If a Wall founder wants to leave a Wall (remove his or her account) that has other members, there should be at least another administrator/member who will inherit the Wall founder’s rights and will become the new Wall founder.

The new Wall founder will then elect a new administrator before being able to leave his Wall.

Account deletion is permanent and all related data will be removed.

How can I delete my Wall?

Only a Wall’s founder can delete a Wall. From the mobile application, the Wall founder can delete the Wall by going to the Wall Administration screen, accessible via the Settings section.

From the Web, go to Preferences by clicking on your name on the top right corner and then edit your Wall information accordingly. Remove all the members of the Wall to delete this Wall.

The Wall will be permanently deleted along with all associated content. A message will notify the Wall founder that all Wall data is being permanently deleted.

How can I delete a post?

If you are an administrator for the Wall, you can delete any pictures or posts that are on your Wall.

If you’re not an administrator, you can only delete pictures and posts that you have shared. You will not be able to delete content posted by other people.

If you’d like to delete content, open the detailed view of that post from the Activity post. Please note that an administrator of a Wall can give others administrator rights from the Wall Settings menu.

The BEST Family Command Center Options To Get and Stay Organized

A family command center is crucial for keeping your busy family organized! Take control of the chaos and set up a family command center ASAP. These are the best options out there. Just pick the one that suits your family’s needs!

Hi friends! I frequently get asked about how we keep our house so tidy and stay organized. And I promise you, there’s nothing magic about what we do! It really is about developing systems that work for our family. And the number one thing I recommend to everyone is a family command center.

What is a Family Command Center?

A family command center is just a designated space in your home that serves as the central place for organizing daily chaos (schedules, incoming papers, car keys, etc). Exactly what you include in your command center varies based on your family’s own needs, but they frequently include things like a family calendar, a place for papers, a place for notes/messages, and hooks for keys.

How Do I Set One Up?

One of the most crucial systems we set up years and years ago is our “family command center.” You can read all of my detailed tips about setting up a command center that will work for you in this post.

Our family command center is in our kitchen and is where we “check in” and “check out” every time we leave the house. If paper comes into the house, it gets sorted at our command center–we have a designated spot for items to shred, bills to pay, records to file and receipts to scan. It’s also where we hang our car keys so we always know where they are. And I do mean ALWAYS. If you want details on our paper system, you can read about it here.

The key to using a family command center is to commit to using it every single day.  When you make it a habit, it takes no time at all to stay on top of the bills, receipts and all the other paper that comes into your house.

Again, you can read all of my detailed tips about setting up a command center that will work for you in this post.

Since everyone’s needs are different, I’ve rounded up the best family command center options that I’ve seen.  Just click on any of the links or photos below each photo for more details about each family command center or wall organization piece that you see.

The BEST Family Command Center Options

1) Modular Daily System– Pottery Barn’s Daily System is the family command center that we have used for the past 13 years and I absolutely LOVE it.  It still looks brand new.  And I love that it is modular and totally customizable.  It makes it easy to tweak as your needs change.

2) Modern Black and Natural Organizer– I love the modern lines of this organizer. The black with natural wood is super simple but high impact and there are spots for all of your things! This is perfect for a family that already has a spot for papers and needs to add a catchall for mail, keys, sunglasses, etc.

3) Gold Wire Adjustable Wall Organizer– The four storage baskets on this chic gold wall organizer are sized perfectly for files, mail, school papers and more. The best part is that they are adjustable, so you can reposition them in the best way to suit your family’s needs.

4) Modern and Simple Command Center– I love everything about this hand-made simple and modern organization. It’s practical and streamlined, but the sweet bud vase on it makes it extra special.

5) Custom Chalkboard Calendar– For families who have a lot of schedules to juggle, this custom chalkboard calendar could be a game-changer and the central part of an EPIC command center. It is not an actual chalkboard but is made to look like one. The surface is an easy-to-erase acrylic material.

6) Fabric Pocket Organizers– Love a pocket system to stay organized? These fun hangers hold all your papers and bring a fresh fun nautical vibe. And they come in a two-pack!

7) Modern Magnetic Wall Organizers– This system is truly ingenious.  You mount magnetic plates to your wall and attach the containers of your choice.  So easy and customizable!  Make a small family command center or a huge one with endless options.

8) Galvanized Modular Wall System– This galvanized modular wall system from Pottery Barn is another favorite of mine.  I love the look of it and again, it’s modular so you can customize it and change it around to suit the needs of your family command center as often as you like.

9) Peel and Stick Panels– These fun panels come four to a pack and are perfect for the busy family who needs lots of help keeping schedules straight! Add your favorite hooks, a shelf, or pockets to create your own system with these.

10) Compact Wall Organizer– This small organizer packs a lot of organization into a small package, making it an ideal family command center for those with limited space.  Use it to sort your email, make notes on the dry erase board and pin important notes and paperwork to the corkboard.  There’s even a spot for your keys!

11) Simple Chalkboard Organizer– This multifunctional wall organizer includes a chalkboard, a mail or bill holder and several hooks to hold keys or even a dog leash. There’s even a ledge to hold your chalk!

12) Vertical Bins with Hooks– If you don’t have a need for a chalkboard, whiteboard or corkboard, this may be the perfect solution for you.  This simple set of vertical bins with hooks would be the perfect way to sort your mail, bills to be paid and things to be shredded. If you do need other components they would be simple to hang with this.

13) Vintage Style Chalkboard and Mail Sorter– Look at how cute and functional this is!  Perfect for a vintage/farmhouse vibe. I like that is has a shelf!

14) Metal Multi-Pocket Wall Organizer – I love this industrial organizer! It is larger than most with tons of spots for everyone in the family. Add a few wall hooks and a fun chalkboard around it, and you have a unique organization area big enough for everyone!

I hope you are feeling inspired to get your family organized once and for all. I promise you, a good command center will have a positive impact on you every single day! Has it become a challenge to keep track of your family’s schedule?

Just for the week, the household’s schedule could involve ballet recitals, baseball practices, play dates, camping trips, family hobbies, and your spouse coming home for dinner with his boss on Thursday. Oh, and it is your turn to carpool your kids and their friends for swimming lessons on the weekend.

Moreover, you are teaching the kids to be more responsible. You’ve assigned each of them household chores. You need to set up a tracking and reward system to make sure they do their assigned tasks.

It would be near impossible to put all these activities – along with their important details (note, hubby’s boss is a vegetarian) – on your kitchen wall calendar, much less keep everything in your head.

In today’s post, we’re featuring ten of the best family calendar apps that you can use to manage your family’s individual and collective schedules. We want to prevent a catastrophe from happening in your household because of an overlooked event or activity (What? The big event is today?!).

Most apps have collaboration features so family members who are capable of using the apps can create or edit their own schedules into the shared calendar.

The following are the apps handpicked for the purpose of giving you a harmonious home life and an efficient family-event organizer.

Best Family Calendar and Organizer Apps

1. Calendar: Best Simple Calendar

via Calendar

This app helps you become better at managing your time. With its AI-enabled technology, you get a personalized calendar experience that allows you to spend time on things that truly matter, i.e., your family.

The Calendar has a couple of key features that make it ideal for use by the whole family.

Through its Analytics, you can see how much time you actually spend with anyone in your contacts (so you get reminded if you’re devoting more hours for work lunches rather than having date nights with your spouse or some bonding time with your kids).

Lastly, if you have family members living overseas, it’s often difficult to set a schedule for a chat with them. But with Calendar, you can arrange a “meeting” with the family member at the most convenient schedule, regardless of timezone differences.

2. Cozi: Best for Families

With this app, you can keep all family members in the loop. Its features allow you to coordinate everyone’s schedule in one place.

The color-coding feature helps you keep track of each member’s appointments, assignments, and tasks through the respective colors assigned to them. Plus, you can share your menu plans and to-do lists that you can coordinate and edit simultaneously so that nothing is missed!

Check out our review on why Cozi works best for families.

3. TimeTree: Best for Planning with Friends

via Best Mobile App Awards

With this app, you can share your plans with the people who are close to your heart. Plan and coordinate events together with your family by creating your schedule on just a single calendar.

Imagine the coordinating needed to organize a family camping trip. A suitable venue has to be chosen. The most ideal date for the activity has to be set. Plus, a list of things to bring has to be organized.

If members of the family are all busy, there will never be a chance for a sit-down meeting. This is where the convenience of family calendar apps comes into play.

With its chat feature, every member of the family can give their opinions and offer suggestions about the events in the collaborative calendar. Pictures can also be posted about an event, giving a more memorable experience for all users.

And you know what? Making plans together as a family instills a strong set of value regarding goal-setting. This good habit will help them handle challenges and achieve success later in life.

4. CloudCal

via Android Apps For Me

Another family calendar app you can consider is CloudCal. Have you ever had days when you run from task to task, wondering when you’ll have a breather?

This app can give you an idea of what tasks are at hand for the day so you can apply the best time-management strategies to accomplish and keep track of everything important in your life.

Its colorful features help keep track of your daily, weekly, and monthly schedules. The “magic circles” tell you how busy you are any given day and possible (and welcome) moments of rest.

Syncing with other calendars is also possible, so you’ll never miss a single important family event.

5. OurHome

via OurHome

Time will come when you need to teach your kids the value of responsibility. This app helps you monitor if your kids are doing their assigned tasks.

You can manage family task assignments and organize the day-to-day activities of your household. Its gamified approach can motivate kids to do what is expected of them.

Schedule the tasks and allocate them to the members of the family. Track their progress, send reminders, or give penalties for tasks undone.

The app has a goal-setting feature so your kids know what goals they are aiming for. The calendar provides information for all family activities, so that all members are up to date with family activities and responsibilities.

You might want to check out our definitive list of age-appropriate chores for kids.

6. Any.Do

via Any.Do

This app meets the criteria for design elegance and reliability. It is user-friendly, making it among the most popular calendar apps for families and other groups.

Categories help you organize the events and the lists you create in its interface. Notes can be added to the tasks you create. You can put a deadline on the task and mark it as important. Furthermore, you can share it with family members if the activity requires their participation

In the pro version, you are allowed to collaborate with another user to create tasks, projects, and lists that you can simultaneously edit and view on your individual gadgets.

You can easily review the upcoming to do’s and schedule by using the “Moment” feature. You’ll get a reminder at the same time each day to check and plan for the days ahead.

7.  Google Family Calendar

via Google

When you create a family group in Google, you can add up to 5 members who live in the same country as you do. When your group is created, a “Family” calendar is automatically generated, which is accessible to all group members.

As a member, one can add, view, and edit events on this calendar. You can easily keep track of all your family activities because they’re all in one place and accessible in different devices.

Birthdays are easily remembered, as well as anniversaries. You can also apply color coding to identify every member in the family group.

Note that when a member leaves the group, he or she can no longer access the information in the calendar. Moreover, if you decide to remove the group, the other members will no longer have access to the family calendar.

8. Picniic

via Stephanie Click

This “family management app” functions as a calendar, a to-do list, cookbook, meal planner, shopping list, and a family information locker.

Family events and individual schedules are shared in the calendar. Like other family calendar apps, the users can choose their own colors for easier identification and reference.

To make it easier to manage the household, the app provides recipes for popular family dishes. The ingredients list can be added to an in-app shopping list with just a click of an icon.

9. FamilyWall

via FamilyWall

This app guarantees security and privacy for all the information you share with other members of your family. The timeline representation of all posts on the Family Wall allows you to browse the activities and interactions of each member of the family.

The family calendar is color-coded based on each member’s designated color. Everyone is updated as to individual schedules or group activities requiring their participation.

The locator, when activated, allows you to check a member’s latest location check-in or real-time location.

The gallery is a repository of all videos and photos of memorable events, which can be shared with friends and distant family members.

10. Trello

via Trello

A project management tool can also work very well in keeping your household organized.

This is what I personally discovered when I used Trello in managing things at home, such as class schedules (for the kid and adults), inventory and restocking of art supplies, for plotting doctor’s appointments, and family outings every month. Before this discovery, I only used the app exclusively for work.

How to use it? As a parent, you can keep track of children’s developmental milestones. You want everyone to stay updated with what’s going on in the family.

There are also chores, assignments and other tasks that teach the younger members of the family to be responsible. The “corkboard” gives an overview of all the things that are important for your family.

The cards can be dragged and dropped in their appropriate categories that can be added, moved, edited, or deleted by any of the members with whom you share the board.

Give your activities and events a due date, and these are immediately saved on the calendar. These are all visible for those who have access to the board.

11. Flayk

This app recognizes the uniqueness and diversity of every family. It provides customizable features that accommodate the needs of your family while maintaining a central organizing hub for everyone.

As a family management app, Flayk promises to lighten the burden of hectic parents juggling career and family responsibilities, as well as of children who need support in school work and extracurricular activities.

It contains all the features you’d find in a good family calendar app, including:

  • Calendar
  • Collaborative to-do list
  • Events organizer

Its events organizing feature can be used by multiple families, so you’re assured that members of the extended family can be reached when planning for a grand reunion.

Another feature that makes this app stand out is its points-system feature for completed tasks. It’s an extra motivation for kids who are still learning about the value of personal responsibility.

The basic version is available for free and comes with the most essential features of the app. Meanwhile, the premium version allows you to access the rewards system feature and gives you the option to be included in multi-family or group accounts.

For iOS

12. 24me

Need to boost your productivity at work and keep track of things at home? This app lets you do both at once

The app utilizes artificial intelligence to assist you in getting stuff done. It allows you to sync all of your calendars, and consolidates your schedule so you can keep it in one place.

You won’t ever miss or be late for a kid’s recital, doctor’s appointment, or corporate meeting because the app alerts you as to the ideal time to head out the door for meetings and appointments based on the traffic situation in your area. At home, you can share your grocery and to-do lists with other family members and edit them in real time.

If a special occasion is coming up, rather than going to a store to buy a gift, you can save a lot of time by using the app’s micro-gifting feature. With a tap of a button, you can select a gift, and then links to the item and a corresponding gift card are sent to the recipient’s email.

For iOS | For Android

13. FabFam

This app was developed by a husband-and-wife team. Like many couples, they juggled their time to accommodate work, household chores, etc. They needed an app to help them organize their busy lives in order to not miss out on important milestones of their kid’s life.

With the shareable family calendar, you and other members of the household can sync your schedules. You can add special events, doctor’s appointments, practices, and other activities.

The app has an advanced feature that allows you to store your loyalty and reward cards. Any member of the family can use the cards. They just need to show the barcode at the store when shopping to get discounts and loyalty points.

For iOS | For Android

14. Calroo

If you have kids, you are probably aware of how hectic it can be managing and keeping track of all their appointments and schedules. Furthermore, if you are a working mom or dad, it can be a challenge to make time and provide support for their academic work.

This app allows you to stay calm despite all the busy-ness of your daily life. The features that families find most helpful including:

  • Event organizer
  • Chore tracking
  • Color-coded task assignment
  • Create shopping/to-do lists
  • Task handoff

You’ll receive reminders for tasks that need getting done. After accomplishing them, you can delete the tasks from the scheduler or set a repeat reminder.

Meanwhile, the task handoff feature allows you to hand off an appointment or activity to another family member through a simple swipe on the screen icons.

Lastly, this app lets you choose which pieces of information are visible to family members. This removes the need for you to store passwords in case you’re organizing a surprise birthday party for someone in the family.

For iOS | For Android

15. Hub

If you need an app that not only helps organize your family life, but also brings the family members closer together, then you might want to try Hub. For starters, this app allows you to stay updated on the latest goings-on in the family. The home screen is like a family newsletter that displays the latest posts made by family members.

Moreover, you and other members of the family can create your schedule together and help remind each other of upcoming appointments through the shared family calendar. Finally, you can organize an event and divide up tasks via the shared to-do and shopping lists.

How to Effectively Use The Calendar Apps for the Family

We’ve learned today that a calendar app is essential for avoiding the last-minute scramble and stress it induces in everybody when trying to make it to an appointment or schedule.

How can you effectively use it in your own home?

First, you must involve all your family members. Most of the calendar apps above were chosen because of the essential collaborative feature that allows the sharing of information with all members.

If your eldest is not participating and you’re the one who has to keep reminding her about her mixed-martial-arts practice, then efficiency in-home operations go down.

Older children can be taught that it is their responsibility to check the family calendar for schedules and appointments. You and your spouse can sit down together at least once a week to discuss the activities written on the calendar.

Make sure that the app is compatible with all the devices that your family uses. It is a big plus to find an app that works for desktops, phones, and tablets.

Moreover, free apps are nice, but sometimes you have to invest a few dollars to get the full range of features that are guaranteed to maximize efficiency in managing your family’s schedule.

Finally, make sure that the app is user-friendly and appeals to you and your family’s sense of esthetics. It’s going to be a mainstay in your home life so it has to be something that you like to use.

8 family calendar and organizer apps

There is no job in the world quite as busy and overwhelming as that of being a parent. Family calendars quickly fill up with practices, recitals, birthday parties and hundreds of other things that you need to keep track of each month. Add in the various to-dos and must-dos that spring up out of nowhere each day and any parent can find themselves deep in the weeds pretty quickly.

Luckily, our phones were built for more than just scrolling through Facebook and snapping quick pics of our little ones. Productivity apps can be a real lifesaver for moms and dads these days, and finding the right ones to help make your family life easier can make all the difference.

Figure out your stress-points to find the right app for your family

The first step in finding what you need in an app is to sit down and determine what is causing the most stress in your family’s daily life, suggests Bethany Parker, vice president at Xero Americas and mom of two. For some, this may be that no one ever seems to know where they are supposed to be on any given day, while for others it may be that they are overwhelmed by the details that come up in tracking chores.

Kids of almost any age can use family apps

Don’t assume you have to wait until your children are older to get them involved in using a family organization app. Most children can begin to see smart devices as productivity tools from an early age.

“My best advice is to start early with these apps,” says Janet Schiesl, mom and professional organizer in Washington, D.C. “Getting them going early will make it routine for them before teenage rebellion begins.”

As kids get older and learn to read, they will be able to add to lists, mark off tasks, utilize family calendars and more.

We’ve rounded up a few parent-approved productivity apps that will help you and your family become organized in no time.

The best apps for busy families

1. OurHome

An in-depth organizer app that allows parents to reward kids for their work on chores, OurHome is free to use with no ads. The app allows parents to assign and schedule tasks and chores, view personal progress and activities, add items to a shared grocery list, enter events into a family calendar, send messages and reminders, and stay in sync across multiple unlimited devices.

Each family member has the ability to create and edit to-do lists, add new tasks, assign deadlines, and assign the task to a family member.

Reviewers love it for its ability to keep large families organized and its “completely customizable” features.

2. Picniic

Imagine an interface that basically includes all the bells and whistles you have on your smart device—a calendar, a newsfeed—but is built specifically for keeping your family life organized. That’s Picniic, which features a family calendar, to-do lists, group events, grocery lists, a feature called “news” where large families can share messages and media, and parental controls so you can manage kids’ internet connection to promote healthy internet habits using a secure no-track VPN, as well as set events like homework time and bedtime during which internet access is restricted. Most features are available on the free version, but a paid premium subscription ($99 annually) gets you features like encrypted info storage, meal planning tools, and the ability to export and import events from third-party calendars like Google, Apple and Outlook.

3. Google Calendar

The calendar from Google is one of the most-widely used apps because it’s free, simple and available on all platforms. All you need is a Google email address and you’re good to go.

Google’s color-coding options make it easy to divide up different types of tasks, activities and events, so that each person can filter their view by what matters to them. The ability to share calendars make it the perfect option for busy families with older children who have a lot of practices and other dates to keep track of on a weekly basis. Being able to set permissions allows you to control who sees what and who can add or delete events. Google Calendar can do a lot more than simply track dates for you. For instance, when you input a location for any activity, Google will automatically pull in a link for directions, as well.

“I live and die by my Google Calendar and so does my family,” says Parker. “Everyone in our family has access to the calendar, even our nanny. Based on permissions and sharing, family members can see each other’s schedules and plan accordingly when booking travel for work, attending school events or planning a night out.”

4. Evernote

If you’re looking for a way to easily create and share lists, notes and reminders with your family members, Evernote is a fantastic option. It’s available for all platforms, has a basic free plan that works well enough for most people and the app is also accessible offline. It’s known primarily for its list functionality, but Evernote has a lot of other features that set it apart from the competitors. You can easily record and share audio notes and Evernote makes it easy to take and store photos within its notebooks, as well.

“I use Evernote to make notes and lists for all kinds of things, but especially for planning for the holidays or birthday parties,” says Abby DeSantos, a mom of three from Springfield, Massachusetts. “Being able to take photos and have them saved in my notes was a real game-changer. I take photos of all kinds of things like school event notices and even my daughter’s reading list, so I can look at it quickly on my phone when we are in the bookstore.”

5. Trello

Trello is a project management tool that has been loved by professional project managers for years, but tons of families rely on it as well. Essentially an electronic corkboard, Trello can be as simple or as complicated as you would like it to be. You can create a “board” for anything, from a family vacation to meal-planning. Share it with your family members and anyone can add “cards” made up of links, thoughts, dates, to-dos and more. Family members can comment on cards and easily move them around by dragging and dropping. You can also find templates for Trello created by other families that you can save to your own Trello for your family’s use.

“My pick for best family organization app is Trello,” says Brandon Ackroyd, a dad from Philadelphia. “It’s perfect for planning a family vacation, making shopping lists, keeping track of appointments and hundreds of other things.

Parker is also a big Trello fan and counts it among her top three choices for family apps.

“I love Trello,” Parker says. “Right now I have a board to plan an upcoming family trip to Italy, a board for our home remodel and so many more. Trello allows for hyper collaboration and everyone can add ideas, links, reviews and more.”

6. Cozi

Cozi has been around for many years and is still the go-to family organizational tool for many parents. It boasts a host of features such as family calendars, to-do lists, recipe sections, shopping lists and even a space for a family journal. Because there are so many features within Cozi, some parents find it overly complicated, but it’s still a favorite for many. With over 20 million users, Cozi is cross-platform and definitely worth checking out. The ad-supported version is free, but an ad-free version is also available as a paid upgrade.

“I’ve been using Cozi for years,” says Joanne Neeley, a mom of four from Needham, Massachusetts. “Our whole family uses it, including our babysitter and I honestly think we would fall apart without it at this point!”

7. Busy Kid

Busy Kid is an app that helps parents simplify the chores and allowance aspect of family management. With Busy Kid, parents can create a list of weekly chores for each child and assign an allowance that will be awarded once those chores are completed. When the child finishes a chore, he logs on to the app and marks it as completed. (Don’t worry, if the chore wasn’t completed the way you wanted it to be, it’s easy for parents to override and deny the allowance.)

The Busy Kid app will also give you age-appropriate suggestions for both chores and allowance amounts. It ties directly into your bank account so that you don’t have to worry about always having enough cash on hand when it’s time to pay your child’s allowance. Once the money has been transferred, your child can either save it, choose “cash out” and request a set amount or spend it on gift cards at popular sites like Amazon. For older kids, Busy Kid is also a way to teach them about investing, as they can also choose an option to buy small shares of stocks (with your OK). The app charges a yearly fee of $14.95 for the entire family, which might be worth it for busy families with several children.

“I have four kids and used to dread dealing with tracking chores and allowances for all of them so much that I would just skip it all together and do everything myself,” says Stephanie Jones, a mom from Clifton, New Jersey. “I was a little skeptical about using an app that also transfers money, but I love it. I can track all of their chores, but it also puts it on them to track and check off when they’re done. I feel like my kids are super incentivized by it because they have more control, instead of it being me nagging them the whole week.”

8. Greenlight

Greenlight is a new app that bills itself as “the debit card for kids.” Another way for parents to get control over how their kids are spending (and saving) money, Greenlight makes it easy for parents to load money onto a card that their kid can use. Using settings within the app, parents are able to designate specific places where their child can use money and how much money they can use at those places. They can also specify a general breakdown of how their child can spend her money — food, ATMs or “spend anywhere.” When their child attempts to use her card, the parents get real-time notifications letting them know. Kids can also request to use money somewhere not pre-approved and parents can quickly approve or deny the request. Greenlight costs $4.99 per month for an entire family, but parents of active kids who are often traveling for extracurricular activities love the control it gives them when their kids are away.

“I use Greenlight with my 10-year old now that she’s carpooling more often with friends for soccer games and attending sleep-away camp,” says Sareh Baca, a mom of two from Atlanta. “I’m a bit lazy, so I usually just allocate the money to ‘spend anywhere’ and set a limit, but I do sometimes set specifically approved stores. It can be as granular or as broad as you want.”

The takeaway for parents

Whichever app you choose, consistency is the key to making it work for your family. The hardest part of utilizing any app will be the initial setup, but stick with it. If one really isn’t doing much for you even after working with it for a few weeks, try another one.

As Parker notes, “We all want more hours in the day to spend time doing the things we love and if an app can give you more time to do those things, it’s worth embracing the new technology that helps you do it.”

90,000 Kelly’s Essays on Family Calendar – FlyLady Basics – FlyLady Basics – Our Encyclopedia

“Dear friends!

One of the most effective helpers in your quest for CALM in the house is a calendar. It doesn’t matter what: a regular wall planner or a planner. The main thing is that you have it.

One of the first tasks that we asked for you to do, was to develop routines and a basic weekly plan, which is why we have forced you to complete all the tasks related to the creation of QoL in the last few weeks. The calendar is the next step to flying. The calendar will act as a mechanism to keep your family informed of what’s going on. Even if you use a personal organizer, I highly recommend creating a Family Calendar that hangs somewhere in a central place in your home so that everyone in the family will be in the know. This will save you from missed games, missed appointments and … frustration and disappointment !!! Your family is counting on you! Using a calendar will help not only you but your entire family.

Once you have a routine and a weekly plan, you know to sit down once a week and plan your next week. This is the day that you look at what is written on your family calendar.

The bottom line is that if you don’t have a calendar, you have to constantly rummage through your memory to remember what happens next week. And we know how it works 🙂

How to use the family calendar:

Important dates. Take some time, sit down and write down all the important dates for your family. You will never forget your birthday or anniversary again! Take a look at the calendar – and you will see when and how many envelopes and / or postcards you need to buy, and when and to whom to send them.

• Schedule. As soon as you receive data on when events will occur that directly or indirectly affect your family members – RECORD THEM INTO THE CALENDAR IMMEDIATELY! For example: school holidays, workouts, training camps, dance classes, church, etc.As soon as they found out, they wrote it down immediately. Do not leave them in the car or in the hallway. If you can’t enter your schedule right now, pin it to the calendar with a pin, make a pocket and fold these papers there. But don’t forget to add this schedule to your calendar! This will allow you to know which events you can or cannot participate in, you can clearly track your own schedule.

• Invitations. When you receive an invitation in the mail, do not throw it aside after reading it, allowing it to mix with newspapers and magazines, ask yourself if you would like to go to this event.See if the date is right for you or your family member who was invited. If you decide to accept the invitation – write it down in your calendar immediately! If the invitation requires a prompt response, do so. (By the way, even if you do not want to accept the invitation, you still need to give an answer if required, and only then discard the invitation).

• Meetings. When you plan to visit doctors, dentists, hairdressers – it doesn’t matter, look at your calendar first! Then write it down. You don’t want to get into a stupid situation, do you? Using a weekly plan, you can find the best day for you. Try to schedule most of the appointments on your Errand Day.

Some calendars are sold with legend and / or picture stickers, which save time and space on the calendar and help plan events more efficiently. If you have such – use them without fail! These are your little planning assistants. Got a Dentist sticker? So use it! You just need to write the name of the person who should go to the doctor and the time. And the sticker will speak for itself. Legend will help you! Multi-colored pens, pencils, stickers, markers … Connect your imagination!

Ask acquaintances whom you consider to be very responsible and organized people (we call them BO = Born Organized) – they use calendars, planners or even electronic notebooks. If you really want to FLY, using the calendar is a must. As I said, it doesn’t matter what it will be: a wall calendar, pocket planner or desk calendar – it is important that it is.

We want you to FLY! We promise: the calendar will help you FLY! Don’t forget the calendar and it will work for you and for you.

Happy planning!

Wall Organizer | MOM TIME

September 26, 2013 Secrets of Self-Organization

Good afternoon, dear friends. After I honestly shared with my readers our autumn entertainment for a one-year-old toddler, it is with particular pleasure that I return to the topic of time management for moms. So, today our hero will be wall organizer , a real captain’s bridge for mom.

Do you use stickers? Do you write to-do lists? Shopping? Do you periodically time the day so as not to relax? Are you planning a menu for the week? Yes? Congratulations, you’ve come VERY far on your path to being organized and being able to plan your time! But tell me where, where do you keep your lists ???

Doesn’t it happen that you look like this? =)))

Like the picture? I’m crazy!

And so that it is still not about you, I will tell you about the wall organizer, how it helps in maintaining order in business and life, and just gives you a great mood every day!

The idea of creating an organizer on the wall came to me when I was lucky enough to go on a fascinating business trip on board a real sea cargo ship, but I will write about this at the end of the article, read it later if you want.

What is a wall organizer for? So that stickers, lists, calendars, planners and other time management tools do not spread throughout the apartment, but have their own clear place, and you have a clear idea of the work front!

How to make a wall organizer

  • Option one – upholstery or glue a board of a suitable size with textiles, and then pin it up with pins, clothespins, etc. whatever your heart desires. In fact, it turns out something like a school stand.

Pros: cheap and durable, you can do it in the style of the interior of the room, if, for example, there is fabric left from the curtains.
Cons: Fabric is a great dust collector.

  • Option two – to use cork and magnetic boards, by the way, my option. Their main advantage is durability and practicality. The magnetic board is so simple, indestructible, in addition, it can be originally decorated with magnets.
  • Option three – office information stand with pockets. It looks, of course, very formal, but it is comfortable and durable, and in the hands of an inspired mother it will turn into a work of art.
  • The fourth option is also in an office style, a cascade of transparent trays. Suitable for sheets, and for various little things.
  • Option five – a simple sheet of Whatman paper, lined up according to your own sketch for the individual needs of your family. To be filled in with a pencil.
  • And, of course, the sixth option is a combined wall glider, consisting of several stands or boards, to which you can also add a slate board.

How to fill the wall organizer

  • Planner calendar for week, month, year or all together
  • To-do lists, purchases
  • Forms of the menu for the week, the timing of the mother’s time, developing activities with the child or games
  • Schedules (lessons, lessons with a tutor, circles, sections)
  • Calendar for the introduction of complementary foods, vaccinations, development, passage of specialists
  • Wish board (by the way, there will be a next article about it, so subscribe to updates at the bottom of the article)
  • Inspirational quotes, pictures, photos where you are happy
  • Block for instant recording of ideas and thoughts
  • Reminders for taking medications or vitamins

A huge plus of such a family wall organizer is also that it is an original field for creativity. Not only the child’s drawings will find their place here, the very design of the organizer requires a special approach, because it is always in sight. To make this innovation to everyone’s liking, invite each family member to participate in the design, permanent or seasonal.

Here is such a new time management tool that was our guest today. Now I will tell you why I call the wall glider the captain’s bridge.

Several years ago I had a chance to participate in the inspection of a dry cargo ship, and, having visited the captain’s bridge, I was impressed not by the equipment of this room, but by the order and organization that seemed to permeate the air. Most of all I was attracted by the huge wall organizer, which includes information on scheduled work, crew members, birthdays, menus for the month! from cook, reports from the holidays on board, just beautiful photos of ocean sunsets and the schedule of tennis tournaments, which was played in the hold of the ship! Even then, I had a dream to have something like this for myself. And now I have my own captain’s bridge.

By the way, here is a photo from this trip, I’m on the bridge =)

Well, I remind you that the commentator competition continues! And also I can not remain silent and announce that October will be a month of surprises, because there is one very important event for the project! Subscribe not to miss!
