New York Fashion Week Returns. Here’s the Cliffs Notes Version.
You know something has changed when the biggest celebrity at a fashion show is not Gina Gershon or Nicky Hilton, but Kathy Hochul, the new governor of New York.
Yet as the first New York Fashion Week since February 2020 began and Ms. Hochul took her place in the front row at Prabal Gurung’s show in Robert F. Wagner Jr. Park on the tip of Battery Park, she was mobbed by a stream of selfie-seeking attendees. It was a sign — as if any were needed — that we’re on the verge of a new era.
Shows are back. The audience in most of its gaudy plumage has returned: street-style peacocks in fuchsia sequins stalking the sidewalks in midafternoon. They’re borne through the city in the hushed environs of the black Town Car and then disgorged from the quiet dimness in a clacking herd — despite the fact the footwear of choice is now a fashion Birkenstock or sneaker.
The city itself had a starring role. The skyline acted as the backdrop for Peter Do’s debut show, held at a drive-in in Greenpoint; the verdant hillocks of Little Island and rolling waves of the Hudson River framed Proenza Schouler’s looks; the lights of the city as seen from the observation deck of the Empire State Building twinkled behind LaQuan Smith’s runway.
The general vibe was joy at the chance to be in-person again, with an undertone of inchoate unease. A lot of the crowd was masked, but a lot of it wasn’t (usually the celebrity lot). Face coverings seemed uncomfortably like an accessory, rather than a crucial safety measure.
Everything felt eerily familiar, but also, as Diane von Furstenberg (who did not have a show) said, “very different.” It’s easy to scratch your head and wonder why a fashion show matters. Yet after 20 months of isolation and dressing largely for the kitchen table, this is now, perhaps more than ever in recent memory, a time when the question of what to wear next has real currency.
So what’s the answer?
Consider the Trends
“You dress for the mess,” Hillary Taymour of Collina Strada wrote in her show notes. Then, amid the scallions and sunflowers of the Brooklyn Grange, the largest rooftop garden in New York, she sent out an exuberant riot of overdyed pastels, oversize cargo pants and upcycled materials, pannier-padded tank dresses and beetle-shaped breastplates, all layered willy-nilly on running, skipping, hand-holding friends of a variety of ages and affinities.
Nature was, predictably, a thing, inspiring the floral-strewn boho-deluxe scarf dresses at Altuzarra and blossom-smudged cottons at Jason Wu, who had one of his best shows in seasons. Mushroom prints were popping up all over.
So was Americana, with Tory Burch offering an ode to Claire McCardell, the godmother of sportswear, in the form of off-kilter shirtdresses, and Brandon Maxwell embracing pink and green and shorts and sweats. Gingham was everywhere, including at Prabal Gurung and at Coach, where it was blown up to mega proportions in a Bonnie-Cashin-meets-skate-style combo.
But the single most omnipresent item was the bra top, on pretty much every runway: in colored glass over a tee at Maryam Nassir Zadeh; in silver sequins under a white tuxedo in a Michael Kors Collection full of lacy dance dresses and shoulder-baring necklines.
“People want to show off their bodies,” Mr. Kors said. “Whether they are 20 or 70, size 2 or size 22. They want to feel good about themselves!”
And the Possibility of a Return to the Office
They also want a bridge between where we’ve been (swaddled and scared) and where we may be going (back to the office?).
This is what Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were thinking in their Proenza Schouler show. “It’s a celebration of a newfound freedom that feels slightly fragile still,” Mr. McCollough said of the cropped trousers that curved just a bit from thigh to calf to leave room around the legs, slope-shoulder jackets and fluid trench coats. Also the tunics with a whiff of the New Look and elbow-length sleeves dangling jet bead fringe and long, lean high-neck dresses with four tiers of fringe at the skirt.
But it could apply equally well to Peter Do’s elegant meditation on the shirtdress as a crucial component of the four-part suit, and Gabriela Hearst’s artisanal knits, created in conjunction with crafts collectives in Bolivia, Uruguay and the Navajo Nation, which feed the soul while they wrap the silhouette.
Not to mention Sergio Hudson’s way with proportion, seen in tone-on-tone red trousers with just a bit of flare, matching turtleneck, sweeping greatcoat and belt with a big circular gold buckle. Michelle Obama wore a similar outfit to President Biden’s inauguration and looked like the Washington version of a superhero. It’s one way to make a (re) entrance.
That’s why Moschino’s “baby ladies,” a candy-colored parade of little 1960s miniskirt-lunching suits and pussy-bow shirtdresses in gingham and bouclé festooned with stuffed animals: bunnies and lambies and duckies — plus, for evening, an asymmetric patchwork baby blanket gown with a sleeve replaced by an elephant’s trunk — struck such an odd note.
Levity is a good look out in the world but infantilization, not so much.
The Shadow of Sept. 11
For two decades now, there has been something surreal about sitting through a fashion show (or many fashion shows) on Sept. 11. This year it felt especially so, when practically everywhere you looked there were memorials and homages to the fallen and the significance of the moment — except on the runway.
Yet fashion and Sept. 11 are irrevocably linked, with the attack occurring just as New York Fashion Week began, and because the events that moment set in motion shaped what came after. No one knows this more than Rachel Comey, part of the generation of designers whose business was founded the year the towers fell. This week was her 20th anniversary, too.
Eschewing her usual friends ‘n’ family dinner theater, she and the choreographer Beth Gill offered a crowd in constant flux: walking, embracing, undressing, melting off desk chairs and otherwise interacting in graphic printed dresses, elegant black jumpsuits, twinkling culottes and crafty artist’s smocks. It was messy and confusing and hard to figure out where to look. A reminder of life, in its complicated glory.
Thom Browne, speaking from a microphone in the darkness, held a moment of silence in acknowledgment of the day and then unveiled a collection in three acts based on the 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard titled “The Garden of Time.”
First came a trademark ode to the four pieces of the tailored gray suit; next, a meditation on proportion and the power of the missing piece, layering austere tunics with mismatched sleeves atop maxi skirts. And finally, a rainbow of what looked like the simplest T-shirt dresses silk-screened to mimic the drapery of Greek and Roman statuary that turned out not to be printed at all, but rather trompe l’oeil masterpieces built from layers and layers of tulle, each one containing hand-pieced and appliquéd shadows, like a topographical map of memory.
They had an elegiac quality, as did Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s Rodarte show, held in the sculpture-festooned courtyard of the Westbeth Artists Housing complex, with black-and-white slip dresses trailing fronds of lace that caught just so in the breeze and parachute silks looped up behind to billow in the wind. At the end, the models appeared barefoot, in matching silk dresses in shades of cream, from ivory to gold to shell pink, like a host of angels, come to earth. Or a cult, depending on your point of view.
What to Watch
In the end “New York Fashion Week: The Return” closed a bit like a Ryan Murphy mini-series: in a discorama shower of glitz and Technicolor, with very high production values and a star-studded cast that disguised a questionable story line.
Tom Ford took the starring role in Lincoln Center, with a show of bedazzled loungewear cut with a dash of black leather, deep-pile velvet culotte suits and corsetry. There were tank tops spray-painted silver and denim-washed in gold. A finale “bride” wearing 24-karat sweats, a bikini top and a trailing silver trench. It was like the parody version of past career hits filtered through a working-from-home lens and then doused in Swarovski and glittering with the promise We Will Go Out Again.
Hopefully, he’s not wrong. But it can also feel like magical thinking; the fashion equivalent of “build it and they will come.” (Design it and they will socialize!)
There’s a growing fault line opening up in New York fashion between the brands that made their names in a time at the end of the last century when the city was shaped by its bonfire of the vanities, and the brands that emerged thereafter.
On one side are those like Mr. Ford and Carolina Herrera, whose youngish new designer, Wes Gordon, is loyal to its sweeping gowns and cocktail puffs.
On the other are those like Vaquera, where Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee plumbed the tension between the pandemic and the desire to be out in the world, leaning into the damage done — dumping a crumpled foil ruffle, like a remnant from an alternate Miss America pageant over basic gray sweats; splashing the message “Go Away Evil” on a glittering black sweater; crafting evening wear out of what looked like trash bags.
Also Eckhaus Latta, where Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta deploy the comforts of ribbed knits like a rug that can be pulled out from under you; strew snaps along the curving seams of stretch tops and trousers and then un-pop the poppers to expose a thigh here, an armpit there, finding the strength within a sense of dislocation and coming undone.
On the fringe no longer, they have expanded fashion week’s boundaries in every sense of the word, dragging it to other boroughs and underground venues; changing the definition of who gets to define dress; recalibrating what matters.
They’re interested less in the hallowed halls of the Met or the linen-covered tables at Cipriani than inequity and the damage done; are accountable not to the Best Dressed List but to the communities they attract.
In the end, that may be the story line that is truly something to watch.90,000 10 beauty contests that will save this world There are 60 people from the age of 0 to 30 participating in the Universal Royalty competition – they are, of course, divided into several age groups. Babies are allowed to participate only if they can sit on their own. The required registration fee for each of the contestants is $ 545 plus about $ 400 in additional costs. In addition, parents still have to fork out for costumes – sports and dance uniforms and a festive outfit, which cost from $ 1,500 to $ 12,000.The main prize, which the winner receives – $ 10,000 in cash, a 10-inch crystal crown, a figurine of the winner, a teddy bear and a bouquet of scarlet roses, as well as a mandatory competitive photo for memory.
One of the central themes of the competition is family values, which the organizers promote in every possible way. This is helped by some contests held within the framework of the competition, for example, the contest for the best dad with a prize of $ 50.
The second prestigious American competition for little ones (or rather for their parents) is called Little Miss of America.It was founded in 1982 as a platform for young models to meet with clients – advertisers, designers and their agents. In order for a child to participate in the competition, his parents must pay a registration fee of $ 50.
Competitions are held in two age categories: Little Miss of America and Baby Miss of America, each of which is divided into several more subgroups. So, the coveted title in the first case can be received by girls from 4 to 17 years old, and in the second – children of any gender from 3 months to 3 years old.Little miss is evaluated according to the same criteria as adults: appearance, posture, confidence, vocal and dance abilities.
But not everywhere are so loyal to children’s beauty contests, just yesterday the French Senate voted to ban such contests for children under 16 years old, the bill will be finally adopted after approval by the lower house of parliament.
7. Ms. Senior DC
Acting Mrs. Nancy A.Berry)
In contrast to the children’s contests, since the early 1980s, beauty shows have been held in the United States over the age of 60. The contests were organized to draw attention to the problems of aging. But don’t think that this event looks like a sad meeting of a nursing home. Ladies of elegant age, as they say, not only manage to maintain external beauty at such an advanced age, but also shine with talents, dancing on stage in a way that 18-year-old participants never dreamed of. Proof of this can be seen, for example, on the page of the beauty pageant among Washington retirees – Ms.Senior District of Columbia Pageant on Facebook.

The winner of the regional competition gets the right to represent the state in a similar competition, but on a national scale.90,000 Heidi Klum Leni’s daughter came out with her father and boyfriend
Leni Klum and Seal
17-year-old daughter Heidi Klum Leni has already become a completely independent unit in show business.The girl is actively developing her modeling career, and recently presented her first fashion collaboration. So independent appearances are familiar to her.
Yesterday Leni appeared in public in the company of her father, 58-year-old singer Seal. Recall that Leni’s biological father is Flavio Briatore, but in 2005, shortly after his marriage to Heidi, Seal adopted a baby – Leni was only a year old.
Leni Klum and Seal
Dad and daughter attend the Los Angeles premiere of the new Netflix western movie, The Harder They Fall. Seal participated in the creation of the soundtrack for this tape. They were also accompanied by Leni’s boyfriend Aris Rechevski, whom the model rarely showed to her subscribers. For a couple in love, this joint appearance was the first.
Well, Seal came to the event with his ex-assistant Laura Strayer. Rumors of their romance appeared in August this year, and now Seal has officially confirmed the relationship with a former employee. So both he and Leni had a romantic debut with their halves.

On the path Leni posed in a black bodycon mini-dress with a Dolce & Gabbana neckline. And the cutout of the outfit on the network will definitely be carefully considered, because recently the young model made a splash with her new fashion shoot. At that photo session, Leni posed with half-naked breasts, and a rather frank picture gave rise to heated discussions on the network. Some users have even suggested that Leni might have had her breasts enlarged.However, with a revealing neckline, she posed before and emphasized her bust with tight-fitting clothes at the recent show of her collection.
Leni Klum shooting Rollacoaster
Many, by the way, condemned the publication Rollacoaster, in which the filming was released, for excessive sexualization of an underage model.
The fashion world has always bordered on pedophilia. This is not surprising, but still sad to see. She is a beautiful girl who is sexualized for fashion,
– written by one of the commentators.
Others, on the contrary, supported Leni and noted that if she herself is not against such photo sessions, then there is nothing wrong with them.
As a reminder, Leni made her debut as a model at the end of last year, when she starred with her star mom for the cover of German Vogue. Following the girl went on an independent voyage. One of the highlights of her career was her participation in the Alta Moda Dolce & Gabbana show in Venice.

Adult and Kids Ballroom Dance Dress
The luxurious and dramatic look of many ballroom dresses allows you to create an image of incredible beauty and grace.The instant transformation of an ordinary modern girl into a sophisticated beauty makes her feel elegant and graceful. This causes overwhelming success among others, brings joy and enjoyment of one’s own worth, increases confidence in the implementation of their dancing abilities.
Ballroom dress features
It has already become a tradition that each show of new designer collections ends with the release of models in ballroom or wedding dresses. Some of the couturiers devote their creativity to the design of dresses for special events with the appropriate dress code, receptions or receptions.Their features include:
- mostly plain expensive fabrics, soft, flowing, capable of falling in a cascade of shuttlecocks and ruffles;
- the presence of embroidery, gold or silver embroidery, appliques;
- use as decoration of sequins, pearls, rhinestones;
- they are not picky about jewelry.
The silhouette of the dress and its style should take into account not only the type of the girl’s figure, but also emphasize all her advantages – a thin waist, delicate neck, beautiful shoulders.
The best brands of modern ball gowns
Dresses with corsets, open neckline and puffy skirts have become popular again. They are produced by companies such as Giles, Dennis Basso. Their works are made in different styles: you can choose delicate, romantic models or spectacular gothic ones. In the collection of the fashion house Oscar de la Renta, the length of the hem of the ball gowns in the front is shorter than in the back, which resembles the clothes of shepherdesses from pastoral court plays.
But dresses from “Valentino” do not always have floor length.Short skirts made of sheer organza, assembled from many layers, are similar to ballet tutus, but decorated with inserts in contrasting colors. All collections of this brand are refined and refined.
The Fashion East team presents a collection of ball gowns for teens. Young designers advise them to go to social events in dresses made of several transparent layers of chiffon, which can have bright and unusual color combinations.
Each of the trendsetters offers its admirers a special selection of colors for outfits, accessories, their own color palette.In the collections of famous fashion designers – Martin Grant, John Rocha, Reem Acra – there are black ball gowns. Lebanese designer Elie Saaba is famous for his evening and wedding dresses, and his models for the ball generally look sophisticated and chic.
Popular dress suit sizes
The most popular sizes for women dresses are S, which account for about 30% of the demand. The second place among Russian girls is taken by the size M, since it is he who interests every fourth fashionista.Clothes in size L, which correspond to sizes 46–48, account for only 14% of total demand.
Varieties of models for ballroom dancing
Dresses for sports ballroom dancing are usually classified depending on the nature of the program and tailoring. New fabrics, fringed trims accentuate the curves of the body, giving a finished look to every movement. According to accepted international standards, dresses should not contain erotic elements and religious symbols. Beautiful ball gowns can be seen in the photo below.
Dresses that girls wear during training are distinguished by a complete lack of jewelry. During rehearsals, the movements of the shuttlecocks are especially closely monitored, since they show what should be the span of the arms or the width of the step. The colors of the fabrics for workout dresses are usually soothing and restrained.
This is a category of energetic and lively modern dances, the most famous of which are samba, rumba, cha-cha-cha. Latin American dances are hard to imagine without sexy and revealing dresses. They are decorated with glass beads and semi-precious stones. A popular decoration for Latin dance dress is a boa.
Despite the spectacular appearance and amazing elegance, rating dresses for ballroom dancing must meet stringent regulatory requirements. The fabric for them is chosen in a single color, since it is not allowed to use several colors in one dress. For competitions, dancers do bright makeup with waterproof cosmetics.
Actual, beautiful colors and prints
Rating models of ball gowns most often have shades of the basic palette.Saturated colors are very popular. With the help of bright colors, you can become more noticeable than other participants, and the performance will surely be remembered not only by the audience, but also by the judges. White and all its shades are still one of the safest options, they symbolize purity and touching tenderness. Dresses with prints as decor or on a corset cannot be worn at competitions.
The attention of the jury members will certainly be attracted by a dress of deep crimson, maroon or purple. It is worth choosing a suitable shade so that the complexion of the face and hands does not seem too pale. The style of the model should correspond to a spectacular shade and have original cut elements – cuts, asymmetric sleeves, curly neckline.
A versatile black outfit will make your silhouette slimmer, create an elegant bow, hide some imperfections. It is difficult not to notice such a dress against the background of other, even bright colors. Suitable for brunettes and brown-haired women, with care you need to choose it for blondes and red-haired beauties.Makeup should not be too bright.
Blue shades are great for girls with dark hair. Cold aquamarine or cobalt are so beautiful that it is difficult to look away from ball gowns. One of the most fashionable is the royal shade of blue – rich and bright.
A cornflower blue or turquoise ball gown will certainly suit a variety of girls, regardless of their skin tone and hair color. Strict northern blondes accentuate the milky whiteness of the skin, and southern black-eyed beauties – anthracite hair color and the boundless depth of black eyes.
The dark grassy shade of the ball gown will enhance the attractiveness and temperament of red-haired girls. And turquoise and emerald – blondes and brunettes. For models made from sheer fabrics, organza or veils, you can choose delicate pastel colors.
Pink has been one of the most popular colors for ball gowns for many years. He is loved not only by young dancers, but also by older girls. Shades of hydrangea, mov or Parnassian rose will add more freshness to the outfit, make it more sophisticated and elegant.
Depending on the shade, a yellow dress can be a real discovery for both a blonde girl and a bright brunette. Tobacco, chartreuse, waxed or bronze are all different. Each of them can hide some flaws. In the distant past, yellow was a symbol of China and its emperor. In Orthodoxy, this is a sign and an image of light. Warmth and richness of color will make any model of a dress for a ball original and extravagant.
With such a rich color of the dress, bright brunettes and brown-haired women will again win.Purple will create the most beneficial background for any look of dark-haired beauties. This is an ambiguous color, mystical and mysterious, it enhances creativity. Perhaps, psychologically speaking, it will be much easier to compete in such a dress.
This color, embodying light and wealth, does not require additional decorations for a ball gown, as it will be rather difficult to overshadow it. Shiny and iridescent, the outfit will suit a variety of girls, regardless of their hair color or skin tone.
The conditions of the ballroom dancing competition prohibit the use of different prints, combinations of several colors in one suit. For this reason, dresses are often decorated with floral appliqués.
Modern ballroom dancing allows you to use dresses with a midi, maxi or mini length. If the created image fully fits the dance, then the chosen length will not only complement it, but also improve the overall perception of the dance language.
Ball-length dresses make a lasting impression on the audience.It seems that spectacular and very beautiful girls move so smoothly that they look like fabulous beauties. The spectators at the competitions seem to find themselves in the 19th century and are watching the events taking place several centuries ago.
Models with short skirts are quite comfortable for performing all kinds of dance steps. Decorated with various decorative elements, embroideries, with a skirt in the form of a tutu or pleated, or even just flared, such an outfit will enhance the mood at any party, allow you to move freely, will not hinder your movements.
How to choose a dress for a ball for girls
Elegant dresses for a prom in a kindergarten or school are created by modern designers, taking into account the trends of today’s fashion, features of materials and cut.
Then choose the finishing and the necessary decorative elements.
A short dress with a full skirt and a high waistline is called a babydoll. The neckline can be different, there are usually no sleeves, but sometimes lantern sleeves are still found.Will look great on a graceful young girl with a thin waist. Coquetry and charm are noticeable in it, but it is impossible to call it vulgar. Colors for such dresses are chosen bright, juicy.
Kids’ ball gowns usually feature puffy layered skirts and a tight bodice. This is the “princess” style, for which it is possible to combine several types of fabric in one product, most often two. A satin bodice is sewn to the chiffon skirts. The cutout should be small.The bodice is decorated with sequins, embroidery, rhinestones. Layered skirts are decorated with folds, ruffles. It is possible to use fringes, artificial flowers, lace. In some models, the hem is trimmed with feathers.
With a peplum
A peplum is an item of clothing that resembles a very short skirt flared immediately from the waist. This style has long been popular not only among children, but is considered quite interesting among adults. Any costume with such an addition will become original and fashionable.
With a train
Many little women of fashion dream of a beautiful ball gown with a train. After all, these are exactly what fairy-tale princesses wore in very ancient times. An outfit with a train will be appropriate in a large hall; in a cramped room in it, the child will be embarrassed. This design can not always be called comfortable, but it looks very impressive. There are many styles of trains, but a short dress with this element can be considered the most practical. For the sake of fulfilling their desire, girls will happily behave modestly and with dignity, as befits real princesses.
Features and standards of children’s outfits
Especially careful approach to the choice of a ballroom dress for those parents whose child is engaged in dancing should be. This is no longer just the outfit you like, but part of the image, so when buying, you need to adhere to certain rules. There is no need to choose fashionable shoes, it is better to take ordinary children’s shoes with a strap.
For the smallest dancers, dresses, as well as for the adult group, must be unadorned.It is rather a swimsuit with a stitched skirt. As a decoration, you can use lace inserts, appliques and fringes. But sparkles, feathers, stones are unacceptable. Lace and sheer details should not be on the hips or chest. Fabrics are suitable for any color, except for flesh. The panties should cover the buttocks and match the color of the dress. The decor and palette of the dress have their own rules.
For dancers of the older age group, there are fewer restrictions in choosing a dress.You cannot adorn yourself with bijouterie and expensive jewelry, or choose a dress made of rulex (metal) fabrics.
Selection of models depending on the type of figure
The ballroom dress for the dance competition should be selected based on the current standards. And also it should correspond to the figure and theme of the dance:
- emphasize the positive properties and advantages, make the disadvantages more invisible;
- Provide easy movement, comfortable feeling;
- for a more accurate match of the dress to the features of the figure, it is better to order it tailored to an experienced master;
- A custom-made dress usually looks more solid and graceful, it will not get lost among others in a large hall.
In addition to these tips, it is worth using others, no less important. To buy the right dance dress, you need to critically evaluate the proportions of your figure.
There are 5 types of figures:
|1||Pear||Small shoulders, hips much larger than chest|
|2||Thin waist with equal volume of hips and bust|
|3||“Apple”||Waist circumference is much greater than bust and hips|
|4||“Rectangle”||Approximately equal measures of hips and bust|
|5||“Inverted triangle”||Broad shoulders surpass all other indicators|
excessive fullness of the hips. It is better if the outfit is made in the Greek style. The skirt should be very modest, without decor, and the corset should be embroidered with rhinestones, beads and stones. To further draw attention to the upper torso, you need to make the cutout in the shape of a heart.
The fish dress will accentuate the hourglass figure very effectively. It can be used by dancers of all sizes. In this case, the emphasis is on the face and neck to avoid overemphasizing large breasts and wide hips.
But for sports “rectangles” you need outfits with a corset that reaches the hip line or waist.The skirt must be fluffy and airy. You can also create a feminine look with a flowy silhouette outfit.
Girls with an “apple” figure should not despair. You can shape the waist if you choose a dress with a fairly rigid corset. However, a fluffy dress for ballroom dancing will not suit short girls, so it is better for them to choose an A-line outfit. An empire-style dress will divert attention from the waist area, as its top is made of thicker fabric and decorated with trim.
The wide shoulders of the inverted triangle girls will not allow wearing a strapless bodice. But you can compensate for this with a V-neck, which visually even slightly enlarges the chest. The skirt should certainly be fluffy.
How to sew a dress for ballroom dancing
The dress should not only be beautiful, but also allow you to perform various shapes and movements. At any bends and deflections, the suit should not slip. In order for the clothes to fit the figure as much as possible, you need to choose special fabrics for ball gowns, such as lycra, supplex, stretch (mesh and guipure).All of them are perfectly stretchable and durable.
A do-it-yourself outfit usually consists of two main parts – a bodysuit and a fluffy skirt. The requirements of dance unions regarding bodysuits are based on the ban in many countries of flesh-colored or transparent panties. It is not necessary to sew sleeves or a collar for a ball gown.
A ballroom dressmaker works according to seemingly strange rules:
- sews them without patterns;
- leaves no allowances;
- does not use an iron.
The final fitting of the product takes place directly on the customer, therefore the initial dimensions give only an approximate idea of the figure. Due to the use of modern stretch materials, it makes no sense to leave allowances, otherwise the dresses will begin to sag. In addition to ordinary things and objects, at the beginning of sewing, you need to pay attention to the presence of synthetic threads and needles for knitwear. All refinements and strokes are applied with an aquamarker.
The peculiarities of the cut include the fact that in each of the dresses there are hidden details – straps, jumpers, eyelets, which allow fixing the position of the clothes on the body.The bra is sewn to the dress very firmly so that it does not slip off and unbutton. And the features of some models do not allow wearing it. Sometimes only one cups are sewn. This is how you can sew a ballroom dance dress.
Mistakes to Avoid
You should be very careful and scrupulous in choosing a ready-made ballroom dance costume. You should not buy your favorite dress without trying it on, relying only on the fact that its size turned out to be suitable.Everything may turn out differently. You cannot store the purchased dress before the performance; you must first perform several different movements and dance steps in it. Care should be taken to look closely at overly revealing suits, because during a performance, some detail can slide and expose a part of the body.
Remember that the color of the product must be suitable, corresponding not only to preferences, but also to the regulations. Observing all the requirements, it will be possible to choose an exquisite outfit that will emphasize the beauty of the owner.
