MAGAZINE OF THE BEST KIDS CHILDREN’S MODEL AGENCY (agency baby models kz)

Name: Kiki Kuthofd
Originally from : Groningen, Netherlands
Lives in: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Founder / Profession / creative director of thecoolheads. com
Every day I draw inspiration from my boys, who are convinced optimists and sometimes overly idealists. “Master of Observation” is definitely about me …

Kiki grew up in a small village north of Groningen in a modern family of artists … Kiki’s parents are open-minded. They had a large house with a swing and their own climbing wall in the living room. They did not restrict Kiki with too strict rules of discipline and allowed him to spend every day in the company of close friends. Kiki’s mind was curious, observant, and free!

Kiki studied fashion design at Artschool, but soon after graduating she realized that she was much more interested in “image” than working as a fashion designer. The photography course was the beginning of her new career as a photographer. Kiki started working as an assistant with many talented fashion photographers in Amsterdam, Paris and Sydney. It was an extremely interesting and even fun experience, but after a while the nature of Kiki’s work changed. Kiki took a much more personal approach to each project and moved on to creating portraits and lifestyle photographs.

“I have always had a very clear understanding of clothing and design. Since adolescence, I have been very picky about everything. It really helped me in my business. Don’t be afraid to choose or create new directions. I always have a good feel for what prints and designs are suitable for me, clients and even friends. I turned this skill into my life’s work – making choices and supervising, creating mood boards, combining unexpected things with each other. I honestly think quite outside the box. Never fit into the imposed framework, but it took me too long to understand and accept it. Now I’m doing what I’m good at. “

In 2013, Kiki created THE COOL HEADS, a blog for cool boys and their modern parents … “To share her vision of style, art and design for boys. When my eldest was born, there wasn’t a children’s store that had a sufficient selection of cool shoes and clothes . .. ”

On his blog, Kiki tries to get rid of the typical boys’ notions of dress and style. “I believe what children are wearing is a reflection of what their parents are wearing. So children are our mirror.Mini version. There are some parents who let their kids wear whatever they like. And that’s great! But if I can direct their choice, then I will be happy. The work is in full swing!) Although, in the end, it does not really matter. The main thing is that our children feel comfortable and can be themselves. ”

Kiki: “Playing football has always been my dream!”

– For “OrelGU-KPRF” the season is not going very well – only one point was scored before the last round. What do you see as the main problem of your team’s unsuccessful performances?
– In the first round, we played on the same level with all the teams, but we either failed to realize our chances, or we simply could not keep the lead. Also, we will not forget that in one of the rounds we were forced to refuse to hold matches for objective reasons. Then it was necessary to regain shape, rework all the established schemes and, most importantly, regain confidence.

– This weekend you still managed to win your first victories in the Russian Championship – “Aurora” was defeated. How did you manage it?
– We managed to do what we didn’t manage in any first round match. The girls fought for each other until the very end. Most importantly, we had no doubts about our victory, even when Aurora was in the lead. The second victory was especially important for us, which confirmed that the result of the first meeting was not an accident. “OrelGU-KPRF” must continue in the same spirit and gain maximum points in subsequent meetings.Only victories in the upcoming rounds will allow us to advance to the playoffs.

– You scored a double in your first game against Aurora. How do you assess the current season for yourself in general?
– This is my second year in the Russian Championship. I am still gaining experience and working in training every day to improve my game. This season I began to receive more playing time and, accordingly, have already recorded three goals for myself. I will continue to train hard as well and I want to help the team as much as possible with my game.

– The team from Oryol faces a very difficult task – in four rounds you need to score the maximum number of points to get into the coveted “four” …
– Of course, this is not an easy task. But, of course, anything is possible. All in our hands. The team is faced with the task of winning every match, despite the status of our rivals. All OrelGU-KPRF players are well aware of this. The victory over “Aurora” not only gave us strength, but also made it clear that the difference between us and other teams is only in one thing – in the number of points scored, and not in the quality of performers.

– You are still a student at Oryol State University. Is it difficult to combine study and futsal?
– Yes, I am a third year student majoring in the construction of highways and airfields. Of course, it is difficult to combine study and training, but I’m already used to it. Playing football has always been my dream! Many teachers know that I play for the varsity team and it is not a problem for them if I miss 2-3 classes due to away matches. Moreover, I do laboratory work and assignments quite quickly and, if possible, hand over all the items in advance. I have already been studying for three years according to this scheme and, it seems, everything is turning out well.

– Tell us why you chose futsal? Were you familiar with this sport when you lived in Haiti?
– Since childhood, I began to get involved in football and have always dreamed of becoming a football player. At home, I only played big football – either as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. When I came to study in Russia, I wanted to continue playing football, I was looking for a women’s team all over the city. As a result, my teachers told me that the university has a women’s mini-football team. For me, this was just the optimal solution, since I was able to combine study and sports.

Ghibli Marathon. Kiki’s delivery service. Review

The kind Japanese magician from the world of animation Hayao Miyazaki has always tried to convey to the audience of all countries the reasonable, kind, eternal, instilling in the children’s audience love for the world around and people. His fifth feature-length work was no exception – the charming fairy tale “The Witch’s Delivery Service”, based on the book of the same name by the writer Eiko Kadono.

The young witch Kiki lives with her mom and dad in a house on the outskirts of a small town. She turns 13 years old, and according to the old tradition, she has to go on an independent journey to another city where she has no acquaintances. There she must settle and spend some time among people, offering them her help. And so, together with a black cat named Zizi, Kiki sets off on a journey towards a new, independent life.

The idea to bring the book Eiko Kadono to the screen in the form of an animated film originated in 1987, when the production company Fudosha immediately offered the post of director to Hayao Miyazaki .At first it was planned that the total duration of “Witch Delivery Service” would be no more than 70-80 minutes, but when Miyazaki finished work on “My Neighbor Totoro”, he decided to tackle the script more closely. Since the book consisted of separate stories telling about the adventures of Kiki, Miyazaki had to make significant changes to the plot to make it more coherent and coherent, along the way adding his own ideas. Upon learning of this, Mrs. Kadono became very angry, and she had to be persuaded for a long time so that she still allowed to film the book.

A certain country was chosen as the scene of action, not similar to either Japan or Europe. Miyazaki decided that events should develop in the so-called alternative Europe of the 1950s, in which there was no World War II. The city where Kiki settled had to correspond to the Japanese idea of an old European city, so to create it, the authors used photographs taken during a trip to Sweden, when Miyazaki’s negotiations with Astrid Lindgren about a possible film adaptation of “Pippi Longstocking” ended unsuccessfully …The main background of the fictional city of Koriko was made up of views of Stockholm, the island of Gotland and even Australian Adelaide, and the artists personally went there to get the best feel for the material for drawing. Koriko also acquired the features of cities such as Milan, San Francisco, Paris and Lisbon.

As a result, perhaps not an ingenious, but insanely sweet, beautiful and infinitely kind fairy tale was born, in which the story of growing up and the beginning of an independent life is clearly visible, as well as the balance between modern life and old traditions is considered. At the same time, Miyazaki never ceases to amaze both with the amazing moral purity of his characters, their respect for people (especially for the older generation) and love for the beauty of the world around them, and the highest quality of the drawing with impeccable attention to detail. Thus, the painting by the artist Ursula “The Ship Flying Above the Rainbow” was painted for the most part not by the artists of the studio, but by the students of the school for children with mental disabilities.

The incredibly cozy atmosphere of this lovely fairy tale can enchant viewers of all ages, so it is not surprising that Walt Disney Studios acquired the rights to distribute the film in the United States in 1996, and the English translation of the film was done quite carefully, with small inserts reflecting American realities.Of course, the audience enthusiastically accepted the tape – it turned out to be the highest-grossing film in 1989 in Japan, and American critics Roger Ibert and Gene Siskel made “The Witch Delivery Service” one of the best animated films of 1998. We can only be glad that such kind, touching and wonderful fairy tales find their place in the hearts of people all over the world.

Verdict: Not the most recognized in terms of awards, but from this no less charming work of the great wizard Hayao Miyazaki, captivating with its beauty, cozy atmosphere of childhood and faith in endless kindness.

90,000 from Guido Reni to Francis Bacon, from Andrea Pazienza to Kiki Smith ”Literary and Art Magazine“ ETAGI ”

“ You cannot embrace the immensity ”- this Kozmaprutkov maxim, claiming to be the ultimate truth, has firmly stuck in many heads. All the more interesting is any attempt to break the established stereotype, to go beyond its boundaries. “It’s quite possible,” – having met over a cup of coffee, decided the Italian artist Massimo Pulini and his colleague, fascinated by ancient art and history, Franco Pozzi. So, in the course of a relaxed friendly conversation, a brilliant idea was born to hold a Biennale of drawing in Rimini (by the way, the only thematic example in all of Europe!). First of all, they wanted to shake up, wake up a sleepy provincial town, breathe fresh air and celebration into its measured life. And it should be noted that the result exceeded even the wildest expectations. This year the Biennale was held for the second time – with the same resounding success as the first. For three months, the whole city (not only the tourist one that stretches along the sea, but also the so-called winter, historical) seethed and sparkled: 29 exhibitions at all available sites, endless master classes, conferences, lectures, meetings – in the city the museum and its new wing, which houses the “Construction Site of Drawing” (Cantiere Disegno), bringing together more than forty contemporary artists, at the Sigismondo Castle, at the Galli Theater, at the Gambalunga Palace, in the medieval podesta and arengo complex with the Factory of Arts (FAR), in ethnographic “Museum of Views”, in the Augustinian monastery, etc.D. Rimini was simply unrecognizable – not a trace remained of its former cultural “wilderness” – and not only outwardly, and not only the city itself, but also its surroundings. Therefore, I will not be at all wrong if I say that a new star has shone on the artistic map of Italy under the name “Rimini – the international capital of drawing”.

And the theme itself is in perfect harmony with this magical transformation, almost magical exposure. The great provocateur of all times and peoples, a virtuoso of lines and bizarre forms, Salvador Dali once said: “Drawing is the honesty of art.Deception is absolutely impossible here: either it is beautiful or ugly. ” This time, a trip to the painted country, which is uniquely related to the first part of this statement, brought together over two thousand works, both classics and contemporaries, from leading museum collections and prestigious private collections, including works that have not been exhibited anywhere before.

The exposition was built according to the principle “from to mca made of paper” – multi-tiered, whimsical, logical and, despite the beauty and abundance of details, it is quite simple. In a word, it was a metaphor for the universe, the “profiles” of which were presented at all exhibitions – from earth to sea and sky, from landscape to human body, from art schools for artisans of the past to current architectural projects. To get acquainted and comprehend, tell and remember. Ancient priceless drawings by Guido Reni, Guercino, Tiepolo, Galileo Chini, Canaletto conducted a meaningful and fascinating, and in fact, endless dialogue with the “young” – Francis Bacon ( Francis Bacon, Andrea Pazienza, Mario Schifano, Kiki Smith, Giuseppe Penone. As in life itself, the high here coexisted with the low, the terrible with the beautiful, the tragic with the comic. A collection of unpublished erotic drawings by Federico Fellini – ah, Signor Casanova, as Marina Tsvetaeva aptly put it, “a silk belt on a square as round as heaven” will never stop falling at your feet. Sophisticated and refined “Kamasutra” by Tonino Guerra, looking at which you would never guess that all this fantasy splendor was created by an 80-year-old man.The luxurious beauties of Domenico Rambelli are truly a real volume, expressed in simple lines on paper. The inexhaustible Mario Sironi, whom, as Signor Pulini pointed out, would be best described by the waters of a river. Laconic and perfect, referring to the very origins of human history, Tullio Pericoli not only gave pleasure from the Mediterranean landscape, but also allowed a glimpse into the holy of holies of the library. Alessandro Gambalunga – ancient halls filled with rare copies of books from the 16th -18th centuries and closed on ordinary days for general visits. The list is endless. Because, in fact, plunging into the history of the issue (from rock “primitive” to modern computer graphics) is like getting to know that “immense” – drawing, as the basis and beginning of all things, as a dry and rational statement of reality, a kind of chronicler of the era and events (remember at least one Eugene Delacroix with his Moroccan cycle or, from another, as they say, opera, but very characteristic Peter Greenaway with “The Draftsman’s Contract”).And, finally, as a self-sufficient and perfect work, filled with artistic magic and poetics. By the way, the mention of Greenaway is not even accidental – it is drawing that is able to “reconcile” not only all types of art, but even the past and the present, antiquity and modernist searches.

Towards the close, on the last day of the Biennale, its organizers made another great gift for the townspeople – a tour of all the main expositions accompanied by their curators. It turned out not only informative and exciting, but also very driving – a kind of six-hour hard marathon, without a single break, in almost 40-degree heat (there was no air conditioning in most rooms).I confess that even me, passionately in love with art (I attended exhibitions at every opportunity for all three months, frightening my family and friends with the stubbornness of a maniac), wearing stable heels and with a huge bottle of water, had a very difficult time, purely physically. I looked with undisguised surprise and respect at the lady of a very respectable age, who also did not leave the distance until the very end. However, it was worth it: if only because it was possible to get acquainted not only with the works, but also with their creators.

Here on the so-called construction site Vittorio D’Augusta is trying to deal with, alas, the eternal theme of war and peace in a rather peculiar manner, as if starting from Picasso’s paradoxical “painting is a craft for the blind”. A native of Trento, Luca Coser, who took part in the local biennale for the first time, confesses his constant love for lines and paper: “Despite the fact that I use many techniques and genres (painting, collage, sculpture, installation), for my It is the drawing that is very important to the creative biography ”.His works, presented here, are included in a numerous cycle (550 sheets), the leitmotif of which is old films and photographs, referring to psychology and linguistic choice, poetic declaration and formalistic reflections. He seems to want to express something that is hidden on the other side of reality. “These images, so attractive and mesmerizing, come from my childhood,” continues Signor Coser. – Thus, I reconstruct the past – my own and collective, belonging to more than one generation.During the Biennale I received many letters with questions and positive responses at the European level, so I am very pleased. ”

And here someone’s wings have lost their snow-white feathers, soaring in the air … I wonder what they hold on to? Coming close to the drawing, I realized that I had become a victim of “optical illusion” – white paper, black graphite, glass and nothing else. Daniela Alfarano, an artist from Modena, has built a bridge across the past to the future: “I dedicated this work to my mother, who died very early, when I was not even 15.These are her feathers, as well as all the guardian angels. How is the effect of movement in space achieved? Probably due to the lightness that reigned in my soul at the time of the creation of the picture. One day I will collect them all and fly away from the earth – into an imaginary parallel world. ” The touching smile of the lovely Daniela cannot leave anyone indifferent, as well as her bold ideas. Therefore, we will have patience and wait: flight, inspiration, old and new drawings, acquaintance with which in Rimini promises to be endless, like life itself.

MASSIMO PULINI: THE GREAT CHARM OF DRAWING

Development of the topic – in a conversation with Massimo Pulini, artist, art critic, writer, head of the department of culture and city museums of the municipality of Rimini.

On that distant winter day, when it was snowing, and you met Franco Pozzi in Piazza Cavour, why was it about drawing?

– Firstly, by accident (I immediately imagined how the whiteness of the snow contrasted with the dark palazzo, and, apparently, on a subconscious level, I suggested the idea of paper and a pencil lead – N.G. ), secondly, because Franco is in love with antique drawing, and thirdly, such an exhibition was lacking not only at the national, but also at the international, European level. Everyone is well aware of the Venice Biennale, but it is dedicated exclusively to contemporary art, for which the beautiful city itself serves as a kind of frame, framing it. In addition, many cultural and scientific festivals have been organized in Italy over the past 20 years. For example, writers gather in Mantua, philosophers in Modena, economists in Trento, lawyers in Piacenza, and I am sure that it is possible to coordinate all these events into a single system. For us here, in Rimini, it was interesting to bring together absolutely everything: not only genres and types with which the drawing is somehow connected (literature, music, architecture, cinema, design, fashion, science, etc.), but and various time and cultural eras. Our first Biennale consisted of 24 exhibitions, this time there were already 29 of them. Perhaps this figure will seem too large to some, but we wanted to make the exposition truly deep, adequate to the topic itself. After all, it is drawing that affects human experience in all its volume, in all spheres of activity.Let’s look around: we are surrounded by drawings, they are everywhere – from paintings that are not only in museums, but in every home, to road signs, from an inscription on the facade of a supermarket to a list in our hands of what needs to be bought. Therefore, when someone says that he does not know how to draw, this is not true, it is rather a kind of erroneous psychological attitude. We are all excellent draftsmen, but not everyone knows about it and not everyone creates works of art.

Yes, my most vivid impression was this effect of volume, synthesis and infinity, created in the exhibition halls, which you just mentioned.Rimini and its surroundings seemed to be permeated, captured by this idea. So, despite its youth, the Biennale was not deprived of lack of attention?

– From the very beginning, we tried to involve all potential participants in this process – the largest national galleries (last time among them was the famous Uffizi, today – the Pinacoteca of Bologna and the Museum of Reggio Emilia), private collections, publishing houses, architectural and design studios, art workshops, creative associations, archives, libraries, bookstores, thus creating an open space, free movement.Yes, we are very young, starting from scratch, as they say, but we already have very important contacts and agreements. So, this year large collectors from England and Belgium worked with us. I would like to have closer relations with Russia. (On my first visit, at one of the exhibitions, I immediately drew attention to our compatriot Ekaterina Panikanova, originally from St. Petersburg, living and working recently in Italy, who creates multi-layered paintings on the pages of old books, synopses and textbooks – N …G. ). I hope the Biennale will “mature” very quickly, but will not lose its wings. The potential for this idea is huge. Next time it is planned to reduce the number of sections, but expand the geography.

If you look at the economic side of the issue, what could this initiative give to the city, in addition to cultural prestige?

– Both the first and second biennials were attended by about 50 thousand people. This despite the fact that this year the entrance was already paid. The total budget itself is scanty: only 365 thousand rubles were spent on all 29 exhibitions with everything you need, including catalogs.Euro – usually that much is spent on organizing one exposition. Of these, only 165 thousand were paid by the municipality, the rest were received from sponsors. We have also begun to create a collection in which artists leave, completely free of charge, their drawings. Thus, the funds of the city museum are significantly enriched. And this is just the beginning.

At the last Bologna fair of contemporary art, held in January of this year, everything was literally permeated with the spirit of organized commerce – there seems to be no trace of the idea of free creativity, with its ups and downs. It is not surprising that the number of fans of arte contemporanea is falling rapidly, and the idea itself is discredited and devalued. Perhaps the biennial of drawing can become the very bridge between tradition and the search for new ideas and forms.

– Absolutely! I am sure that it is in the drawing that antiquity and modernity can finally get along, find the long-awaited peace and quiet. In fact, there is now a real war between the old and the new. In fact, what happened in the visual arts of the 20th century was a real earthquake, a global division that radically changed both attitudes, and the way of thinking, and views on many things. However, this process went more smoothly precisely in the world of drawing, its very technique remains almost classical, despite the fact that, in fact, it is always the main field for trial, error and discovery. This duality (conservation + experiment) endows the drawing with endless charm and tremendous creative power. If we place next to a painting by Raphael and one of the installations of the Venice Biennale, we will hardly find something in common. But if we compare the drawings of the same Raphael or Leonardo and any contemporary artist, these differences will no longer be so sharp, and in some cases even barely perceptible.Even if we are talking about computer graphics, all the same, in one way or another, there is a relationship between sign and space, a kind of chiaroscuro – just like in the drawings of the old masters.

There is another problem. Today, for example, a designer, an architect and a painter hardly communicate with each other. This is very sad. Look at Rimini, its beauty, like any ancient Italian city, comes from the time when different crafts and arts talked, there was a kind of polytechnic, polyphony between them. There were also unified schools, uniting all directions, where drawing was always taken as a basis. We can also remember about special educational institutions for workers, blacksmiths, shoemakers, decorators, etc., in which they were taught to draw. Unfortunately, this dialogue, so important and necessary, was interrupted in the 20th century. But the more I immerse myself in this topic, the more clearly I realize that the drawing will help restore the lost connections. Even in modern art schools, drawing technique continues to be a fundamental point.Because color, like an orchestra, it starts to sound later, and you should always start with one musical instrument – a drawing.

Today, ideas are very popular according to which painting in general and drawing in particular are used in the treatment of complex and advanced diseases. What do you think about this?

– These ideas can turn out to be very true, because drawing means nothing more than pulling out the thread of your soul. This is a kind, very intense psychoanalysis, when, at the end of the work, the artist looks at his creation as if in a mirror.“I am writing to find out what I think” – this can be said about any work. Very rarely taking a pencil in hand clearly represents the end result, often the drawing seems to carry along, sometimes completely in the opposite direction from the original idea. “Drawing is a journey through lines.” Anyone who has a dog will perfectly understand the meaning of this phrase belonging to Paul Klee: after all, it is not the owner who walks it, but vice versa. So is the drawing: after a few lines, he tells the artist things that he did not even know about. This is a miracle, a real miracle that really exists. And, of course, the mysterious dynamics inherent in painting can help, both in treatment and in the process of self-discovery.

Thus, we will not be mistaken if we say that artists are the healthiest people in the world. And Goya, and Bosch, and Bacon …

– I think so. Because it is art that is one of the few things in the creation of which a person should neither regret nor be ashamed. Any creativity, even one that responds not so much to beauty as to the drama of life, enriches and transforms our world for the better.
