J brand in australia: Premium Denim Jeans and Ready to Wear

J Brand About Us

OUR STORY

J BRAND is a leader not just in the sustainable denim and fashion spaces—we aim to embody the elevated lifestyle of today’s consumer. We create denim and ready-to-wear pieces with an emphasis on innovation and sustainability, and a keen awareness of the impact we have on the world at large. We are passionate in our belief that the person makes the outfit, not the other way around, and that passion drives us to constantly ideate, create, and innovate.

J BRAND was originally founded in 2005 in Los Angeles, the original premium denim brand based in DTLA—the denim capital of the world. At the brand’s first fittings, the designers renounced the relaxed fit that was mainstream at the time, and the first true skinny jean was born. As the first denim company to introduce a skinny silhouette to the global market, J BRAND soon introduced other directional silhouettes and fabrications: the Maria high-rise skinny, Natasha, Carolina, our trademark Photo Ready denim—as well as its high-definition follow-up, Photo Ready HD—and the leather L8001, which has been a celebrity-loved staple since the brand’s inception. Today, these styles are the foundation of our DNA and are known as the permanent Icons. The debut men’s collection launched in 2008, and the first women’s ready-to-wear line came in Spring 2012, featuring luxe materials and a modern design sensibility.

J BRAND is offered worldwide at Net-A-Porter, MyTheresa.com, Selfridges, Harrod’s, Harvey Nichols, Bergdorf Goodman, Paris’ Printemps and Le Bon Marché, and Milan’s Biffi and Antonia, among others. Currently, the brand’s products are available in 56 countries the world over. Designer collaborators include Halpern, Kozaburo Akasaka, Bella Freud, Rob Pruitt, Simone Rocha, Proenza Schouler, and Christopher Kane.

The brand has collaborated with celebrities like Christy Turlington Burns—the star of our Spring 2020 campaign—Elsa Hosk, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, Kate Bosworth, and Stephanie Shepherd, whose exclusive design sold out in less than 24 hours. The brand’s recent creative partnership with supermodel and brand ambassador Elsa Hosk realized a sustainably minded capsule collection of forward denim and leather pieces that are beloved by the VIP set globally.

J Brand is an American denim clothing company which was founded in 2005 in Low Angeles. In the early days, they only offered women’s denim, with the 811 skinny style becoming one of the most popular sellers. J Brand has worked with many fashion designers and has created iconic selling pants in department stores such as Bloomingdales. Now, the brand has created iconic jeans for men as well as women, with low rise, high rise, with a variety of cuts available. The jeans are high quality, and some even offer sustainable solutions. For whatever jeans you need, J Brand can meet your requirements to find the perfect match for your style, size, and shape.

Sustainability at J Brand

As jeans are made out of denim, which is one of the most water intensive materials out there, J brand has decided to create a sustainable collection. Some of the jeans in this collection are created from recycled denim, while others use a wash process that requires on average 90% less water than traditional washes. The sustainable denim at J brand are created up to 30% of recycled cotton. If you care about the planet, opting for one of the jeans from this collection is a great option for a staple in your closet. Keep an eye out for the Maria High Rise Jeans, Natasha Sky High Super Skinny, Alana High Rise, Sallie Mid Rise, Jules High Rise, or Jules High Rise. The factory that creates J Brand jeans is based in the United States, giving customers a better sense of where the products are made and what quality they could expect.

Icons at J Brand

One of the cool things about the pants at J Brand, is that all the designs have been named after fashion icons in the industry. Some of these include Adele, Selena, Natasha, Leenah, Maria and more. The pants available in a range of styles, including super skinny black leather, high rise trousers, boot cut in reality, mid-rise cropped, or other styles. They not only create jeans, but also other pants made from leather, and other materials. You will be able to find many of these on eBay, whether they are new or preloved. Some of the jeans fit slightly smaller than the size, so make sure to double check your measurements before purchasing any of the pants. The leather pants can be a tight fit since they have less stretch than cotton with elastane. Other jeans also include some Lyocell, which are textiles that have been certified as sustainable. Lyocell is 100% recyclable and has been created with a closed loop system where the chemicals used in making the material are recycled and can be used repeatedly. This makes Lyocell an incredible eco-friendly fabric and a step forward in the creation of environmentally friendly textiles.

Jeans at J Brand

The jeans at J Brand are created from a mixture of cotton, and elastane. Meaning they are comfortable and stretchy for everyday use. The comfort stretch denim is designed to hug all the right places and has excellent recovery. The jeans have a thick elastane fibre woven into the fabric’s weft, which means the material has compact construction that gives the material a sturdy feel. To keep the jeans looking great and staying in good condition, it is a good idea to only wash inside out with like colours. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron. One thing that sets the J brand jeans apart from many other jeans on the market, is that they were designed and made in the United States of America. This means that workers get fairer wages, and working conditions are better than many of the fast fashion companies around the world. This explains the higher price tag or many of the jeans.

If you are looking for high waisted jeans, J Brand has a wide range available for you. These have been a popular choice in the past couple of years after their revival in fashion. Mid-rise jeans on the other hand, have been a staple since the 90s, and J Brand has consistently made many styles to fit your daily needs.

Jean Shorts for Women
Along with the wide collection of full-length jeans, J brand has also created a wide range of shorts for women. Some are denim, while others are cargo shorts for any occasion. The denim shorts come with stylish colours including acid wash, grey cuts, and dark denim. Many of the shorts also include fraying and tears, which has been popular in fashion for the past several years. The cargo shorts, which can be a great option for daily wear, comfortable for a day out in the park or the beach, have large pockets which can easily fit your cell phone and wallet. While majority of the shorts available are short shorts, J Brand has also created some more modest high waisted and knee length short alternatives. All of the shorts are made out of cotton, require no ironing, and allow you to have a versatile and high-quality piece in your closet for summer time.

Men’s Jeans at J Brand

J Brand has expanded its collections to create iconic and simple jeans for men. Just like the women’s jeans, they are made from a combination of cotton and elastane and use technologies which require 90% less water with some jeans using up to 30% recycled cotton material. These measures decrease the overall environmental footprint of jeans, meaning you can feel great about your purchase in terms of the planet. These men’s jeans also come in a variety of colours and styles on eBay, allowing you to choose from relaxed brown jeans, black slim fits, distressed greys, or classic navy coloured jeans. The men’s jeans can be easily dressed down with a t-shirt and running shoes or dressed up with classic dress shoes and a collared shirt. It is easy to see the jeans are of high quality, therefore they could be worn for smart casual occasions such as date nights, events, parties and more.

#2 Are J Brand Jeans True to Size?

The answer to this question is, sometimes. It’s advised to either choose your usual size or go down a size when it comes to J Brand jeans. We suggest ordering both sizes and trying them on at home just to be sure.

#3 How to Wash J Brand Jeans?

We’re all guilty of over washing our jeans and J Brand is quite the advocate of putting this habit to bed. Not only will it help the environment but it will also maintain the quality of your denim. When you wash denim it breaks down the fibres in the garment which in turn reduces the overall stiffness, not washing your jeans too often also helps to preserve the colour. Instead of washing your jeans, J Brand suggest popping them into a pillow case and into the freezer overnight. This will give your jeans a refresher, kill all germs and act as a quick wash. Do this as often as you find necessary. However, if you find yourself covered in ketchup, a quick spin in the washing machine may be unavoidable!

#4 Where are J Brand Jeans Made?

Almost every pair of J Brand Jeans is made in their downtown LA headquarters, USA.

#5 Are J Brand Jeans Sustainable?

In 2018 J Brand kick started their efforts to become more sustainable. Demonstrating their conscious effort to make more sustainable choices when it comes to the overall production of their products, the brand launched their first ever 10-piece sustainable collection launching in A/W18. The selection of denim was designed and produced with a reduction in waste, chemicals and water usage as priority. Since this the brand has gone on to implement further sustainable strategies such as using recycled cotton, botanical polyesters and biodegradable Tencel fibres. As well as sustainably sourcing the finer details such as buttons, zippers, recycled paper for hang tags and threads.

J Brand and Elsa Hosk have teamed up to design the perfect pair of eco-friendly jeans

A leader in denim excellence ever since the release of its instant hit “skinny” jeans, J Brand is confident as ever. Launched in Los Angeles in 2005, the denim brand has given itself the mission of developing new eco-friendly and durable pairs of jeans.

J Brand has collaborated with many an influencer over the years, and each resulting piece has been an instant sell-out. Its latest high-profile collaboration? A denim collection with Victoria’s Secret Model Elsa Hosk. The top-model has been a loyal supporter of the brand for some time, stating that J Brand jeans were: “The first designer jeans I bought when I came to the US.” The exclusive capsule collection is inspired by the Swedish model’s wardrobe, combining vintage treasures with more up-to-date pieces.

From the initial design process to the naming of the collection, Elsa Hosk has taken a front-seat role in the development of this collaborative effort. She’s also made sure to prove her commitment to eco-friendly practices, stating: “I’m proud to say that all the blue jeans in this collection use 90% less water in production, and the rest of the jeans use upcycled fabrics to cut down on waste.”

Comprised of 11 pieces, including blazers, and jeans, the collection tests the innovative spirit of the denim brand. The collaborative effort focuses on creating durable denims using recycled materials, and employs the most advanced technological techniques for water treatment.

90,000 5 Australian Fashion Brands Meghan Markle Loves | Vogue Ukraine

Australia is so far from the traditional centers of fashion that it seems that local girls wear only swimsuits, denim shorts, cowboy boots and are not interested in fashion at all. In fact, the distant continent supplies the world market with a lot of really interesting brands. A new round of attention to them happened thanks to the Duchess of Sussex, who, during her 16-day tour of Australia and Oceania, more than once chose local brands.Vogue.ua has chosen the main ones.

Zimmermann

The Zimmermann brand was founded in Australia in 1991 by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, who wanted to convey the lifestyle and spirit of a cheerful and sunny Australia through clothing. The first full show of the Zimmermann brand took place as part of the Australian Fashion Week in Sydney in 1996, when the sisters decided to show their swimwear among the brands of casual wear, and thus made a mini-revolution.

After the show, buyers from Harvey Nichols ordered the entire collection without a trace, and this opened the door to the big fashion world for Zimmermann. By the way, for the design of their swimwear, Nicky and Simone received a special award in 1999, which was presented as part of the Australian Fashion Week. Since 2014, the sisters have shown their collections as part of New York Fashion Week, and the Duchess of Sussex likes to wear their delicate dresses made of silk and lace.

Emma Mulholland

Brand: Holiday by Emma Mulholland Famous for: Casual T-shirts with prints and colorful dresses
When founded: 2017

The brand name speaks for itself: at Holiday by Emma Mulholland you will find swimwear, oversized T-shirts, floral dresses, plastic sunglasses and other things that you just want to fill your vacation suitcase with.

Brand founder Emma Mulholland draws inspiration from her own travels, Australian nature and the surfing aesthetic of the 1990s. Holiday is not her first brand: in 2011, the girl began to release Emma Mulholland clothes, in which Kanye West and M.I.A. appeared, but soon she wanted to do something more ironic and close to her customers.

Jade Sarita Arnott

Brand: Arnsdorf Known for: Casual evening wear
When founded: 2006, relaunched – 2016

Melbourne-based young designer Jade Sarita Arnott launched her brand back in 2006.Despite the fact that things seemed to be going well – Cate Blanchett and Roshin Murphy were seen in her dresses – six years later, Jade closed the production due to financial problems and, as she herself admitted, fatigue and lack of inspiration.

But in 2016 she returned with renewed vigor and presented modern, elegant clothes made from organic cotton and linen. In order to protect nature, the designer has abandoned synthetic fabrics and non-degradable materials and has set herself the goal of making things that will serve customers as long as possible.

Ana Piteira

Brand: Valet Studio What is famous for: expressive earrings and large translucent hairpins
When founded: 2017

The boom in jewelry in the spirit of the 1990s played into Ana’s hand: her large hair crabs, multi-colored “fluffy” hairpins and translucent plastic earrings quickly became a hit among Sydney fashionistas. Piteira is inspired by family heirlooms from her own jewelry box and old photographs and always tries to make things with a unique shape and unusual texture: when working on earrings, for example, she deliberately gives them uneven, like cut edges.

Ana also has a second jewelry brand, Reliquia, where you can find more classic pieces of gold and pearls, often played in a fashionable nautical theme. The designer plans to expand the assortment and release the debut collection of bags.

Amanda Nichols

Brand: Replica Project Famous for: flying skirts and feminine coats
When founded: 2018

Amanda is not an absolute newcomer to the industry: although she graduated from the design department at the Royal University of Technology of Melbourne just last year, she has worked in a small Parisian atelier, where she sewed details for Givenchy and Schiaparelli couture dresses.

Amanda Nichols

For the Replica Project, Amanda creates items from sustainable materials and even uses recycled plastic nylon and fabric made from fishing nets. In terms of design, Nichols focuses on the feminine classics and strives to create coats and dresses that you will want to wear in five years and still look modern.

Go shopping: Australian brands – Simple + Beyond

Australia is a dream. We have already talked about our beloved girls on Australian Instagram. And one of the reasons for our love is the ability of these girls to dress. Those who follow them with us will agree that Australians love their brands very much.

The wave of interest in designers from Australia began several years ago. All glossy magazines in the world from Vogue to H&M Magazine and Business of Fashion portals wrote that Australians were conquering the planet. Then I found out about Cameo (now C / meo) Collective and Fingers Keepers. Today, there are much more famous and beloved brands among Western bloggers. This post is dedicated to popular and really beautiful brands, whose things you want to buy in whole lines and fly in them to warmer regions.

The SIR brand creates simple, minimalist clothing designed to emphasize the femininity of the wearer. Taking inspiration from the best fashion ideas of the past and trying them on a modern girl, SIR does things that will not lose their relevance today and will be appropriate in the future. And although it is extremely risky to wear this in Moscow, and the weather gives only a couple of really hot days a year, the famous Gigi dress and Liv jumpsuit can be worn without taking off in any city in the world where palm trees grow on the street.

It so happened that for the first time really beautiful sets that look much more interesting than dresses as an outfit for going out, I found at C / meo Collective. Only later did Maje and Sandro appear in my world. But since my biggest fashion fear is double-dressing, in C / meo it is extremely unlikely.C / meo is my favorite minimalism and silhouette game. The brand produces 11 small collections a year, each of which is a separate experiment within the framework of the general theme of the brand, but at the same time with its own shapes and textures. The brand is proud of its clients: Solange Knowles, Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner and Emma Roberts.

Finders Keepers in my mind is close to C / meo, but there is still a slight difference: FK is a little simpler and in current collections experiments more with color and prints.Among the fans of the brand are the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Iggy Azalea and Jessica Alba.

At the Keepsake brand, you need to look for not so strict, rather more classic dresses and sets for special occasions. The brand also has several lines that differ in style and mood. Each line of clothing has a series of underwear and sleeping sets with the same name and idea. The list of brand admirers is not inferior to C / meo and FK: Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Mila Kunis, Reese Witherspoon.

The Fifth Label clothes are suitable for every day, they will be easy to wear in the Moscow climate. The Fifth designers strive to create clothes that are truly comfortable and simple – hence the uncomplicated colors, understandable prints, relaxed silhouettes. The result is normcore, but not as crazy as it was at the beginning of its popularity, but more accurate and calm.

FAITHFULL THE BRAND is not exactly Australian. It was invented by Norwegian Helle Them-Enger and Australian Sarah-Jane Abrahams, and organized their production in Bali. And so it happened that FAITHFULL combined Scandinavian minimalism with Australian ease. Every time I look at the page of this brand on SHOPBOP, I want to teleport to the Bounty commercial.

These stamps can be ordered to Russia: the usual SHOPBOP and REVOLVE have many of them, but the collections are far from being presented in full. In addition, some official stores of the brands themselves carry out international delivery using DHL (which for me is the determining factor in choosing a store – I cannot sit still after buying, and even tracking DHL I update several times a day, what kind of Russian Post is there with its speeds …).But the main places to buy things from these designers are multi-brands that have collected the most interesting brands in Oceania, Birdcage and Fashion Bunker, which deliver to Russia with DHL.

90,000 5 Australian brands to remember

What do we know about Australian fashion? The distant continent is full of mysteries, but it has its own heroes, famous all over the world. We all know Nicole Kidman and Kylie Minogue, but who should you look out for in Australian fashion today?

Romance Was Born

Designers Anna Plunket and Luke Sales founded the brand while working on a joint university project. They then took part in ITS # FOUR, a program that supports young talent in the fashion industry. Having presented their debut collection, the girls won an internship with John Galliano. Unprepared for life in Europe, Anna and Luke returned to Australia and founded Romance Was Born in 2015.The designers chose the concept of brightness and originality. Their feminine silhouettes echo the desire to decorate every thing in detail. Vibrant colors and lustrous textures are balanced by closed silhouettes. The idea of the brand is that women’s clothing carries not only sexuality, but also a non-standard story. For 11 years of work, the duo boasts sales in New York (retailer Moda Operandi), Paris, Tokyo, Sydney and others. Among the famous clients of the brand: Miley Cyrus, Chanel Iman, Lindsay Wixon, Nicole Schenzinger and Daphne Guinness, Cate Blanchett and others.

Melbourne-based brand Bridie & Julie Davy introduces a “new sexuality” – modest yet alluring. Oats the label has released only three collections – mostly in silk and linen. Naturalness is one of the brand’s distinctive features. The silhouettes are simple and airy, and the colors are tones of Australian nature. The latest collections have been inspired by the art of Henri Matisse and Juan Miro. The flair of the 70s can be traced, with an atmosphere of lightness and special sexuality. The girl from Oats the label is homey and dreamy, but at the same time ready for an adventure.

Christopher Esber

At the age of 25, Christopher Esber made his debut with a collection of women’s clothing and immediately established himself as a promising designer. He was soon awarded the National Design Award, which gave him the opportunity to become a member of the American sales office and one of the candidates for the show during London Fashion Week.As fashion critics note, Christopher’s work is filled with simplicity and sophisticated techniques. The designer is not afraid to experiment with materials, silhouettes and all kinds of draperies. Popular fashionistas of Australia appreciated the originality of his outfits: fashion editor of Australian Vogue Christine Centener, actress Phoebe Tonkin and model Lara Bingle.

One Teaspoon

The aesthetics of a rebellious spirit were definitely embedded in this youth brand. The brand specializes in denim clothing, leather jackets, bold lettering, and frivolous grunge-styled dresses. The brand is tailored to the modern fashion situation, where Gosha Rubchinsky and Demna Gvasalia are at the helm, creating understandable pieces with sexy silhouettes and a sense of liberation from convention.

C / meo Collective

The C / meo Collective brand can be confidently declared a direct competitor to the queen of minimalism Gilles Zander.Like the British designer, the Australian brand has focused on cleanliness, comfort and cleanliness. However, the concept of C / meo Collective did not come from a blind inheritance of the trend, but from a practical application. Most Australians love simple and unobtrusive clothing. Therefore, a brand that combines all these qualities is held in high esteem by local women. A favorite technique of designers is playing with silhouettes and a non-standard combination of shades.

90,000 Australia has a national brand

Australia has a national brand that will represent the country in the international arena. You won’t find a kangaroo there – the continent’s symbol remains on the Australian Made logo, which will continue to be used to promote export products. The new identity is based on the Australian mimosa flower, also known as the Australian acacia or Golden Wattle. The signature palette consists of dark green and gold colors. AU or Australia will be present in the logo (if there are difficulties with transcription).

The brand book was developed by Clemenger BBDO and approved by the Nation Brand Advisory Council. Its members recommended the government to accept the project.

The goal of creating a national brand is to improve Australia’s image with foreign investors and to increase the visibility of its products and capabilities. The Council notes that the international community is aware of the country’s natural wealth and the friendliness of its people, but business, technology and science remain “overshadowed” by the beautiful landscapes and unique flora / fauna.

Strengthening the business reputation is designed to contribute to the growth of the national economy.Through a national brand, the country expects to attract people who are willing to invest, study, work and travel, and buy Australian products. The target markets for Australia are China, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the United States and the United Kingdom.

It took almost a year and a half to develop a national brand. During this time, a large-scale study was carried out, during which 16 thousand people were interviewed in the domestic and international markets. Thus, the experts studied how the country is perceived in and outside its borders. The respondents noted such qualities of Australians as optimism and friendliness. One of the most popular narratives turned out to be Only in Australia, reflecting the uniqueness of the region. For this, international consumers are willing to give preference to local products.

The Council recognizes that mimosa is less known outside the continent than kangaroo. However, the logo was well received by the respondents. It will require support in the short term in order to become highly recognizable, but it will allow you to write a story from scratch.

However, not everyone liked the identity. Some critics have found the new brand to be similar to the coronavirus.

90 092 90 000 Emu Australia Brand Story & Interesting Facts

How did the brand come about and why did children and adults love it so much? Emu Australia celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2020.Serious age, isn’t it? How did the brand come about and why did children and adults love it so much? Let’s find out.

UGGH HISTORY

The brand was born in 1995, but its history began much earlier. Australia has always been considered the largest supplier of sheep products – wool and sheepskin. Even in the first half of the 19th century, poor immigrants from Europe, engaged in breeding merino, in a short time received a decent profit and became wealthy industrialists.

After a while, in 1948, a man named Gordon Jackson opened his own production of sheep wool and tanned sheepskin.Things were going well, but the business was not very successful. Everything changed in a moment.

The unexpected turn happened thanks to surfers. In the 70s of the XX century, lovers of waves and thrills were drawn to the Australian coast. Young people began to use locally sourced wool to keep warm after long periods in the ocean. They bought raw materials from the Jackson’s company and sewed shoes themselves, like felt boots. Wool perfectly wicks moisture away, warms feet, but does not cause overheating – an ideal material of natural origin.

Such “felt boots” were named “Ugly”, which translated from English means “ugly, scary”. The shoes really looked ugly, but they were practical.

Later the name was transformed into “ugg boots”, and the boots themselves acquired a more attractive look.

Ugg boots became especially popular due to the fact that they were noticed by celebrities from Hollywood. Fans of Australian felt boots are Cameron Diaz, Courtney Cox, Denis Richards, Katie Holmes and others.

BRAND BIRTH

Gordon Jackson, seeing the demand for woolen boots, decided to produce similar shoes on the basis of his own enterprise. Initially, surfers remained the main customers, but in 1994 they managed to launch a line that is in demand among the general population. A little later, the company was bought by Andrew Raggett, who was not indifferent to surfing. It was then that the Emu Australia trademark appeared.

“Emu” – comes from the name of the emu ostrich living in Australia.Along with the kangaroo, the bird is also a symbol of the country. The emu paw print is depicted on the boxes of the brand’s products, and the boxes themselves are painted in a bright turquoise shade – the color of ostrich eggs.

Over time, Emu Australia products began to be sold in Europe and America, and by 2007 the company was ranked second among shoe brands represented in the UK.

Today Emu Australia produces shoes, accessories and clothing for men, women and children.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES OF EMU AUSTRALIA

SHOES

The wool of such sheep is characterized by increased density and softness. In addition, it is a hypoallergenic material that does not have its own odor. It retains heat well and wicks moisture away. Wool shoes maintain an optimal body temperature, so they are comfortable in them at any time of the year. The foot always remains warm and dry.

Boots and boots from Emu are covered with a special water-repellent impregnation, which is also applied to all external seams. The shoes can be used even in wet weather.

The Emusol outsole is multi-layered for softness and excellent cushioning. The relief on the outside protects against slipping.

Ugg boots are often not recommended for small children. Orthopedists refer to the fact that the baby’s leg in Australian felt boots is not fixed, which leads to its incorrect formation. However, the sole from Emu is designed taking into account the anatomical features of the foot, which means it is absolutely safe for children.
