Aswani Bal

In 3 words describe your pattern design style?
Feminine, pretty, painterly

What is your work & design process?
I always have the moodboard in my head and start with photoshop and make around 5 designs in a stretch or until I’m satified. And this mood board depends on the latest trends or it will be just an image or something that had inspired me.  At times I love hand-painting loose florals and textures and how they turn out totally depends on my mood.

Where do you find your design inspiration?

Sometimes a tiny flower or a simple leaf inspires my design while mostly I follow trend forecasts for making fashion prints. I even get inspired by designs I’d made earlier. I also like to research on traditional crafts and arts by different artists from all around the world and use it for my prints. I also try to learn techniques and effects  from other artists and designers.

What advice would you give to new designers?
Learn and explore with all the opportunities and time you have.

Veneta Danailova

In 3 words describe your pattern design style?
Trendy, vibrant and diverse

What is your work & design process?
My work process begins with getting acquainted in advance with the latest fashion trends.I sketch, draw and develop my ideas. Finally, I finish with the appropriate colors for the season.

Where do you find your design inspiration?
I find design inspiration from various sources – from nature and my travels, from art and listening to music.I am inspired by plants and flowers by trying to reproduce them.

What advice would you give to new designers?
I would recommend new designers to do what they love and not be afraid to experiment.

Fall 2021 Fashion Trends

Designers worked in exceedingly unusual circumstances, in a vacuum, catering to an audience whose lives are forever changed—and ultimately showed their collections virtually or in very intimate settings. And yet, creativity reigned. For fall 2021, the collections fell in line with the times by embracing that new outdoor après-ski life, prepping for a new-wave Roaring ’20s, finding stability in LBDs, and keeping comfort key in elevated knitwear. See what’s in store for next season in 13 trend stories and shop key piece to add to your wardrobe now.

There’s a Saint Laurent dress we’ll be dreaming about until it makes its way home to us and a Bottega Veneta puffer coat we simply can’t enter colder weather without.

She’s a Rich Girl

What do you get when you layer sequins on sequins on sequins? The kind of 1920s-meets-1980s opulence that just puts a girl in a good mood. The look is glimmering but covered up (these aren’t club dresses; they’re a statement on a mood)—think: long trousers, high necks, jackets, and voluminous dresses. Dries Van Noten, Paco Rabanne, Valentino, Loewe, and more skipped the minimalism in favor of something optimistic and grand with a clear message: Let your light shine, ladies, the future is looking bright.

Pictured from top to bottom: Loewe, Connor Ives, Giorgio Armani, Prabal Gurung, Dolce & Gabbana, Carolina Herrera, Erdem, Isabel Marant, Prada, Valentino, Markarian, Givenchy, and Alberta Ferretti.

Sequined Velvet Midi Dress

This dress was made for making an entrance at every fall and winter event you have.

Sorry in advance for showing you up, brides.

A Little Off Color

Saturated shades have entered the conversation. The color play is off-kilter, slightly skewed, and unexpected—a little like life itself. It’s mustard meets lemon at Jil Sander, bubblegum pink and marigold at Miu Miu, rust and lavender at Patou—complementary and secondary hues of the color wheel all mixed up and topsy-turvy. All the better to make you look twice.

Pictured from top to bottom: Jil Sander, Oscar de la Renta, Loewe, Akris, Prada, JW Anderson, Roksanda, JW Anderson, Miu Miu, Alberta Ferretti, Patou, and Tory Burch.

Lena Faux Leather Midi Skirt

Pair this with lavender and never look back.

Tailored on Tailored

There’s no other way to say it: The look in tailoring now is nothing short of smart. Designers aren’t going halfway—button-downs are layered under vests, over turtlenecks, under jackets, under long coats, over trousers—and sometimes belted and finished with a tie. These ensembles are paired not with pumps or sneakers, but loafers and boyish shoes. In other words, this isn’t about subverting classic pieces; it’s a literal take. Tory Burch, The Row, Prada, and Peter Do are leading the charge for ladies who like to layer their loose tailoring—and then layer it some more.

Pictured from top to bottom: Peter Do, The Row, Wales Bonner, Tory Burch, Nehera, Gucci, Valentino, Lemaire, Prada, Giada, Giulvia Heritage, and Brunello Cucinelli.

Pinstriped Wool Vest

Layer this over a button-down, under a blazer, with jeans, or coordinating trousers. It will quickly become the wardrobe MVP you never knew you needed.

Knit Wits

If any lesson was learned from the year 2020, it’s that when given the option, people will choose comfort—every time. Let them eat cake! Or rather, let them never have to button a button again and outfit them in luxe knitwear in the form of skirts, maxi dresses, and two-piece sets. Cozy need not mean lacking polish in the deft hands of Gabriela Hearst, Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler, all of which are offering cashmeres and wools in body-aware silhouettes that are endlessly flattering and fit for an evening in or out.

Pictured from top to bottom: Rick Owens, Proenza Schouler, Ulla Johnson, Zanni, Thakoon, Victor Glemaud, Jonathan Simkhai, Gabriela Hearst, Altuzarra, Loro Piana, Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Chloe, and Adam Lippes.

Striped Cashmere Maxi Dress

Chic but cozy is our ideal intersection.

Après-Ski, Please

Keep your après-ski in check with Fair Isle knits that just beg for a weekend in Aspen or Gstaad. Cropped or cardi, in classic shades or bright pinks and reds, these cozy knits pack a visual punch.

It’s statement sweater dressing for living that ski-in/ski-out life. Perhaps it’s a nod to the intrinsic nature of socially distant slopes, or an embrace of a max exodus to the country. However you twist it, according to Miu Miu, Chanel, Balenciaga, and Junya Watanabe, next season is all about that cozy ski sweater life.

Pictured from top to bottom: Rag & Bone (First row), Molly Goddard, Junya Watanabe, MM6, Etro, Balenciaga, Paco Rabanne, Dsquared2, Rentrayage, Chanel, and Vivienne Westwood.

Wool-blend sweater

While truly apres ski appropriate, it will look equally good on teh city streets.

Roaring ’20s Redux

For those who subscribe to the idea of a new Roaring ’20s on the horizon, you’ll be perfectly outfitted for the occasion. Flapper dresses abound in classically executed silks and lace from Khaite and Kwaidan Editions. More modern iterations can be found at Kim Jones’s new Fendi and Gabriela Hearst’s new Chloé. Layered under long coats at Miu Miu and Paco Rabanne, or with a grunge-tinged ’90s take at Coach, these nightie-inspired dresses are made for the nightlife.

Pictured from top to bottom: Atlein, Miu Miu, Jil Sander, Coach, Dries Van Noten, Khaite, Paco Rabanne, Kwaiden Editions, Judy Turner, Vaquera, Fendi, and Chloe.

Silk-blend slip dress

A classic silhouette that feels utterly current. We love it in this subdued shade.

Puff, Puff, Pass

The puffer coat is only gaining momentum. In bold, brash colors like deep purple at Marni or red leopard at Dolce & Gabbana, these are not the classic black puffers you’ve been sporting. They’re high-fashion down pieces designed to make an entrance—in neutral extra-long versions at Rick Owens or on a Victoriana gown at Thom Browne—you’ll have your pick and stay extra warm all season long.

Pictured from top to bottom: Eckhaus Latta, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford, Miu Miu, Tod’s, Balenciaga, Ottolinger, Marni, Khaite, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Rick Owens, and Thom Browne.

Quilted cotton down puffer coat

Somehow very warm and very cool at the same time.

Crop Rotation

And the new silhouette turning all the heads comes by way of cropped jackets and tops. These elegant, midriff-baring looks are far from the mini tees of your youth. Sophisticated and chic on a fuchsia pantsuit at Chanel or a menswear look with a twist at Peter Do, and on an utterly ladylike two-piece set at Emilia Wickstead, these short takes are for posh girls only.

Pictured from top to bottom: Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Fashion East, Fendi, Vetements, Emilia Wickstead, Peter Do, and Laquan Smith.

Kalimba Cropped Checked Wool-Blend Jacket

A silhouette that feels entirely fresh—with a dash of plaid for bonus points.

Make It Midi

A long-standing theory in fashion: High hemlines indicate economic prosperity, while long styles convey downturns. In the precarious time that was 2020, it was overwhelmingly the latter. Here to demonstrate this credo are the bevy of midi skirts that dominated the look books and virtual presentations for the fall 2021 season. They are box-pleated at Christian Dior, knife-pleated at Erdem, A-lined at The Row, and flowy at Partow—but all reach midway between the knee and ankle.

Pictured from top to bottom: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Partow, Max Mara, The Row, Rokh, Erdem, Chopova Lowena, Christian Dior, Thebe Magugu, and Loro Piana.

High-rise cotton midi skirt

The perfect work skirt at a length we can get behind.

Keep it Cozy

The optimal word to describe fashion in the past year was cozy. Designers are continuing down this path for fall 2021, but not in the way you would initially think—read: no sweats here. From a cream-colored wool jacket at Chanel to a tan shearling-lined coat at Chloé to a fuzzy hoodie at Christian Dior, our favorite labels have refined these comfy styles, bringing couture cuts to their designs. The fabrics may indeed be plush and the sizes large, but the silhouettes are much more tapered than what is normally expected of winterwear. Indeed, cozy never looked so good.

Pictured from top to bottom: Chloe, Isabel Marant, Erdem, Chanel, Christian Dior, Coach, Akris, Vetements, Thom Browne, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton.

Shearling Ankle Boots

The verdict is in: cozy will never be out of style.

The Suit Coat

The trusted suit has gotten a revamp. Traditionally, the style is composed of a blazer-and-trouser combo; blazer and skirts have also become commonplace. For fall 2021, designers introduced something new into the fold: coats. Instead of fitted jackets, Givenchy, Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, and more showcased palazzo, paper-bag-waist, flared, or cropped trousers all with elongated toppers. It’s a look that is meant to be worn and fully appreciated outdoors, which we welcome with open arms now that vaccination centers are doing their thing.

Pictured from top to bottom: A Potts, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Zimmerman, Jason Wu, Hermes, Marine Serre, The Row, Proenza Schouler, Balmain, Givenchy, and Chanel.

Double-Breasted Camel Coat

We don’t requite a coat to command respect—but this one couldn’t hurt.

Finding Patterns

The future is bright, bold, and primed for attracting attention. Here to herald this message are fashion designers. From Thebe Magugu to Simone Rocha to Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton, many presented collections with wild, wonderful prints. Magugu, for example, referenced mysticism in the pattern of a sleek suit; Ghesquière brought the Louvre’s paintings to life; and Rocha went for Baroque with romantic florals. Come fall, we are going to break free from gray and neutral tones, and bring some vibrancy into our lives.

Pictured from top to bottom: Duro Olowu, Colville, Christian Dior, La DoubleJ, Arthur Arbesser, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Prada, Moschino, Simone Rocha, Stella Jean, Thebe Magugu, and Victoria Beckham.

Floral-Embroidered Tulle Mini Dress

A print that even the most voracious solids-devotee can’t help but fall for.

Back to Black

LBDs are perennial; they’ll never go out of style no matter how many times we can say black is back. They haven’t left and never will. But what does change is the proportion. Some seasons have the ubiquitous style long and covered in appliqués; others have it prim and unadorned. For fall 2021, the trend de jour is short and super fitted. It’s all about the sultry mini. From tuxedo dresses at Fashion East to babydoll silhouettes at Christian Dior, the rule of thumb is to show legs for days, darling.

Pictured from top to bottom: JW Anderson, Schiaparelli, Fashion East, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, Carolina Herrera, Giambattista Valli, Versace, Tom Ford and Eftychia.

Wool Bustier Gown

A dress so special you might just have to include it in your will.

If you are an absolute beginner at sewing Check out this post with all the sewing tips and techniques a beginner who is learning how to sew should learn.

Drafting a pattern can be done on the paper or the cloth directly. Once you have made paper patterns, unless your body has not changed, you can keep on sewing with the same pattern again and again.

Main advantages of using paper patterns

1. Time saving, if making the garment / or a single piece of garment like a sleeve, again; as, once you make a pattern you don’t have to waste time the next time you are making a similar dress, in taking measurement and marking on paper etc ; you can just go about choosing your fabric and start sewing.
2. Ease of use is an obvious advantage as, if we mark directly on to the fabric and if there is some alteration in the measurement, the markings you have made may mess up your cloth.

Marking tools to transfer the patterns to your fabric

A very useful and cheap marking tool which will be available to everyone is a piece of soap. Use left over thin slithers of soaps from your bathroom and store them near your cutting table. They can be used to mark on fabric- the advantage being that unlike all the traditional marking tools I have mentioned below they can easily be removed by rubbing gently with a wet cloth.

How to cut your fabric by using a pattern

For more details on cutting fabric check the post ‘ Top tips  to cut fabric perfectly’ and how to determine the grainline of the fabric etc.

Pattern pieces normally represent a garment’s right half. Fold your fabric in half lengthways with right sides together. Place the paper pattern piece straight on fold and pin spaced about 10 cms apart;  cut accurately. Do not forget to place one hand near the cutting line for stability while you cut with the other hand.

Some tips when marking your own patterns on to the fabric

  1. Mark accurately – be as precise as possible
  2. You do not have to mark on the 2 fabric layers but while cutting this has to be taken into account
  3. Always test your marking tool (chalk or pencil or tracing wheel) to see the impact on your chosen fabric and whether the mark will remain, or will it stain the fabric etc
  4. Be sure to use a sharp pair of sewing scissors. If your scissors are blunt the edges will turn out ragged.
  5. Take long cuts rather than many small cuts on straight edges and short cuts on curves.

rad sewing patterns for modern makers • craft • frankie magazine • australian fashion magazine online

You’ve probably spotted those vintage paper patterns at op shops or in your nanna’s sewing basket, but they’re not the only sewing patterns around anymore. In the last decade or so, we’ve seen a bunch of super-cool indie pattern companies pop up. They’re usually small businesses run by sewists (that’s the gender-neutral term favoured by the online sewing community), and tend to offer patterns geared toward younger generations of stitch-mad folks. The upside is that unlike those vintage patterns, these new designs offer detailed instructions for beginners, as well as PDF versions that can be downloaded and printed at home.

Below, we’ve put together a teeny-tiny sampling of some of the awesome pattern companies you can find, though there are heaps more for any skill or style. If you need a bit more inspiration, check out #memademay, an annual Instagram event where sewists share their everyday handmade looks. Or, have a squiz at our handy-dandy article on the basics of using sewing patterns. It’s not that hard once you get started, promise!
PAPER THEORY PATTERNS Search Paper Theory’s #zadiejumpsuit on Instagram and you’ll spot a zillion different versions. An easily adjustable wrap jumpsuit (no fiddly buttons or zips), it’s one of the most popular patterns in the online sewing community. Paper Theory founder Tara Viggo is a Cook Islands-born, New Zealand-raised London-dweller with a background in the fashion industry, where she picked up a thorough understanding of the impact of fast fashion. Her modern, workshop-inspired patterns are designed with sustainability in mind. FRIDAY PATTERN COMPANY California-based Friday Pattern Co. sells a bunch of patterns with fun, feminine touches like tiered ruffles, puffy sleeves, and even an awesome two-piece cossie. If you’re on the hunt for something simple, though, check out her free unisex tee pattern. COMMON STITCH Though they only started up in 2018, the Brissie-based lasses behind Common Stitch sell the sewing process from start to finish. Depending on what strikes your fancy, you can buy sewing patterns, completed garments or DIY sewing kits – which include the fabric, pattern, thread and other bits and bobs you’ll need to complete their designs. MUNA AND BROAD Instagram pals Leila and Jess joined forces last year to kick off Muna and Broad, a collection of patterns for plus-sized bods. The patterns they’ve released so far are wardrobe staples: a boxy top, wide-leg pants and knickers (including super-cool period undies). They also offer an awesome ‘pay it forward’ option, which allows you to sponsor the cost of a pattern for sewists who aren’t able to buy them. TILLY AND THE BUTTONS Founded by another former sewing blogger Tilly Walnes, these cute, ’60s-inspired patterns are a fab option for sewing newbies who like a lot of extra guidance. Tilly has a background in educational training, and designs most of her patterns with beginners in mind. They come with full-colour photographs explaining instructions, often accompanied by online sew-alongs (that’s sew-speak for more in-depth instructions).
MERCHANT & MILLS This Canadian sewing store and pattern company is the kind of brand our old pals at Smith Journal would love. The aesthetic is very old-timey and rustic, and it’s a great place to find simple, workwear-inspired patterns like this boiler suit, foreman’s jacket or smock dress. WIKSTEN Portland’s Jenny Gordy hasn’t released a huge number of sewing patterns, but the ones she has put out (like this oversized jacket and shift dress) sell like hotcakes. They’re great starter patterns if you’re new to sewing and need something foolproof. She also makes super-cute sewing patterns for little ones. PAPERCUT PATTERNS The Kiwi designers behind Papercut Patterns have a big range of designs, usually released as whole lines, like a regular fashion studio. We really dig their Array Top and Meridian Dress.  IN THE FOLDS Sydney lass Emily Hundt of In the Folds was the sewing whiz behind Peppermint mag’s free pattern collection until last year, when she decided to focus on building up her own biz. Emily creates patterns with really interesting structural details, like this wrap-around dress.

Now that you’ve got your patterns sorted, you’ll probably need some fabric, too. Check out our round-up of places to buy ace fabrics in Australia and online.

New Releases of Indie Designers’ Adult Sewing Patterns [Nov 16 – 22 2020]

New patterns of this week are as diverse as they can be. Besides dresses and tops we have new pants, skirts, cardigans, pyjamas and a “Chanel style” jacket! Even better for the 2020-budget: not one, not two, but three free patterns! Yay!

Totals this week: 14 new patterns, 3 updated patterns, 3 free patterns;

Please note:

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and does not include patterns for children. If you know of other new pattern released this week, feel free to tell me in the comments or email [email protected] The list is sorted by the order in which I added the items.
Although I do have affiliate accounts for some of the companies mentioned here, I do not use any affiliate links for the listed new patterns here. I would only use such links if I actually made the pattern and in that case I would always point it out clearly.
The sizes as I state them are mostly in US – otherwise I’ll add the code if possible. Please note, that some designers do not state their sizing standard, so always check the given measurements before buying a pattern.
The majority of the clothing patterns I list here is designed for a female figure – for other cases (male figure or unisex) I will add a note to the description.

Sew it yourself! Inside the zero-waste, zero-sweatshop fashion revolution | Craft

My foot hovers nervously over the sewing machine pedal. I am cautiously working my way through a sew-it-yourself kit produced by Pattern Project, a “microfactory” startup in south London. It has pioneered a laser-cutting machine that can cut patterns on demand, with minimal waste. The pieces for the dropped-sleeve dress that I am sewing have been snipped to my precise measurements by a zippy little laser, which whizzes over the crisp Irish linen, scorching faint seam guides into the fabric so I know exactly where to sew.

Pattern Project’s founders, Shruti Grover, 34, and Simon Johnson, 35 – partners in life and in business – are seeking funding for their first shop. A “22nd-century” vision of fashion, says Grover, it will hold no stock, but will sell custom-fit clothing that is laser-cut in front of you within minutes, out of local, ethical and sustainable fabrics – and then sewn by you.

They have already collaborated on a zero-waste pattern for the latest collection by the fashion designer Phoebe English, while last weekend they exhibited at the V&A in west London as part of the London Design festival.

Pattern Project is at the cutting edge of a make-your-own-clothes revival, but it is not the only business facilitating home-sewn fashion. The catalyst was Covid. “We took six weeks of sales in one day over lockdown,” says Michael Jones of Merchant & Mills, which sells whatever you might need – patterns, fabric, tools and online tutorials – to sew your own. Even now, 18 months on, sales are 50% higher than before the pandemic.

Shedding its “mumsy”, hobbyist image, the sew-it-yourself (SIY) movement has become something more modern, sustainably minded and social. For starters, sewers have been rebranded as “sewists” – because who would want to be mistaken for a waste pipe? Plus, thanks to a new wave of independent pattern-makers, it is not hard to find on-trend designs, downloadable in pdf format anywhere in the world.

“When I tell people that I’m making my own clothes, they look at me like: ‘Oh, you poor thing,’” says Leila d’Angelo, a 34-year-old insurance broker who dusted down her sewing machine during the second English lockdown. “Then I come in with a bustier dress and they’re like: ‘Sorry, what? That’s not what I was expecting.’”

‘The perfect small challenge’ … Made My Wardrobe’s Lydia Higginson says a callout for face masks last year inspired many dormant sewists. Photograph: Dan Higginson

According to Jones, the new customers are “young and mostly female, against fast fashion and much more switched on about environmental issues”. Many are motivated to sew because it enables them to avoid sweatshop production. “A lot of people are clear that cutting and sewing is where the exploitation happens,” says Lydia Morrow, a 25-year-old Glasgow-based sewing influencer who shares microtutorials on Instagram Stories. “I can cut that out now.”

There is plenty of support available for newbie sewists, too. The Fashion District festival, a five-day celebration of sustainable fashion that took place last week in Stratford, east London, dedicated a third of this year’s programme to maker workshops, including a tutorial on upcycling scarves into kimonos, hosted by the community interest company Trashion Factory. “There’s a huge appetite for people to be involved in their own fashion,” says Helen Lax, the festival’s founder. “This is a different incarnation of the good life. Rather than just following a pattern, the maker community is going off-grid and having a go. It’s about being able to take control of your style.”

For many sewists, the face mask was a gateway drug. After spotting a callout for 500 cloth masks from a homeless charity, Lydia Higginson, the founder of Made My Wardrobe sewing kits, rallied her followers to help. “It was a quick win – the perfect small challenge to get people back on their machines,” she says. “And then they were like: ‘What else can I make?’”

The new generation of mail-order sewing kits – complete with pattern, sustainable fabric and the promise of a clean conscience – serves as an outstretched hand waiting to guide nascent sewists through the daunting process of dressmaking. Made My Wardrobe, which has sold 20,000 dungarees kits (from £58) and patterns (£12.50) since launching them two years ago, also offers kits for underwear, period pants and swimwear, using recycled denim and recycled fishing yarn (in UK sizes 6 to 24). If you get stuck, Made My Wardrobe and Pattern Project offer “sew-along” video tutorials.

While you will find only British and European organic fabrics at Pattern Project (as well as an Italian polyamide that they claim will biodegrade about five years after disposal), the bigger fashion problem it wants to solve is overstock. It is estimated that 20% of the 100bn items of clothing produced each year are not sold; they are then usually buried, shredded or burned. “Brands always over-order,” says Grover. “It’s cheaper to produce more and sell at mad discounts later than it is to produce less, but higher-quality, stuff.” Pattern Project’s ultimate goal is to see its zero-waste laser in fashion stores and haberdasheries across the country, so clothes can be cut and sewn on demand, affordably and quickly.

In the meantime, the sewists are playing what they call “pattern Tetris – making patterns fit into a smaller amount of fabric”, says Atia Azmi, 38, a GP and a host of un:CUT: The Makers’ Podcast. According to the government’s 2019 report Fixing Fashion, “as much as 15% of fabric can end up on the cutting room floor … Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of fabric are wasted at the design and production stage before clothing reaches the customer.” Within the sewing community, downloadable zero-waste patterns have blown up online.

Super sewist … at work at Mend Assembly in Totnes, Devon. Photograph: Annemieke Goldswain-Hein

Reducing “fashion miles” – the distance a garment and its component parts travel through the supply chain – is also on the sewists’ agenda. The starting point for the newly opened Mend Assembly in Totnes, Devon – a two‑storey centre offering a makers’ space, dressmaking workshops, repairs and upcycling – was “clothing localism”, says its co-founder, Joss Whipple.

As well as utilising “existing waste streams” (upcycling old sweatshirts into kids’ leggings, say), Mend Assembly hopes to work with the regenerative “farm-to-clothing” concept of the non-profit group Fibershed, whereby local demand for clothing is met by using local, natural fibres in a closed loop. “We believe that when clothing becomes aligned with local practice, so many of the problematic elements of the global commercial model fall away, from reduced carbon and transport to deeper connection, respect and care for the clothes that we own and wear,” says Mend Assembly’s website.

That connection is tangible to those in the maker community. “When you’re wearing something you’ve made, not for one second are you not aware of that,” says d’Angelo. “Every time I look down, I think about the mistakes I made and the way I saved it and I’m filled with pride. It’s the ultimate in conscious consumption.”

My Pattern Project dress takes a painstaking four hours to sew, although a professional could make it in an hour. The experience gives me a new appreciation of the skilled stitchwork of millions of unthanked garment workers around the world. “The more you make for yourself, the more you realise the time and effort it takes to make things – and how cheap things are on the high street, compared with how long it takes,” says Azmi. “The value people place on fashion has been diminished because of cost.”

Atia Azmi

For d’Angelo, a self‑confessed “mile-a-minute person”, sewing is “the only way I can slow down and give my body a space to chill”. Morrow, who has made half of the clothing she owns, says: “It feels so empowering to have crafted from scratch an extension of who you are.” For Azmi, it is about the morale boost that comes with perfecting the fit. “I’m 5ft 2in [1.57 metres], so usually clothes are too long or the shoulders are not right. Now I can tailor them exactly as I want them, or match them to a hijab, or make longer sleeves. I feel more confident when something fits well.”

To get involved, d’Angelo recommends following the Instagram hashtags #sewfrosting, #indiepatterns and #tntpatterns. You will find monthly challenges based around a loose theme, but the ultimate challenge is to sew your whole wardrobe. Working towards an 80:20 ratio of handmade to bought clothes, d’Angelo challenged herself this summer to make a 15-piece holiday wardrobe. Sewing right up until the last second, she says she felt like “a capable person in a world spinning out of control”. The shopping sprees of old have been replaced with research trips; instead of asking: “Shall I buy this?” she now asks: “Could I make that?” She says: “If I’m not prepared to spend five hours making it, do I really want it?”

I stride out of the Pattern Project studio in a perfectly fitting dress in exactly the colour I wanted. The kit cost £60. I find myself thinking: “What to make next?”

90,000 What will be fashionable in spring and summer 2021

1. Monochrome dress. The habit of dividing everything exclusively into black and white has reached the catwalks. The most fashionable dress of the season does not tolerate halftones – only two of the most understandable colors that get along with each other both within mini and in complex evening dresses.

2.Tie-dye print. The legacy of the hippie movement continues to permeate the fashion agenda. This season, ethnic style blouses and dresses and oriental waistcoats have been complemented by sweeping tie-dye prints that look like a blur of paint, like the iconic tunics of the 1970s.

Christian Dior

Gabriela Hearst

3. Coat-caftan. The most relevant and at the same time unusual type of outerwear of the season is an allusion to ancient caftans, lavishly decorated with embroidery, prints and other decorative elements. At the same time, it is worth combining all this splendor with simple basic things – straight jeans, skinny trousers and shirts.

Christian Dior

Dolce & Gabbana

4. Cropped blouse. The crop top has been successfully transformed into a textured blouse. The most trending models are complemented by puffed sleeves, draperies, laces or decorative knots.

Paco Rabanne

5.Sconce. This thing clearly marks the main summer hits. The designers offer us to wear multi-colored bras under jackets, denim jackets and shirts, or proudly and for show – without additional layers of clothing, but only in the company of leggings, jeans and wide trousers.

Dolce & Gabbana

6. Trench coat with a loose fit. A familiar element of the basic wardrobe is undergoing a slight transformation this season. The hottest trench coat this spring is one that looks like it’s a couple sizes bigger for you. Altuzarra

Nina Ricci

Louis Vuitton

7. Puff sleeves. Lush, textured sleeves appear not only on quite obvious blouses. Jackets, dresses, trench coats and even coats and raincoats made of dense fabrics also become their territory.

8.Net. Large weaves of threads, sometimes supplemented with beads, pearls and other decor, now appear not as elements of clothing, but as an additional accessory. The mesh can be effectively worn over a minimalist evening dress or with a basic T-shirt and jeans.

9. Oversize shirt. A huge shirt is ready to act both as a dress and as an addition to other elements of the image. It is best to combine this with similar things from the XXL category – palazzo trousers, wide culottes or voluminous elongated shorts.

10. Pants-balloons. This silhouette was inherited from the 1980s. Therefore, such wide trousers are ideally combined with mules with thin heels, tops with accented shoulders and wide jackets. But they are equally well mixed with the fashion achievements of our time – for example, with tops with decorative cutouts or sweatshirts. By the way, the most relevant color of such trousers is soft sand.

Louis Vuitton

11. Wide jeans. Loose fit jeans were last in vogue in the 1990s. A few decades later, they return, having lost their informal hooligan flair on the way.Now it’s more of a boho chic or urban casual outfit.

Paco Rabanne

Victoria Beckham

12. Accent belt. Designers advise to emphasize the waist with a noticeable belt not only in classic style looks. Wide belts with eyelets or thin belts with decorative buckles now appear on both dresses and sports shorts.

Louis Vuitton

13.Floral print dress. This spring, roses, hibiscus, peonies and buttercups bloom especially magnificently on dresses. And this is exactly that classic and to some extent even refined femininity that everyone has been waiting for from modern fashion for so long.

John Rogers

Molly Goddard

Tom Ford

14. Shades of pastels. Delicate colors are invariably present in the spring-summer season. This time, the fashion houses, apparently, were inspired by Parisian macaroons – at least, it is their colors that are most often found in the trendy “pastel block”.

Max Mara

Jil Sander

Rick Owens

15. Sports sweatshirts. Olympics, hoodies and sweatshirts remain champions in terms of comfort. Considering that in 2020 we are all very accustomed to them, this year no one is in a hurry to part with the “quarantine uniform”.Therefore, fashion houses have shown the world a compromise combination: cozy sports sweatshirts are found in one look with strict skirts, trousers, pumps and classic bags.

The long fringe on the bottom creates a sensual movement when walking, while sequins and sequins simulate scales.

Floral print

Multicolored peas are another trend in women’s fashion that conveys youth, positivity and happiness.A classic black and white combination from Dolce & Gabbana or monochrome from Max Mara is an option for those who are not ready for bold experiments, but want to support the spring trend. Bright polka dot inserts are the choice of extravagant persons.

Long fringe gives the image extreme femininity and dynamics. This kind of finish has taken the catwalk. Fringe adorned dresses from Gucci, leather cowboy jackets from R13 and Coach 1941. Tom Ford, Aigner, Emporio Armani added sensuality, volume, movement to evening tight-fitting outfits.

Heavy print, scarf print

Motley does not mean tasteless. Mixing different patterned fabrics in one look is the trend for spring-summer 2021. The technique is used in tops, overalls, jackets, and skirts. Animal print

90,000 Fashionable dresses spring-summer 2021. 200 stunning photos

Everyone who did not have enough fairy tales and romanticism in their childhood, in the summer of 2021 can “roam around” to their hearts content.Lovely ladies have the opportunity to become real princesses dressed in beautiful dresses. So what do famous couturiers offer?

The coming season provides beauties with great opportunities to choose their outfit. Fashion is a rapidly changing direction, and therefore it is very difficult to keep track of all its innovations.

This season, designers have provided girls with a truly chic choice. Various styles, decors and shades will be relevant. However, stylists now place high demands on the cut of clothing and material. So what are the fashionable dresses for spring-summer 2021?

Dress is one of the symbols of femininity, and designers traditionally pay great attention to it in their collections. The fashion trends of the 2021 season are most noticeably reflected in the spring-summer dresses.

In the new collections, designers have presented many beautiful, interesting and, to some extent, even unexpected solutions for.

Popular dress trends for 2021 will be:

  • bandeau;
  • loose fit;
  • lush layering;
  • A-shaped silhouette;
  • straight fit.

  • pop art;
  • animal and floral print.

As for the color palette, we can say that summer dresses are presented in a wide range of colors. In addition to classic colors, original solutions will be:

  • cold pink;
  • ruling red;
  • any shades of green or blue;
  • charming lilac;
  • alluring gold with silver;
  • laconic blue.

Puff Sleeve Dresses

Sleeves of an original form and cut have been conquering the catwalks not for the first season. We saw them in sweaters, cardigans, jumpers and blouses. In the new season, designers have gotten to dresses.

The sleeve-flashlight on dresses can be different – differ in size and length. The hit of the season is a straight-cut dress decorated with puffy lantern sleeves.

Long sleeve mini dress

A mini dress takes on a completely new interpretation if it is made with a simple edge and decorated with original elements.

Mini dresses with an asymmetrical shoulder, where the bare shoulder is decorated with a bow, and the other hand is covered by a long sleeve, have become an undoubted hit. Fashionable lantern sleeves or puff sleeves are also perfect for mini dresses.

Trench dress or jacket dress

A novelty of the new season – elegant trenchcoat dresses. They are perfect for an office bow, for walking and meeting friends, shopping and parties.

The style is so self-sufficient, it does not require any serious additions.Correctly selected accessories and shoes are all that is required for a fashionista who has chosen the style of a trench dress.

The characteristic features of this style are the presence of a belt and a collar, as in trench coats.

Polka dot dress

Cute and charming polka dots on spring and summer dresses 2021 are one of the main trends. It creates a special mood and adds a retro touch to the image, which is again in trend.

You don’t have to limit yourself to black and white peas, you can choose color variations and emphasize your individuality.

Dresses with bows and ribbons

The romantic style in 2021 found its expression in decorating spring and summer dresses with ribbons and bows. Surprisingly, such solutions look not only cute, but also very stylish.

They give the image of lightness and airiness. Designers do not get tired of competing in the originality of the use of these decorative elements in models of fashionable dresses. Fashionistas can only choose a variation close to their mood.

Dresses with buttons

We have already seen button decoration on fashionable skirts. Now it’s the turn of the dresses. It would seem that what could be simpler than buttons?

However, it is enough to look at the model, decorated with a row of buttons along the entire length to match the dress, to see how effective such a solution is! Buttons can be contrasting. Therefore, it is possible to choose an option to your taste.

Red dresses and accessories

Bright reds are well known to fashionistas from last season. They not only migrated into the spring-summer 2021 season, but acquired a new “zest” – a print.

Designers offer a wide palette of red shades. The print will help to make the model of the dress more original, stand out and be especially attractive.

Trendy Floral Dresses

It is not by chance that we have singled out these dresses into a separate category. One of the main color trends of the season is shades of blue. Spring dresses made in shades of blue look incredibly delicate and airy.

Such an outfit will make people around you smile with admiration, and will make you feel like a real queen of this spring.

Office Dresses 2021

Designers always pay due attention to the creation of ensembles for a business woman. Looking at the new collections, it becomes clear that the great couturiers position the business lady as a gentle and fragile woman.

In the coming season, all business-style dresses have become even brighter. Almost all the models that flashed on fashion catwalks had some kind of zest, peppercorn.

In the styles of business-style dresses, the designers tried to preserve the requirements of the dress code, but diluted it with decor from patch pockets, belts, buttons and buckles of various shades.

A business woman should definitely know what the office fashion will be like in 2021.

Vintage romantic dresses at fashion shows were replaced by bold and daring outfits in the “disco” style, which all young ladies are already interested in.

Women’s collections of summer dresses captivate with grace and femininity. The world is once again dominated by retro and romanticism, reflected in light materials, original details and charming patterns.

Open and bright models

Summer 2021 becomes the season of open and bright summer dresses. Have you bought a dress with open, inviting shoulders and an elegant waistline?

You hit the spot! Any model with such “features” will look gorgeous and incomparable.

Maxi or Mini

The main rule of the season is “mini-maxi”.”What does it mean?” – you ask.

Designers have designated the summer exit as follows: either maxi or daring mini, and no length below the knee! Both of these styles are ideal for everyday wear.

Shirt model

For working days it is worth buying a light shirt dress.

The top of “Olympus” is occupied by a shirt dress of a straight silhouette or a model with a belt. Many couturiers offer monochrome models with a contrasting belt.

Pajama style

Some fashionable dresses resemble nightgowns with lace combinations. Wearing such an adorable outfit will make a splash at the beach party!

A wrap dress can visually hide flaws. The bandeau style strapless or with a deep-set neckline is the perfect solution to a discreet outfit.

Stylish sundresses

Regarding the style of a sundress for the summer, here the model range is simply off scale – from the classic cut to the flare with thin straps.

If you work in the summer, get a knee-length plain sundress. Going to the sea? Then a long, lightweight model made of lightweight material will suit you. A monochromatic sarafan, complemented by appropriate accessories, can become a chic version of a cocktail outfit.

High waist

For ladies who want to neatly hide their tummy, you can choose models with a high waist and maximum length.

Romantic style dresses

Models are distinguished by a huge variety of styles and materials.Dresses for cool spring weather will be made of tweed, wool, denim and jacquard.

Ruches, frills, asymmetry – these are the main features that distinguish such outfits.
In the collections of the romantic style, there are dresses with high and low waist, which allow you to emphasize all the advantages of the figure.

Tight-fitting and trapezoidal models, as well as “hourglass” will look very elegant.

The colors of the romantic style dresses are distinguished by their richness of color.Monochrome outfits look very sophisticated and stylish, however, dresses with prints are not inferior to them in popularity.

Mesh inserts, ruffles and flounces, cut dresses from several pieces of fabric, winged sleeves – these are the details that add a touch of coquetry and romance alongside.

See-through dress

If you want to be known as a real fashionista, be sure to add this outfit to your arsenal. Both monochrome shades and various patterns (flowers, prints, butterflies, etc.) will be relevant.etc.)

Evening dresses

All evening dresses are made in aristocratic and sophisticated style that look fantastic. Materials for evening dresses are chiffon, shiny satin, mesh and guipure. Dresses in the Greek style, models in retro style are very popular.

The immortal classic does not give up its positions either. If you want to solve the age-old women’s question, what to wear, be sure to get yourself a little black dress.

As a rule, all evening pieces are made in maxi length.

this is only a necessity, and nobody canceled coquetry and femininity.

All girls dream of a gorgeous evening out. If you have an event ahead of you, this is a great excuse to buy a charming dress, do stylish makeup and hair and become the queen of the ball!

In the next season, stylists recommend ladies to dress in soft pink or black satin with lace.Pay attention to the unusual combination of dresses with trousers and frills, bold neckline and puffy cuffs. These original solutions will be very fashionable.

Bright dresses

A huge palette of bright summer dresses that cannot go unnoticed is presented on fashion catwalks.

Red, green, yellow dresses look stylish and bold, but women need to be careful when choosing a suitable shade. For an everyday model, you should choose a classic cut, and wear an original model for a celebration.

With flowers

Eminent designers have relied on femininity and naturalness. That is why models with polka dots, as well as with roses, daisies, forget-me-nots, have become relevant dresses among the bright options. Floral dresses perfectly hide extra pounds.

Fashionable rings of 2021 – modern and stylish models made of gold and silver, jewelry trends

Fashionable wedding rings in 2021

Rings are undoubtedly a symbol of love and fidelity.Since ancient times, either the Egyptians or the Greeks (the opinions of historians on this matter differ greatly) exchanged rings. It is no coincidence, by the way, that they were and are being worn on the ring finger. The ancient Greek writer Plutarch wrote that it was from this finger that a certain thinnest nerve departed, which reaches the heart. Since then, little has changed, and there is reason to believe that in 2021, and in 2022, and much later, rings will remain the main attribute of a wedding. The only thing that changes day after day is the fashion for wedding rings. Our grandmothers wore large cast rings, decorated with engraving with a sample of gold – and even then from the inside. In 2021, stylish white gold wedding rings become the undisputed leader: the usual thin yellow bezels have long passed their post and are being replaced by a new classic. White gold is one of the most advantageous options for a wedding ring, because it will look sophisticated and elegant on the hand, it will complement any wedding bow, and it will also go with any manicure for life, isn’t it a miracle?

Wedding rings (go to the Sunlight catalog)

If for some reason white gold seems boring to you, then your choice is rings with colored stones. For many years now, you will not surprise anyone with a transparent neat stone. This season, diamonds and cubic zirconias are replaced by rubies, sapphires, emeralds and many others, for example, black diamonds. Few people associate black with a wedding, but it is in 2021 that it becomes relevant. For example, black gold rings are waiting for us. By the way, if we talk about the arrangement of stones on the ring, then the only limit here is your imagination. It can be one large stone in the center of the ring, it can be a chaotic scattering of small stones, ornaments and much more! Exclusivity is the main motto of 2021.

An extraordinary approach can be shown not only in the selection of stones, but also in another area of ring decoration – in engraving. In this season, rings with inscriptions are also becoming a trend. It can be your names, the date of your wedding, or whatever – up to any word that can mean something only to the two of you. It is generally accepted, by the way, that engraved rings are a kind of amulet for newlyweds.

Fashion has not bypassed those who like minimalism. For them, matte rings and enamel rings will be an excellent option. However, while the former are often difficult to decorate, the latter, as a rule, are not. Rings made using the mokume gane technique, which feature engraving in the form of a woody texture, can also be classified as minimalistic.

For those who are fascinated by the variety and quirkiness of shapes, this season there is plenty to choose from: openwork rings and rings with decorative cut.

Good news for those who have always loved vintage jewelry – they are back in fashion! If there were no treasures in your grandmother’s chest, then you can easily order a vintage-style ring that will be artificially aged.

photo of a gold wedding ring, fashionable in [year] year

And if you and your half cannot find a consensus and agree on what kind of metal your rings will be, then leading jewelry houses have taken care of you. They are offering combo rings this season. You have a lot of room to maneuver, but do not forget about the main thing – it is important that the metals contrast with each other. White and black gold, or classic yellow with platinum will look extremely advantageous – there are truly many options, you just have to choose your own.

However, the most important thing when choosing rings is to be based on your inner feeling, and only then look back at popular wedding rings. This ring should delight you all your life, and therefore choose with your heart.

Latest trends

If in the choice of wedding decorations, probably, many will turn to minimalism this season, then in everyday life the situation is completely opposite – the main motto of 2021: “Yes, more in total!” The deliberate redundancy of jewelry began to manifest itself even earlier, but it reached its peak precisely in 2021.

This season, do not be afraid to overdo it with decorations, because it is almost impossible to do. It is only important that they are selected with taste and combined with each other in color, otherwise – full speed ahead! Massive rings adjacent to thin bezels, textured rings next to simple matte ones – whatever.

Phalanx rings (go to the Sunlight catalog)

It’s no secret that accessories are the soul of any image, just a ring can be used to diversify and complement any bow. This option is the royal rings, they are also massive gold rings. Of course, they require a certain attitude towards themselves and will be best combined with a calm (perhaps even completely monochrome) bow, where they will become the main highlight, and will certainly attract admiring glances. But you can easily try any option and choose the one that suits you.

Romantic and feminine natures will love flower rings, of which there are a great many in 2021.This is not to say that this is a new trend – floristry has always been loved by jewelers and designers, but what could be better than a classic dear to the heart? Nothing enhances the beauty of a woman’s fingers like the graceful lines of a flower.

Jewelers, by the way, pay attention not only to flora, but also to fauna, and therefore animal rings are becoming one of the trends in 2021. It can be as usual butterflies and rabbits, as well as giraffes, flamingos, hummingbirds and even a raccoon!

Animalistic rings (go to the Sunlight catalog)

A silver ring in the shape of a snake will also be relevant, they are literally swept off the shelves of jewelry stores.

The trend to wear rings on different phalanges of the fingers does not give up. This is an absolute and almost the main trend of 2021! Neat minimalistic rings are now in vogue, which can be made in any metal and are either very simple or decorated with tiny pebbles and pearls.

Another hit of the season is rings with enamel. Many of them are created according to a very simple pattern, but they are decorated with bizarre patterns, from which it is impossible to take your eyes off. It can be both hermetic patterns and various abstractions.

Rings with diamonds and precious stones

Whatever changes in the sphere of jewelry fashion, one thing remains the same – gold jewelry. Whatever variety we are offered, there will always be a place for the classics, especially when it comes to those who are just starting to plunge into the world of jewelry.

Fashion rings with diamonds (go to the Sunlight catalog)

This season on store shelves you can find a wide variety of exquisite gold rings, made in different colors and decorated with both colored and transparent stones.Of course, “a girl’s best friends are diamonds” and it is they who will always, in any fashion and weather, make jewelry lovers sigh with admiration. Stylish women’s gold rings with diamonds are the choice not only for women with excellent taste, but also for practical women, because these jewelry are durable, durable, and can delight their owners for many years. In addition, there is no situation in which a diamond would not be appropriate: a luxurious evening dress or a white T-shirt with jeans – he absolutely does not care, he is self-sufficient and beautiful.Since the fashion trends of 2021 are focused on showcasing exclusivity, it is worth looking at colored stones, especially black ones.

A diamond ring is not only an accessory, as they say, “forever”, but also a great way to express your feelings.

We see these rings in the movies, so beautiful, so desirable. Why are engagement rings just plain headbands with a stone in the center? This option was proposed by Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of the famous jewelry brand, and it acquired the status of canon. You can safely give such a ring to your beloved, without fear of being branded as a person far from hot trends: it will always be fashionable.

Rings in the style of minimalism

However, classics are classics, but the main narrative of 2021 is uniqueness. It is not at all necessary to adorn yourself with assorted stones and catchy items – minimalistic rings can also attract attention, making you want to see them closer. They come in different shapes – geometric, wavy, classic and are worn both at the base of the finger and on each of the phalanges. These rings are capable of delicately and succinctly complementing the image of the owner.

Silver thin rings (go to the Sunlight catalog)

Today silver items are in fashion. This is not surprising at all, because silver rings are inexpensive and fit perfectly into any bow, be it, say, something monochrome, or, on the contrary, bright and impressive. Moreover, silver is a metal that seems to symbolize minimalism – it is not as catchy as gold and does not require a lot of money.

Of course, minimalistic rings are not an accessory that you can “hide” behind, minimalist rings are a statement: “Everything ingenious is simple”.

The trend for jewelry in rings: stylish and modern models

Fashion is not the only thing alive. Every time you want to complement your look with something new, you must admit that you can’t collect precious rings for every bow. It is in such a situation that jewelry comes to the rescue, which is inexpensive and allows you to place bright accents for each image.Jewelry trends, however, are not far from those found in jewelry. First of all, of course, this is minimalism again. Modern fashion tends to be simplistic in general. However, this should not be understood as one ring on one finger, because in 2021, paradoxically, even minimalism does not happen much! Feel free to put on thin graceful rings on several fingers at once, or even several on one finger.

Often in fashion, one thing contradicts the other, and in the trends for jewelry in 2021 the same situation has emerged: along with minimalistic rings, hypersize rings are coming into fashion. They can be decorated with a large artificial stone, as well as made to look like gold or silver. Preference should be given to simple models without rhinestones.

Steel rings (go to the Sunkight catalog)

For those who are not afraid of experiments and want to diversify a rich collection of jewelry with something fundamentally new, in 2021, “multi-storey” rings are offered. These are jewelry consisting of two parts: one at the base of the finger, the other on the upper phalanx. They can be simple, they can be of bizarre shapes, they can be connected by a chain, or they can be independent – in a word, for absolutely any taste and color.

How to choose stylish and modern men’s rings

Not only girls complement their image with jewelry. Men also do not stand aside! However, men’s fashion is a little less diverse than women’s. Men’s rings are, as a rule, rather massive products that look appropriate and proportionate on the big fingers. Rings with skulls become one of the hottest hits of the season! It would seem that the ready subculture has sunk into oblivion, but it is in 2021 that leading fashion houses propose to complement the image with one of these rings.I must say that the choice is quite large: large rings with a large skull, half-rims with two heads, silver rings engraved with skulls and bones, thin rings with a small skull, and even a ring with a skeleton.

Rings made in the form of chains are also quite popular.

In men’s fashion, as in women’s fashion, there has been a fashion for openwork and vintage, and therefore more and more often you can find large men’s rings with monograms and artificially aged rings on store shelves.

The trend for animal jewelry has not spared men’s fashion either, though you won’t find cute rabbits here, men are offered brutal rings with the heads of a bull or a lion.

This season preference should be given to light metals – silver, white gold. If last year products made of yellow or pink gold were at the peak of popularity, and one could not be afraid to look like a rapper, or a baron, then this year the palm goes to less catchy options. This season it will not be difficult to choose a stylish silver ring for a man, because there are really a lot of them.

Rings for men (go to the Sunlight catalog)

Of course, those who cannot appreciate the intricate throw rings also have plenty to choose from. The trends are simple rings, both thin and large, made of silver, as well as minimalistic signets.

5. Swimsuit with lacing

Models with lacing look very unusual and elegant. And if it’s a one-piece swimsuit, just put on shorts or a skirt to get a graceful top out of it. The main thing is to choose the right material and size so that the model fits perfectly on the figure, does not bump up anywhere and does not slip.

6. One-color swimsuit

In contrast to the popularity of bright and variegated colors, the fashion for laconic monophonic models came.Go for sophisticated yet natural shades like olive or steel. The style itself is most often sporty.

7. Leotard with flounces

Ruches from thin flying materials have also come into beach fashion. In 2021, pay attention to the graceful top with small sleeves that descend from the shoulders and, as it were, continue one solid flounce. It looks very gentle and feminine, and not at all vulgar. Although there are more outspoken models with a harness.

10. Swimsuit with animal print

Swimsuit with leopard, zebra, or even more exotic prints – a win-win in 2021.The style in this case can be any – open or closed. But it is better that such a swimsuit is not too provocative, and also without excessive decor and ornaments, because animal prints are self-sufficient in themselves.

10 most fashionable dresses of summer-2021

1. Dress from black and white

The combination of two classic colors is one of the hottest trends of the coming season.

It does not matter how black and white will be combined. It can be a monochromatic mini with a wide contrasting belt, a “checkerboard” patchwork dress, or a fluffy layered model in which dark details have light edging and vice versa. The classic version is also good: a black sundress with thin straps over a white T-shirt.

To make the look not too strict, complement it with a bag, belt or shoes in a pure bright color – red, green, yellow or blue.

What to buy

2. Open dress with lacing at the waist

Lacing, belts, ribbons that emphasize the bare waist are not ideas for every day. But if it’s hot enough outside, and you are brave and self-confident, then perhaps this is your option.

However, a dress with a lacing at the waist may well be a universal solution. In such an outfit, you can go not only to the beach, but also on a date and even a business lunch. You just need to choose a model of a suitable cut.

What to buy

3. Loose maxi

The more airy, flying, weightless clothes look, the better. In this case, the cut does not play a special role. A straight dress and a trapeze-like dress will do. The skirt can be in the form of a standard “sun”, balloon or pleated. The main thing is the feeling of freedom and tissue flowing from the hips.

What to buy

4. Dress with unusual cutouts

Figured perforation on the abdomen, hips, back, elbows, under the bust – the season’s trick. Necklines don’t have to be symmetrical: a Croods style dress with a shoulder strap and a neckline on the other side at the waist, or a moth-eaten skirt is also a trend.

What to buy

5. Dress with a fluffy skirt

A fluffy skirt is not very practical, but the easiest way to feel like a princess. In the warm season of 2021, this feeling is very much in demand, therefore, such dresses have appeared in the spring-summer collections of most fashion houses in the world. There are no requirements for the color and composition of the fabric, although it is better to choose monochrome models in pastel shades.

What to buy

6. Slip dress

Midi or maxi pajama-style dresses – made of smooth flowing fabric with thin shoulder straps – have been in fashion for several seasons. They are still trending in 2021.When choosing a color, give preference to black. And give up bright accessories: the black combination is absolutely self-sufficient thing.

What to buy

7. Disco style dress

We are talking about products made of fabric, decorated with sequins, rhinestones, sequins or having a sparkling metallized coating. Such an outfit looks most natural as an evening one. If you want to wear a disco dress for the day, go for the extra long, oversized pieces and pair them with white sneakers or neutral pumps.Better without a heel, so as not to overload the image.

What to buy

8. Dress with a corset

Corset makes the image incredibly sexy. Therefore, these outfits are most appropriate for dates and cocktail parties. However, in the summer of 2021, designers propose to make corset models universal. Rhyme them with blazers and jackets for a more business-like look, or light sweatshirts and athletic shoes for a casual dress.
