7 Things Sonam Kapoor Said About Fawad Khan Which Proves That She’s A Bigger Fan Of Him Than Us!

Pakistani actors have made it quiet big in Bollywood and there are too many examples already. However, the latest one to join the success bandwagon in India is Fawad Khan. His fan following in India is crazy and all thanks to Zindagi channel for bringing Pakistani shows like Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Humsafar! Fawad Khan’s bollywood debut was with Sonam Kapoor and the film did manage to win hearts of the audience and critics alike. The movie didn’t get into the so-called 100-crore club but Fawad and Sonam’s chemistry became a hit.

Since Khoobsurat, Fawad and Sonam have become really close friends and time and again, Sonam Kapoor kept proving it! While Fawad once said in media that “I am emotionally attached to Sonam Kapoor!”, Sonam too has always been open about her soft-corner for this heart throb! Here are 7 instances where Sonam’s confession in media proved that Fawad Khan is really really special to her and she and her sister Rhea totally dotes on him! Here’s a proof!

1.

“What does one say about a man who is a gorgeous and gifted with magnificent acting talent.”

Disney

After watching his Pakistani shows, we would just like to agree with Sonam on that! Fawad is so flawless on the screen that you would not like blink even for a minute! That’s his magic.

2. “Fawad became our dinner table conversation and that’s when Rhea decided to contact him for the film and as they say, rest is history!”

According to Sonam Kapoor, it was her mother’s friends who suggested Fawad Khan for the role of Vikram in Khoobsurat! Yes. They were die-hard fans of his Pakistani TV shows like “Humsafar” and “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” and they thought he could be the perfect one for the film.

3.  “When we were looking at casting for the character Vikram, we needed someone who can look regal effortlessly.”

Disney

No one could have carried off Milli’s Vikku in the film Khoobsurat other than Fawad! He played the role with utmost ease and conviction. Again, we agree with Sonam!

4. “Very few people know that he is a funny guy in real life. People get to see his shy and intense side more often though, which we don’t mind at all.”

Ebuzz Today

We hope he gets roped in for a Bollywood rom-com soon because we have seen him romance on both small and big screen and we won’t mind Fawad trying his comic skills in reel life too!

5. “We loved working with him. He’s all heart and he’s a thorough Punju. He even speaks with a Punjabi accent. We don’t realise how similar Pakistanis are to us.”

Showbiz Lounge

6. “He has a great sense of humour. He is so respectful, warm and kind. If I love someone unconditionally, it’s Fawad. “

Filmfare

Sonam and Fawad have mutual admiration for each other and its so rare in Bollywood! Actors fall in prey of ego clashes but since Khoobsurat, they both were seen praising each other endlessly in media. 🙂

8. “Rhea and I feed him chocolates and

mithai even though he isn’t allowed to eat them.

Santa Banta

Well it seems both the sisters adore and like Fawad Khan! We definitely won’t mind seeing the duo again on the big-screen!

Sonam Kapoor Gets Trolled Mercilessly For Wishing Fawad Khan On His Birthday

Social media is no more a safe place for the level-headed people, we can safely assume. Instagram and Twitter have become a favourite playground for the trolls who are ever ready with their nasty comments on the celebs that they don’t approve of. The recent target for this lot was Sonam Kapoor. Sonam’s crime? She wished her ‘Khoobsurat‘ co-star Fawad Khan on his birthday. Fawad Khan already did three films in Bollywood, first being Khoobsurat followed by Kapoor and Sons and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He naturally got some friends and fans in India who wished him on his birthday and one of them was Sonam. Also Read – Inside Sonam Kapoor’s Intimate London Home: Filled With Art, Jewel-Tone Decor With Distinct Indian Touches

However, the trolls were not at all supportive of her wishes for him. She posted a picture with a caption ‘A very Happy Birthday Fawad! Hope you receive all the joy & happiness on this special day! @_fawadakhan’. This was enough to create an outrage amongst the haters and they poured in mean comments targetting the Veere Di Wedding actress. (ALSO READ: Fawad Khan To Make His Hollywood Debut Soon?) These and more such comments poured in, in no time. While most of them took the birthday wish to a whole new level, some longed to see Sonam and Fawad together again. Some also said they wished to see Fawad back in Bollywood. Well, all we know is Sonam was just wishing her pal on social media and nothing else! Do you think the hatred is justified or is it unfair for them to target the actors? Post your thoughts in the comment section below.

Sonam Kapoor, Fawad Khan’s Khoobsurat clocks 6 years, here’s why the rom com will make you smile even today

Today, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat clocks six years, and to celebrate the film, we decided to round up a series  of reasons that prove why this 2014- film continues to be an adorable romantic comedy, or like the cinephiles say, rom-com. While Khoobsurat was loosely based on the 1980 film of the same name featuring Rekha, the film marked Fawad Khan’s Bollywood debut and also, continues to be one of Sonam Kapoor’s most loved film.

Talking about the Shashanka Ghosh directorial, Khoobsurat revolves around the life of Mili Chakravarti (Sonam Kapoor), and the prince of Sambhalgarh, Yuvraj Vikram Singh Rathore (Fawad Khan) and also stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Kirron Kher, Aamir Raza Hussain, and Aditi Rao Hydari in supporting roles. Although the film witnessed a slow start at the box office, however, due to positive word of mouth, the film did well at the box office.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

After featuring in films such as Saawariya, Delhi 6, I Hate Luv Storys, Aisha, Thank You, Mausam, Players and others, Khoobsurat showed us that besides being a fashion icon, Sonam as Mili Chakravarty, a quirky physiotherapist who falls in love with a young prince, is an actor par excellence as she made us fall in love with Mili and her idiosyncrasies. Earlier, in an interview, Sonam Kapoor had said that no actor wanted to work with her in Khoobsurat because it was a female-centric film and so, they had to rope in Fawad Khan from Pakistan

Fawad Khan

Fawad Khan became an overnight sensation post the release of Khoobsurat. Although a lot of his fans already knew him from Pakistani shows like Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, however, the release of Khoobsurat multiplied the fan following of Fawad. In the film, Fawad played the role of a brooding man, who is too busy carrying out his responsibility, and doesn’t care much about love.

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s chemistry

Little did we know that Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s chemistry would become living room conversations because the sprightly Mili and serious Vikram and their cheat kiss and the sugary sweet romance cannot be missed. Despite their contrasting personalities, their chemistry was something that made this rom-com worth the watch.

Songs

From Engine Ki Seeti, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, Baal Khade, Preet and Naina, all songs of Khoobsurat were a hit and till date, continue to play at parties.

Ratna Pathak Shah

Besides Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, another reason why this comedy drama is a much watch is because of actor Ratna Pathak Shah. Yes, Ratna Pathak Shah as Rani-sa marvels with her disciplinarian act and will transport you back to the Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai nostalgia.

Fawad, Sonam create magic on-screen with yet another fairytale

No shoe? No pumpkin carriage? No fairy godmother?

Nope. Just good old tea and a happily ever after.

Fawad Khan and Sonam Kapoor reunite once again on-screen for a commercial, but this time their fairy tale romance — if you haven’t already guessed — is based on Disney’s Cinderella, without the hassle of losing the shoe.

*Phew*

The moment Fawad had Alia Bhatt blushing

We love the ad so much that we can hardly keep ourselves from watching it on repeat. So let’s break it down, here’s why we’re in raptures after watching the cute duo’s TVC:

1. Fawad looks like a demigod standing atop the stair balcony

Can there ever be a moment when the heartthrob doesn’t look stunning? Blasphemous!

The dapper actor looks exactly like Prince Charming. *Drool*

2. Cute couple alert!

Our hearts did a backflip when the couple reunited on screen. Fawad and Sonam look ethereal together and they’re giving us serious relationship goals.

3. The mini heart attack when they part ways

Just when we thought everything was going perfect. Sigh.

But wait…

4. She stops!

We would too if he ever asked us. #JustSaying

Seems like this fairy tale may not end on a bad note after all.

‘Accident-prone’ Fawad celebrates birthday with Sonam

5. They bond over tea

Because, of course, how else do desis express their love for each other than sipping on some good ol’ tea together.

6. Their dance

He leads her to the dance floor like a true gentleman and they dance the night away, swaying to the music.

7. Happily ever after

We loved how it ended on a happy note and the duo lived “happily ever after.”

8. Make love, not war

Probably the best thing about this ad is that it steered away from the recent tea-sing we became accustomed to seeing. Fawad Khan truly emerged a winner.

*round of applause*

While the ad didn’t follow the Disney fairytale to a T, it took us back to our childhood days when Disney films gave us life goals. We feel a wave of nostalgia coming.

The Fawad Khan, Sadaf Khan love story is what dreams are made of!

Actor Fawad Khan has a tremendous fan following for his on screen performance and physical attributes, in India. The actor, who debuted in Bollywood opposite Sonam Kapoor in 2015 with Khoobsurat, had already created a fan base for himself with his popular TV shows.

His Pakistani TV shows, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Humsafar were aired in India and Fawad Afzal Khan rose to instant fame. The actor is now gearing up for the release of his second Bollywood film, Kapoor & Sons, which also features Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.

If not for his films and TV shows, Fawad is often seen at various Bollywood events. And one thing that remains common in all his appearances at these events is the presence of his wife, Sadaf.

So while you may know a lot about Fawad by now, not much is known about his love story. Fortunately, folks at MissMalini have done that for us. They talked to Fawad about his dreamy love story that started online. Read this:

“I was 17, she was 16. There used to be MIRC at that time, which was Internet Relay Chat. So I ‘met’ her online. I was the one who was never allowed out of the house – I was allowed maybe once in a month, or something like that. Literally, I was like Rapunzel. (laughs) Not really, but ya – going out with friends and all was something that didn’t happen so frequently. So my friends used to tell me, “I know this girl, I know that girl.”

And one of my childhood friends knew of Sadaf and I told him that I’m interested in meeting her. Incidentally enough, the person I was going to meet, that I chatted to – was not Sadaf. Turns out the person I fell for was Sadaf, who was different from the person that I chatted to. At that time, it wasn’t like I was meeting to date or something; I was just going with the harmless intention of meeting and seeing where things go from there. But then I fell for the other girl, and after that, I remember during A-Levels I met her again during tuition. We hadn’t had contact in between for quite some time. And that’s when we got into a relationship.

I remember I proposed to her on the phone after 10 days of getting into a relationship with her. I was like, “I’ve decided that I want to live the rest of my life with you because I think I’m an old-fashioned person and I’m not in for the hanky panky.” Those were my exact words! Very cheesy, but I was like, “I really am. Will you marry me?” And you would not believe what her reply was. “Are you mad?!” So I was like, why, what’s wrong? She said, “I’m 16, what are you thinking right now? Just live it. Just live life for a while.” But for the next three years I kept pestering her, and eventually after 3 or 4 years she finally said yes.”

Indians and Pakistanis are essentially the same: Fawad Khan | Bollywood

‘Ignorance is bliss, in my case’

Fawad Khan is a popular face on Pakistani television. But many Indian TV addicts will swear by his roles in serials like Humsafar (with Mahira Khan) and Zindagi Gulzar Hai. So it’s no surprise that the Pakistani heart-throb, who made his Bollywood debut in Khoobsurat (2014) alongside Sonam Kapoor, commands a huge fan following this side of the border too. He’s back with his next Hindi flick. Excerpts from the interview:

Q. You spoke about your visit to the north of India always being special. What makes them so?

A. The people and the warmth here. I was here with Sonam (Kapoor) to promote Khoobsurat. Chandigarh is so peaceful and I adore the hospitality here. I remember driving down to the border when we were in Amritsar and the landscape is beautiful, on both sides. It feels as though there’s no difference.

Q. Speaking of the stark similarities between the two countries, there has been huge uproar over Indo-Pak security issues, after a T20 match was shifted to Kolkata from its original venue in Dharamsala. As an artist from Pakistan, how has the journey in India been so far?

A. It’s been a lovely experience and I am grateful for having been accepted so well here. You know when you travel all over – be it London, New York, etc, you do feel like an outsider as a Pakistani, but when you come to India, it feels like home. I feel it’s the same for Indians who visit us in Pakistan. There is a sense of familiarity.

Q. What is your taken on the intolerance debate? Recently, the Shiv Sena also said they would not let Pakistanis enter Maharashtra.

A. I wasn’t at the receiving end of these protests, although one tries to ignore such things. As for the intolerance debate and the match that you mentioned, ignorance is bliss in my case. I don’t read much about these things and keep myself away from too much information. I don’t know if that’s good.

Q. Is that why you’re very active (besides Instagram) on social media?

A. It was a particular incident that made me deviate from social media. I remember seeing some images of the Syrian refugee crisis and I was really disturbed. At one moment people do that, the next there are jokes on it. I think I am too sensitive to deal with all of it. I don’t like it when people remain glued to their phones while talking, so I have no apps on mine. We are losing out on the larger things in life. Everything is just a click away.

Q. With so many feathers already in your hat- singer, model, actor, business man- is there any thing else you plan to pursue?

A. I wish to direct someday.

ALIA BHATT

“I’ve been here several times and I love every single thing about this city; the food, the hospitality, the people and, especially, the red-brick buildings. Every time I come here or anywhere in Punjab for that matter, I feel there is an immediate sense of belonging.” (Sanjeev Sharma/HT Photo)

Alia loves to ‘chull’ in Chandigarh

All of 22, Alia Bhatt is on a roll. With a film with Shah Rukh Khan in the wings, the bubbly actor seems like she could be the next big thing to watch out for. Having proved her acting prowess in Highway (2014), Alia is all set for her next release. Excerpts from the interview:

Q. You’ve been a frequent visitor of Chandigarh? Any fond memories in the city?

A. I’ve been here several times and I love every single thing about this city; the food, the hospitality, the people and, especially, the red-brick buildings. Every time I come here or anywhere in Punjab for that matter, I feel there is an immediate sense of belonging. Most of the songs in my films are from Punjab. Badshah, whose music has done wonders for my films, is also from here. So, the reasons to love this place are aplenty.

Q. You even tweeted: ‘Time to chull in Chandigarh…’ and you’re quite active on social media but mostly for promoting your films. Do you deliberately refrain from commenting on other things?

A. Yes. I feel if it doesn’t add to anything or help change anything, then why comment? Not like I don’t have an opinion. I have strong opinions. I watched Kanhaiya’s speech but if you say something, it’s analysed and something else is made of it. Freedom of speech is important but I don’t feel the need to add to the drama by saying something which might not even be taken in the right spirit.

Q. You also spent some time with Diljit Dosanjh during the shoot of Udta Punjab in Amritsar?

A. Oh yes, he’s really sweet. But very subdued and sober. I found that very interesting because his on-screen avatar is quite the opposite. We had a good time shooting for the film.

Q. Since you love Punjab so much and your father has always reiterated the importance of regional cinema to you, will we see Alia in a Punjabi film?

A. Yes, if there is a great script. Why not? My dad keeps telling me to explore all forms. We are all hungry for growth and can’t limit our success or fame to one city. One wants to be known the world over and I feel Punjabi cinema has a great reach in Canada and US.

SIDHARTH MALHOTRA

“After Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), I started getting such offers and I was taken aback that I could be offered a role like I was in Ek Villain (2014) or Brothers (2015) for that matter. So, I am making that effort to break the ‘chocolate boy’ image.” (Sanjeev Sharma/HT Photo)

‘Visited Chandigarh as a child’

Actor Sidharth Malhotra comes across as quiet and reserved. But there’s a lot of talk about his ‘friendship’ with actor Alia Bhatt. With films like Ek Villain (2014) and Brothers (2015) in his kitty, Sidharth wants to break away from his ‘chocolate boy image’. Excerpts from the interview:

Q. Sidharth Malhotra’s name is associated with good looks before good acting. Does that bother you, at times?

A. (Smiles) Well yes, the idea is to move out of that domain and prove yourself. After Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), I started getting such offers and I was taken aback that I could be offered a role like I was in Ek Villain (2014) or Brothers (2015) for that matter. So, I am making that effort to break the ‘chocolate boy’ image and take up more diverse roles.

Q. Your take on intolerance at the backdrop of the recent uproar in JNU since you, too, studied from Delhi.

A. I feel if I am not in a position to control things then why comment or pass judgment? Although, I wish I was. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have a right to an opinion. Freedom of speech is of utmost important and when that’s taken away, it’s sad.

Q. How was it for a Delhi boy to be in the City Beautiful?

A. It’s quite satisfying. I would travel here often with my family as a kid. I still remember my trip to the famous Rose Garden because apparently that was ‘the’ thing in Chandigarh back then. The city has changed a lot.

Clash of the Titans: Sonam Kapoor Ahuja VS Alia Bhatt | Games & Movies

Bollywood is full of talented actors and actresses. Therefore, fans of Indian cinema always have a choice of who to watch and who to love.

This “Clash of the Titans” will bring together two actresses from famous families closely associated with the film industry – Sonam Kapoor (now Ahuja) and Alia Bhatt. The girls are beautiful and certainly talented.

Important clarification number one: as is customary in articles of this format on my channel – you, dear readers, will decide which of these ladies on the Zen platform is more popular. And again, as always, with the help of a survey at the end of the article.
Important clarification number two: due to certain reasons (lack of inspiration is called, and lack of time is a plus) on the channel in October there were not enough articles on “Clash of the Titans”.I didn’t manage to write some of them, but I hope that in November I will have enough strength and inspiration to write about everyone I wanted to represent in The Battle. And that is already the most ashamed.
Important clarification number three: there may be movie spoilers, but this is not certain.

Well, let’s go?
But first, let’s get to know each of our members.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja (Picture from the Internet)

In a large suburb of the multimillion-dollar Mumbai, in Chembur, on June 9, 1985, a charming girl was born.
Her parents left the city bustle in order to give life to their daughter in the most comfortable conditions, where there will be no ubiquitous paparazzi who are ready to shoot different actors 24/7.
They had reasons to run away – because the parents of the born baby were the famous actor Anil Kapoor and his wife Sunita, a former model.

Anil himself also belonged to a family closely related to cinema – brother Sanjay also starred in films, the second Brother Bonnie produced them, and he also had a wife, who is well known to many fans of Indian cinema – Sridevi.

The born baby was named Sonam. Literally two years after her, Rhea was born, and in 1990 – the son of Harshwardkhan.

When it was time to go to school , parents chose one of the best places for their eldest daughter, in their opinion. This is the Arya Vidya Mandir school in the Juhu district, also located in Mumbai.

After receiving her primary education there, Sonam flew to Singapore for 2 years to study at the International College of Southeast Asia. Subsequently, there was also the University of East London, where the eldest of the Kapoors studied political science and economics.
And then she returned home to India.

Children of famous actors, actresses, producers and directors have only three ways – either to become an actor (actress), or to make films, or to choose a profession that has nothing to do with the industry. Sonam, despite her desire to act in films, decided to learn the filming process from the inside. Therefore, she became an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself.

He was a tough, demanding person, with his own vision of how to make films. In addition to Sonam, Ranbir Kapoor also worked for him, who noted how harshly and often harshly he was treated. Sonam herself did not say that, but I suppose she also faced the master’s exactingness. They all worked together on the Last Hope project, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee.

In any case, it was his assistants who suffered from his professional dictatorship that Bhansali invited to the film “Beloved”, based on Dostoevsky’s novel “White Nights”.

The film “Beloved” was released in 2007. However, unfortunately, the film did not recapture its budget, but it was received very warmly abroad. The debut work was also highly acclaimed, with Sonam receiving a number of nominations and winning the Stardust Awards in the Star of Tomorrow category.

However, for some time Sonam postponed filming, because her next picture was released only in 2009, and it was “Delhi-6”.

She worked in tandem with Abhishek Bachchan. Unfortunately, this picture also failed at the box office, but it was highly appreciated by critics. Delhi-6 was brought to film festivals in Venice and Dubai. For her role, Sonam received an Asian Films Awards nomination for Best Newcomer of the Year.

Again, after taking a break for about a year, Sonam starred in the film “Aisha” in 2010.She got the role of an energetic and active girl named Aisha, who sleeps and sees herself as the savior of the hearts of her friends – in other words, she is trying to arrange their personal lives, to bring them with the necessary partners. Naturally, her friend Arjun criticizes her for this, advising her not to get into other people’s lives.

Aisha was a film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Emma, whose protagonist suffered from a similar problem. Unlike the previous two films, this film received an average box-office income, but was largely praised by critics. However, for some reason she received a kind of award from the Golden Kela Awards for the worst female role.

In the same 2010 she starred with Imran Khan in the film “I Hate Love Stories” by Punit Malhotra. Imran played Jai, a cynical character who did not believe in love stories and other affections. Simran – she was played by Sonam – was his complete opposite, that is, a romantic girl who believes in love at first sight. And guess where fate pushed them? On the set of a film about love! So they will prove to each other their points of view until they understand the true state of affairs.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “I Hate Love Stories” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “I Hate Love Stories” (Picture from the Internet)

This film was the first in Sonam’s small (at that time) filmography, which received a box office success. “I hate love stories” has been recognized both in his native India and abroad.Sonam received praise for her performance, which definitely could not but please her.

In 2011, Sonam released only two films – “The Seasons” and “Thank You”.

“Thank You” was released earlier, in April 2011. A truly stellar cast – Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Bobby Deol, Irfan Khan. The film had an average budget, which we managed to recapture, so in theory “Thank You” can be called commercially successful. However, it was defeated by critics who did not like the plot of the film at all.The trinity of avid friends and companions are married, quite happily. However, they walk away from their spouses, and one of them hires a private detective to find out what the hubby is hiding there. This most private detective is known for guiding husbands on the right path, because he himself has a reason to do so.

The second film is “The Seasons” with Shahid Kapoor from director Pankaj Kapoor, who is then an actor and Shahid’s own father. Pankaj played on the audience’s love for wonderful love stories, especially those where lovers are separated for many years. The Punjabi boy Harry is in love with the Kashmiri girl Ayat, but fate pushes them apart, pushing them together only a few years later, and that is because Harry is trying to find his beloved.

However, despite the beautiful story transformed into a plot, the audience the film was not appreciated – it flopped at the box office. Here is such a paradox – the first picture was not appreciated by the critics, but it made a good profit at the box office, and the second was not appreciated by the audience and this led to a failure, but the critics liked it! However, for Sonam it was still not bad – she showed how her acting talent develops. Roles tried to choose interesting, memorable.

In 2012, she reunited on the same screen with two of her partners in previous films – Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol in the movie “The Players”. In addition to them, Bipasha Basu and Neil Nitin Mukesh, as well as Vinod Khanna, also played there.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “The Gamblers” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “The Gamblers” (Picture from the Internet)

Whoever watched the movie “Robbery in Italian” will definitely draw the necessary parallels and understand – “Players “became an Indian remake of a good movie with Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron and Jason Statham.
Here in our center there is a team of typists with certain abilities to carry out various scams and crimes. There is a seductress, a hacker, and a talented racer. In general, just a dream team.

However, both viewers and critics expressed their “phi”, because “Players” failed at the box office.
And one more interesting fact – some of the filming was carried out in Russia, so someone might recognize their native places.

In 2013, she co-stars with Tamil actor Dhanush in the film “Crazy in Love”.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Love Mad” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Lover in Love” (Picture from the Internet)

The love story between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl is not new in Bollywood, take it though would be a wonderful painting “Vir and Zara”.However, this one is still relatively different. The character Dhanush really appeared on the screen as madly in love, ready for the sake of his beautiful lady of the heart to commit various crazy deeds. Cut on the wrist in public to prove your love? Please! Steal her and take her away? No problem.

The music for the film was written by the master of his craft A.R. Rahman, and the team itself did an excellent job. It is no wonder that the film was successful at the box office. The audience appreciated this love story. Performance in this film earned Sonam a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress.

Sonam’s second film in 2013 was a biopic about Indian runner Milk Singh from director Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra. The role of Milka was played by Farhan Akhtar, his love interest is our marvelous Sonam.

Sonam Kapoor in the film “Run Milka Run” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Run Milka Run” (Picture from the Internet)

Interesting story, more or less reliable biography of the famous Indian athlete, full dedication of the whole team – it’s no surprise that the biopic was the best film of 2013 according to Filmfare. However, Sonam spoke quite interestingly about her work. Having played Milka’s wife, Nimrat Kaur, she called her heroine just an accessory, an ornament added only for a beautiful picture, because “Run, Milka, Run” was entirely Farhan’s film, his finest hour. The fact that Sonam would receive praise for her acting seemed strange to her – well, how is it, this is Farhan’s work, not hers.
Oh, disingenuous, Sonam-ji, being disingenuous – you were nice here and very, very gentle in your traditional outfits.

In 2014, two pictures were released with her participation. The first was the comedy “Nonsense”, which again centered on a love story between the typical middle class in a market economy.

Sonam Kapoor in “Nonsense” (Image from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in “Nonsense” (Image from the Internet)

Unfortunately, the film crew did not show an interesting enough story that did not attract viewers and critics. Sonam’s character was something… fake, a little spoiled. In many ways, it was the lack of an interesting story and charismatic characters that led to a commercial failure at the box office.

The second picture was “Pretty Woman” – a remake of the 1980 film of the same name with Rekha.

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan in the movie “Pretty Woman” (Image from the Internet)

Mila Chakravorty is a girl with medical education. To be more precise, it is generally a physiotherapist. They call her to the royal palace, because the king is sick and needs to be treated. Mila arrives and begins to do her direct work. But she is an emancipated lady, who does not tolerate being told, therefore, she brings natural chaos to the royal society with their strict rules and foundations.

Unfortunately, critics did not really appreciate it, but the audience helped – “Pretty Woman” was quite stable and became a hit. Let not one hundred percent, but already something. Sonam was sweet and charming here, with very bright and unusual outfits.

In 2015, she co-starred with Salman Khan himself in The Elusive Prem.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “The Elusive Prem” (Image from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “The Elusive Prem” (Image from the Internet)

which Sonam, by the way, looks awesome. The directors were inspired by the South Korean film “Masquerade”.
The plot revolves around two doppelgangers. One of them is the crown prince, cruel and gloomy. His double, who replaced the heir to the throne after the assassination attempt (so that he could rest), turns out to be much kinder and sweeter, because he charms the girl who is engaged to a harmful prince.

In general, Salman played two roles here, but personally my heart was completely occupied by Sonam – she is very beautiful here, just an unearthly fairy. Well, no wonder that “Elusive Prem” became commercially successful and the second in terms of collection in 2015.

In the same 2015 she starred in the film “Palanquin Dolly”.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Palanquin Dolly” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Palanquin Dolly” (Picture from the Internet)

This picture belongs to the director’s company of Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salman Khan; it also starred Malaika Arora Khan, at that time still the wife of Arbaaz, Rajkumar Rao, Pulkit Samrat and a number of other actors.
One guy marries Dolly – a beautiful and sweet girl. However, the very next morning after the wedding, she is no longer in the city.Because Dolly is a wedding swindler. Having accomplices, she charms rich guys and subsequently rips them off literally to the skin, then looking for a new victim. But Dolly’s comrades do not take into account how many deceived husbands can unite in an attempt to find and punish the impudent devil.

This very Dolly was played by our Sonam. A cheerful, perky and cynical person who has the ability to all sorts of scams and seduce rich guys.

Despite an average box office success, Sonam received praise and even a nomination from Filmfare for her performance.

2016 for Sonam was marked by collaboration with famous musicians – Coldplay and Beyoncé herself. Working together, Coldplay and Beyoncé created the music video “Hymn for the weekend”. Upon learning that Sonam would star in it, many Indians enthusiastically awaited the release of the video. However, when it came out …
Let’s just say, “expectations vs reality” in this case did not come true. Sonam appeared in literally 5 seconds, and the rest of the time the video sequence concentrated on Beyonc and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The Indian public did not appreciate it.

Sonam Kapoor in Coldplay feat Beyonce’s video “Hymn for the Weekend”

Sonam Kapoor in Coldplay feat Beyonce’s video “Hymn for the Weekend” It was not the minimum of Sonam’s screen time, but the fact that he turned out to be somehow too gloomy and boring. Moreover, some Indians accuse Beyoncé of cultural appropriation (appropriation of foreign national characteristics). It is everyone’s business to agree or not. But I personally always missed this video if it was on music channels.

In the same 2016, Sonam is invited to the main role in a biopic – again. But now the whole plot revolves around her heroine. The film was named “Nirja”, and it tells about a real girl, an Indian airline stewardess, who sacrificed herself for the passengers of the plane she was working on when the terrorists were on board.

Sonam Kapoor in the film “Neerja” (Image from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Neerja” (Image from the Internet)

To adequately play a brave girl, Sonam met Nirja’s mother personally, talked with those people who knew Nirju. She formed the image of her heroine based on stories about her.

Such a beauty was the real Nirja Bhanot (Picture from the Internet)

Such a beauty was the real Nirja Bhanot (Picture from the Internet)

Thorough elaboration of images, too real and painful scenario, and the work itself Sonam in the role of Nirja – me was not at all surprised that “Neerja” received, firstly, a commercial success at the box office, and secondly, Kapoor herself received an award from Filmfare for Best Actress in the opinion of critics.Quite deservedly, as for me.

When I watched this film, it impressed me so much that I even cried into tears. Not only did I study the internet for information about this incident before the release of Nirji, but the film turned out to be great too! In general, I advise you to watch it.
By the way, another interesting fact is that Shabana Azmi herself starred in the role of Nirji’s mother.

In 2017, Sonam did not have a single film released, but in 2018 she entered with as many as three. The first was the comedy “The Wedding of the Best Friend”.

Sonam Kapoor, Muskan Kubchandarni, Swara Bhaskar and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film “Best Friend’s Wedding” (Image from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor, Muskan Kubchandarni, Swara Bhaskar and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film “Best Friend’s Wedding” (Image from the Internet) Internet)

In this film, Sonam worked with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Four girlfriends who share laughter and tears with each other. When one of them, Kalindi, is called to marry, she simply runs away.Girlfriends try to reason with her, explain that the groom is not such a bad person as she imagined him, and Kalindi’s attitude to marriage is based on cynicism and distrust of the whole world. Kalindi, on the other hand, tells them to their faces about the shortcomings that she knows in her friends, but still, it is insulting, and the friendship almost collapses. However, the girlfriends still have to sit down at the negotiating table and solve the problems that have accumulated in themselves, not only in Kalindi herself. The question is, will this long-standing friendship remain as strong as it once was?

Yes, here Sonam does not play the main role, but her heroine, Avni, she played with dignity.Young, cheerful, bright – she didn’t look ridiculous against the backdrop of the ever-perfect and fashionably dressed Kareena Kapoor Khan – and also this infectious smile of hers.
As for the film itself, it made a good box office. Critics rated him mixed – someone praised, someone criticized. Even, as far as I know, they planned to shoot a sequel, but due to the coronavirus, filming was postponed. And now they will also postpone, because the performer of one of the main roles (by the name of Kapoor Khan) is in position.

In the same 2018, she plays an important role in the biopic film “Sanju”, about Sanjay Dutt, her colleague in the shop. The biography of this complex, but charismatic man has long attracted fans of Indian cinema, and when he was released from prison, directors began to fight for the right to transfer his life story to cinema. The winner was Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay’s longtime friend. It was he who carefully selected the performers of all the roles in the film. In particular, Sanjaya was played by Ranbir Kapoor, already familiar to us colleague Sonam in the movie “Beloved”.Nargis Dutt, the legendary muse of Raj Kapoor, is played by Manisha Koirala. And our smiling Sonam played a girl named Ruby.

Sonam Kapoor and the back of the head of Ranbir Kapoor in the movie “Sanju” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor and the back of the head of Ranbir Kapoor in the movie “Sanju” (Picture from the open spaces of the Internet)

Rajkumar Hirani, in order to avoid possible problems with the real prototypes of his characters biopic about Sanjay, tried not to name the real participants in the story. In particular, Ruby is not a specific actress, but a collective image of several women in Sanjay’s life.
By the way, someone assumed that Ruby was Tina Munim, but the director denied these rumors. The heroine Sonam is overly emotional, hysterical, and even somehow repulsed me while watching. And this proves that Sonam did a great job in making me feel emotional. Even negative ones.

As I have already said many times in similar articles on both Ranbiru and Manisha – “Sanju” at the box office became the highest-grossing film of the year, the critics praised the performance of almost all actors quite highly. It was a 100% success, and I don’t think Sonam ever regretted being in Sanju.

Well, the third picture of 2018 is the film “Padman” with Akshay Kumar.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Padman” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Padman” (Picture from the Internet)

Once upon a time there was an ordinary Tamil social worker, his name was Arunachalam Muruganantam (while writing, he almost broke his tongue) . .. And he was interested in one female intimate problem, which he began to solve.
Namely – developed vending machines for cheap sanitary napkins in remote areas of India. Patents, the development of the hygiene products themselves – all this fell on his shoulders. On the shoulders of a man who is concerned with the problems of women.

So, the film was based on the real story of this social worker, just for the convenience of reading and naming the names, they called the hero Lakshmikant “Lakshmi” Chauhan. It was played, which is understandable, by Akshay Kumar.
He, like his prototype, dealt with the problems of feminine hygiene in the film, but with great enthusiasm.Sonam played a modern, educated girl, her name was Pari Valia, and she helped Lakshmikant in his struggle not only for the opportunity for women to get hygiene products for a minimum of money, but also against the prejudices of the villagers. And yes, there are romantic feelings between the characters played by Akshay and Sonam.

The film raised a very acute social topic, so they paid close attention to it. There was no commercial failure, fortunately, the budget was repulsed completely – in principle, we can say that “Padman” at the box office was moderately successful.Critics also praised him, largely because of social issues. He even won the 66th National Film Awards for Best Social Film.

In 2019, Sonam starred in the same film with her father. “It was the film” What I Felt When I Saw This Girl. “Rajkumar Rao and Juhi Chawla also played there. this girl “(Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the film” What I Felt When I Met This Girl “(Picture from the Internet)

Sonam plays here the daughter of her real father, who should get married according to tradition, but this is not wants. She would have to do something else, more useful to her.
Also in this movie, Sonam plays a lesbian. Yes, you heard right. Her heroine is in love with a girl, they are even in a relationship, but it is difficult for a strict father and brother and a fairly homophobic society to come out (admit their sexual orientation). Rajkumar’s hero Rao, a talented screenwriter, helps her with a play created specifically for this purpose.

Is it bold in modern India? Oh yes, very brave. Sonam did a great job.She was helped by the fact that she is a talented actress, and the presence of her father, in front of whom one cannot lose face.
This tolerant topic naturally touched the feelings of LGBTQ people, so reviews from critics were mostly positive. The box office was also, in principle, not bad.

And another picture was released in 2019 – “The Zoe Factor”.

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “The Zoe Factor” (Picture from the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor in the movie “Zoe Factor” (Picture from the Internet)

It was about a girl named Zoe Solanki, a kind of “mascot” of the cricket team, which brings good luck at the 2011 International Cricket Championship.Remarkable and her love line with the captain of the same team, who until the last does not believe in her talismancy and in all sorts of superstitions.

Despite mixed reviews from critics, Zoe Factor paid off at the box office.

At the moment, Sonam has a number of projects that are still frozen due to the pandemic, but she does not plan to end her acting career. And I personally wish her many more interesting projects, because she can pull them out.

And now, so to speak, let’s “ride” the appearance of our beautiful lady.

Sonam Kapoor (Image from the vastness of the Internet)

Sonam Kapoor (Image from the vastness of the Internet)

Before she appeared in the film industry as an actress, Sonam worked thoroughly on her appearance. In particular, she lost about 30 kg in just a year to look slim and fit.
Joining Bollywood, Sonam did more than act in films. She also became interested in fashion. Therefore, her every appearance on the red carpet, to journalists, even in the films themselves, is an aesthetic delight for the eyes. She carefully selects outfits for any event. With a height of 1.75 cm, almost any outfit looks great on her.

Sonam is insanely good at everything she wears. Both European-style outfits and traditional Indian outfits – everything suits her. And she also carefully works out the makeup and hair. It is no wonder that Sonam in Bollywood has long secured the nickname of a fashionable icon. She is also the face of the cosmetics company L’Oreal, along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She went to the Cannes Film Festival several times.

It was the turn of her personal life. What’s interesting is that Sonam didn’t talk about her from the word “at all.” Rumors connected her with her colleague on “Beloved” Ranbir Kapoor, and the director of the film “I Hate Love Stories” Punit Malhotra, but Sonam promptly denied these rumors.
Therefore, it was a shock for many when our charming smile Sonam married Anand Ahuja, an Indian businessman on May 8, 2018. From that day on, she began to add her husband’s surname to her maiden (if I may say so) surname and, therefore, now we only know Sonam Kapoor Ahuja.

So far, the couple have no children, but I think they may well appear.Sonam lives happily, and she and her husband celebrated their anniversary in May.

Let’s summarize:

  • Sonam is a talented actress. She, of course, cannot be compared with her father Anil, but this is understandable, because they have different roles and roles too. And even though her entry into Bollywood can be associated with nepotism, she has long proven herself to be an independent creative entity.
  • For me, Sonam is one of the most beautiful Indian actresses. She actually has a superb sense of style, and I often admire her outfit choices. She is insanely good in any outfit.
  • Also, Sonam is quite an interesting person. She is not one of those media personalities who, at every inconvenient occasion, hides her head in the sand – Sonam answers. She is sharp on the tongue, knows her own worth and behaves quite adequately. I can say that she appeals to me as a person.

Now it is the turn of the second participant.

Alia Bhatt (Picture from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt (Picture from the Internet)

On March 15, 1993, a girl was born in one of the Mumbai maternity hospitals. They called her Alia. The baby’s parents were the famous director Mahesh Bhatt and his wife Sonya Hrazdan, who was once an actress.

Sonya Hrazdan and Mahesh Bhatt (Image from the Internet)

Sonya Hrazdan and Mahesh Bhatt (Image from the Internet)

Mahesh was – and still is – an eccentric person. He loved to provoke the public with his films, explicit scenes in him. And he did not always hide his personal life. Many recollect him a whirlwind romance with Parvin Babi, reflected in the 1982 film Awareness, starring Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil in the lead female roles.
Because our Mr. Bhatt has many children. When Alia was born, he already had half-sister Puja and brother Rahul. Yes, yes, the same Pooja who is Bhatt and who is an actress. And with Sonya Hrazdan Mahesh also already had an older child – a girl named Shahin. In general, Aliya’s family is big.

Since childhood, Aliya has been spinning in the world of cinema, and she has not seen any other way but to become an actress.

Aliya played her first role as a child in the 1999 film “Crime Novel”, where Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta played the main roles. And no, it wasn’t Mahesh’s film – it was directed by Tanuja Chandra.

Little Aliya in the film “Crime Novel” – here she is only 6 years old (Picture from the Internet)

But the full main role of Aliya managed to play with Karan Johar himself, in the 2012 film “Student of the Year”. Johar gave a ticket to Bollywood not only for her, but also for partners on the site – Varun Dhavan and Siddhart Malhotra.

Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra in the film “Student of the Year” (Image from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt and Siddhart Malhotra in the film “Student of the Year” (Image from the Internet)

Love triangle, competitive spirit, bright colors and fiery dances – Karan Johar knows how to put all this in such a wrapper that the film instantly becomes commercially successful. Naturally, the picture became a hit, and the leading actors became wildly popular.

In 2013 she released only one film – “Ugly” by Anurag Kashyap. Her role there was insignificant, she played one of the heroines, the housewife Shalini (whose daughter was kidnapped because of the girl’s father and her ex-husband), but only in her youth. An interesting fact – the age of Shalini was played by Tejasvini Kolhapur, the sister of Padmini Kolhapur.

Unfortunately, I could not find high-quality photos of Aliya in this film, so just know that she was filmed there. This picture became a commercial success at the box office, it was appreciated by critics.

In 2014, Imtiaz Ali invites Aliya to play the lead role in the movie “Highway”.She works in tandem with Randip Hood.

Alia Bhatt in the movie “Highway” (Picture from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt in the movie “Highway” (Picture from the Internet)

A girl named Vira is tired of preparing for her own wedding – therefore she leaves the primordial female society, mired in chat about clothes and jewelry, and goes for a short walk.
A little, ha! Finding herself in the wrong place and at the wrong time, Vira becomes a prisoner of a certain Mahabir, outwardly severe, but rather weak-willed inwardly person.
And to Mahabir, Vira begins to manifest the Stockholm syndrome – when a victim feels rather warm feelings for his tormentor (by the way, such relationships include not only love, but also pity, empathy for his tormentor). Vira, in the person of Mahabir, gets a chance to start life anew, and for him a young prisoner, as it were, becomes a guide in the dark kingdom of lies and hatred.

Unfortunately, a picture with such an interesting theme, the so-called road movie (from the English words “road” – “road” and “movie” – “film”, which in general translation gives us a “road movie”), at the box office failed. But both Alia and Randeep almost completely revealed their characters, showed the development of their personalities under the influence of various circumstances. However, critics still appreciated the film, and it was the acting, including what Aliya showed on the screen.

Literally a few months after the release of “Highway”, the movie “2 States” with Aliya and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles is released – this is still 2014.

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in the movie “2 States” (Picture from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor in the movie “2 States” (Picture from the Internet)

In the center we have a couple – a boy and a girl, both students …They belong to two different cultures: a guy from Delhi, a girl from Chennai (Tamil Nadu). So they are going to get married – but only if the parents give their consent. You understand that there will be resistance from the older generation.

Aliya approached the filming with all seriousness – in a very short time she learned Tamil in order to authentically play a Tamil girl. She also demonstrated a good game, showing on the screen not an empty cardboard doll, but a full-fledged and lively character.Arjun did not lag behind. Therefore, the film succeeded at the box office – whatever you say, but Indians and fans of Indian cinema love to watch romantic stories, especially on the topic of a modern interpretation of the story of Romeo and Juliet.

And the last film of 2014 was the film “Bride of Humpty Sharma”, in which Aliya was reunited with her colleague in the debut film – Varun Dhavan.

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhavan in The Bride of Humpty Sharma (Image from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhavan in The Bride of Humpty Sharma (Image from the Internet)

Kavya Pratap Singh is beautiful, young and just about will get married. She lives in a small town and one day, in preparation for the wedding, Kavya comes to Delhi to buy something. Fate confronts her with a guy named Humpty Sharma – young, active, who does not stop before the goal, but achieves what he wants.
Our Kavya acts as such “desirable”. Yes, yes, Humpty was determined to conquer her and make her his wife. Because love and everything in the same spirit.

The film was released under the auspices of Karan Dzhokhar’s company, by the way, and the creators themselves called it a tribute to “The Untrained Bride”, the plot of the new film was very reminiscent of the legendary Bollywood picture.

And we remember that love stories are quoted very highly, and even a kind of bow towards the beloved “Unspoiled Bride”. That is why “Bride of Humpty Sharma” did not fail at the box office either, but became a hit. Aliya showed three completely different characters in her three 2014 films, with different personality types – all that united them was just the face of the actress who played them. And that’s all. In general, Aliya did not follow the path of “being a beautiful addition to the main character”, but began to carefully select roles.

In 2015 she starred with Shahid Kapoor in the film The Magnificent.

Shahid Kapoor and Aliya Bhatt in the movie “The Magnificent” (Picture from the Internet)

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the movie “The Magnificent” (Picture from the Internet)

And again everything revolves around the theme of the wedding. Only here is not about the abduction or conquest of a rebellious bride, but about the number of skeletons in the closet of those who arrange this magnificent celebration.
Alia plays the adopted daughter of one of the maturing families.Despite the fact that the adoptive dad loves her, the adoptive mother is in charge of everything in the family and Alia (this is the name of the heroine) does not like. How the heroes will get out of the many stalemate situations is still unknown.

Shahid played here a hero who suffers from insomnia. Alia was gentle and innocent, and again, her namesake heroine was strikingly different from the previous ladies played by Miss Bhatt. There were some similarities, but, say, Aliya from The Magnificent was different from Veera from The Highway and from the first college beauty Shania from Student of the Year.

But, unfortunately, the picture failed at the box office. Many critics noted the stereotyped and cardboard character of the characters, smashed Shahid’s play, did not appreciate the chemistry between Kapoor and Aliya – by the way, it was really difficult to notice, at that time it was an absolutely non-chemical pair of actors.

In 2016, Aliya starred in the film Flying Punjab with Shahid Kapoor (again), Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.

Alia Bhatt in the film “Flying Punjab” (Picture from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt in the film “Flying Punjab” (Picture from the Internet)

The theme in the film, which somehow belongs to the genre of black comedy with elements of crime, is touched upon rather painful and relevant – these are drugs.Specifically, the film touched on the consumption of this poison by young people living in the state of Punjab. And how from Pakistan to the regions of India this filth gets – including carried by representatives of the type of culture in the person of Gabru, a successful Punjabi musician. He himself uses these drugs, so he does not see anything shameful in distributing them – the money is not superfluous.
Bauria is a migrant girl working for a single homeowner. Life confronts her with drugs too, breaking her dreams of getting into the national hockey team.
There is a doctor and activist, Prit Singh, and there is a police officer, Sartaj Singh, whose younger brother is transporting drugs and then ends up in a clinic in Prit.
Fate pushes all four together, showing them life from different angles.

The issues raised in the picture initially infuriated the public and they considered their depiction vulgar. The filmmakers demanded to make a number of changes, but soon the decision was canceled and “Flying Punjab” was released almost in the form in which they wanted to see it.
And he also collected a very good box office, was highly praised by critics. Those people who did not see the chemistry between Aliya and Shahid finally saw her and fell in love with this couple. The Filmfare Awards awarded the film as many as 4 awards, one of which went to Alia for Best Actress.
I personally believe that such topics should be touched upon in the cinema, and shown as authentically as possible, with all the unsightly consequences, horrors and human suffering.

In the same 2016 she works with the second colleague on the debut film – Siddhart Malhotra – in the film “Kapoor and Sons”.In addition to them, Fawad Khan and Rishi Kapoor also starred there.

Siblings Arjun and Rahul return to their parents’ house, because their 90-year-old grandfather asks them to. The old man is going to spend his last days with his beloved grandchildren, but there won’t be a calm and even a little sad atmosphere here – the brothers always find themselves in funny situations and do not understand what is going on around at all.And then they fall in love with one girl … There is a spirit of rivalry, and almost hatred for each other.

That seems to be a funny description, and a typical love triangle in front of us. But no – the questions raised in the picture are much deeper. It is, first of all, about the fact that you cannot get attached to those labels and roles that have been assigned to you since childhood. That you need to be able to listen and hear each other, without trying to break a person and convince them that they are right.
And people saw this philosophical background, and the actors in the lead roles coped with dignity – because “Kapoor and Sons” succeeded at the box office, won 5 awards – of which Aliya won nothing, but I think that success can be attributed to her. film.

All in the same 2016 she is filming with the Bollywood legend – Shah Rukh Khan. Their joint work is the film “Dear Zindagi”.

Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in the film “Dear Zindagi” (Picture from the Internet)

Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in the film “Dear Zindagi” (Picture from the Internet)

We have a story about a talented girl operator (who dreams of shooting her own movie), who encountered Dr. Jahangir “Jag” Khan, who uses unconventional methods for treatment. This Jahangir is treating mental illnesses, and it is on these issues that Kaira (this is the name of our girl) turns to him as a specialist.
But working communication fades into the background, because Jahangir sees in Kayra what she hides in herself, and begins to heal her, in some way. He literally re-opens the girl her personality and takes her out into the open world, teaching her not to be afraid to take responsibility for her life, her feelings and relationships. He turned out to be the one who gave her a helping hand in time.

By the way, I watched this film with doubts, because the recent projects of Shah Rukh strained me. However, doubts were dispelled, I really liked “Dear Zindagi”. This is a film about how important it is to listen to and hear yourself, how important it is to be yourself. A little, perhaps, strained by the fact that Kaira at the end admits that she likes Jag – because, in my opinion, there is no place for a romantic line in such a plot. But I liked how the scriptwriters and the director played this situation. So I definitely recommend watching the movie.

And yes, I was not the only one who appreciated it. He collected a good box office, critics praised him – not only Shah Rukh’s play, but Aliya’s as well. Filmfare has nominated Dear Zindagi in a number of nominations, but unfortunately it won nothing.

In 2017, Aliya reunites with Varun Dhavan again – already in the film “Bride of Badrinath”.

Alia Bhatt in the film “Bride of Badrinath” (Image from the Internet)

“Shaw, again?” – you will be indignant with the voice of a wolf from a Soviet cartoon. And I am with you too, because again someone’s bride, again with Varun. But here the story is a little different.
We have a boy named Badrinath. His father is a big village businessman, and our boy is looking for a bride for himself, a good, mostly silent, kind of keeper of the hearth. He collides with Vaidehi, falls in love and even calls for marriage. But only she is obstinate, mischievous girl, and refused him.
And Badrinath still wants to conquer it.

Unlike “Bride of Humpty Sharma”, Alia’s heroine is already harmful, as for me.She belongs to that stratum of young people who deny marriage, family and see themselves in loneliness and tranquility. Varun’s Badrinath is similar to Humpti Sharma, but here he promotes more family traditional values, originally from the village. Although yes, I liked Alia’s game more, while Varun again showed a similar character from an almost similar film.

However, the audience and “Bride of Badrinath” were also appreciated, she brought the creators a good profit. We begin to understand that the audience loves a couple of Aliya and Varun.

But this was the only film of 2017 – in 2018 she starred in the film “Conspiracy”, and this is no longer a romantic melodrama, not a comedy. And not even a road movie – this is essentially more of a thriller.

Alia Bhatt in the film “Conspiracy” (Image from the Internet)

At the request of her father, Sehmat girl becomes the wife of a Pakistani military, moving, respectively, to Pakistan. But this marriage is not just concluded – she becomes a spy, passing on the secret information of Pakistanis to her native India. The story of an ordinary girl who, by the will of fate, has become the very thread that protects her homeland from all sorts of provocations and dangers, a source of necessary information, who is forced to live with an eternal mask on her face, hide her true essence, destroy those who can reveal it. She loses love, she loses herself, does not know who she is and what she wants – after all, in the place of a spy, the most ordinary woman.

Here, undoubtedly, Aliya played beyond praise. Another unusual and unique character in the piggy bank of her heroines – who was cheerful, perky, energetic, who was naive and sweet, who was cynical and impudent. And Sekhmat was real, alive and suffering. I really liked the movie.

And he liked not only me, but also critics and spectators. Aliya received the Best Actress award from Filmfare. Well deserved.

In 2019, she stars with Ranveer Singh in Ghetto Boy, a slum-themed rap in Mumbai.

I already wrote about this film in an article about Ranveer Singh (and Ranbir Kapoor) , so I will limit myself to general facts – it did not fail at the box office, but became the 7th highest grossing film of 2019, received a number of Filmfare nominations, won 13, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Ranveer Singh) and the best female role, which our Aliya received. This is the third such award in her career.

In the same 2019, she again works with Varun Dhavan in the film “Vice”, but together with them another legendary couple, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit, also works.

Historical drama shown in the period before independence (the action takes place in 1945, and independence was obtained in 1947).
Unfortunately, an interesting love story, affecting several generations, was not appreciated by the public, and the film failed at the box office. And not all critics gave him a positive assessment. An attempt to play as many as two popular couples (Alia-Varun and Sanjay-Madhuri) did not play to success.

Also in 2019 she appeared as a special guest in the sequel to “Student of the Year” (in its second part), where other heroes were already central.

Alia has more films planned in the future, some of them should come out in 2020, some in 2021 – it is not known whether they will come out if the pandemic is still very much interfered with. But Aliya is not going to stop. Even despite the persecution of her star origin, deployed by Miss Kangana Ranaut against many of her acting (directing) sons and daughters.

Alia Bhatt (Image from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt (Image from the Internet)

Just like Sonam Kapoor, Alia faced the problem of being overweight. Since her dad is big, – Mahesh was never distinguished by thinness and fit, – she was plump for some time. Cope with diet and properly constructed exercises, including yoga.

Tall Aliya is short – only 1.60 cm, as far as I know, this is the average height among Indian actresses in general. Few of them even reach 1.80.

Aliya is also fond of fashion, works on her looks on the carpet. In ordinary life, she is a fan of T-shirts and jeans. Both national clothes and European-style clothes are suitable for her, with the exception of those that visually shorten her height.

Let’s move on to Aliya’s personal life. As was the custom in Bollywood, news outlets and just passing people shoved her into romances with many colleagues on the set – Varun Dhavan, Siddhart Malhotra and others., – yes, they even wooed the directors. Naturally, this was hardly true.

In my opinion, her first officially announced relationship was an affair with Ranbir Kapoor, the offspring of the famous Kapoor clan, which has been going on since 2017. It was from this period that the couple attends various events together.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor (Picture from the Internet)

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor (Picture from the Internet)

They also say that the couple is engaged and, quite possibly, someday they will tie the knot.Again, until I see a photo from the wedding, I will not believe it.

As for me, Aliya showed her feelings and her support in April 2020, when she was personally present at the funeral of Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir’s father, and also made a video call for someone from Rishi’s family, so that at least so to attend the farewell to the great actor.

Aliya at the funeral of Rishi Kapoor – it seems like Nita Singh Kapoor, the wife of the late actor, is standing next to her, in black , the wife of the deceased actor (Picture from the Internet)

In general, if they get married and are happy – this is very good, in any case I will be happy for both Aliya and Ranbir.

Let’s summarize:

  • Aliya Bhatt is a talented actress. Despite everything – neither her origin, nor her father’s connection with the world of cinema, nor the criticism of Kangana Ranaut. As for me, she is much more experienced and sincere in playing than even her half-sister Pooja Bhatt played at one time. The selection of roles makes me happy, because these are all unusual images, and rarely when they are completely alike
  • Aliya is also a beautiful girl. Maybe her type does not seem to me personally stunningly beautiful, but she is cute and charming, I just want to cuddle her.She suits both European and Indian style clothes.
  • As for her personal life, it’s good that Aliya doesn’t advertise it too much. Because personal life is precisely what is the personal matter of everyone, even a media personality. She does not have to spread about her, and no one should go there. I personally wish her only happiness.

This is how the article turned out. Once again, I apologize to the readers for not being able to post in October about many of the actors you were probably waiting for. It’s all about the absence of two “B” – inspiration and time. You yourself understand that I don’t want to read the articles I’ve made about my favorite actors either – and I myself don’t want to – and I have to hone all the collected material to make it interesting for you. Sometimes it is just that the muse does not visit a particular pair of actors, but rushes to others. Here’s a paradox …
But, I hope, we will still see articles on our favorite actors in November. At least I’ll try to write them.

And as it happened at the very beginning – keep a survey with which you can determine which of the two actresses is more popular on the Zen platform.Vote, write your impressions, comment – I will only be glad.

See you in the next article!

Biographical films in Bollywood are in vogue. Many of them have experienced the joy of great commercial success. Often, such films are criticized for the excessive heroization of the person on the screen. In this sense, Sanju’s blockbuster differs from such films, as it shows, among other things, the darkest and most unfortunate periods of the life of the actor Sanjay Dutta.

Sanjay Dutt is the son of famous actor Sinul Dutta and actress Nargis. Father puts Sanjay in his Rocky movie. The young man tries drugs for the first time. The mother falls seriously ill, she has very little left to live, and she is taken to New York for treatment. While Nargis is fighting death, Sanjay is unable to control his addiction to drugs.Because of this, he breaks up with his girlfriend, and his mother dies in the United States three days before the premiere of Rocky. Sanju agrees to go to drug rehabilitation in the United States, but there he is soon arrested for illegal possession of weapons. He is suspected of participating in the 1993 Mumbai attacks.

“The Gamblers” is a Bollywood remake of the popular American blockbuster 2003 “The Italian Robbery”, which was remembered by the audience for its gorgeous boat chase on Venetian canals and exciting Mini Cooper races in Los Angeles.

In the Indian version, there is also a gang of robbers, consisting, oddly enough, of good people, stealing a large amount of gold, betrayal, racing in small nimble cars (the City of Angels has been replaced by New Zealand’s Wellington) … but instead of the waterways of Venice, there are Russian railways.Part of the film was shot in St. Petersburg and, according to the creators, somewhere in Siberia.

90,000 Coffee Extracts with Karan Akshay and Twinkle

-Okay, let’s talk about Bollywood marriages.
K: – Just a minute … I just want to say that there is nothing like a Bollywood marriage. There is a good or bad marriage, but there is no Bollywood marriage.
-Yes … But …
K: -Wait. Sorry to interrupt you. Why are you asking me? I am single.
-But why?
K: – It’s an old story.
-Let’s talk about it.
K: -No, I don’t want to.
– Come on, Karan! Open up.
C: -I’m already open.
-You know, my sources tell me …
K: -I’ll interrupt you again. There are no “sources” this is all pretense, don’t you think?
-You know, there is no smoke without fire.
K: -You’re talking about the same thing again. Another cliché: “There is no smoke without fire” .. is that all you can say original?
-Em, Karan …
K: -It’s not original. Karan is far from original.
-Hey, come on!
K: – That’s it, come on.

K: -What will you do when you have the most chatty movie star and the smartest mind in the movie industry in the same room? What will you do when you find out that they are spouses? And that this marriage… reliable as a rock. From lovers to best friends spouses. He is diplomatic, she is stubborn. He is calm, she is explosive. Meet Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna!
K: -For the first time on national television we see Akshay Kumar and Twinkle together. I feel special. Thank you very much.
A: – Generally, thank you. I don’t know how you persuaded her. She wouldn’t have come.
K: -She would come.
A: -I don’t know how you managed to persuade her.
K: -Before we start … this is the first time I have 2 people sitting so close together on the couch across from me.Is this the place for a third in a marriage?
T: -You are there. Go. Be a man.
K: -What … (paused. Twinkle laughs)
T: -Enjoy your fantasy, Karan.
K: -Thank you. (laugh)

K: -Akshay, what are you doing with the speakers? Do you really add color to them?
A: -Do you want to answer?
T: – In general, every column that I write, he reads it and then he decides what should be thrown out. And then I get grades … 7 out of 10, 9 out of 10.
K: -In your columns?
T: -In mine.
K: -T. e. is he like a school teacher?
T: -Yes. In each column …
A: -By the way, she asks me: “How many out of 10?” This is what happens every Friday – Saturday.
T: -Friday.
K: -Do you give good marks or what she deserves?
A: -No, I’m very honest.

K: -Let’s go back a bit. This friendship of yours began with a whirlwind romance, right? Nothing serious was planned …
A: -No, it didn’t start with an affair.
T: -It’s started.
A: -Is it started? (Karan laughs)
T: -I decided.
A: -If you ask me, I will follow the diplomatic route.
K: -Good. What’s next? (Turns to Tina) I don’t ask you then. (To Akshay)
T: -Do not ask. I wanted to have an affair for the first time in my life. So I decided that I would spend 15 days with him. This was my plan.
K: -But why 15 days?
T: -Because it was on a trip. There were no books, no TV … I was very bored and he was at hand. He was perfect.
(Karan laughs. Akshay throws a pillow at him)
K: -Why are you throwing at me? It is she who says it all.
A: -Because you force her to say all this.
K: -And then what?
T: -Then …
K: -Then this 15-day romance was supposed to be excellent, because you are sitting …
A: -Then we played a wedding, lived happily after … now we have 2 children and we are happy. Today we came to “Coffee with Karan” and that’s all.
K: -You once told me that if Mela flops and this is your last film, you will marry Akshay.
T: -Yes.
K: – Was that your backup plan?
T: – It wasn’t my backup plan.
A: -I proposed to her when she launched “Mela”. Then she said, “Then I will marry you,” because she did not want to leave Akshay.
K: -Akshay is the smartest in the film industry.
T: -He knew!
A: -No, no! How could I know? I haven’t seen the movie. I think it had to happen and it happened.
T: -I called him on Monday and said: “I agree.”
K: Is that all? So simple?
A: -No, then I went to talk to her mother, and then a lot of things happened.
K: -Why? What happened?
T: -In general, he asked my mom… he came to my mother to ask her permission to marry me. I sat with her, and Akshay opposite. And my mom says to me: “I need to tell you something.” I said, “Tell me.” “No, no, only when he’s gone.” “Tell-tell me.”
A: -Do not forget about television.
T: -It’s okay. A friend of hers who made articles or newspapers for gay people said that Akshay is gay. And she told me this when he was sitting with us.
K: -But then she agreed.
T: -She didn’t agree.
K: -She didn’t agree?
T: -No.
T: -She said that we should live together for a year, and then we’ll see.

A: -Can I say something?
T: – Okay, talk.
A: -I got angry and then I tried to understand what she said to me. It took a while until I could fully understand exactly what she meant. I learned a lot from her. To many … I then looked at things differently, but now I look at it in truth from the other side. Those. my point of view is completely different now.
K: – Because of her? (Akshay nodded)

T: But it’s okay, if you get married, you have to understand why you are doing it.
K: -T. e. do you mean to stick to it?
T: – Yes. I mean, I really, really like him, he’s an amazing person … but you have to have real reasons to get married.

K: – .. And you get up at 4 in the morning! Who does that?
A: – I do not understand this concept: why do people consider it a rarity? I just sleep at night.
K: – This is about you, but I want to know the other side. How do you combine everything with such a schedule? (To Tina)
A: – Just like me.
T: -I was like that before. My mom told me if I don’t want to be wrinkled, I have to go to bed and get up early. So … this is our common trait and this is wonderful.
K: -But you can’t always be awesome Tina. You once said that you were a terrible actress. And you believed it.
T: -I was a terrible actress. I think people who watched “Mela” only remember it because it flopped because of my play.
K: -A Akshay, who went through a wonderful journey, started acting in different films …
A: -Me began to be recognized, because she entered my life and everything changed. This is also what she keeps telling me. She changed a lot …
K: -For example what?
A: – Like what I am now …
T: – Like what I told him that I would not want a second child if he does not start acting in serious films.
K: -Oh Lord, did she really say that?
A: -I can’t tell you what I had to go through every day.(Karan bursts out laughing). You get the idea.
K: -I get it, but you changed the genre of cinema just because you wanted a second child?
A: – I can’t tell you what I went through … (laughs)
….
K: -Yes, do you have something to say?
T: – When I met him, he had 14 flops in a row. fourteen! I counted!
C: -14 flops? You never had … (Akshay nods)
T: – It was.
K: – Seriously ?? What are you saying?
T: -I had one flop and one hit. I think … I’m not sure.I made the movie a hit because I wasn’t in it. “Everything happens”. (everyone laughs)

K: -There are those who called Raja Akshay, but why Twinkle, Tina?
T: -Because my grandfather wanted to call a similar name with the names of my mother and aunts. Dimple, Simple, Twinkle … The other choices were Spuckle and Sprinkle. Twinkle is better. Imagine if my name was Sprinkle!

K: – Well, tell me about the stone that you have. How much does it cost?
T: -I don’t know.
K: -In your ears too.
T: -I don’t know.
K: -Do you always wear these?
T: -No. This is all for you.
K: -For me?
T: -But … the first year for my birthday, he handed me a glass paperweight. Paperweight.
K: – Paperweight?
T: – I don’t know what he thought, but I was very impressed by this paperweight …
A: – Actually, I forgot about my birthday. As an honest person, I tell you, I forgot about my birthday. And when that day came, I did not have time to buy, and therefore … I had a paperweight at home and I was more likely to have it… (gestures how he wrapped it) (everyone laughs)
T: – He gave me a paperweight and then I told him that: “One day you will buy me a diamond larger than this paperweight. I’m sure!”
K :-Bravo!

(Before Akshay sang the song, Karan said a couple of words, hinting that Akshay had a surprise for her):
T: -What are you up to? I hope … I don’t like surprises. I hope this will be nice.
A: -Nothing. This is actually the song we listened to when we had an affair.
K: -A haircut?
A: – An affair that began in Calgary. And … there was a song …
T: -I know this song.
A: -You know her. And I practiced it.
K: -To sing it?
A: – This is a song that lovers dance to. “Stranges in the night”. Because I knew that if I came to the show with her, I would want to surprise her with the performance of this song …
K: -Oh god.
A: – And I practiced …
T: – So sing!

(When Karan got the microphone from behind for Akshay, Twinkle could not miss the moment and twisted it)
K: -You know, Tina, I have nothing to say.
A: – This is exactly what happened to me. Nothing to say. The best option is to say nothing.

(After Akshay sang the song. Tina burst into tears)
K: – I have to say that … I don’t know what to say. But it’s like … I was touched and I have to admit that this is the best moment I’ve ever had on my show. (Tina took Akshay’s hand) This is strong and I would like to say, “I love you, Akshay.” And I was really upset that I was not married.

K: -And we are ready for a blitz survey.A beautiful and very daring blitz poll. Last time he came alone, he had no one to compete with. This time you are here. So are we going to start with you or him?
T: -It’s all the same.
K: -Who is the boss in marriage?
T: -He!
K: – Then I’ll start with you, because I think you should do it first and I’m sure …
T: – I’ll try.
K: -Then let’s start. Women find Akshaya sexy because …
T: He is.

K: Best Khan: Salman, Shah Rukh, Aamir?
T: – Why don’t you have another Khan? Favada Khan. And you answer this question. (Akshay laughs) Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman, Fawad? Who is your favorite? (Karan tries to answer something, but evenly, laughs) Pull yourself together, Karan. OK. Bollywood’s fuzziest bachan is it?
T: -Chippu Kapoor.
K: -Who?
T: -I don’t want to say hurtful things.

K: -Part the actors by sexuality: Sidharth Malhotra, Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun, Tiger Shroff?
T: -This is a very exciting question, I will not answer. I’m not interested in them. Sorry.

K: -What about the girls? Who do you like: Deepika, Anushka, Karina, Katrina, Sonam, Aliya?
T: – I don’t want to fall into your trap. Therefore: Aliya, Anushka … who else?
K: – Katrina, Karina, Sonam ..

K: -Okay, which of these girls do you like?
T: -I like Aliya. Because I saw the promo for “Dear Life” and it was beautiful.
K: – Okay, nice. Thank you for promoting the movie coming out this month. November 23rd. Okay, Shah Rukh or Salman?
T: -Shah Rukh.
….
K: -Three things that no one knows about you?
T: – I cry a lot, I sleep in one position, not moving like a dead man …

K: -I can do better …
T: -Katrina in Kala Chashma. Well? I can answer what I want.
K: -You will dance better than Katrina?
T: -He! Akshay will do it!
K: Will Akshay dance better than Katrina?
T: -Yes!

K: -Akshay, are you ready?
A: -Yes.
K: -What does your wife mean when she says: “We need to talk?”
A: – Means that I should not blush.

K: -If you could change something in your wife, what would it be?
A: -Igniter.
T: – Nothing of the kind. I have been doing yoga for 15 years. All my ardor goes away …
A: -Tina, what about those days when you are not studying? What will happen? And do you do yoga every day?
T: -All 10 days.
A: -And what will happen on the day when you do not study? What will happen to me then? And what would I want to change then?
K: – Fervor.
A: -Igniter.

(To the question regarding Akshay’s convictions, Akshay answered):
A: -… that I am a “cigarette” actor. My game is like furniture and something like that I’m real furniture …
K: -Real furniture? Because of wood?
A: – Yes, I am wooden.
K: -Okay, what crazy did you do for the girl?
A: -I was never good at school, so I never did my homework. But the crazy thing is, I was doing her homework. And so she smiled at me and kissed me on the cheek. But that was when I was at school.

K: – Okay, what will you do if you wake up with the following people? If you wake up as Salman?
A: – I’m getting married.
K: – If you wake up as Sonaksha?
A: -I will marry.
K: -If you wake up Ranveer Singh, will you marry?
A: (laughs) – I’m getting married.
K: -Marriage is all you would do?
T: -With each.
K: – (Ruma) How would you start talking about yourself?
A: – I will be the next James Boyd.
K: – Okay. It’s funny. Now you will answer like Twinkle … like Twinkle Khanna. You are Twinkle Khanna and I am asking you questions. The easiest way to make me smile is …
A: – To see my family and children playing in the garden of my house…
K: – Makes you happy?
A: – Makes me happy … me, like Twinkle.

A: -We both love to watch … Do you know what we like to watch? We love to watch horror.
T: -We watched a lot of horror movies together.
K: – Them?
T: – Every night, before going to bed, we play Rummy (a kind of card game) … 10 rounds of Rummy.

K: – And my last question: Which of them will last longer: Salman, Shah Rukh, Aamir or will you last longer than all of them?
A: – If they quit smoking, they will hold out for a long time, otherwise – me.
K: -Okay, thank you very much. And I have a clear winner, which I will now announce. The winner of my blitz poll is … you!
T: -Of course, me!
A: -Why am I not surprised?
K: -Well, because she gave more funny answers. I mean, you answered succinctly.
A: -Let’s call someone from the side and ask.
K: -Why should I ask? I will not ask. I decided so. It’s my opinion.
T: – He says you’re boring. Just take it.
K: -I didn’t say he was boring.I just said that your answers were excellent.
***

A: -In fact, this is not a question from somewhere there … this is my daughter, who is 4 years old. But I don’t know how to answer them. Here are the questions she asks …

T: -Why did Pluto descend to the planet? You can think about it. I am asking you.

K: -I don’t know. (Akshay laughs)

T: -Who is the country’s defense minister?

K: -Parekar.

T: -One is.

A: -She didn’t ask that one.

T: – I asked.

A: -The first one she asked.

K: -Parekar.

A: -Come on, ask one more.

T: -What does chlorophyll do?

K: -Chlorophyll? (laughs). I don’t know what he is doing.

A: -What comes to your mind? I know something has come. Chloro – phyll.

K: -I don’t know, probably it has something to do with the pool.

A and T: -This is chlorine.

T: – Oh Lord!

K: -I know… I’m bad at explaining. And your daughter asks you what does chlorophyll do?

T: -Yes. And asks why Pluto fell on the star.

K: -And what is your relationship? Between you (pointing to Akshay) and yours and son and you (to Twinkle)? What changes have happened then and now? You have to describe them, Tina. What is between Aarab and Akshay?

T: – They are friends and they walk together. Earlier Akshay called to the street, now Aarav is calling Akshay.

A: -This is a big change. Now he says to me: “Come on, let’s go.”

K: – Agitates.

T: -And they are very similar. They are both diplomatic. They know how to manage people.

A: -He yes … my daughter is just a cast copy of her.

T: -Yes.

A: -She says everything that comes to mind. Doesn’t filter.

T: -She doesn’t filter and she has something to say, she asks questions, and wants to know “why” in everything. I think it’s wonderful.

K: -She’s curious just like you.

November 2016

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan about how she easily manages to combine work in the cinema, participation in promotions and the joy of active motherhood. Jitesh Pillai fondly remembers the meeting …

The coffee shop at the luxury hotel is our conventional place for our annual chat. Heads turn in her direction, they recognize her. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has always attracted attention. It was the same 20 years ago when I first met her for her debut interview with Filmfare. In addition to all of her interviews, photo shoots, awards ceremonies and long breaks, I personally saw her transform from a young gazelle into a full-fledged superstar. And I feel a sense of satisfaction, because her warmth has remained the same as it was. During her photo shoot with partner Ranbir Kapoor for Filmfare magazine, no one could take their eyes off her either. With flawless hair and a face that captivates the camera, we are all very happy with the result. When she is filming, it seems that time has stopped, and we find ourselves in the bygone 90s.Because nothing has changed. Only a chronicle of dates and achievements. She is now a mother. She is married and belongs to the eminent Bachchan family, who have been public figures for several decades. She is a well-known name herself. I lost track of all our interviews together, but they were all fun. Warm greetings, exchange of fresh gossip, and we get down to business: I ask her questions about ADHM and much more …

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil ( ADHM ) tells of unrequited love. What’s your take on this?
– I am very lucky, and I cannot imagine unrequited love; consider that I owe this to motherhood … as for ADHM , as soon as Karan told me the script, I smiled and said: “This is all you are!” Karan and I have known each other for a long time. We had wonderful, very cordial, deep and long conversations. He shared a lot with me. So I immediately agreed to be a part of the film, but more as a friend than as an actress. In the past, we got together so many times. But this happened only when fate decreed it. After my marriage, our relationship became even more trusting, since he is a close friend of Abhishek and the whole family.

– What makes the ADHM unique?
– I liked the style of the film. Karan has a gift for telling about the film exactly the way he is going to shoot it. The dialogue between the characters is so straightforward. The way the characters of the film communicate with each other does not feel like cramming. The most romantic, most emotional moment – and that will be expressed in a very realistic style, like a life sketch. In real life, there is always some kind of hitch, a cough, an awkward position, a stupid phrase, the rhythm can get lost and destroy the moment … and nevertheless, two are able to re-engage in what is happening and not lose the thread of feelings. This is all present in ADHM scenario . Karan is known as the king of romantic stories. However, here love is shown in its everyday life, such as it happens in real life.I wanted to be a part of this breaking love story. As an actress, I have always chosen such films that give freedom from convention – starting with Iruvar .
– What else attracted you to the ADHM ?
– This film is not only about me. The character of Anushka Sharma , Alize, is the longest in terms of screen time. The film is also about Ayana (Ranbir Kapoor) and the internal changes he goes through during his relationship with women. Fawada Khan’s character makes you think about the driving forces of society. It also shows a deep understanding of how a woman is able to hold on to relationships, break them off, and also switch to other relationships in her personal life. It happens that a person comes into your life for a short time, but leaves a mark that radically changes your view of things. It was interesting to rid the viewer of those stereotypes in which he was always imprisoned, and to give him the opportunity to enjoy such a film.

– Your chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor seems just scorching …
– Ranbir and I have known each other for a long time. We have a comfortable relationship. This is what creates that chemistry between Ayan and Saba (the character of Aish, the poetess). I adore Ranbir as an actor, not to mention that I have the most tender feelings for him in my personal life, thanks to our friendship during the filming of Uncle Chintu’s film ( Rishi Kapoor ) Aa Ab Laut Chale , where he was an assistant. On screen, Ranbir is simply magical. His parents are also magical … I have always adored Uncle Chinta and Aunt Nita .I saw Ranbir helping to Sanjay Leela Bhansali before filming Saawariya . He constantly said, “My God, Sonam and I are forced to play scenes from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam all the time as a practice.” I love the energy that both actors feed on from each other. Ranbir and I were laughing and fooling around. As soon as Karan said “Let’s start!”, We instantly jumped into action. But as soon as he said “Cut!”, We were laughing again until we dropped.

– In an interview with Filmfare , Ranbir admitted that “Aish was a huge star during Aa Ab Laut Chale , but she never treated me arrogantly …”
– Yes, on set Aa Ab Laut Chale we were best friends. Akshay Khanna was also a friend, but fickle. He’s cute, but he has mood swings. However, Ranbir and I became friends so closely that this friendship continues to this day. The most touching thing happened just a couple of days ago.We were on the set, I made a video call to Aradhya, and she gave Ranbir her characteristic smile. She knows him well. One day she just threw herself into his arms, because he was wearing a jacket and a cap – exactly like Abhishek, and his face was stubble. Taking him for AB, she hugged him, and Ranbir was very moved. Aunt Hiru (mother of Karan Johar) said: “Ranbir, no one can resist your spell.” But I realized what really happened. I asked her, “Did you think it was dad?” And she said, “Yeah.”From that day on, she’s been a little embarrassed of him. Abhishek jokingly replied,” Hmm … it’s just a blow in the stomach. “I told Ranbir it was so funny. I was crazy about his father, and he is the first of the actors, to whom Aradhya reacts with such an embarrassed smile. Life repeats itself. She likes the song from Tamasha Matargashti. When we celebrated her 4th birthday, we danced to this song. On the set I introduced Ranbir to her as ‘Uncle Ranbir’. He joked: ” No, RK! ”Twice she called him“ uncle ”, and on the third day he suddenly became just“ RK ”.We all laughed at it so much.

– Was it difficult to portray love between an older woman and a much younger man?
– I didn’t even think about it. Ask Ranbir if he was thinking about this topic. I didn’t even have a thought for a second.

– Tell us about unrequited love. I saw how many men fell in love with you and remained with their unrequited love …
– I don’t know if love can be considered unrequited in my life. For me it has always meant personal growth, development and finding my own self. This is what I consider my personal experience of so-called unrequited love.

– But my question was about how it feels to another person …
– (Laughs). Well, then you need to forward this question to someone else. I am not saying this for the sake of a diplomatic response or in an attempt to avoid risk. My life has always been in plain sight. My student years were spent on a public platform as an actor. I don’t think there was a similar aspect in my life.

– Which is better – to love and to lose or not to love at all?
– I guess everyone goes through this. It’s just that someone talks about it, and someone does not. It could be a teenage crush or a deep relationship. Everyone had some experience that he would describe as “unhappy love”, and maybe personal growth, internal development and changes, as well as moving forward through what fate has in store. Such experiences can be expressed in any form; everyone went through something that broke his / her heart – and it could be a simple fight or a huge problem that turned their whole life upside down.So yes, deep love and broken hearts exist. The point is only to endure, endure, collect yourself and continue to live – despite the finished chapters and phases in life.

– What is the difference in the depiction of unhappy love by Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali?
– They are both masters of their craft. The audience is simply crazy about their films and the emotional intensity that is present in them. Their films are a holiday. It’s not in my rules to go to the director and ask when he plans the next project and what it will be like. But when I was on maternity leave, I said to each of them separately: “Please, the audience is just begging. And I myself am the same ardent spectator as I am an ardent actress. Let me not participate in the film, but I want him at least see.” Sanjay discussed with me Bajirao (laughs). Only he did not find a Bajirao that would suit me. He tried. But nothing came of it. He said, “Look, if I can get that actor to play Bajirao, then you will definitely be Mastani. And if I can’t.”.. “and I replied:” It doesn’t matter. Make a movie anyway! Because what matters is your vision. “Hats off to the entire production team working on the film.
He shot Ram-Leela in a completely unconstrained way; he deviated a little from his classic style to please the mass audience. It was creative He gave freedom to a certain part of himself, which, perhaps, did not fully correspond to his aesthetic idea. Devdas was sublimely operatic. This film continues to impress. It has a cinematic foresight that doesn’t wane over time. Guzaarish also had such a dramatic intensity. Sanjay was able to portray a simple room on a visual scale that made Ethan feel claustrophobic ( Hrithik Roshan ). Viewers discussed Sophie’s appearance and loved him as much as the song Udi. Tim Burton, Shyam Benegal , Ritu-da (deceased Rituparno Ghosh ), Vidhu Vinod Chopra … Sanjay combines all their qualities in one. In this case, the essence remains his own.

– And Karan?
– In Karan’s films, the viewer only wants to feel love and passion. Because with our busy lifestyle, we don’t leave ourselves enough time to experience it all in full. The viewer wants to forget himself, living these feelings. It’s three hours of reward – whether it’s emotion or pain. This is the classic of Indian cinema. Pa ( Amitabh Bachchan ) once said in an interview that three hours now fit into two and a half.Because cinema is a business. I’m sorry that the visualization of the songs has now been reduced to just a few minutes. They had their own charm – as if you are transported into a fairy tale. Karan is a master of his craft who loves to do everything with humor and ease. However, he is also a deeply feeling person. Sanjay also has a frivolous sense of humor, but he shows the viewer only emotional intensity. You probably can’t imagine Sanjay giggling at jokes.

– What about the intimate scenes with Ranbir?
– Mmmm… I am not at all frivolous about the choice of my films. I think it over carefully, discuss it with the director. On set, I’m a smart and vocal actor. I have never been treated like a newbie. Ritu-da, Ashu ( Ashutosh Govariker ), AJ ( Ajay Devgan ) at HDDCS , Shah Rukh Khan at Josh and Mohabbatein … if I want to express my thoughts on the set one actor or director kept me from feeling that I was not allowed to share my thoughts. This has been the case since the very first day of filming. When it comes to invading my comfort zone, I’ve always had a solid framework.
When I first walked into the cinema, it was too predictable to do scenes like “a girl swims in a pool, comes out and throws her hair back”, because I was a model and the owner of the Miss World title. I didn’t want to do something predictable. I am a free from prejudice actress, but this does not mean that I am ready to take off my clothes or throw back all the boundaries of decency.Rather, it means choosing a film like Iruvar as my first film – and this is not because I was not offered a major debut project. But because I wanted to work with Mani Ratnam . I am progressive. Here’s what I made it clear.

– Continue …
– I was not constrained by frames, and played the sister of SRK in Josh . I really liked Mansour Ali Khan’s films . He was ahead of his time. In Mohabbatein I had one scene and one song with Shah Rukh. But it became one of the most famous love stories. After Chalte Chalte , the work suddenly began to disappear, but at the same time, the West welcomed me with open arms. Then I promised myself that I would not let anyone decide my future for me. So Bride And Prejudice happened. There was a kiss in the script. But I said, “ Gurinder ( Chadha , director), we can do without him because he is not a crucial part of the story. And it doesn’t feel like a necessity between me and Martin Henderson at all.
At the same time I shot Shabd . There was no kiss there, but there were intimate scenes filmed by a female director ( Lina Yadav ). (Laughs) We shot them in a certain way and joked that it would be my portfolio for the West. I didn’t mind faking intimacy without physical contact. Because I understood how much debate my kiss would cause. Dhoom was filmed 10 years after the beginning of my career, and kissing scenes have already become something familiar to the viewer. So over time, you review things and decide what can have a shocking effect and what cannot – and you do it with full responsibility. Public acceptance and viewing of such scenes without embarrassment comes over time. You measure the limits of what is permissible, taking into account your comfort zone. When I agreed to kiss at Dhoom , we decided that it would be part of the scene. There is a dialogue in that kiss. There is not just music picking up and a silent kiss going on. And Hrithik and I don’t hug each other.

– But, going back to the intimate scenes in ADHM
– Karan wanted to show everything in a much more intimate way. But I didn’t go outside my comfort zone. It’s about the dynamics of the relationship between Saba and Ayana. She is a progressive woman who leaves such an indelible mark that she forever remains his inner voice, she is the reason why he writes his songs. He sings songs based on her poems, in this he finds self-expression. She continues to be a part of his life forever. Even in their parting, there is some kind of continuation. You can only remember “wow, this is chemistry!” or you will remember the depth .. You may remember the wardrobe, the visual beauty of the scenes, you may adore music, or you may be amazed at the depth of this relationship.
Being a creative person, or even just from the position of a woman with life experience – this is how I intend to relate to my craft. I’ve never played a character like Saba. During the same year, I shared three diametrically opposed works … The emotional role of a career woman and mother in Jazba , the deep role of Dalbir Cor in Sarbjit .I am not afraid of participating in a film that shows my aging, where I will look completely different from what is expected of me – and this despite the fact that my appearance is always so meticulously studied! My choice is always for what is least expected of me. I am glad that I managed to do something new in the history of Karan Johar. The reaction of the female half was amazing. As one journalist put it, why is age so often discussed in relation to women, when it is unimportant in relation to men? I’m glad the film raises such questions.

    Plot

Pervez (Ahmad Ali Butt) and Sheikh (Wasai Chaudhry) are old friends who live simply and normally with their wives. Pervez is tired of his wife Lubna (Uzma Khan), who constantly talks on the phone with her brother Rakhat.Rakhat invites Lyubna and Pervez to his wedding together with the Sheikh and his wife Gul (Sarvat Gillani). Rakhat is a millionaire, and all his spending inflames Pervez’s great dislike for Rakhat.

Sheikh sees his old friend Sherri (Humayun Said) on TV on Mental Health Day, so he and Pervez go to the hospital, where they find out that he is in the hospital. The doctor told them that Sherri’s wife, Marina, had died in a parachute jump in the United States. Sherri tried several times to commit suicide after her death before being admitted to the hospital.Sherri slowly recognizes Sheikh but still tries to commit suicide by hitting himself with his mobile pen.

Rahat got engaged to Zoya, the daughter of Balani (Sohail Ahmed), a famous and well-established fashion designer in Turkey. Meanwhile, Sheikh and Pervez are now Sherri’s caretakers. Sherri jumps out of the car as they drive him home and tries to commit suicide by running in front of passing cars on the road until he jumps in front of a police car and is arrested along with Sheikh and Pervez.

Rakharht picks them up from the police station and takes them to his home, where Rakhat is greeted with a blow that instantly confuses him. He wakes up in an apartment (at gunpoint) and confronts a mafia leader who accuses him of borrowing $ 3 million. Finally, the real reason for his extravagantly wealthy lifestyle is revealed. Sherri stands in front of a gun to commit suicide; at the same moment Zoya and Balani arrive. However, Rakhat somehow escapes from his situation thanks to the fun role-playing game.Sherri takes off and a car chase with Rahat, Pervez and Sheikh makes Sherri jump off the hill. He survives but is confronted by Selina (Kubra Khan) as she climbed the hill. The men safely take Sherri and Celina away. Sherri falls in love with Celina and cancels his plans to die, but finds out that she is Indian, is engaged and is getting married. She leaves with her fiancé for Dubai.

Sherri follows her to Dubai. She tells him that they cannot get married because her father, Nawab, hates Pakistanis. The reason for his hatred is that her father’s cricket career was ended when Imran Khan’s bouncer punched him in the face.

Sherri devises a plan to get into Selina’s house, disguising Pervez as the wedding planner for Selina, “Main”, and Sheikh as his manager. The plan fails when Sherri meets and reveals the truth to Selina’s date, who, despite her hatred of Pakistanis, allows the group to stay for the wedding. Meanwhile, Balani falls in love with Maina.
