1) The Southern Ridges Trail
If you’re looking for a challenge, the Southern Ridges Trail is your best bet. With most of the trail going uphill, you’ll be surrounded by lush jungle greenery spanning three parks: Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Kent Ridge park.
Part of the trail is the 300 meter long Henderson Waves, a wooden bridge that offers great treetop views and an awesome sunset.

2) The Green Corridor
Perhaps one of the most unique trails in Singapore, the Green Corridor is a long stretch of trees and bushes that runs along the entire length of Singapore. Part of an old rail network, the trail remains scenic with old bridges covered in graffiti, majestic houses and trees. Running here feels like you’re completely lost in the countryside.

3) MacRitchie Reservoir
Probably one of the most famous reservoirs in Singapore, MacRitchie Reservoir is known for its accessible running trails. Although the trail starts on asphalt, it eventually goes deep into the forest on a rough dirt track.
While you’re in the area, check out the HSBC Treetop walk and get a bird’s eye view of the reservoir. Keep your water and snacks close to you, the monkeys are known to get quite frisky!

4) Singapore River
Although the bustling nightlife might get in your way, running along the Singapore River is strangely calming. Maybe it’s the running water, but this route definitely makes you forget you’re smack in the middle of Singapore.
A route that starts at Alexandra Canal Linear Park, this run ends by the Esplanade right by the iconic Merlion. You’ll also get a great view of Marina Bay Sands and if you’re lucky, you might be there just in time for the light show.

5) Marina Bay – Gardens By the Bay
You’ll definitely want to bring your camera on this run. From the skyscrapers in the CBD, to the majestic Marina Bay Sands, to the lush vegetation in Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Flyer, you won’t run out of sights to see.
This route is best run at night, with all the lights illuminating from all the awesome infrastructure. You’ll also get that nice breeze from the Singapore River, a refreshing change from the humid Singapore climate.

6) East Coast Park
Probably the most popular running route in Singapore, the East Coast Park is often included in many big marathons. This route is especially pleasant because it is located on a stretch of beach.

7) Fort Canning Park
Get a taste of historic Singapore with a short run at Fort Canning Park. Located right off Singapore’s shopping district, Orchard Road, Fort Canning offers some of the best views of the bustling metropolis.
Although this is a relatively easy run, you can make it more challenging by adding the stairs to your route. The prestigious Evolve Fight Team often runs here weekly.

Singapore Botanic Gardens
Start Point: Botanic Gardens MRT Station
End Point: Tanglin Gate (near Orchard Road)
With its status as Singapore’s oldest gardens and the country’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is at the top of our list. Verdant nature trails and well-marked paths make this route suitable for joggers and nature lovers of all ages.
Start at Botanic Gardens MRT, and run past the Eco Lake and Healing Garden. Keep a look out for Symphony Lake—you may be lucky enough to catch an outdoor arts performance at the Symphony Stage.
Stop to smell the ‘roses’ at the National Orchid Garden— home to over 1,000 orchid species. After the Ginger Garden, another pit-stop can be made at the Bandstand, which features the garden’s iconic white pavilion.
Proceed to Swan Lake, where you can next take a break to admire the still water against the greenery of the park. If you’re feeling peckish, grab a bite at The Halia, before continuing towards the end point at Tanglin Gate.
Start Point: Fort Canning

If you’re a history buff, Fort Canning is an ideal spot to take a jog. Formerly known as Bukit Larangan (Forbidden Hill), the site is steeped in history and filled with artefacts and sights dating back to Singapore’s colonial era.
Begin your run at the Battlebox museum, a former military underground complex that was used by the British in the defense of Singapore during World War II. While you’re there, keep an eye out for the 9-pound cannon—this artefact was once fired to warn citizens of town fires during the colonial era.
Take a break and enjoy the tropical weather at the Fort Canning Green, a popular open space that plays host to carnivals, outdoor theatre performances and concerts.
Look out for the spiral staircase as you make your way to Dhoby Ghaut MRT—this hidden gem is popular among local photographers looking for a scenic backdrop.
Marina Bay District
Start Point: The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay

With its futuristic architecture and unforgettable views of our city’s modern skyline, the district of Marina Bay is a great spot for urban explorers to work up a sweat.
Start at the Esplanade, Singapore’s performing arts venue. If you’re jogging in the evening, you may catch strains of live music from the establishment’s outdoor theatre.
Continue your jog along the spacious stretch adjacent to The Float at Marina Bay—The world’s largest floating stage.
Zip across the Helix Bridge, and run towards Gardens by the Bay, a verdant space that’s home to cooled conservatories, majestic SuperTrees and myriad wonders of nature.
If you find yourself tantalised by the scent of local cuisine at Satay by the Bay, don’t resist the urge to make a pitstop for a quick bite.
Conclude your run and enjoy the sunset at Marina Barrage. The space is popular with picnickers and kite-flying families, making it a great place to people-watch while you stretch and cool down.

Discover paths less travelled, hidden gems and verdant greenery as far as the eye can see with a jog along The Southern Ridges. Lush forests, sandy beaches and diverse fauna await you along this trail.
Start on the Marang Trail at Mount Faber Park, and immerse yourself in forested terrain, filled with Saga and Angsana trees.
Your jog will take you upslope to Mount Faber Hill, where you’ll be treated to views of the Southern Islands, with cruise ships dotting the horizon.
If you plan to linger a little longer, take a break at the Jewel Box’s Arbora and Dusk, and fuel up with a quick snack.
Be sure to stop by the iconic 274m-long Henderson Waves—the tallest pedestrian bridge in Singapore is known for its iconic, wave-like structure, and is a popular haunt of local photographers.
Slow down to a jog when you reach the elevated Forest Walk of Telok Blangah Hill Park, before exiting at the Alexandra Arch.
Keep a look out for the Berlayer Creek signage, and you’ll be on the right track to Labrador Nature Reserve. During the last stretch of your jog, you’ll pass by scenic landmarks such as the Dragon’s Teeth Gate and the Red Beacon, so be sure to have your smartphone or camera ready.

With a trail that’s a mix of gravel, grass, and pavement, running through the Rail Corridor makes for a challenging adventure off the beaten track.
Trail enthusiasts can start from the historic Tanjong Pagar Rail station, and enjoy long, uninterrupted stretches of greenery and nature.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the diverse fauna that populate this habitat, including Sunda Pangolins, Crimson Sunbirds and Laced Woodpeckers.
Finish off your run at the Old Bukit Timah Rail Station—the rustic train tracks here make for a great photo opportunity.
For a shorter—but no less satisfying—experience, jog from The Rail Mall and make your way to the Old Bukit Timah Rail Station.
The former is home to a range of eateries, so be sure to arrive early if you’re planning to fuel up on chicken rice, kaya (a traditional jam made from coconut and eggs) toast or roti prata (South Indian flatbread) before your run.
You’ll pass by the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve along your way to the Old Bukit Timah Rail Station, so don’t hesitate to make a detour.
The 163-hectare reserve is home to squirrels, pangolins and a variety of avian species like the Asian-Fairy Bluebird and the Red-Crowned Barbet. Take a quick foray into this tranquil habitat, and make a note to visit again in the future!

MacRitchie Reservoir Park
No stranger to outdoor adventurers across the island, MacRitchie Reservoir is surrounded by lush rainforest and nature reserves that boast running tracks, hiking trails, and of course, a huge body of water that can be used for kayaking and canoeing if you are the type for water sports. Incredibly spacious and terrific for both beginners and expert runners, you can get plenty of cardio done here without your workout feeling tedious or boring. Just remember the insect repellent if you’ll be out and about in the evening!
The Southern Ridges Trail
Scenic and tucked away from the city’s dusty streets, the Southern Ridges are a part of Singapore that’s well hidden from the main crowds, meaning you’ll be graced with a tranquil and undisturbed run. The trail is a long one, spanning three parks: Kent Ridge Park, Telok Blangah Hill, and Mount Faber Park. If nature’s your game, this is the trail to get some kilometres into your routine. Watch out for forest cats and adorable squirrels!
Bayfront & Singapore River
If you’re all about hard concrete and towering architecture, it’s worth taking your jog to the Bayfront area. Swing by the boardwalk along the Marina Bay waterfront, down towards the Helix Bridge, and then around to the Esplanade Theatres and towards The Fullerton Hotel. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, follow the Singapore River towards Boat Quay and onwards. You will get a great tour of the bustling CBD area this way.
Gardens by the Bay
If you’ve ever walked around Gardens by the Bay, you’ll probably have noticed the scores of fit and healthy people jogging along the paved paths that skirt by the waterfront. If you’re the type to run in the evenings, you’ll be greeted with the impressive sights of illuminated Supertrees and skyscrapers in the distance. There are boardwalks that bring you past the lake within the Gardens that boast a more serene and tranquil running route, and if you’re up for it, a run to the Marina Barrage might be something worth undertaking.
Punggol Waterway Park
With well-maintained tracks, Punggol Waterway Park is a great place for north-easties. Highlights to jog past include the iconic Jewel Bridge. For those determined to make the most out of their run, they can start from Punggol Park and make their way to the Sungei Serangoon Park Connector, to the Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk, to Lorong Halus Wetland, and to Punggol Waterway Park, ending at Waterway Point for a much-deserved break.
As mentioned, you can get from Gardens by the Bay to Marina Barrage. The panoramic view of the city skyline and the ship-filled sea from atop the barrage is unparalleled, and many people head to the grassy expanse to have picnics or to fly kites. Because of the uphill run to get to the top, it is a great place to get your heart pumping and some good cardio in. The balmy breeze coming from the sea makes the run all the more better.
Jurong Lake Park
Those living in the west have got a pretty decent expanse of land to get some exercise in as well. Jurong Lake Park sprawls across several zones and you can plan your running route to include the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden for a more cultural experience. The boardwalks available will allow visitors to enjoy views of the lake.
Lower Seletar Reservoir Park
This scenic park offers runners a great short-distance route, with its 1.3km track. With a waterfront view to entice visitors, the area looks fantastic in the evenings as the sun starts to set. Other great outdoor activities that families often come here for include kayaking, fishing, bird-watching and dragon boating.
Fort Canning Park
With plenty of towering trees to provide a shaded run, along with uphill slopes and winding tracks, Fort Canning Park is not just a heritage spot for history buffs to get to know Singapore, it’s also a great running destination. Watch out for the native wildlife – squirrels and jungle fowl might decide to pop by to say hello while you jog your rounds.
Singapore Botanic Gardens
Of course, this list would not be complete without the Singapore Botanic Gardens. One of the finest spots for an uninterrupted run, the 150-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site is made up of various themed sections, and spans a whopping 74 hectares. Whether you prefer a lakeside view (complete with adorable turtles, swans and ducks) or a flower garden view (dotted with native flora and tropical plants), there are many areas scattered around the parklands to suit your fancy.
If your gym’s treadmill is starting to bore you, get out and about — these outdoor running routes will make you fall in love with Singapore all over again.

Fort Canning Park

Fort Canning Park has 18 hectares of history-rich hilltop land, and covers nine historical gardens. Because of its convenient, central location, the park’s 2-kilometer trail is a popular running route for busy bees who work and live in the CBD area. The 2-kilometer loop comprises shaded paved walkways, cobblestone paths, and stairs and inclines, giving you variety in running terrain.
Throughout this trail you’ll see colonial structures and historical landmarks like remnants of the fort wall and gate built in the 1860s and 1920s. Need a breather? You can stop and enjoy the calming greenery of beautiful gardens found within the park. The expansive lawns also make Fort Canning Park a popular venue for concerts, outdoor theatre, and various celebrations.

East Coast Park
For Beach Lovers
If you casually walk up to anyone here and ask where’s a good place to run or cycle, East Coast Park is inevitably one of the places you’ll hear. This is partly because the 15-kilometer track is often used for marathon events, and let’s face it—who doesn’t like having a view of the beach?
East Coast Park is also a popular spot for families because it has something for everyone; a playground, dedicated areas for skateboarding and water sports, fishing and camping areas, stores and restaurants along the boardwalk, etc. So you can head out there simply for a run, or make a day out of it with friends or family and make the most of everything the park has to offer.

For History Buffs
The Green Corridor is a 10.5-kilometer stretch of uninterrupted trail that runs from the old Tanjong Pagar railway station in the south, up to the old Bukit Timah railway station. Ideal for running and cycling, this old rail network has been repurposed to showcase historical artefacts and varieties of flora and fauna, and give Singaporeans a “green corridor” that runs through the city.
As of writing, it’s an ongoing ecological and historical conservation project, so make sure to check if there are sections closed off so you can plan your route accordingly. You’ll be running on grass and gravel through lush greenery with old railway bridges and historical rail stations along the way.

The Southern Ridges
For a Great View of the City
The Southern Ridges is an awesome trail for those who love running, nature, and panoramic city views. It spans 10 kilometers and connects Labrador Nature Reserve, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, and Mount Faber Park.
One of our favorite parts of the entire trail is the Henderson Waves. It connects Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park and is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. As its name implies, this walkway is famous for its undulating wave-like architecture, and is a great spot for shutterbugs who want to capture the city views at sunset. The Southern Ridges covers winding routes, inclined paths, and staircases in some parts—making it ideal for those who want more than flat trails and walkways.

MacRitchie Reservoir Park
The Local Favorite
We’d be remiss if we didn’t include what is arguably the most popular running trail in the country, which runs around Singapore’s oldest reservoir built in the 1860s. The MacRitchie Reservoir Park is an old favorite among runners and athletes, and offers 10.6 kilometers of running trail that loops around the reservoir. You can either follow the boardwalk for an easier, flat surface or take the dirt path for an extra challenge.
You can also go fishing, rent canoes and kayaks, and head to the amenities centre where they have lockers, shower rooms, and food kiosks to rest up and re-fuel. Also check out the Treetop Walk, a suspension bridge 25 meters above the ground that connects the two highest points in the reservoir (Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang).

For Your Rainy Day Runs
While this one is more track than trail, it still deserves a spot on our list in case you need to run and exercise when the weather isn’t so great. As of writing, the 100Plus Promenade is one of only two indoor or sheltered tracks in the country (the other one being the one-kilometer track on the 5th floor of Our Tampines Hub).
The 100Plus Promenade is a three-lane track that spans 900 meters and goes around the National Stadium. It’s free for public use and is open 24 hours a day. It’s located on the 3rd level of the National Stadium, and you can also drop by the Exercise & Fitness stations located on the same level if you feel like warming up!

Punggol Waterway Park
For the Sunrise Chasers
The 8.2-kilometer running trail at Punggol Waterway Park is a great route to take no matter what time of day you want to run. There are concrete paths on both sides of the waterway, and restaurants at both ends that you can stop and grab a bite at if you get tired and hungry.
There’s also an area in the park called Sunrise Point, which, as you can guess, is a great spot to catch the sunrise. If the 8.2-kilometer trail is too short for you, keep going and you’ll find the waterway link to Lorong Halus Wetland Park. From there, you can continue your route on to Pasir Ris Park.

Central Urban Loop
For Distance Runners
If you prefer longer distances, the Central Urban Loop offers about 36 kilometers of running trail that starts at Toa Payoh Town Park and ends at Punggol Park. It’s part of the 300 kilometer-long Park Connector Network designed by National Parks to make parks and green spaces more accessible to residents no matter where they live.
This scenic trail winds through different towns, parks, and neighborhoods in the central area, including HDB housing estates and hawker centers in Whampoa and Ang Mo Kio. If you want to go for a long, night run while exploring neighborhoods in Singapore’s central area, this trail is perfect for you.

Pasir Ris Park
For Family-Friendly Fun
Like the other parks mentioned above, Pasir Ris Park also boasts of lush greenery and nature views while offering modern facilities that people of all ages can enjoy. It’s a bit like East Coast Park in that it’s also a coastal park where you can go camping, do water sports, go bird watching, and even have the kids go on pony rides at the Gallop Stables. It’s one of the biggest parks in Singapore, and features a mangrove forest that spans six hectares.
Running along the park’s coastal stretch will get you a distance of about 3.4 kilometers, but you can easily extend your route by exploring the various trails and paths within the park, including the Mangrove Boardwalk.

Marina Bay Waterfront & Gardens by the Bay
For the Cityscape Explorers
The Marina Bay Waterfront is a popular after-work running spot for city dwellers and business folks. Why? Because aside from its central location, it’s also simply a nice place to go for a run in the evening. As you run along the 3.5-kilometer loop, you’ll pass through iconic Singaporean landmarks like the Merlion and the Helix Bridge. If you want a longer run, simply head to Gardens by the Bay where you can gaze up at the towering trees and marvel at sculptures and art installations along the paths.
If you want to avoid crowds of tourists at these landmarks, we suggest heading further out to the Marina Barrage and onto the Bay East Garden. Here you can have a more serene running experience while still enjoying the view of skyscrapers and the city skyline.

From historical trails to scenic city lights, here are 6 jogging routes conveniently located in the heart of the CBD – all with fantastic views for you to switch up that pang kang work out for something more scenic.
1. Marina Bayfront Route – soak in iconic city sights along the bay
Run along the iconic city stretch along the Marina Bay Reservoir: it’ll bring you past the glitz and glamour of Marina Bay Sands, ArtScience Museum and The Esplanade.
Crossover to Downtown Core via the Cavenagh Bridge and take in the sights of the majestic Merlion against the backdrop of the historical Fullerton Bay. Cross the finishing line and cool down at the spacious Promontory Platform that overlooks the entire route you’ve just conquered.

2. Singapore River Route – run along the lively party district
The museum lawn is perfect for your pre-run warm-up
The Singapore River route crosses Clarke Quay, our national drinking hole. The jog here is an easy affair with semi-shaded pathways. You can set off from the Victoria Concert Hall/Asian Civilizations Museum Lawn and head towards the direction of the historical Arts House.
The route itself is pretty simple, all you have to do is follow the flat pavements along the Singapore River. Make the return trip along the river at Jiak Kim Bridge and run along the parallel southside bank.
On your round back, make a quick stop outside Clarke Quay Central and snap a picture of the rainbow-coloured shophouses that line the banks. The route ends at the Big Fat Bird outside UOB Plaza.

3. Fort Canning Trail – visit pre-World War landmarks
Although one of the smaller parks in Singapore, Fort Canning’s trails are notoriously known to be hilly. But those up for the challenge will be rewarded with the lush flora and rich history all around this route.
Once a lookout fort during Singapore’s colonial past, the trail is dotted with historical landmarks and architectural marvels from the past. Start your journey off at the Fort Canning Centre, formerly a British barracks built in the 1920s.
The latter half of the route covers sites like the Fort Gate Remnants of the Fort Wall and the first Christian Cemetery in Singapore.
The route has several resting pavilions and restroom points, and also water cooler points to quench your thirst

4. Tanjong Pagar & Padang Route – admire Singapore’s national landmarks

Starting right at Tanjong Pagar Centre/MRT, this route is conveniently located in the heart of the financial district. Pass by the straight stretch of Maxwell Road and Shenton Way that are lined with a-plenty of skyscrapers.
Then cross the Jubilee Bridge to the Esplanade Park. This quiet stretch of linear park connectors are well sheltered by trees that line the walkway. You’re bound to jog by the park’s very own national monument: the bright blue Tan Kim Seng Fountain.
Continue on and make a U-turn through the War Memorial Park. Then head on to the route’s highlight: the National Gallery and the Padang. For that extra challenge, do a few reps on the museum’s steps, Rocky Balboa style!
The last stretch passes by the Queen Elizabeth Waterfront steps, made famous by Crazy Rich Asians – that h3H talk between Rachel Chu and Nick Young. Since the finish point is located at Raffles Place Park, it’s great for a quick after run bite, not to mention a convenient MRT ride home.

The route warms up on the gentle slopes at Duxton Plain Park, along the back of old shophouses at Yan Kit Road.
Pearl’s Hill City Park
Next, up the ante at Pearl’s Hill City Park. Terrain-wise you can expect many steep slopes and a ton of stairs to give your glutes a real good stretch. This hidden gem of a park is part of a reservoir that overlooks the heart of Chinatown – it has a lotus pond too.

6. Marina Promenade Route – escape the city with Kallang River’s tranquil sights

Not many people know this, but there’s a perfect route for a tranquil run right along the Marina area. The Marina Promenade Trail starts from the Floating Platform and passes the foot of the Singapore Flyer, before continuing onto a peaceful stretch of palm-tree lined park connectors that border the Kallang River.

The latter half of the trail lines the Kallang-Rochor River, which is next to the National Stadium. It’s a secret photo spot for photographers during the National Day rehearsals, where they capture the best shots of colourful fireworks.
The run spans 3km and ends near the North Bridge Road Food Centre for a quick bite to refuel. Make a round trip back for double the burn.

Labrador Park is truly an eclectic mix of nature and history because you get to run amongst the mangroves, forest and beachfront – all while appreciating relics of Singapore’s past. No kidding, these include an actual cannon that defended our coastline in WWII and a symbolic replica of the Long Ya Men (or Dragon’s Teeth Gate) that used to stand at the gateway to Keppel Harbour.
The Long Ya Men was said to help Zheng He in navigating the waters around Singapore during his seven maritime voyages to the west between 1405 and 1433 AD.

7. Most Rustic – The Green Corridor
The Green Corridor is 26km if you run from Woodlands Train Checkpoint to the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. There is a certain charm to this place; each trip feels like an adventurous exploration with its beaten path surrounded by tall grasses and certain parts of preserved railway tracks (which has been around since 1903!).
Although we’ve ran and cycled parts of it, we haven’t done the full route (yet). If you want to catch a glimpse of the corridor, it’s an 8km run from Commonwealth MRT southwards, ending at Rail Mall past the iconic black metal bridge.

More than 125,000 Peloton treadmills will be recalled in the US (most of them Tread + models).In a comment to PA news agency, a company spokesman confirmed that the simulators will be recalled in the UK as well.
The reason for this decision was numerous complaints during the use of treadmills, notes the CPSC. In particular, the commission recorded 72 cases of injury when using Tread +, as well as one death – a six-year-old child was sucked under a treadmill.
The Food Safety Commission cited a difference in the design of Peloton treadmills as the reason for these injuries: the distance from the floor to the treadmill is greater, and the fixing belt consists of two parts and is attached to the sides.
Back in April, the CPSC contacted Peloton to recall the treadmills. Then the commission published video from surveillance cameras, where the death of a six-year-old child was recorded. But Peloton then assured that her exercise machines are safe if children and animals are kept away from them.
“Peloton was wrong in its first reaction to the Food Safety Commission’s request to withdraw Tread +. We should have initially cooperated more fruitfully with her. I apologize for that , ”said Peloton CEO John Foley.
As noted by CNBC, Peloton only started producing its own treadmills in 2018. According to forecasts, sales of Tread + in 2021 should have amounted to more than 2% of the fitness equipment market. Amid the announcement of the recall, the company’s shares plummeted 14%.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) states that “Peloton Tread + poses a serious risk to children due to possible bruises, fractures and even death.”
Authorities caution people against exercising on the Peloton treadmill when children are around and recommends that children not be allowed to approach it when not in use.
The authorities stated that they are also aware of at least one domestic animal that was injured due to this simulator.
The manufacturer itself calls the warning “inaccurate and misleading.”
The warning came after Peloton CEO John Foley reported in March that a treadmill, which the company calls Tread +, had killed a child.
“I recently learned about the tragic incident with a child that led to his death. While we know of only a handful of Tread + incidents involving children, each one is of great concern to Peloton, ”Foley wrote at the time.

But the CPSC said it was “aware of 39 incidents, including one fatality,” and therefore “continues to investigate all known injuries or deaths associated with Peloton Tread +.”
“Due to numerous reports of children being trapped, trapped and pulled under the rear rollers of the treadmill, the CPSC is urging consumers with children to immediately stop using this product at home,” the agency said.

“At least one incident has occurred when a parent was running on the track, but the danger cannot be avoided simply by locking the device, even when not in use,” the CPSC said in a statement.
Peloton said the treadmill is safe as long as people follow instructions and said CPSC “still refuses to partner with Peloton,” although the company itself is open to dialogue.
The statement also says that people need to remove the key when they are not using the treadmill “precisely to avoid the incidents depicted in this video.”
