor lamp, ideal conditions for relaxed reading.

David Harbor Loft has plants arranged and hung all over the place

The walls and floor of the bathroom are covered with Italian handmade Pecchioli Firenze tiles in a deep blue color.

Samples of wall tiles on the left, floor tiles on the right.

This room is much darker than the others and has no windows.Instead of fighting the lack of natural light, the designer decided to play with it. Harbor considers it a relaxing spa experience.

    Steam shower
The shower room has a built-in marble shelf In this photo, O’Donnell captured installing luxury brass faucets in the shower room

There is a steam shower with a glass door, and a large bath with four taps. “Everyone asks why there are so many cranes here. Why not? If you open them all, the bathtub fills up very quickly. ” The pipes are deliberately left in plain sight to maintain the style of the classic loft.

The bathtub was fitted with a special cover in the color of the ceiling

An unusual elliptical cross vaulted ceiling enhances the impression that the bathroom is a spa.

The intricate design of the ceiling is shown at the stage of creation

The sink with mirror and lighting is located in an arch with a gold border.

Mixer installed in the wall above the sink

The toilet located inside the bathroom, but separated by a door, is covered with light wallpaper from the Donghia brand. They are covered with a vintage style print depicting scenes from the life of New York. This room is connected with the rest of the bathroom by a blue-black ceiling.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus: Walkthrough

In Wolfenstein® II, you will embark on an exciting new adventure made possible by advanced technology id Tech® 6. Visit Nazi-invaded America and find the brave leaders of the resistance who survived.Fight the Nazis in the small town of Roswell, New Mexico, on the flooded streets of New Orleans and in radiation-contaminated Manhattan. Collect a cool arsenal and master new abilities to crush legions of Nazi fighters, cyborgs and super soldiers.

At the beginning of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, watching the introductory video will remind you of the events of The New Order, as well as prompting you to re-make important decisions.

    Solution – Wyatt or Fergus

In this case, you will need to choose a character who should be sacrificed (General Skull will kill him, and the second will survive). The differences in your choice are as follows:

    • Click on Fergus and Wyatt will survive – you will be able to break mechanical locks with the help of master keys, thereby collecting the contents of the lockers for clothes.
    • Click on Wyatt and Fergus will stay alive – you will be able to close the electrical circuits of electronic locks, opening doors and drawers without mechanical devices.

In addition to collecting various items, the choice affects how exactly you can go through the game in the future – the paths in some chapters may differ. Therefore, we will indicate what choice was made in our walkthrough.

    Choice – Wyatt

Continue watching the cut-scene, and then throw the pitchers at the father of the protagonist. After a while, you will have to make a shot – either aim at the dog or past it. In the second case, the father himself will finish the dog.

    Under siege

Captured Nazi submarine “Hammer of Eve”

Ride your wheelchair to the doorway and talk to the Kreisau soldier.Taking a rifle, roll out into the corridor and kill the first opponents. Pay attention to additional tasks, such as killing a certain number of enemies without aiming mode, headshots, etc. To the left of your room, on the gurney is the first collectible sketch. We will tell you more about the collection items in separate guides.

Roll to the right, collecting cartridges, bandages and armor (helmets), continuing to kill opponents. Note that the two enemies behind the bulletproof glass were destroyed by some kind of strong impulse.Roll in their direction and you will see a device with a magnetic field. Approach him for Set to turn off the field. Interact with the indicated door.

After the cut-scene, move along the corridor and activate the first trap to kill the enemy. You will need to activate and deactivate traps in order to kill enemies and move on accordingly. To deactivate a trap, the lever of which is on the other side, shoot at it (in this case, the trap will no longer be activated).Killing enemies, get to a place with a huge rotating mechanism. Roll on one of the rising blades to get to the top and kill the enemy.

Silent murder. To kill enemies silently, approach them from behind and click on the mouse wheel.

After killing enemies, get to the platform that rises and falls down. On it, go upstairs and examine the dashboard on the left to find the first note (Note by Soldier Oscar). The same as in the case of sketches – we will write about the location of each note in a separate guide.

Go down using the long pipe and then follow the conveyor at the bottom of the stairs. Move to another conveyor, then move in its direction. A Nazi will appear, who will switch the conveyor and complicate the task. After killing enemies, sit in a wheelchair. The path to the conveyor control panel is blocked by a magnetic trap. Turn around and move to the wall, then to the right behind the box, through the slightly opened door, find the trap control panel.

Destroy it with an accurate shot, turn around and move to another part of the corridor to go around the wall and drive on the other side of the door.At the end you will find a room with grenades and a note from Commandant Fisher.

Continue along the long conveyor. You can silently sneak past the enemies, or you can kill them, as if storming the Skull Fortress. Get to the two doors, where the one that leads forward is blocked by a magnetic trap. Follow the door on the right. Move along the marker, but turn to the right side of it, through the ventilation hole, in the compartment to find the diary of the rebel M. from Kreisau lying on the box.

To the right of the desired toggle switch will be a dashboard with the newspaper “American Territories Thrive Under the New Regime.” Get to the desired remote and click on it. Drive the conveyor further and use the lift lever. Watch the cut-scene, after which you will find yourself on the upper deck.

    General Engel’s Flying Fortress

After a lengthy cutscene, you will finally be liberated. Pick up your weapon. You can click on X to take two assault rifles in two hands. Soon the daughter of General Engel will direct you to the control compartment – go through the door and find a grate in the floor.Jump up to “Space” and then click on the left CTRL to break it. The same method can be used to attack enemies from above.

Move to the next hatch, turn around and take out the ax from the cabinet. Use it and the SCM (mouse wheel) to destroy the door and climb along the duct.

Soon you will reach a room with a group of enemies, including two officers and three ordinary soldiers. Climb the stairs to the right and sneak up on the officer from behind for a silent kill.If he is moving towards you, then immediately go down and wait until the signal begins to move away. This will mean that he moves away from you with his back. Go down and move along the ventilation on the side. Jump down into the dashboard room and kill the first fascist. Deal with the other two, and then silently kill the officer himself. You will receive Enigma codes from each officer.

Having straightened out, go through the gate in front, from where ordinary soldiers will come running. You need a lever behind the door on the right, but it cannot be opened. There is a hatch on the left – break open and climb to the very end until you get out of the duct into the next room. Pull the lever and open all the doors. Throw the grenade into the room with the tank, and after the explosion, jump down.

Get to the desired room, pull the lever and free the submarine “Hammer of Eva”. Now you need to get out of the airship. Move in the opposite direction and fight a soldier in an armored suit in a familiar room. This thug can use dashes against you in battle, as well as powerful laser weapons.

Avoid it – fortunately, the enemy will shoot with short beams. Having dealt with the target, pick up a laser weapon and shoot the doors with yellow stripes. Such doors can be destroyed with a laser. Deal with the group of soldiers, destroy the door on the right from the weapon and go to the lever. By pulling it, you can get out of the airship.

There are two officers in addition to the usual enemies. Go downstairs and move along the balcony to kill the first commander. After taking the Enigma code, go around the enemy from behind and finish him off.The second will go to him – you will need to go around the wall and quickly deal with him before he has time to find a dead body. In the far corner, find the steps and go upstairs.

Kill the officer. If you sneak up on armored enemies from behind, then with the help of a silent attack, you can cut the fuel hose – it remains to shoot at the flowing liquid in order to burn the enemy.

Climbing higher, go through the door and kill several opponents. Move back until you find yourself with Wyat and Zingur.Kill enemies and climb into the escape pod to leave the level.

    Compartment F

    Hammer of Eve

After the cutscene, it turns out that Compartment F is real, and someone from there sends a signal to General Engel’s flying fortress. At the beginning of the mission, you will be given a dieselcraftwerk. This weapon leaves a sticky projectile when fired, which you can detonate. If you take this weapon in two hands, then the projectiles will explode upon contact with each other (i.e., with each shot).

Shoot at the hatch welded on that side with LMB, and then press RMB to detonate the stuck projectile. Break the hatch in the floor with a jump and blow from the air, follow the ventilation and take the soldier Mueller’s diary from the shelves on the right in front of the stairs upstairs. After rising, deal with a few Fritz, acting silently. First, wait for one of them to come closer to you, then kill the one on the left. Move forward and up. Find the hatch under your feet and jump to destroy it.

Billy’s friend will contact you here. Turn to the fan on the right and on the floor on the left, find the letter of the soldier Fritz. Move on until you jump into the water and eventually find yourself in a room with two officers and several ordinary fascists. I recommend going upstairs and eliminating the first officer. Then wait – a couple more opponents will approach you (hide behind a box near the officer’s corpse). Then you can run over to lure enemies from below (they will rise to check the source of the noise). After killing everyone, you will hear a new message from Ani. Raise the alarm – you will have to fight with the crowd of Nazis.

Move to the adjacent room and jump down through the rubble to pick up supplies and a postcard from Franca. Move further along the large pipe and go upstairs, to the metal stairs, where you will need to kill enemies. The officer is in the locked wheelhouse, so here, in any case, you will have to use the dieselcraftwerk and blow up the door. Destroy the radio transmitter by shooting the red tank on the right. At the same time, you will break through the passage further.

In the next room, in addition to the officer and ordinary enemies, there will be a turret. You can go around it and pick it up to use it as a laser weapon. Eventually, you will return back to your team, thus completing the mission.

After leaving Wyatt’s room, go left and see Bombato and Max arguing, protecting the pig. Go a little further and in Max’s room on the right, find a colorful card for Max “Happy Birthday”.Proceed further and down the stairs to the locker room with the bald mechanic. There is a star card in the cabinet to his left. Find the newspaper on the bridge with Alessandro di Stefano on the table.

Talk to Seth, follow the marker and destroy the drone while chasing him through the shooting range. By the way, near Seth you can find a tube with a map that will facilitate the study of the ship.

Communicate with Seth again, then with Anya and Wyat. Watch the cut-scene, at the end of which you will find yourself in Manhattan.

To get out of these ruins, you need to use a dieselcraftwerk and shoot at the dampers in the concrete pipes. You will see the first one directly, and the second one – from the inside (look through the hole on the side). You will soon be out on the street.

Move along the street and deal with the first group of enemies led by an officer. If you do not raise the alarm, then the other opponents from the building will not notice you. Enter the building itself, clear it and climb to the very top to walk along the street. Going down, you will find a drone. I was never able to neutralize him silently, so I had to make a lot of noise with the third group of Nazis. At the same time, the officer will be in the far edge of the map, but in order to get to him, you need to clear the building on the left (on the top floor, by the way, there is a weapon upgrade kit). In it, on the second floor, near the exit, there is a sketch. After that, break forward and kill the big man with the grenade launcher.

Having dealt with everyone, examine the asphalt and find the hatch leading down to the metro. Several dogs will have to be killed at the station. By the way, there is a newspaper issue on the right of the train. Go forward along any of the two tunnels (through the carriages) and turn into the center corridor. After killing two enemies, do not turn, but move to the very end. Here you will have to destroy the crocodile, and then pick up the star card.

Follow through several other trains until you encounter other opponents, including a big man with grenade launchers. Passenger John’s diary is on the side of another train track. Go through the door by blowing it up with the Diesel Kraftwerk and start the generator. Be sure to pick up a set of weapons lying on the ground. Enter the train and launch it to move and clear the passage further. You will need to kill two big guys or just run away from them. Enter another train and run it to leave this level and get out of the metro.

After getting out, turn around and go upstairs, where the Nazi device is located (and where you flew from). There is a star card on the ground next to him. Go downstairs, go forward and enter the building. Immediately pick up the location card from the floor on the left. The first enemy will be nearby in the corridor – kill him from behind with an ax or a headshot if you already have a silencer on your pistol.Behind the bathroom to the left, where the first enemy stood, lies gold.

Make your way through the building, climbing higher and higher, and kill enemies. When you need to move to another part of the building, be careful – protective drones are floating in the air. It is unlikely that you will be able to avoid them, but try it. Also on this side of the building (not where the officer is) on the upper tier, find the sofa on which the sketch lies.

Climb up, go to the officer and kill him. From here you need to jump down through the hole at the corner of the wall.

Once below, you will see a huge robot. You can’t kill him now, don’t even try. Bend down and make your way into the hole on the right. Climb to the second floor, collect supplies, including the weapon upgrade kit. There is no direct path to the building in which the Nazis settled. But there are debris here that you must jump to the right place. Once on the spot, deal with the enemies and get to the elevator doors. You need to open the elevator shaft and climb the stairs to leave the level. On the other hand, do not rush – there is a reception desk near the elevator, and a sketch is on one of the shelves.

All you have to do is kill your enemies and prevent yourself from dying. Immediately turn around and take out the location card from the locker. It will come in handy when collecting useful items.

A lot of ammunition is scattered around the location, so difficulties should not arise. After you deal with everyone, you will need to jump on the helicopter of new friends. But you shouldn’t rush! You can find several collectibles. The sketch is upstairs in the room you spawned in. Going downstairs and approaching the helicopter, pick up the plate lying on the table and take the postcard. Walk closer to the elevator shaft you climbed. There is a newspaper on the table on the right and a note on the left. Take a running jump onto the helicopter.

    Old Secrets

You can devote a few minutes to exploring the location and collecting collectibles, or you can immediately go to compartment F through the lower tier, interacting with the lockers in the locker room.

    Return to compartment F

Follow through the ventilation and go upstairs through the pipes. Make your way through the duct and jump into the water. Swim forward to the staircase you need to climb. To float to the surface using the Spacebar. Get to the remote and press the red button to disable the rotating screw. Jump into the water and swim through the tunnel behind the screw, get out and climb the stairs. On the side, on the boxes is a map of the territory.

Reach the area with several sarcophagi and restore power by pulling the marked lever. We’ll have to destroy three big guys, which will appear in the second sequence after the death of the first, and the third after the destruction of the second. Having dealt with them, look around, and then jump down into the mine, along which the capsule rose after the destruction of the last enemy. At the bottom, move along the corridor to the very end, but be prepared for the appearance of two more armored targets. After destroying them, you will find a locked door on the left.

There is a remote control behind the glass in front, but how to get to it? Go from the glass, behind which the dashboard is visible, slightly to the right and bend down, being in the water, to crawl under the grate. After climbing into the control room, pull the lever, and then go back and go through the opened door.

Go upstairs, kill the robot and one big guy. Be sure to refuel your dieselcraftwerk, which is the best way to destroy armored targets. Move even higher and in the room find a sketch along with a lever that opens access to the compartment with a nuclear warhead.Go down and destroy three more big guys. Enter the room and interact with the warhead to complete the quest.

    Old secrets

Talk to Seth, go to Grace and watch the cut-scene. Then move to the upper deck, where the helipad is located, and refuel the aircraft. You will need to refuel the dieselcraftwerk several times, but everything will go quickly. Go back and report Grace’s success, but first collect the collectibles.

Get to Papa Joe American Cafe and go inside.By the way, several collectibles are scattered around the city at once, mostly star cards and newspapers. After collecting them, go inside the diner and interact with the bell. Sit on the bar stool next to you and watch the cut-scene with the appearance of a German officer. After a few seconds, get up, close the door and complete the first part of the quest.

    Underground station

Once in the catacombs, move forward for a long time, and then you will find yourself at the metro station. Get down on the right and silently deal with the first enemy – everything is quite simple! Jump down through the hatch located next to the soldier, and find gold near the boxes under the wall on the right (when you go down even lower, to the rails). Also on the right, but closer to the stairs leading to the next opponents, you can find an improvement kit.

Go along the left side, where a lonely enemy walks, deal with him and find the star card on the dashboard in the far corner. Now go in a circle and go up the stairs on the right side up to the control room. The officer and his dog will be here. Sneak up to the officer and kill him, and then shoot the dog with a weapon with a silencer. On the other hand, you can try to kill her with the same ax.Having figured it out, search the control room and find a sketch, an electronic entry, a diary of an unknown Nazi scientist, Eliza’s letter and another star card.

After lowering the jet engine, it remains to get on the train. But you can continue exploring the location. Go downstairs and go right to the end of the train, where you have not yet been. Behind the boxes lies another ingot of gold. Cross over to the other side, go upstairs and sneak past the soldiers standing at the railing – one ordinary and the other armored. On the right, there will be a large corridor with two rooms at once. In the room on the left, find a note, two star cards, and an email. There is also a location map here. The room on the right contains a sketch, music record, email, gold bar, and letter from American citizens.

After you deal with everyone, jump onto the roof of the train and climb inside through the open hatch. Pull the indicated lever to start the train.

    Freight Train

Now is the time to take control of the train. At the end of this car there is a weapon stand with a new weapon – a shotgun.

Move forward, kill opponents and collect ammunition. At the end of the car there will be two staircases – one leading to the bottom and the other to the top. No matter how you go, you still have to fight opponents. Having shot everyone, enter the cars in front, clean them up and kill the officer. An email can be found in one of the rooms. I couldn’t find anything else on the train – so feel free to kill opponents, move to the head carriage and choose how to get to the station – slowly or as quickly as possible.

If you go slowly, there will be a chance to go through part of the location secretly. If you choose a fast route, the enemies will know about your arrival and you will have to kill everyone. One way or another, despite the large space of the station, you can find only one newspaper here – in one of the control rooms with dashboards. Get to the lift and start it with any remote control. Fight off the opponents here and above, and then go to the captain’s room. After killing him, go left and find a letter in the back room.Go to the room located behind the officer to find a postcard from Franca on one of the tables. Follow on and you will find yourself in a completely different part of the location.

Here you need to load the warhead, but there will be even more opponents, including two officers. Before killing the officer in front, examine all the tables on your right hand and you will find two collectibles. After that, deal with the officer and try to also silently eliminate the second. Then kill the remaining opponents, open the reactor and install the warhead. Now the hardest part is getting out of here.

If you are playing on easy difficulty, you can hold down Shift and run into the gate from where a huge robot appeared. Otherwise, you will have to shoot ordinary soldiers without leaning out of cover, and then deceive the robot, go around it and run away. After opening the door and passing to the landing, go upstairs. Kill the fleeing scientists and look into the office on the right to find a postcard. Find an email on one of the tables in the center of the lower tier.Go upstairs and go through the billiard room into the long corridor. After destroying several opponents, you will be able to leave the oberkomando through the indicated door.

    Mesquite, TX

Go to the stable on the right side and view the flashback. Take a look into the room on the left, where you can find a star card, a newspaper and a gold bar. Examine the tree to see another memory, and then go inside the house. In the room on the right you can find one star card and two letters. From there, go to the kitchen to find another star card and an excerpt from a newspaper article. Go up to the second floor and enter the nursery in front. Find two star cards and then interact with the cube on the curbstone to view the memories.

If you go to the parent’s bedroom, you will leave the level. That is why first go down to the basement, find a star card, a gold bar, Billy Blaskowitz’s note, and an upgrade kit. Go upstairs and go into the bedroom. After watching the video, the house will be lifted into the air by the flying fortress General Engel. Use the ax to destroy the grab and move through the wreckage, destroying the drones. Get to the second capture and do the same. Jump down to the third capture, kill all the soldiers, but do not rush – there is a letter not far from the capture. After picking it up, break the grip and watch a lengthy cut-scene.

After a few cutscenes and cutscenes, you will finally be called guilty. As soon as the bailiff turns away from you, click on the mouse wheel to attack opponents and pick up weapons. Shoot opponents. Destroy them until the side and front doors open. Go through any of them and, if you are sure, leave the building by completing the level.

Watch an even longer cut-scene and an unexpected ending of the execution.

    New suit

In the end, you will need to choose a new device that you will use for the rest of the game – we are talking about a corset, power braces and combat stilts. In the first case, you will be able to move through narrow slits – the corset compresses William’s body, not allowing him to breathe. On the other hand, you cannot squeeze the corset for a long time, as William may suffocate. It activates automatically when you move in a squat position.

The second device (which I have chosen) will replace the dieselcraftwerk (or laserkraftwerk). With it, when accelerating, you can smash thin door sheets, boxes, and even knock down Nazis (one at a time). Fires automatically when accelerating.

Finally, the third device is activated by double pressing the jump key (Space). After this action, long stilts are put forward, allowing you to climb up hills, use cover from above, and generally choose a more advantageous tactical position.

Select a device and wait for Seth to ask you to demonstrate what you can do. In general, the polygon will be the same, although you can go through it in different ways. In the case of power brackets, you need to accelerate and crash into the doors.Climb higher and smash another door, then knock down some Nazi mockups. Next, you need to break the boxes blocking the path. Press the red button to end your workout. But you should not rush – next to her on the floor are a set of improvements and a star card.

    Side Quests

While on Eve’s Hammer, you can complete several side quests. Go to Ani’s room, which is down the corridor from Seth’s laboratory, and open it. Watch the cut-scene.Also check out Rosa, a pig whose room is located near Bombato’s and Max’s chambers. Interact with the pig – it needs to be fed. Exit to the main hall where there are stairs leading up and down. Follow the marker to the right towards Grace, but stop at Ritva Tuomivaara. She will ask you to remove the obstacles blocking the way in the warehouse. Talk to her and start descending.

Break crates if using power brackets. I don’t know if this task will be used when choosing other adaptations for a new suit, but in my case it was. Also, if you want to feed Rose the pig, then go to the dining room and look at the warehouse nearby – collect the potatoes lying on the floor and shelves. Take the pig and interact with it to feed it.

Go to Grace, talk to her and interact with the military map. Now there is only one point on it, and it leads to Manhattan. Confirm your choice.

Get the dossier on New Orleans

You will find yourself in a destroyed apartment building, where high levels of radiation prevail. You need to act quickly, because over time, radiation takes away health points from you. Go down below and below, destroying the Nazi creatures, after which you will find yourself in the room with the first officer. Try to finish him off with a silenced weapon, not forgetting about the dogs. Finish off the remaining fascists and follow downward. The entrance to the bomb shelter is located inside a separate building, which can be entered in three ways:

    1. If you have a corset, then go to the left of the building and find a small gap below – bend down and the corset will automatically reduce you in size, allowing you to get inside.
    2. If you have power brackets, then take a running run down the grate in the doorway.
    3. If you have stilts, then use them to climb the tall boxes and jump onto the canopy to get inside through the opening here.

Open the door and you will find yourself in the anti-nuclear shelter. On the right, find a tube with a location map. You can get to the next room in several ways, depending on the selected gadget. Unfortunately, if you have power braces, you will have to punch through the entrance, which means that it will not work silently.Eliminate the captain as soon as possible so that he does not call for endless help. Having dealt with the enemies and taking the Enigma code from the captain, move further through the periodically opening and closing blades.

Get down and kill all opponents, including one officer. There are two control rooms – in both, you have to activate the switches to open the heavy doors. After that, armored guys will appear. On the other hand, in the control rooms you can find collectibles – a sketch and a note in one, and a postcard from Clara in the other.

Go down the steps and take the star card from the loader opposite them. Next there will be a room with a mechanical dog. Another one will appear after the first one spots you. To deal with the dogs, use the powerful weapons that can be found in the boxes in the rooms on the right and left (wait for the blades to open). First, get this weapon, and then rush into battle. Destroying dogs with a machine gun or a pistol is unrealistic. Unless you use a shotgun with the “Rotor” upgrade, which allows you to shoot three rounds at the same time. You will also need a dieselcraftwerk or laserkraftwerk in battle.

You can sneak past the dogs and imperceptibly – honor and praise to you in that case! To get into the elevator shaft, use a narrow slot, a grate in the doorway or a balcony on top, depending on the installed gadget – a corset, braces and stilts, respectively. After jumping into the mine, click on the button to start the elevator.

Next, a segment is waiting for you directly, where you will find the necessary dossier. Move along the wall around the room, hiding behind the dashboards.Stand on the corner, look out and from a pistol with a silencer kill the soldier inside the “bunker” and what is outside of it. Save and kill another enemy with a shotgun to the right. To get into this “bunker”, you will have to use your devices – a doorway with a grate and a narrow manhole are located next to a high balcony. Get inside, silently kill one officer from below, and another from above. If you do not raise the alarm, then there will be no other fighters here.

At the bottom of the bunker, find an email and a note.Upstairs find a newspaper, a music record, and a postcard (in the same room as the dossier). Take the dossier and shoot the appeared soldiers. Exit through the door where the enemies came from and put on a gas mask. Launch a huge lift, and while it is moving upward, destroy mechanical robots. Next, interact with the plane.

    Hammer of Eva

Once on the submarine, shoot the robots, and then help Bombat up. Watch the cut-scene with Seth.

From now on you can use the Enigma machine, which is located in the room with the military card.

    How to use Enigma?

As you progress through the game, you kill enemy officers who are guaranteed to drop one Enigma code. If you want to collect all the collectibles and re-examine those cards that you have already visited, you will have to decipher the Enigma codes and find the chief commanders. They should be killed. Interact with the chair and open the Enigma interface. At first, not all Chief Commanders will be available for decryption. This is because you haven’t opened every card yet. However, now, if you have killed all the officers on the previous maps, you have the opportunity to decipher almost all of the chief commanders.

In addition, when you go through the military card to destroy the chief commander, in most cases you will meet one or two more officers, from whom the Enigma codes will still drop out.

To decipher the location of one or another Chief Commander, a certain number of Enigma codes are required. The more codes you need, the more difficult is not the decoding itself, but the mission to eliminate the target. At the top of the Enigma, you see a six-piece code combination. Each piece, in turn, is divided into two halves. In the lower part there is an input scale – you must move both Enigma ribbons so that the upper and lower parts coincide with the first character of the code sequence above. If so (you need to collect the symbol in the center, in the highlighted cells), then press Enter. If successful, the machine will switch to the second of the six characters in the sequence and you will again need to match it on the tapes below. When you collect all six symbols, you will find out the location of the chief commander.

If you make a mistake or miss the time (the countdown is reset after each character), you will lose one Enigma code. In such cases, if you feel that you are not in time, manually close the car using the Esc key. This way you won’t lose your code!

Take on missions in which you can find toys for Max and other collectibles, and then talk to Grace to continue the story.

    New Orleans

At the beginning of the mission, you will learn that you need to get into New Orleans, surrounded by a huge wall. Enter the building on the right side to find a music record behind the shop. Move to the wall itself and near it you will see a building, and on the left – a double-decker bus. There is a newspaper on the second floor of the bus, and gold lies on one of the shelves inside the building resembling a shop.

By the way, I highly recommend completing the missions to kill the chief commanders, because in one of them you can find a new update for the costume. At the beginning, I chose the power braces, and in the mission with the chief commander in the bunker I was able to find a compression corset.

To get inside, you can go to the large hall of the building on the right and take a running start to destroy the ventilation panel in the opening. But to the left of the store there is a staircase, along which you can freely climb up and go inside the wall.

Turn your back against the wall between the double-decker bus and the building. See the little blue car? To the left of it there is a wooden stand – it is under it that a letter is lying on the ground.

Climb up the stairs, open the hatch and make your way into the building. There will be two officers at once. In this room, where you got, find a sketch on the table. Then move forward along the left wall. There will be nothing in the first room on the left. Before you get to the second, it is advisable to silently neutralize one ordinary soldier and one officer. In the second room on the left, on one of the tables is an email. There will be another enemy at the top, at the end of the corridor, and at the bottom there will be two more. One will stand at the very beginning, at the blocked passage, and the other will patrol the corridor on the side. You can kill both.

Go upstairs, deal with one more officer and an armored enemy. There will be two more enemies on the third tier, but there is nothing else. On the second floor in the first room on the right, find a map, and on the second, find a set of improvements. Climb up the stairs at the end of the corridor and go outside.

This is New Orleans. Deal with the opponents in the courtyard, in the buildings on the left, find a star card and a sketch. In the first building on the right, go up to the second floor and find a note from a resistance fighter.Enter the indicated building in front, find the newspaper in the room on the left, and then go to another part of the street, where ordinary Nazis are waiting for you. After shooting everyone, swim on the water and climb to the surface through the destroyed bus, half submerged in water.

There will be several more opponents here, including an armored Nazi. However, even now it is possible to operate silently. Next, you need to enter the building on the right. This can be done in three ways – through two doors with yellow and black stripes (using a dash with power brackets or Diesel Kraftwerk / Lasercraftwerk) or through a small slot on the side.In general, the slots, as I understand it, are intended precisely for silent passage, because opponents can detect you from an explosion or knocking out a door.

I would recommend immediately breaking the door on the left and getting into the workshop, where there is a star card on one of the tables. If it does not work, then you can get into the workshop from the depot by breaking or blowing up a cracked wall. The building is large, which means you can easily clear it in stealth mode. There are no armored opponents here, but there is one dog and two officers.Kill them all, and then find a booth on the second floor. Enter it by knocking out or blowing up the door, and pull the lever to energize the tap. Next, you need to go through a part of the building on the left and climb even higher to find the crane booth. Ride it forward and go down to the platforms on the other side.

Go to the next depot, kill opponents and in one of the carriages in the middle, find the star card. Follow forward to a dead end, where William will say that you need to make a new passage.Find the sketch on the tables on the right. Now there are two options – either you break through the passage, hitting the wall with a crack in front (you need power braces), or go down and throw a grenade at the red tank. The explosion forms a hole below. One way or another, you will need to go upstairs and jump out into the courtyard through the hole in the wall.

There will be a mechanical dog and many other opponents, including two big guys. Kill the last ones first or one of them in order to pick up a powerful weapon that will allow you to destroy the robop.Next, break the wall, knock / blow up the gate, move under or over them, depending on the available weapons and devices. Once in the yard, go forward a little and turn left. There will be gold in the room with the corpse, and there is a star card on the table to the right of the entrance to it.

Make your way through the building and reach Horton’s lair. Kill all the fascists, take the sketch inside the room opposite Horton, and then go upstairs. A long cut-scene awaits you.

    Walk on Panzerhound

This time you will control a robotic dog.You can dismount at any time to replenish William’s ammunition or collect collectibles. So, as soon as you appear at the location, get off the dog by pressing the left CTRL and pull the star card out of the car on the left. Having done this, climb Panzerhound and walk along the city streets, destroying all the fascists. Going out on the first street, look into the building on the left side, where you can get through an open window. There is a diary on one of the counters of the counter.

Turn right down the street, go down again from Panzerhound and look for a newspaper in the building on the left.A little further in the building to the right (the entrance to which is illuminated by blue light), you can find another star card. At the fork where the combat vehicle is, turn left (after going down from Panzerhound). Do not rush to fall down into the pit where you can break the boards in the passage, but go to the entrance at the end and find a set of improvements on the side. Enter the building and find a sketch and two emails (in three different rooms). There will also be an officer in one of the rooms.

Take the alley on the right, but you don’t have to jump onto the Panzerhound. There is a note and a star card in the building on the left. Continue moving, and when you find yourself inside the factory, then literally before the first descent down on the corner on the right, find a newspaper. Follow below, get to the sewer and enter it. When you clear the enemies, including the officer with the code “Enigma”, then look for a hole through which you should jump down. This is where you say goodbye to Panzerhound. Swim on the water and climb one flight.

Kill an enemy and find gold in the corner. Follow even higher, enter the destroyed building and on the second tier (although this is probably the first) in the room to the left, find a sketch and a star card.Climb to the very top by killing enemies and open the door to complete the level.

    Kill everyone

So, Horton and his people are preparing to withdraw, and your task is to divert the attention of the Nazis. Here, all that is required of you is to move along the marker and kill opponents, including a huge robot. Although it can be avoided and go straight to the end of the road to the left, where there is a descent into the sewer. Climb several floors of the indicated building, after running across the street, and clear it.Board the Eva’s Hammer.

When you find yourself in the hall, then turn around and take the note from the table. Then take the notes lying on the chair, and then click on E again to make notes on your hand. When it’s your turn, pick the phrases you want. Although the text on your hand will be blurry, it is easy to match it to the available phrases. In addition, every time one or two phrases drop out because of their stupidity and irrelevance.

After it is your turn to fight a soldier, interact with him by clicking on the mouse wheel, and then shoot by quickly clicking on the LMB.By the way, before entering, you can kick Hitler, but before that, be sure to save yourself, because Blaskowitz will be killed. But you can earn achievement! You will have two attempts to shoot the guard by attacking him in close combat. If you do not have time to click on LMB a second time, he will shoot you. Shortly thereafter, a cutscene will begin with William equipping his weapon.

After leaving the room, turn left and look into the extreme room. An officer will be here. After killing him, take away the Enigma code, as well as the sketch that is in the room. One enemy walks in the corridor, and two more communicate at the bar above. Through one room in the neighborhood, find a musical record, and opposite it, near the dashboards, there is a tube with a map of the area. There will be two more open rooms, one of them is empty, and the other is a fascist and a set of improvements. Upstairs, on one of the tables, find gold.

Move further through the double doors at the bar, deal with a group of enemies and one more officer. In the room with the monument and the passage to the right (a long tunnel with a fork, but a dead end), there is a star card on the table.Walk a little forward and turn into the room to the left or right (depending on which side you are going from). Inside the room, there is a newspaper on the table. Here, on a small table on the right, there is a star card.

Go further and you will see two doors leading to parallel laboratories. An email can be found in the lab on the right. Go along the corridor, killing enemies, enter the room with the capsule and go around it to find a sketch on the seat. Click on the button to trigger the capsule and then interact with it, which will lead to the completion of the level.

    On the surface of Venus

After getting to the surface, you will move around in a spacesuit. When you are in it in the open air, the spacesuit gradually heats up, which makes it unsuitable for life. It is necessary to periodically fill the freon at the appropriate stations.

Move forward and if you wish, destroy the huge robot. To do this, you need to destroy both of his arms, which are equipped with a flamethrower and a mortar. Enter the building on the left and start destroying opponents, trying to act silently.By the way, when you cut the fuel hose of armored enemies and undermine them with an accurate shot, in most cases the alarm does not work and the officer does not know about it.

You need to enter from the bottom, since there are opening doors here, while the glass doors will have to be broken from above. Having dealt with everyone, look around in the first room to find a map, star card, sketch and note. Climb into the basement through the hatch in the center of the room (if you did not raise the alarm, because the door is closed until enemies detect you) and move down to the adjacent room.Kill the officer and other Nazis, go to the room with a long staircase and move along it to the very top.

Climb even higher, killing opponents and using cooling stations. Deal with the Nazis and the captain. Another new enemy will appear here – a small robotic dog. Go inside after everyone is killed. Find the sketch in the dressing room on the bench to the left. Go outside through another door and follow the elevator up.

When you find yourself in the room with the scientists, then kill them all, and then take the sample “Uberweger”.This is another heavy cannon. To fire, you need to hold the RMB to charge it, and then click the LMB. A powerful discharge will fly out, sucking everyone around like a black hole. Exit through the other door, test the cannon on the crowd of scientists and follow through the white airlock in front of you into the street. Move down the conveyor and then up, dealing with opponents. In the next building there will be two officers at once.

Immediately go to the table on the right and find a sketch on the chair. Here I recommend to kill opponents silently – shoot the first one on the bridge, the second on your floor to the right and the third at the very end.Next, wait for the enemies on the bridge to notice the corpse and begin to frantically move around the location. Shoot them, save more often, and then go upstairs and go to the left wing (in the direction of travel it will already be right). There are three rooms on the right, and in each of them you can find something – a sketch, gold and a music record, respectively, as you move.

Go to the other side of the bridge and enter the room with the red cistern. There is a set of improvements on the carts on the right. Follow forward and right, but do not rush.On the left hand there are two corridors with glass cells. In the first one, there is gold in one of the cells – break the glass and take it. Head right and kill the captain. Take the star card from the carts near him, and then enter the elevator and press the button.

Going upstairs, shoot all opponents and take the newspaper from one of the benches. Go to another part of the corridor and look into the adjacent room – this is the “Oberkommando”.

Shoot opponents, acting stealthily.Immediately after entering, go a little to the left and find a sketch on the dashboard. There are other collectibles here – on the tables in the central room, find the email, the star card, and the gold under the far table.

Note. In the room on the left is your target. To get there, destroy the large ball in the center and you will see a ventilation pipe leading to the desired room. But there is another collectible in the room to the right – an email. To get there, you need stilts (notice another vent on top).If you do not have them, you will have to replay the game.

Destroy the ball, follow the ventilation and download the codes for “Odin” from the computer.

    Lost in the sea

Go into the dark room and interact with the cake in Anya’s hands. Watch a lengthy cut-scene.

Before carrying out the main task related to the search for the missing Wyatt, take a look around the ship. Click on G and you will find dotted markers that indicate the location of the characters that issue side quests. Two of them can be completed directly on the ship, and the third is to go to the location through the military map. The third task will be associated with the search for combat stilts (or other missing device).

First, go to the dining room and go downstairs. Go to the pantry, in the passage of which is Khabib Ismail. Chat with him – he asks to turn off the gas and will open the ventilation hatch for you (if you have a compressible corset). If there is no corset, then this task may appear later. Climb through the hole, move from room to room and attack the dogs with an ax.Keep driving. In one of the rooms upstairs, when a gas tank is visible on the bottom right, it may seem that you are at a dead end. Find a narrow passage to the side and follow through it. Eventually, you will need to find a valve – close it, bend over and climb through the hole on the side. Get out back and Ismail will thank you.

To get to the stilts in the transit sector (if you also lack only them), you will have to decipher the Enigma code, indicating the chief commander located there. After that, move there, deal with the enemies and get to the room with the locked commander. To get into it, you will need stilts. Go downstairs under the room and enter the basement where the stilts are lying around. Now, double-clicking on the “Space”, rise higher and higher, and, in the end, jump into the room through the hatch.

Kill the commander, take the death card and leave the level.

Next, you need to help a black man near the room of William and Anya.He is wary of the huge rat in the armory. The armory itself is located next door – look into the AMMO DEPOT room and pick up the box lying on the floor. The rat will run away – go back and talk to the quest giver.

Finally, let’s go looking for Wyatt. Just go to different characters and they will say something about him. Finally, some of them will say that he was with Paris, and Paris himself is in the Kreisau club, above the cafeteria. Go to the dining room, go upstairs and talk to Paris, a dark-skinned man who plays the clarinet. You learn that Wyatt went to the shooting range.

Go down to the shooting range (use the map – it has all the markers you need – just activate the description of markers with the E key), climb over the counter where the button that launches the targets is located, and go down to the basement through the hole on the side.

Climb forward, jump down and destroy the hatch with the Diesel Kraftwerk. Interact with the door when you’re ready to leave the level. Watch the cut-scene.

Don’t rush and don’t jump after Anya – you won’t have time to do it even with your combat stilts! Wait for Anya to open the entrance for you and follow her.Kill the enemies, after which Anya will contact Zignur and find the control panel. Wait and soon the girl will open the door ahead.

Go through this door, kill a huge number of opponents and turn right in the middle of the corridor. Turn right again and you will see grates in the doorway. Break them and go up the yellow stairs. Move along the marker using the hatches and find the desired remote control. Enter the code to disable the port guns.

Take the shortcut back to which the marker is pointing.Kill opponents. When you are in the place where you said goodbye to Anya, she will appear from the next capsule. If Anya did not jump out, then there are enemies nearby – kill them. You will understand that there are no enemies by the triggered autosave and the icon that appears.

Enter the capsule, then kill the enemy who tore out the roof. Get out of the capsule by pressing E, shoot the rotating screw and follow the ventilation into the new room. After killing the enemies, find a long corridor that goes a little lower and get to the gun control room on the starboard side. After killing the officer, disable the weapons. Return to the previous central room and kill everyone. You need to climb higher – look up and you will see the necessary stairs, marked with a marker.

To get there, climb the steps to the side and jump onto a long mechanical arm that can be used to run across to the central area. Climb higher, run forward and find yourself in an area with a huge robot and two officers. Kill everyone, including the officer, and then go up through the room in the far right corner (there will be a yellow staircase).Further there will be another staircase – move higher along it, deal with opponents and get to the control room. Kill the captains, go to the very roof. Here you will need to kill several opponents flying out of the capsules, and at the end a new huge robot will appear from behind the gate. More precisely, there will be two of them.

    How to defeat huge robots?

There is no definite secret here. Shoot any part of their body. You can’t shoot down a weapon anyway. Use the machine-gun dots with laser-shifters placed on the sides.Focus on attacking one enemy, and then switch to the second. Bunkers are useful as shelters – you can also find ammunition and armor there. Trying to kill with conventional weapons is stupid.

After the victory, enter the garage, from where the enemies appeared, and then go up the stairs. Get to the very top, take the postcard from the dashboard, and then open the door. Watch the cut-scene.

    Frau Engel

In this mission you need to get under the seats, take the elevator upstairs, and go downstairs on the other.Next, run up to General Engel and attack her in close combat. Watch the final cut-scene.

How to unlock the secret mission

Even after completing the main story of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, you can always find something to do. There are many side quests that are unlocked with Enigma codes, assassination missions, tasks related to finding or upgrading accessories for a new costume, and even a few small requests from like-minded people on the Eve’s Hammer. All this will take a long time to complete, but at the end of the path there will be an unusual reward – a completely new mission with a unique location that you will not find anywhere else.

The rest of the side quests are re-visits to previously passed places in the game’s plot. The only new area is unlocked after you open the location of all the chief commanders in the Enigma machine and kill them. When all the names from the list are crossed out, another, final mission will become available on the map.The action takes place on Riverside, just below the map of Manhattan – you will find yourself in a creepy bunker where you need to destroy the final goal on the Grace Walker list.

To unlock the last mission on Riverside on the military map, you need to complete each task related to the destruction of the chief commanders and collect all death cards except for one, the last.

After collecting all 15 death cards, the Riverside mission will appear. Fill in the Enigma codes in the car at the military card – you need eight codes to gain access to the mission.Several missing collectibles can also be found here.

The level is unique for several reasons. The action takes place in a massive bunker where you will make your way through the Manhattan subway systems. In the bunker itself, there are no officers, few Nazi soldiers, but a lot of patrol robots.

In addition, the bunker is completely disconnected from the electricity. All you have is a small flashlight illuminating the area ahead. Throughout the level, you will not understand where to move next – the map will lead you to several dead ends.In addition to robots, you will encounter mechanical dogs. The culmination of all this will be a huge room filled with soldiers and two stationary guns.

There is no other similar card in the game. Familiar objects are used that have created a completely unique level – sometimes it feels like some kind of unfinished project. There are practically no decorations in the environment, bodies are scattered around the bunker. At the end of the stage, Blaskowitz will climb the stairs to meet the final Chief Commander. It is guarded by one robot – the same one with which you will encounter at the end of the plot. The last arena of the battle will delight you with a view of the Statue of Liberty.

How to quickly collect Enigma codes

On the military map, select Manhattan, click on the mission (which you COULD have already completed and killed the chief commander) in the penthouse. Or unlock it if you haven’t done so earlier.

Go to Options, Gameplay and select the lowest difficulty. Complete the quest once and in each new launch you will be able to face two officers. This means that you get two Enigma codes per turn.

At minimum difficulty, you don’t have to worry about damage. Go down and kill two officers, collect the Enigma codes, then leave the level through the menu (press J and on the mission screen press R and confirm your wish). Repeat this process.

You can repeat this mission as often as you like. This is the smallest task if you focus on the size of the map – ignore the enemies, you do not need to kill anyone except the captains.

This method is also ideal for maximizing all of your skills. Just lower the difficulty, do what you need to do (knock down enemies with power braces, kill in stealth, etc.), then exit the mission and repeat. You can later increase the difficulty without any penalties.

There is another reason why you will want to complete missions to kill the chief commanders – after them you will find another additional, secret level.

How to get the Enigma codes

Getting the Enigma codes into your own hands is not so easy.Unlike other collectibles, they are not tied to a specific location, you cannot just get to the right place and pick them up from the floor or table. Instead, the codes are in the possession of Nazi commanders, officers who coordinate alarms in specific areas. These are incredibly elusive and dangerous opponents.

Finding the area where the Nazi commander is located is quite simple (as well as getting to him). When you get close to the desired location, an indicator will appear at the top of the screen indicating the direction in which the commander is and the distance to him.If you are stealthy and mostly use a silenced pistol, you can kill the soldiers before they can raise the alarm and call for reinforcements. If they find you, then even more bodyguards of the commander will appear – you will have to destroy them all before killing the officer and taking the Enigma code.

As soon as a Nazi officer is killed, the code can be taken from his corpse. Come and do it. Each commander always drops one code.

How to decipher the Enigma codes

While the Enigma codes can be found literally from the very beginning of the game, you will not be able to decipher them for a long time. This will happen after you return to Eve’s Hammer from a nuclear bunker in Manhattan. You will receive a notification that the Enigma Machine is finally available for use. You can find her in the control room with a large map.

Interact with the chair, which will take the protagonist to the terminal. When you turn on the computer, you will see a list of available chief commanders and a number on the right side of each of them. The number indicates how many Enigma codes you need to decode the information and find the location of the Chief Commander.

When decryption begins, you will see six or seven templates in front of you on top. The first one, on the left, will be highlighted. You will need to use the navigation keys (or left and right analogs) so that the image in the frame in the center of the bottom row corresponds to the selected cell on top. Once this happens, press Enter to confirm your selection. In this case, the bottom line consists of two parts – you have to switch between them in order to match the image.

Once you have found all seven templates, you will receive information about the location of the selected chief commander. If you don’t complete the puzzle in time, you will lose one Enigma code. On the other hand, you can always exit the zoom manually – the Enigma code will not be calculated for this.

How to find the Chief Commanders using the Enigma codes

When you open the Enigma machine, you can get information about the location of each Chief Commander. These high-ranking officers control large enemy forces and important facilities throughout the United States.Killing them would destabilize the Nazi regime.

As soon as you open the location of the chief commander, then go to the military map in the center of this room and begin the mission to destroy it. These side quests will take you to areas that you have already visited the game in the past with minor changes. You will get the chance to collect additional collectibles that you missed when you first entered the area. Also, for killing the chief commander, you receive his death card. Finally, there are various gear that you can only get from these quests!

    Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

However, it seems that Blaskowitz was born in a shirt, the allies, led by the genius of Seth, were even ready to have his head cut off. When control returns to you, you need to choose one of the three proposed equipment options, so to speak: a compression corset, power braces and combat stilts. In all cases, you can familiarize yourself with their features in detail by clicking “inspect” when aiming the sight at them. Now our hero has a new body and new possibilities, depending on your choice.

After the next cutscene, you will be offered to pick up new equipment and immediately test it in operation by testing it at a local training ground. In general, there is nothing particularly difficult here: just listen to what Seth says to do, in our case it was necessary to plant a flimsy wall with the help of power brackets, which is carried out by a banal sprint in its direction. If you choose different equipment, the passage of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus at this stage will be slightly different, you will simply be taught how to use the item of your choice.

It will be shown in all its glory, you will be able to learn all the areas and spheres of its application, so have fun at the training ground, using the received opportunities to the fullest. And the new body will finally return all 100% health instead of the already fed up 50. When you’re done, return to Seth, who is sitting at the table next to the training ground. He will tell you exactly how you managed to get on your feet and advise you to go to Graves right now.

On the way to her, you will meet Ritva, who will tell you that you need to put things in order in the warehouse near the mine, which Graves asked for.Immediately, you will again need to use the new miraculous capabilities of the newly acquired equipment. In our case, it was necessary to smash the boxes that obscured the aisles in the warehouse with the help of accelerations on the power brackets. Now go to Graves, who will just instruct you with regards to the next task in New Orleans, where the passage of Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus will soon continue. In the meantime, watch the video and listen to your colleague’s plan of what she wants to do in the ghetto in the mentioned city.

Also, Graves offers to examine the military map before sending on a mission, go to it and select Manhattan, where the ally wants to make a short stop in front of Orleans.
