Lil Wayne & Lauren London’s Son, Kam Turned 11 — See Sweet Messages from Mom & Sister Reginae

Lil Wayne and Lauren London’s son, Kameron, turned 11 years old on September 9, and his doting mom and half-sister, Reginae Carter, showered him with love and sweet messages on Instagram.

On September 9, 2009, Lil Wayne and actress Lauren London welcomed their son, Kameron, into the world. Recently the adorable boy hit his 11th birthday and there was no one more excited than his mom and big sister, Reginae Carter. Both took to Instagram to celebrate Kamron. London wrote:

“King Kam, You are Powerful. You are Resilient. You are a Healer. You shift the atmosphere. My 1st born I am Honored beyond to be your Mothership.”

The proud mom’s touching message to her sweet son was accompanied by a cute photo of him. Dressed in a beige jacket and a white Star Wars hoodie, the birthday boy looked too adorable.

London’s fans and followers joined her in celebrating her little boy, leaving sweet messages and birthday wishes in honor of his new age.

His big sister, Reginae, also shared a heartwarming sisterly birthday message for the newly-turned 11-year-old. Referring to his special day as “Killa Day,” the rapper’s daughter wrote that she loved him and wished him a happy birthday.

Wayne and London had their little boy in 2009 around the time their relationship ultimately hit the rocks. Both of them had been together for years in an on-and-off manner until Kameron was born.

Around the time London found out that she was expecting a child, it was discovered that Wayne had already impregnated someone else, Grammy-nominated singer Nivea.

[Reginae] has easily stepped into the big sister role for all her younger half-siblings despite the drama surrounding their family.

Wayne and the singer had dated before and were even engaged at some point in 2002. The rapper called off the engagement and reached out about five years later when Nivea divorced the man she married along the way.

At that time, the singer already had three kids with her former husband and Wayne himself was a dad of one to Reginae, with another child on the way with his now-ex, Sarah Vivan.

They reconnected and soon, the singer confirmed that she was pregnant with a child that would come three months after London’s.

After discovering that Wayne and London were expecting a child, Nivea broke things off with the rapper. In an interview, she revealed that somehow, she and London were able to bond through their experiences with Wayne and became good friends.

Months after London welcomed Kameron, Nivea welcomed a baby boy as well, Neal. Now, those challenging and difficult times of their complicated relationships with Wayne have passed, and both women have moved on to have a sort of blended family with their children.

The oldest of Wayne’s children, Reginae, with ex-wife Toya Johnson, has easily stepped into the big sister role for all her younger half-siblings despite the drama surrounding their family.

Back in June 2019, Reginae shared a Carter kids photo op with two out of her three younger brothers. Kameron was absent in the picture. Clearly, this family has chosen to take the high road and operate with positivity, unity, and happiness.

Who is Nivea and Lil Wayne’s son? Singer details tumultuous relationship with her baby father

Lil Wayne baby mama Nivea shared some shocking details about her relationship with the rapper in her latest interview with Kandi Burruss’ on her show ‘On the Note’. The singers who never got married share a son together.

During her conversation with Kandi, Nivea opened about her highly complicated relationship with Lil, even revealing that they were engaged to be married when the rapper decided to tie the knot with Toya Johnson instead. And, Nivea was pregnant at the same time as rapper’s former girlfriend Lauren London.

They welcomed a son together in 2009

Nivea and Lil had an on again and off again relationship, which began in 2002. They first got engaged in 2002. However, the rapper went on to call off the engagement in 2003. They reconciled in 2007 after Nivea divorced Terius “The Dream” Nash, but things didn’t go according to her expectations.

Amid rumors of Nivea and Lil expecting their first child, the rapper confirmed that they had welcomed their first in November 2009. They named their son Neal Carter. But, their relationship came to an end once again in 2010.

Neal is now 11 years old and is often spotted in his mommy’s Instagram posts. Nivea has multiple nicknames for her youngest son, including Poot, Young Carter and Meatball.

Nivea and Lauren London were pregnant at the same time!

What makes Lil’s romantic life more interesting if the fact both of his girlfriends were pregnant at the same time. Nivea was expecting her fourth child when London was expecting her first with the rapper.

Nivea told PEOPLE, “I found out the day I was confirmed pregnant with our son that he had another one that should be expected three months ahead of ours. I’m like ‘Wow.’ Then my mama died. So yeah, life!”

She further revealed that she decided to walk out of relationship with rapper when she was pregnant with their son.

“I ended our relationship while I was carrying our son was because I couldn’t take that. I thought I could. I’m a different type of woman. I was like, ‘You know what? You love me? F— it!’ But then I realized that’s not what I wanted. So I let it go,” she explained.

Lil Wayne pushed her to “quit” her music career

Among many other details, Nivea revealed in the latest interview that Lil made her quite her career as a musician. “He said, ‘come be with me. I got you,’,” the rapper reportedly told Nivea before she sent a letter to her label revealing she would be quitting.

However, what unfolded later was something Nivea hadn’t expected. She said, “I’m just sitting there, like, being a housewife… and you know, Reginae for very young.

“All of a sudden.. this is kind of funny.. he was like, ‘I ain’t never stay in an apartment before. Let’s get an apartment.’ So we move out the house and get an apartment but I never realized he did that to move Toya back in the house,” she further added.

Who Is Nipsey Hussle’s Wife? Facts About Girlfriend Lauren London

  • Lauren London stars in the BET show Games People Play, and got her start in the movie ATL.
  • London and the rapper Nipsey Hussle were together from 2013 until his tragic death in March 2019.
  • The 2020 Grammys will pay tribute to Hussle’s career as a rapper, community activist, entrepreneur, father, and partner.

“Half of me is in heaven and the other half is here to pick up and continue,” Lauren London wrote in an Instagram story in December 2019 while reflecting on her extremely difficult year.

On March 31, London’s life was upended when rapper Nipsey Hussle, her partner of nearly six years, was shot and killed outside his L.A. clothing store, likely the result of an argument. “My existence shifted,” London continued in the post. London and Hussle have a son, Kross, 3, together.

Only 33 at the time of his death, Hussle was a Grammy-nominated rapper, entrepreneur, and activist, widely respected for the contributions to the L.A. neighborhood that he lived and worked in his entire life. An obituary in GQ called him the “light of Los Angeles.”

Hussle’s five-year-long relationship with London was an essential part of his story. A month before he was murdered, Hussle–born Ermias Joseph Asghedom—and London were featured in a glowing GQ profile that said the couple was “redefining what a storybook romance looks like in 2019.

For proof, look no further than the text London sent Hussle two months before his death, which she read aloud at his funeral.

“I’m in bed with you while you’re sleeping and I wanted to tell you something. I want you to know I feel real joy in my heart when I’m around you. I feel safe around you. Protected. Like a shield over me when you’re around,” London wrote. “I wouldn’t want to go through this journey with anyone but you. You’ve been the greatest boyfriend to me.”

The 2020 Grammys will feature a tribute to the rapper’s music and career, featuring performances by John Legend, DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Kirk Franklin, Roddy Ricch, and YG. Hussle, who received his first Grammy nomination in 2019, was posthumously nominated for three more Grammys: Best Rap Song (“Racks in the Middle”), Best Rap Performance (“Racks in the Middle”) and Best Rap/Sung Performance (“Higher).

On Grammys night, all eyes will be on London, who is expected to attend the event. Here’s what you need to know about London, and her relationship with Hussle.

Like Hussle, London is a Los Angeles native.

Lauren Nicole London was born in Los Angeles in 1984 to a Jewish father and a Black mother.

Being biracial wasn’t easy for the actress, at first. According to an interview with Skin Deep, Lauren was “teased” by cousins on her mom’s side for not being “Black enough.” Then, at the predominantly white summer camps her father sent her to, she was called “that Black girl.”

“If someone thinks I’m not Black enough that’s their issue,” London said. “I’m okay with who I am and it is what is. I’m a Black woman like my mother, and I love who my father is, and I love both sides of me. Nobody makes a big deal about it anymore because I won’t take that anymore.”

Her first appearance was in a Pharrell music video.

In fact, 17-year-old London speaks the first words in the 2003 video for “Frontin.'” Wearing a green shirt, London casually knocks on the door and asks, “Is Pharrell here?”

She got her big break in 2006.

After junior high, London was home-schooled so she could pursue her acting ambitions. In 2006, at the age of 18, her hard work paid off: London was cast in an episode Everybody Hates Chris called “Everybody Hates Funerals.”

But it was as Erin “New New” Garnett in the 2006 thriller ATL that London’s acting skills were really flaunted. For proof, take a look at this clip of New New apologizing to Esquire (T.I.) for lying about her father’s identity.

After her breakout performance in ATL, London was cast in the movie This Christmas (2007). From there, London has steadily appeared in a variety of movies, TV shows, and music videos for Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo, and her boyfriend, Hussle. Notable roles include Keira Whitaker in The Game (2013-2015) and starring as Vanessa King in BET’s Games People Play (2019).

In a 2019 GQ interview, London revealed that she was hand-picked by director John Singleton to appear in the show Snowfall, but instead chose to focus on raising Kross, her son with Hussle.

She was briefly engaged to Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne has four children with four different women—including London. Their son, Cameron Carter, was born on September 9, 2009.

While London is usually mum about her private life, she opened up about her relationship with Lil Wayne in an interview with Kathleen Carter for Skin Deep.

“I met Dwayne when I was 15 years old. I’ve known him a very long time, and we were in a relationship that didn’t make it. We tried more than once to revive it, and we were engaged briefly years ago, but we eventually parted ways. My son’s father is an intelligent, loving and lovable person who will always be a dear friend. That is all,” she said.

Cameron, now 10, was close with Hussle. He shared a story about seeing Hussle in a dream during the Celebration of Life for Nipsey Hussle event in April 2019.

“On the night of April 2nd, I had a dream I was in a paradise. I was in paradise and I was playing in the ocean water when Ermias popped up right behind me. He said ‘Waddup killa,’ cause that’s my nickname to him,” Cameron said.

She has a child with Hussle, too.

The couple’s son, Kross Ermias Asghedom, was born in 2016. On Kross’s third birthday (and his first without his father), London shared photos of the toddler with the message, “Today is my warrior baby’s 3rd Birthday. You are the Light that shines in darkness. You are everything we prayed for and more.”

Kross is adjusting to life without Hussle, as is London. “I have a 3-year-old that’s still asking, ‘Where is Daddy?’ He doesn’t understand the concept of death,” she told GQ in an oral history published in December 2019.

According to an Instagram post, Kross is part of her healing process. “I’m going to stand strong so you can always lean on me,” London wrote in a caption.

Hussle has a 10-year-old daughter, Emani, from a previous relationship. Emani now lives with Hussle’s family.

This video captures London and Hussle’s relationship.

Along with their GQ profile, London and Hussle participated in the magazine’s “Couple’s Quiz” series. Hussle answered questions about London—and got ’em all right. Back when it was published, the eight-minute video was simply proof of their adorable relationship, going strong after five years. Now, it’s a memorial to a truly special kind of love.

Published three days before Hussle’s death, the video concludes with Hussle saying, “We’ll be back. ” Are you crying yet?

London gave an emotional speech at Hussle’s funeral.

In April 2019, thousands gathered to attend Hussle’s memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. London, wearing all-white, gave a moving—and tremendously heart-breaking speech.

She opened with a long message she had texted Hussle in January 2019, written as she watched him sleep. “You and I work, we fit, and you’re the coolest guy in the world to me still. I love you so much unconditionally. My truth is this, I’m never gonna give up on you. My love and my devotion is to you,” a sliver of the much-longer text read.

London paid tribute to his character: “His soul was majestic. He was the strongest man that I ever knew.”

She concluded her speech by speaking to Hussle directly. “Grief is the final act of love. My heart hears you. I feel you everywhere. I’m so grateful that I had you. I love you beyond this earth. And until we meet again, the marathon continues,” London said, referencing Hussle’s album, The Marathon, and his store, The Marathon Clothing.

London honors Hussle in her “Forever Stronger” collection with Puma.

Before his death, Hussle and Puma collaborated on a line for his clothing company. Now, it’s London’s turn. Created by London, the Forever Stronger campaign is a tribute to her late boyfriend’s legacy.

In the video announcing the collection, London reads a poem written by Samantha Smith, Hussle’s sister.

Nivea says Lauren London became her friend when the two were pregnant

Despite Lil Wayne being the father of their unborn children, the ladies were able to connect and find camaraderie

Nivea sat down with VLAD TV to dish about her ex Lil Wayne, and the humiliating reality that he also fathered a child with Lauren London who ultimately became an unlikely ally.

READ MORE: Nipsey Hussle’s family granted guardianship of daughter, Lauren London of son

On Wednesday, the Grammy-nominated singer revealed that she and Wayne dated for years. Despite having an on-again off-again relationship and getting engaged, the “Young Money” rapper called it off in 2003.

PEOPLE reports, however, that the two the childhood sweethearts ultimately reconnected after Nivea divorced her ex-husband, Terius The-DreamNash in 2007,

“He reached back out like, ‘Where have you been?’ It had been five years,” Nivea, 37, said. “He wanted to apologize for the way it ended before. And I needed a damn friend. I felt like the whole world was laughing at me.”

It was a vulnerable time for the singer.  She admits that despite the rapper being a rolling stone and he having a son on the way with his Sarah Vivian, she still decided to rekindle their relationship. Wayne proposed (again) to Nivea in 2009.

They would be a blended family, as Wayne already had a daughter Reginae, with his ex Toya Wright and Nivea shared three kids with The-Dream. Together they decided to forge ahead with their big family – at least that’s what Nivea thought.

“When we reconnected, I had three [kids],” Nivea said. “I wasn’t pregnant. That’s not the reason he proposed to me or anything like that. I took it for, ‘You accepted mine.’ If this occurred before us and we’re just now getting back to it, why wouldn’t I accept that son if you’re telling me you want to marry me? So that was that.”

Nivea got pregnant with her fourth child, her son Neal. This would be her first son, who is now 9, with Lil Tunechi. Things seemed perfect, until she was hit with a bombshell: actress Lauren London, 34, was pregnant too, and the impending deliveries were not far off from each other.

“I found out the day I was confirmed pregnant with our son that he had another one that should be expected three months ahead of ours,” Nivea said. “I’m like ‘Wow.’ Then my mama died. So yeah, life!”

Life came at Nivea fast, so she decided to end her relationship with the rapper.

“I ended our relationship while I was carrying our son was because I couldn’t take that,” she said. “I thought I could. I’m a different type of woman. I was like, ‘You know what? You love me? F— it!’ But then I realized that’s not what I wanted. So I let it go.”

While most situations like this result in baby mommas feuding on end, Nivea said London became the relatable friend that she needed.

“It was very crushing, then she and I became very close, ironically, after he and I decided to let it go,” she said. “She was a real good friend to me during my mother’s death. I know that sounds weird, but we were two people going through something that was along the lines of humiliating. It felt like, who else could you share this oddly unique situation with?”

“We called each other to get information because she and I were both previous relationships of his in our younger years as well,” she about London.

“But it was our first time ever talking. We talked about all kinds of stuff from the past and in that we connected as friends. It’s still a testament to the type of man he is because all of his baby mothers, we’re all cool with each other. We get now that the children are here, damn it! They’re here now. You can’t take nothing back. So we are the best mothers that I’ve ever seen in a group with the same baby father. I think it’s amazing.”

London had a son Kameron, 10, with Wayne but went on to find love with slain rapper Nipsey Hussle.

“I am completely lost, I’ve lost my best friend, My sanctuary, My protector, My soul…. I’m lost without you, We are lost without you,” London wrote.

In February, the couple appeared in a GQ magazine interview speaking on their relationship.

Their family includes Hussle and London’s son, Kross Asghedom, Hussle’s daughter from a previous relationship, and London’s son with rapper Lil Wayne, Cameron Carter.

Hussle’s sister shared her own message on Instagram as well, writing, “To the world you are the strongest man and to me you are the most vulnerable innocent child. Your heart is pure they don’t know you like we know you.” She continued, “I am here to carry out your vision. Ermias God Will Rise. I love you forever and I will cry forever. You are my lifeline as long as I am here you are too.”

Authorities arrested, Eric Holder, the suspect in the shooting on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Nivea and Lauren London became friends when both were carrying Lil Wayne’s child: ‘A testament to the type of man he is’

Nivea Hamilton, 37, one of Lil Wayne’s many former girlfriends and baby mamas, opened up about how she developed an unlikely friendship with Lauren London – who was carrying the rapper’s child the same time that she was pregnant with his baby.

Although Nivea and Lil Wayne had gotten engaged in 2002, the rapper called off the engagement a year later. Following her divorce from Terius “The-Dream” Nash in 2007, the two reunited the same year. In an interview with VLADTV published on Wednesday, October 16, the ‘Don’t Mess with My Man’ singer said that although Wayne, 37, was expecting a son with his ex, Sarah Vivian, 32, at the time, and she had three kids from her marriage to The-Dream, 42, it didn’t bother Nivea because she was going through a very low point in her life.

She went ahead and accepted his proposal of marriage in 2009, although they never ended up getting married.

She soon found herself pregnant with Lil Wayne’s baby. The day her pregnancy was confirmed, was also the day she received a shocking piece of information that Lauren, 34, was also expecting a child by the rapper and was due to deliver the child three months before her.

“I found out the day I was confirmed pregnant with our son that he had another one that should be expected three months ahead of ours,” Nivea said. “I’m like ‘Wow.’ Then my mama died. So yeah, life!”

Nivea decided to end her relationship with the rapper because she said, she was changing as a person. “I ended our relationship while I was carrying our son was because I couldn’t take that,” she said. “I thought I could. I’m a different type of woman. I was like, ‘You know what? You love me? F— it!’ But then I realized that’s not what I wanted. So I let it go.”

What she did not expect was to have not only a cordial relationship with Lauren, but actually build a lasting friendship with her, post-breakup with Lil Wayne.

Nivea felt like she could connect with the Lauren because “were both previous relationships of his in our younger years as well” alluding to the fact that Lauren had been in an on-and-off relationship with Lil Wayne since she was 15 years old.

“It’s still a testament to the type of man he is because all of his baby mothers, we’re all cool with each other. We get now that the children are here, damn it! They’re here now. You can’t take nothing back. So we are the best mothers that I’ve ever seen in a group with the same baby father. I think it’s amazing,” Nivea said.

Lil Wayne New Lil Wayne Song

It’s amazing how much fashion influences hip-hop. And the point here is not only in the popularity of all sorts of directions and their admirers, but in the love of “dislike”. Like an old song: “I love to hate you”.

It’s not a secret at all that the Russian folk rapper has the greatest hatred for southern rap and all sorts of performers with the prefix “Lil”, because they are “small”. Although these hated rappers are often much older than their fellow haters.

What am I leading to? To the terrible enemy of all opponents of “not rap, but the southern ass-shaking”, the potential victim of all those who like to throw mud at the already “dirty” south – Lil Wayne, also known as Birdman Jr., Young Tune, Weezy F. Baby, Weezy Fuckin Baby and many more like.

I advise all haters to close the page and go write on some forum (preferably not a forum site) something like “Damn, what the hell is this Lil ‘Wayne!” and calm down, and we’ll start . ..

On September 27, 1982, in some filthy maternity hospital, or maybe even at home, in a disgustingly criminal and incredibly hot area of New Orleans 17 ward, a baby was born, who was given the name Dwayne Michael. He was the only and completely unwanted child in an already shaky family. Obviously, the baby was the last straw for the real father of the future rap star and the father left the family when Duane was not even a year old. Typical start to a story of incredible success, isn’t it? What can you do, as Louis Logic said: “All those Cinderella stories are true, because it happens.”

In spite of everything, a certain Reginald Carter named Rabbit throughout Dwayne’s childhood tried to somehow raise a family, it was he who replaced the future rapper’s father, and at the same time gave him the presidential surname “Carter”.

Wizzie studied very badly: of course, it’s hard to study at the same time and hang out on the street, in the criminal Orleans, with friends, listening to rap. And then they listened on the streets of this, I’m not afraid of such a word, an exotic city of absolutely amazing and unique performers. It would be worth delving a little into the history of New Orlians music: that completely incompetent “bounce” label that haters of southern rap love so much these days is actually a hip-hop style, whose roots are in Miami Bass Music, and the soul is forever in New Orleans. So, instead of the usual “Big Daddy Kane and Rakim influenced me!”, Duane recalls, “I was influenced by Pimp Daddy and U.N.L.V. (Uptown Niggas Livin Violent)” One can only wonder how well Wayne knew, because at that time neither Pimp Daddy nor U.N.L.V. were not signed to any label, although they were already underground stars (and a little later they were signed to Cash Money, but that’s a different story).

At 93, at the age of ten, Wizzie meets an artist named Lil Slim, signed to a young label Cash Money Records. As is often the case, he amazes him with his rap. We can only guess how a ten-year-old child was able to impress a grown man, but Slim promises to introduce him to the management of his own label – Brian “Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams. This happens six months later.

    FUTURE DADS

It is worth noting that the policy of the Cash Money label was radically different: they tried to take with quality, to bring together the best rappers of New Orleans under one flag, so the CEO of the label was not immediately impressed. As a consolation prize, Baby leaves his card to Dwayne saying “call me when you’re older.”

Wizzie wasted no time and sat on the phone Cash Money, after which the head of the label generously, ala Tyler Durden, said: “Now I see that you really want to be a rapper.” And he added it to the second child on the label – Gangsta D aka Lil Doogie. This is how the group B.G.’z (Baby Gangstaz) appeared, which, however, lasted only a couple of months. However, they managed to release their debut promo EP “True Story” in the same year 93.

An interesting story happened to him: Lil ’Doogie read an order of magnitude more on this EP, due to the fact that he was older than Wayne’a and it just so happened that the name B. G. stuck with him, and Baby D (as Dwayne called himself at the time) was credited as a guest on several tracks when the full True Story album was released.

At that time, Cash Money had an active beef with another New Orleans label – Big Boy (known only for the fact that Mystikal came out of their ranks). Once Mother Wizzie heard the diss of her beloved only son on an enemy office and … forbade him to communicate with Cash Money and wear military clothes (do not forget that the guy was only 11 years old).

But her ban did not last long … Soon Dwayne’s stepfather is killed and the only close person who happened to be nearby was Baby. “I remember how I called him and calmly said just a few words, something like:” Ok, yes he died … “- Wayne will remember much later – Baby took me, put me in his car, and I cried there in sitting, I was in shock … Then he looked into my eyes and said: “Hey nigga, you cry as if you lost your father, what the fuck” and from that day on, my only father became Baby, and we are not each other we will lose.

    BEST LIVING

As time went on, Lil ‘Wayne appeared from time to time on the albums of Cash Money artists under a more familiar name for us, but there were no active projects with his participation. That all changed when in 97 a pivotal decision was made for the label – a group was formed with B.G., Juvenile, Young Turk and Lil ‘Wayne – the Hot Boys, the all-star group, as they were called. Actually, “Hot Boys” is the name of the New Orleans gang of the first half of the twentieth century. Legend has it that when they were finally caught, the city’s crime rate plummeted.

The group’s first album blew up Louisiana, although the fragments did not exceed state boundaries. It sold about 400 thousand copies, which was an incredible amount for an independent label, thanks to which the major Universal drew attention to Cash Money Records. A contract for 30 million was signed, according to which Cash Money Records passed under the wing of this giant.

During this time, Wizzie changed his style significantly. His namesake Jay-Z became his new idol, hence the peculiarities of the reading. On his albums, since 2000, this kind of imitation of Jiga is heard more clearly, which Wayne does not deny.

The next Hot Boys album broke the bank: platinum certificate plus wild popularity, but according to the laws of the genre, the fairy tale ended on time. One by one, the band members left Cash Money, but the comparison with rats fleeing from a drowning ship was inappropriate here.

This ship was kept afloat by a minor Lil ‘Wayne. The beginning of his solo career was marked in 1999, when he was not yet 18 years old. Wayne’s specific reading + Mannie Fresh beats matched perfectly, the first single “The Block Is Hot” blew up as it should, and the album sold millions of copies. Then in 2000 the Wayne + Fresh team consolidated their success with the gold “Lights Out”.

When the hard time came for Cash Money and the artists started to leave, the CEO of the label decided to name the next Wizzie album “500 Degreez” as a sequel to the most successful Cash Money album – Juvenile “400 Degreez”. As expected, the retired Juve was offended. Yes, in earnest!

In anger, he concocted either a bootleg or a mixtape of dubious quality called “600 Degreez”, on which he presented his diss on Lil’Wayne called “A hoe” to the world. The claims are standard: “You didn’t kill anyone, but you have a tear filled, I didn’t see you in the area, you are not a nigga, you are a hole,” and everything in the same spirit. Wizzie commented on this attack calmly: “I have no idea what the diss is, I did not hear it. Maybe there was something, it does not matter to me. I do not forget my friends and, if anything, I am for any of our ex the team will give my life, whether it’s BG, my nigga Turk or the same Juve. ”

Of course, this surprised the hip-hop public a lot, especially those who remembered how smartly Wizzy let go of Big Boy Records, which he had never personally touched.
Moreover, on his next album, The Carter, there was a song “I Miss My Dawgs” dedicated to the escaped Juvenile, Turk and B. G., and there were no threats on this track.

By the way, this album (“The Carter”) is interesting at least by the fact that this is the first album of an adult Wayne, his lyrics have become deeper, the themes are more extensive … and his pride has increased: in the very first single he declares “I’m cash money Makaveli, ya ain’t ready … The best rapper alive since the best rapper retired “.

    PRESIDENT CARTER-3

Time, as we have already noted, passed, performers came and went to Cash Money, one thing remained unchanged – Lil ‘Wayne and Baby, who called each other relatives. Therefore, again, like snow on his head, the statement made by Wayne himself in 2005, that he leaves the label, where he spent more than half of his life, and goes to Def Jam to beloved Jiga. True, in the end, the statement did not justify itself and Wizzie stayed on Cash Money, but he himself commented: “In fact, I was really going to Jay-Z.But the situation at Cash Money changed for the better, and I stayed, “which did not exclude the possibility of leaving. Baby said:” Wayne was a part of the label, he will always remain with her. We are family! “.

There are many rumors that Wayne is under some influence of Baby and does everything that the owner orders him to do, but authoritative publications prefer to attribute this to paranoid fiction, so we will do the same.

Anyway, Wizzy is always surrounded by an amazing amount of rumors. For example, when Young Jeezy left Boyz N Da Hood and the band was looking for a fourth member, everyone vied with Trick Daddy and Wayne.

Despite the fact that Wizzie has a 6-year-old daughter from his own stylist, he is still a single man, but with a girl, and what a one! Wayne’s girlfriend is none other than the baddest bitch Trina from Miami. Their union was also just a rumor for a long time and in interviews they stated that they were “just friends”, but after the joint song “Don’t Trip” in an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, Trina admitted that they had an affair and giggled foolishly for a long time. Later, in an interview with VIBE magazine, she said that they “are both incredibly happy and more than we, the readers, do not need to know anything.” Wizzy confined himself to being mean “we fucking understand each other because we’re both rappers.” So that’s it.

By mid-2005 B.G. and Juve finally fell out with Lil ‘Wayne, however, all you can hear about them from Carter is a short “Fuck” in another interview. He did not suit any disses or any actions like G-Unot. The fuck-list was eventually joined by Mannie Fresh, a former Cash Money beatmaker who in turn “left the boat.”After his departure from the label, Wizzie was elevated to the rank of “President of Cash Money Records”.

What this title gives is a mystery to this day, because the owners of the label are still the Williams brothers. Wayne himself answers the question what kind of position this is: “I work more creatively. Answering thousands of questions” Wayne, what do you think about this? Wayne, what should we do? “

His latest album, “The Carter II”, sold a million copies and was critically named “Best Cash Money album ever”, and Wayne himself was named one of the best lyricists of the south.

At the moment he is head over heels in business: in addition to the new solo album “The Carter III” scheduled for 2007, Wizzie is also working on a joint album with Baby, the working title of which “Like Father, Like Son” again emphasizes their “relationship” … In addition, another interesting project is being prepared – the album “I Can’t Feel My Face” with “diplomat” Juelz Santana, which was initially conceived as a mixtape, but now it will apparently be released as a full-length album.

In addition, rumors circulated (and continues to circulate) about the revival of Hot Boyz: allegedly B.G., Juvenile and Mannie Fresh are ready to record a new album, provided that it doesn’t include the hated Baby. Wayne stands up for the “father” and refuses.

Hurricane Katrina forced the New Orleans star along with “daddy” Baby to move to their beloved Trinochka in Miami, and as Wizzie himself sings on the track for DJ Khaled’s album, “Until the rebuild New Orleans that’s where I stay (until New Orleans is rebuilt, I stay here in Miami) “.

This is the story of a boy from the ghetto, who was not allowed by his mother to use foul language and wear paramilitary clothes … a real American dream! But this is just the beginning!

At that time, Cash Money had an active beef with another New Orleans label – Big Boy (known only by the fact that Mystikal came out of their ranks). Once Vizzi’s mother heard her beloved only son’s diss on an enemy office and … forbade him to communicate with Cash Money and wear military clothes (do not forget that the guy was only 11 years old).

But her ban did not last long . .. Soon, Duane’s stepfather is killed, and the only person who happened to be nearby was Baby. “I remember how I called him and calmly said just a few words, something like:“ Ok, yes he died … ”- Wayne will remember much later, – Baby took me, put me in his car, and I cried there on back seat, I was in shock … Then he looked into my eyes and said: “Hey nigga, you cry as if you lost your father, what the fuck”, and from that day on, my only father became Baby, and we are friends we will not lose a friend. “

    BEST LIVING

As time went on, Wizzie (already under the more familiar name for us Lil ‘Wayne) appeared from time to time on the albums of Cash Money artists, but there were no active projects with his participation.

On his albums, since 2000, this kind of imitation of Jigga is heard more clearly, which Wayne does not deny.

The next Hot Boys album broke the bank: platinum certificate plus wild popularity, but according to the laws of the genre, the fairy tale ended on time. One by one, the band members left Cash Money, but the comparison with rats fleeing from a drowning ship was inappropriate here.

Kept this ship afloat by a minor Lil ‘Wayne. The beginning of his solo career was marked in 1999, when he was not yet 18 years old. Wayne’s specific reading + Mannie Fresh beats went well, the first single “Tha Block Is Hot” blew up as it should, and the album sold millions of copies. Then in 2000 the Wayne + Fresh team consolidated their success with the gold Lights Out.

When the hard time for Cash Money came and the artists started to leave, the CEO of the label decided to name the next Wizzie album “500 Degreez” as a sequel to the most successful Cash Money album – Juvenile “400 Degreez”. As expected, the retired Juve was offended. Yes, in earnest!

In anger, he hastily concocted either a bootleg or a mixtape of dubious quality called “600 Degreez”, on which he presented his diss on Lil’Wayne called “A Hoe” to the world. The claims are standard: “You didn’t kill anyone, but you have a tear filled, I didn’t see you in the area, you’re not a nigga, you’re a hole,” and everything in the same spirit. Wizzie commented on this attack calmly: “I have no idea what the diss is, I didn’t hear it. Maybe there was something, it doesn’t matter to me. I do not forget my own people and, if anything, I will give my life for any of our former team, be it B.G., my nigga Turk or the same Juve. ”

Of course, this surprised the hip-hop public a lot, especially those who remembered how smartly Weezy let down Big Boy Records, which he personally never touched. Moreover, on his next album Tha Carter there was a song “I Miss My Dawgs” dedicated to the escaped Juvenile, Turk and B.G., and there were no threats on this track.

By the way, this album (“The Carter”) is interesting at least because this is the first album of an adult Wayne, his lyrics have become deeper, the themes are more extensive … and his pride has increased: in the first single he declares “I’m cash money Makaveli , ya ain’t ready … The best rapper alive since the best rapper retired ) “.

    PRESIDENT CARTER # 3

Time, as we have already noted, passed, performers came and went to Cash Money, one thing remained unchanged – Lil ‘Wayne and Baby, who called each other relatives. Therefore, again, like snow on his head, the statement made by Wayne himself in 2005, that he was leaving the label, where he spent more than half of his life, and moved to Def Jam to his beloved Jigga, fell on his head. True, in the end, the statement did not justify itself and Wizzie stayed on Cash Money, but he himself commented: “In fact, I was really going to Jay-Z.But the state of affairs at Cash Money changed for the better, and I stayed, ”which did not exclude the possibility of leaving at all. Baby said: “Wayne was part of the label, and he will always remain with her. We are Family!”.

There are many rumors that Wayne is under some influence of Baby and does everything that the owner orders him to do, but authoritative publications prefer to attribute this to paranoid fiction, so we will do the same.

Despite the fact that Wizzie has a 6-year-old daughter from his own stylist, he is still a single man, but his credibility is added by the fact that he constantly has affairs with the most beautiful girls, and what kind! Wayne’s girlfriend was once none other than the da baddest bitch, Trina from Miami. Their union was also just a rumor for a long time and in interviews they stated that they were “just friends”, but after the joint song “Don’t Trip” in an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, Trina admitted that they had an affair and giggled foolishly for a long time. Later, in an interview with Vibe magazine, she said that they are “both incredibly happy and more than we, the readers, do not need to know anything.” Weezy confined himself to the mean “we fucking understand each other because we are both rappers.” True, Eden did not last so long, and soon Lauren London, a famous model and courtesan, fell into the insidious networks of Wizzie, who had already grown the famous dreadlocks.A drug addict with an eternal glass in his hand charmed the girl so much that she flew in an instant. In September 2009, she gave birth to a new, now third, son of Carter. And soon the fourth arrived, whose mother is the singer Nivea. Our hero, Duane Michael Carter, turned out to be such a womanizer.

By the way, about the rapper’s name. In interviews, the artist often admitted that he asks people to call him Wayne, without the “d” at the beginning. “I dropped the d because my father is still alive and I don’t want to be a junior. I prefer the name Wayne.»

By mid-2005 B.G. and Juve finally fell out with Lil ‘Wayne, however, all you can hear about them from Carter is a short “F ** k” in another interview. He did not suit any disses or any actions like G-Unot. The f ** k-list was eventually joined by Mannie Fresh, a former Cash Money beatmaker who in turn left the boat. After he left the label, Wizzie was elevated to the rank of “President of Cash Money Records”.

What this title gives is a mystery to this day, because the owners of the label are still the Williams brothers. But it all becomes clear when Wayne Carter is announced as president of Cash Money’s new division, Young Money Records. “Finally I got complete freedom, and nothing the hell bothers me now,” grinning teeth with joy, Wizzie says.

His 2005 album “Tha Carter II” sold a million copies and received the title of “Best Cash Money album ever” by critics, and Wayne himself was named one of the best lyricists of the south.

    NEW PROJECTS, NEW CARES

In 2006 he is also up to his ears in business: at first Wizzie is working on a joint album with Baby aka Birdman, the title of which “Like Father, Like Son” again emphasizes their “relationship”.In addition, another interesting project went into development – the album “I Can’t Feel My Face” with the “diplomat” Juelz Santana, which was initially conceived as a mixtape, but should be released as a full-length album.

In addition, there were a lot of rumors about the revival of Hot Boyz: supposedly B.G., Juvenile and Mannie Fresh are ready to record a new album, but on condition that it does not contain the hated Baby. Wayne seems to be behind the mountain stepfather. But there is no fire without smoke. The old mob seems to have crawled to the studio and are recording a new album. The release is scheduled for 2010.

For 2008, the release of “Tha Carter III” was planned. The fate of this miserable album is amazing. For almost all of 2007, it was postponed from one date to another. Finally, the fans breathed freely: Cash Money announced that the final release was set – the beginning of summer 2008. And then, a new scandal: a few days before the premiere, the finished album was leaked to the Internet. And it’s all the fault of Wayne’s “innocent” phrase in an interview with Foundation magazine: “F * ck all mixtape deejays.”The angry DJs immediately took revenge on the rapper. But this action did not suffer serious losses in sales, and all thanks to loyal fans, who in the first week presented their idol with the first million copies sold. This bar hasn’t been hit by any rapper since 50 Cent launched his mega-successful “The Massacre” in March 2005. As a result – 3X platinum and a huge success of the tour.

2009 Wizzy considers the happiest and most fruitful year for the label. “We’ve signed a lot of new artists, from Bow Wow to brand new entertainer Drake.I don’t want to know what happened between Bow Wow and Jermaine, but he’s my dude now. And Drake – we found him in Canada, and believe me, he has a great future! Now we are working on several albums at once. Baby, Jay Sean and Kevin Rudolf have already shot up new items. Drake and I are on the move. Plus a compilation from my label. All OK.”

But now, reviewing the news blogs, one can disappoint Wizzie: the court sentenced the rapper to a year in prison for illegal possession of weapons. And although the release date for the seventh album has already been set – February 1, 2010 – it is possible that you will have to wait. But our hero hopes that he can do without extremes, and we must also work in the studio.

On September 27, 1982, in some filthy maternity hospital, or maybe even at home, in the disgustingly criminal and incredibly hot area “17 ward”, a baby was born, who was given the name Dwayne Michael Carter (Dwayne Michael Carter). He was the only and completely unwanted child in an already shaky family. Obviously, the baby was the last straw for the real father of the future rap star and the father left the family when Duane was not even a year old.Typical start to a story of incredible success, isn’t it? What can you do, as Louis Logic said: “All those Cinderella stories are true, because it happens.

In spite of everything, a Reginald Carter named Rabbit throughout Dwayne’s childhood tried to somehow raise a family, it was he who replaced the future rapper’s father, and at the same time gave him the presidential surname “Carter”.

Wizzie studied very badly: of course, it’s hard to both study and hang out on the street, in the criminal Orleans, with friends, listening to rap.And then they listened on the streets of this, there is no other word for it, an exotic city of absolutely amazing and unique performers. Here it would be worth delving into the history of New Orleans music: that completely incompetent “bounce” label that haters of southern rap love so much these days is actually a hip-hop style, whose roots are in Miami Bass Music, and the soul is forever in New Orleans. So, instead of the usual “I was influenced by Big Daddy Kane and Rakim!”, Dwayne recalls: “I was influenced by Pimp Daddy and U.N.L.V. (Uptown Niggas Livin Violent) “. One can only wonder how well Wayne knew, because at that time neither Pimp Daddy nor U. N.L.V. were not signed to any label, although they were already underground stars (and a little later they were signed to Cash Money, but that’s a different story.

    NEW DAD

At 93, at the age of ten, Wizzie meets a signed on Cash Money Records by an artist named Lil Slim who, as is often the case, amazes him with his rapping. We can only guess how a ten-year-old child could impress a grown man, but Slim promises to introduce him to the management of his own label – Brian “Baby” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams. This happens six months later.

It is worth noting that the policy of the Cash Money label was radically different: they tried to take with quality, to bring together the best rappers in New Orleans under one flag, so the CEO of the label was not immediately impressed. As a consolation prize, Baby leaves Dwayne his business card, saying “call me when you’re older.”

Wizzie wasted no time and got on the phone Cash Money, after which the head of the label generously, ala Tyler Durden, said: “Now I see that you really want to be a rapper. ” And he added it to the second child on the label – Gangsta D aka Lil Doogie. This is how the group B.G.’z (Baby Gangstaz) appeared, which, however, lasted only a couple of months. However, they managed to release their debut promo EP “True Story” in the same year 93.

An interesting story happened to him: Lil ’Doogie read an order of magnitude more on this EP, due to the fact that he was older than Wayne’a and it just so happened that the name B.G. stuck with him, and Baby D (as Dwayne called himself at the time) was credited as a guest on several tracks when the full True Story album was released.

Lil Wayne is perhaps one of the most successful and popular rappers to ever enter the American scene. The biography of this man is a classic success story of a dark-skinned guy from a dysfunctional family, who, despite everything, “made his way” and proved to the world that he is talented and deserves more.

    Childhood and adolescence

The real name of the performer is Duane Michael Carter Jr. The future idol of millions was born on September 27, 1982 in the Holly Grove area of New Orleans. Dwayne’s mother at that time was barely 19 years old, the girl worked as a cook. Two years later, the boy’s father, Duane Carter Sr., left the family, leaving his former lover with a young son in her arms and practically without a livelihood.

This act forever predetermined Duane’s attitude towards him: the rapper changed his own name at the first opportunity, not wanting to be anything like this person. Removing the first letter, the young man received the name Wayne, under which he became famous.

From early childhood Wayne attracted the attention of teachers, on the one hand, giftedness and artistry, on the other – disgusting behavior and constant pranks. Already in primary school, the boy began to write poetry. In addition, Wayne participated in all school performances and even studied in a theater group.

In 1991, Wayne met Brian Williams, who later became known as Birdman. He drew attention to the talented boy and in 1995 helped to record the first album. 11-year-old Wayne prepared this disc in a duet with another teenager – 14-year-old Christopher Dorsey, known as B. G.

The first success inspired Wayne Carter so much that after a couple of years the young man left school to devote all his time and efforts to a musical career.

    Music

The beginning of Wayne Carter’s serious creative work can be considered the album “Get It How U Live”, recorded with Terius Gray and Tab Wedgel Jr.The band was named “Hot Boys” and instantly gained popularity among rap music lovers. In 1999, “Hot Boys” delighted the audience with their second disc, called “Guerilla Warfare”.

The Block Is Hot album is considered to be Carter’s first independent creation, although some of the songs from this disc were also performed with the Hot Boys. The album surpassed Wayne’s previous records in popularity, reaching platinum status in its first week of release. He also earned Carter a Best New Artist nomination.

The year 2000 is marked for the musician with the appearance of his second solo album, called “Lights Out”. This disc was inferior in popularity to the previous one, but was awarded the title of “gold” according to many music channels and publications. And two years later, Lil Wayne presented to the public the third disc – “500 Degrees”, which, unfortunately, did not win the audience’s love.

However, the most important in the creative biography of Lil Wayne were the records from the “The Carter” series.Their special atmosphere, the unique manner of Carter’s recitative and the constant quality of the recording have presented the musician with fans all over the world.

The first album from this collection – “The Carter” – was released in 2004. According to some media estimates, the disc has sold over a million copies, and these are only legal copies. Months of the first lines of all kinds of charts and charts raised Lil Wayne’s popularity to new heights.

Deciding to forge the iron while it is hot, in early 2005 Lil Wayne released the album “The Carter II”, the title track from which was widely heard throughout the United States for a long time. The album itself sold three hundred thousand copies, falling short of the success of the previous one. The musician did not forget about other projects: in 2006, Carter released a joint disc with Birdman, which the rappers called “Like Father, Like Son”.

But with the third album from the series “The Carter” there were problems. Shortly before the announced release, several compositions were leaked to the Web. Lil Wayne announced to fans that he was postponing the release of the disc, and would release the released songs in a separate album, supplementing them with four more tracks.

As a result, “The Carter III” appeared only in 2008. It is noteworthy that the scandal with the songs posted on the Internet benefited the disc: in the first week this album was bought by more than a million people. Subsequently, the album went three times platinum and even broke the record of the artist 50 Cent with his disc “The Masscare”, which previously bore the “title” of the most commercially successful rap album.

The next album in this series was released in 2011. The fact is that the recording of the tracks and the release itself were constantly postponed either because of the performer’s health condition, or because of his constant problems with the law.

Further records of Lil Wayne also turned out to be “problematic”: the musician managed to ruin his relationship with his record company, go to prison, free himself, undergo a serious operation on his teeth, star in a couple of films and release a dozen singles, later included in various albums. However, even the constant disruptions to the promised deadlines did not make Lil Wayne’s fans turn their backs on the idol.

    Personal life

The rapper’s personal life was no less stormy than his musical career. The musician’s first wife was a school friend named Anthony Johnson. The woman gave Lil Wayne her first daughter. The girl was named Regina. Unfortunately, this marriage broke up in 2006.

Two years later, in 2008, the man had a son, Duane. Lil Wayne’s new beloved Sarah Vivan became the mother of the baby. However, Carter did not stay with this girl for long. The next chosen one of the rapper was the beautiful model Lauren London, who gave the musician a son, Cameron. In the same 2009, the fourth child of Lil Wayne was born – the boy Neil, whose mother was the singer Nivea.

In 2014, fans learned about Lil Wayne’s new novel. This time the popular singer and actress Christina Milian became the passion of the charismatic musician (by the way, Carter’s height is 1.65 m). But this girl did not manage to take possession of the rapper’s heart for a long time. A year later, the couple announced the breakup.

After that, Lil Wayne was often credited with relationships with various models and singers, including with, but there is no confirmed information on this yet.

    Lil Wayne is now

Now, unfortunately for fans, the attention of the music community is not focused on the work of Lil Wayne, but on the state of health of the musician. The press discusses not the clips and photos of the singer at all, but the last hospitalization: in the fall of 2017, Carter was hospitalized after an epileptic seizure. Let’s remind: this is not the first case of the manifestation of the disease. A year earlier, Lil Wayne had already received treatment for epilepsy.

Therefore, Instagram and other social networks are full of posts with condolences from fans and wishes for Lil Wayne to get back to music as soon as possible.

Legendary career, unique style, unique flow, scandalous fame, millions of albums sold all over the world, the self-proclaimed title of “greatest rapper alive” – all this is about one person.Lil Wayne is undoubtedly one of the brightest artists of his generation and has been delighting us with her music for two decades. Wayne Carter began his career in rap at the age of 9, so by the age of 35, the musician’s catalog contains an incredible number of songs. 11 solo albums, several collaborations with other artists, more than 2 dozen mixtapes and hundreds of joint tracks on other people’s releases – there is a lot of cool material, so there are also enough opinions among his fans about the best songs of Mr. Carter. We do not pretend to name your favorite works. Instead, we offer a mixtape of truly iconic songs from Wayne’s career.

    Lil Wayne Music Albums

As mentioned earlier, Lil Wayne has released 11 solo albums, as well as several collaborations (in particular with Birdman and 2 Chainz). And, of course, we shouldn’t forget about the legendary group “Hot Boys”, in which Wizzie began his long career and took part in the recording of two LPs.

But we are still more interested in the independent work of Lil Wayne. The first of them was recorded back in 1999, and the last – in 2015. Among them were both true masterpieces and creations, to put it mildly, causing doubts among the audience. To begin with, we will highlight the most successful, in our opinion, Wayne Carter’s albums.

The series of albums “Tha Carter” is undoubtedly considered the most successful creative period in the life of Lil Weezy. The first part was released in 2004 and marked the stage of the rapper’s noticeable maturation.Compared to the previous three albums released in my early teens, “Tha Carter” sounds closer to what we are used to hearing from Wayne. On it he noted such hits as “Go DJ”, “This Is The Carter”, “Bring It Back”. Almost all tracks were produced by staff beatmaker Cash Money Mannie Fresh. The album received mostly positive reviews from critics and was certified gold by the RIAA.

    • “Tha Carter II” 2005

“Tha Carter II” was released in 2005 and went platinum. It is considered by many to be the best Wizzie album and includes such cool tracks as “Fireman”, “Tha Mobb”, “Best Rapper Alive”, “Hustler Musik”, “Shooter” and others. It is on the cover of “Tha Carter II” that “the best rapper alive today” appears for the first time in the now familiar form – in dark glasses and with dreadlocks. The album became one of the best examples of southern rap of the 2000s, and if someone still doubted Lil Wayne’s potential, then after the second part of “Carter” these doubts were completely dispelled.

    • “Like Father, Like Son”, 2006

Everyone probably knows the story of Lil Wayne and Birdman: the latter, having heard the freestyle of 9-year-old Wayne Carter, signed it to his label “Cash Money” and after that became practically a father to the boy. Despite the fact that in recent years their relationship has finally deteriorated, together they experienced great times. In 2006, “dad and son” teamed up and recorded a joint album with the eloquent title “Like Father Like Son”.This was the beginning of the “golden era” for Cash Money. The release received mostly positive reviews from critics in the United States. Although some publications noted that it was aimed more at making money, this did not stop the New Orleans duo from recording such great songs as “Stuntin Like My Daddy”, “Leather So Soft”, “You Ain`t Know”, “Cali Dro ” and others. The album received “gold” and is still perceived by Cash Money fans as a nostalgic reminder of the days when “everything was fine in the family.”

    • “Tha Carter III”, 2008

If you ask a passer-by on the street to name a Lil Wayne track, he will 90% tell you a song from the album “Tha Carter III”. This creation by Wizzie is rightfully considered a classic and deserves the highest praise. Almost all critics and fans of rap music agree that it was in 2008 that he reached the peak of his career (although of course, what the hell is not kidding, if “Tha Carter V” is released it may still change). The third “Carter” differs from the previous works of Lil Wayne both in the variety of themes that are touched upon by the artist and in the novelty of the production. The music was created by David Banner, The Alchemist, Cool & Dre, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Bangladesh and others. It was a step away from the typical southern rap. As it turned out, the step is 100% correct. The album went triple platinum and cemented Wayne’s place among the most influential and distinctive rap stars of his era.

Virtually every song on “Tha Carter III” claims to be a masterpiece. And yet the most famous are probably “A Milli”, “Lollipop”, “Mrs. Officer ”and“ Mr. Carter ”.

    • “Tha Carter IV”, 2011

This album by Wayne caused controversial emotions among most critics and listeners. It was postponed for a long time due to the fact that the rapper was serving time in prison, rewritten several times and was accompanied by not the best mood of Wizzie. The consequence of this was a more depressing mood of the texts. According to many, it was after “Tha Carter IV” that Lil Wayne’s career went downhill. The disc contains many big names (as, in general, practically all the previous albums), but is significantly inferior to the third part of “Carter”. Guest participation included Cory Gunz, Rick Ross, Tech N9ne, Nas, Jadakiss, Drake and many others. Although not Wizzie’s strongest album, it also contains some very powerful songs. The most notable ones are “6 Foot 7 Foot”, “She Will”, “John”, “How To Love”.

“Tha Carter IV” went double platinum and showed that even if Lil Wayne is not in his best shape, his album is still cooler than 90% of rap albums in the mainstream.

    Other Lil Wayne albums

Above we have named the most successful (in our opinion) Lil Wayne records. But his musical legacy includes other, not so bright albums. Let’s talk about them briefly.

Wizzie’s first solo works were released in 1999 and 2000. Albums “Tha Block Is Hot” and “Lights Out” are notable for their youthful immaturity and minimal presence of profanity (which sounds somewhat surprising given the subsequent work of Wayne Carter).Colleagues from the Hot Boys took part in the recording, and Mannie Fresh, the then-irreplaceable beatmaker of Cash Money, was responsible for the production. These works introduced the young rapper to the general public and showed that in the future he has the potential to become a very interesting artist.

“500 Degreez” – This album by Wayne was recorded and released in 2002 – troubled times for his label. At that time, the main “moneymakers” of Cash Money – the Hot Boys group disbanded due to the Juvenile riot. Naturally, Lil Wayne stayed with Birdman and company.

Without exaggeration, this work of his can be called one of the most “empty”, not original, and to be honest – the most unsuccessful in general. Despite some good songs like “Look At Me”, “Bloodline” and “Young`N`Blues”, it sounds like a go-through album for southern rap at the time.

We also didn’t mention “Rebirth”. This creation Lil Wayne released in 2010 and by all accounts he did it in vain. Apparently our hero got bored and he decided to play a little rock star.It turned out to be frankly weak, because Vizzi’s “autotuned” vocal abilities were not enough to sing tolerably well, and the music did not differ in originality for such a multifaceted style as rock. This is by far the worst Carter album of his entire career, notable for the fact that it has a bright joint with Eminem – perhaps the only bright spot in the entire playlist.

In 2011 and 2013, Wayne had two albums in the “I`m Not A Human Being” series. The first part was received warmly by critics and fans.Although the album was inferior to the “Carters”, it was much better than “Rebirth” and earned its “gold” certificate. The main single from the album was the song “Right Above It” with Drake.

The second part did not receive such approving criticism and although it also earned its “gold”, it was clear that Wayne’s past merits played into the hands of Wayne. The album sold significantly worse than its predecessors and marked the beginning of a real “black” streak in the career of the once main star of the South.

In 2015, Lil Wayne struck a deal with Jay-Z and released the album “Free Weezy Album” exclusively for Jay’s Tidal streaming service. The work was released due to another delay in “Tha Carter V”. But at the same time, both American music experts and fans around the world positively assessed the work done by the rapper. The former noted that “Wayne sounded confident for the first time after“ Tha Carter III ”and was more like himself of the old sample”, the latter simply enjoyed songs such as “Glory”, “My Heart Races On”, “London Roads”, “Psycho ” and others. “FWA” has been streamed over 10 million times in its first week on Tidal.
