Wall Suggestion Boxes | Plastic, Wood & Metal
Comment Boxes with Wall Mounting & Locking Designs for Schools & Offices
Do employees in your office feel as if they don’t have a voice? Try putting in a comment box to allow concerned employees to discreetly voice their opinions. These wall mounting suggestion boxes feature brochure pockets to hold scrap paper, informational brochures and more. The presence of comment boxes can help workers feel more comfortable in the workplace because they know that their employer is listening to their concerns. These displays also feature a locking design to prevent tampering or theft, which is especially important if these wall mount comment boxes are being used to collect cash donations for a charity. Plus, the versatility of these displays allows for most of them to be placed on countertops instead of being wall mounted. Place this comment box in a convenient location for easy access.
Suggestion holders are a great way to collect information and feedback over extended periods of time. Use this drop box selection to conduct surveys, elections and more. You’ll find that different styles and materials are available including metal, wood and acrylic. Match your display to any décor with this wide variety of styles. Some comment boxes are also available with sign holders attached. A sign holder gives companies an opportunity to place a logo, ad, or notification that tells people what contest they are entering or what they are voting on. Attach the security pen (if not included can be purchased separately) to the countertop, wall, or on the comment boxes themselves for users to fill out the form, ballot, or suggestion card!
What types of businesses use these ballot holders?
- Hotels – For customers to drop room keys when checking out
- Offices – Managers can collect concerns, complaints, or tally an office wide vote
- Schools – Students can vote for classroom-wide decisions or hold student elections
- Retail Stores – For customers to leave suggestions or complaints
When running a business, one of the quickest ways to grow is to listen to feedback. Customers are always going to be genuine and offer the best tips on how to improve. Display a vote box so customers can leave feedback that will help you grow as a business and potentially increase sales. If you treat the customer how they want to be treated then you increase your chance of returning customers. Repeat business is one of the keys to success for any retail store. Suggestion boxes also have the ability to make a customer feel more appreciated. The sight of it sends a message, “We as a company value what you, the customer, has to say.” It can also be used as a tool to evaluate employees. Have guests write in who assisted them shopping, made their experience better, or (hopefully not the case) was rude and unhelpful.
Schools can really benefit from these boxes as well. Use these displays in the classroom to tally votes and discreetly collect suggestions from students. Each of these ballot boxes ideal for schools can be mounted directly to the wall. Teachers can sit these stands on top of their desks for easy access, or hang them on the wall to conserve space. Use these ballot bins for a variety of different purposes. Try trade shows as well. Collect information from potential clients with these boxes, or collect various email addresses so you can put them onto a mailing list. With so many people visiting booths at a trade show it can be difficult to collect everyone’s information. A suggestion box is a great way to start!
The Days of the Comment Card Box Are Over
3 years ago, we created this blog post: 5 Big Problems with Comment Cards
and it’s still our most popular.
The reason the article resonates is that we all know comment cards are inadequate for serving guests. They always have been, but it was the best option we had.
In brief, the issues with comment cards are:
- The cards aren’t read until long after the customer is gone. You missed the chance to ensure they left happy.
- The comment card box is off to the side somewhere, not easily accessible or visible.
- The card comes too late, usually at the end of the customer’s experience. They are almost out the door.
- The customer won’t be 100% honest if they have to put their name on it, but you can’t reach them if it’s anonymous. You can’t win.
- You’ll get fewer cards if it’s not anonymous.
- They are tedious and a burden to fill out.
- Helpful suggestions, but not worth the effort to write on a card, won’t get to you.
- Comments that criticize your staff may not make it to you. They may end up crumpled in a server’s pocket.
There had to be something better, but effective and convenient.

Ideas on a Suggestion Box in the Office: Do’s and Don’ts
Why have a suggestion box in the workplace?
For businesses that want to improve employee engagement, a suggestion box can be invaluable, especially if employees can retain anonymity. Employees can give their input regarding working conditions, processes, HR and benefits, fellow colleagues or managers. They can also make suggestions to improve their organization’s profitability.
A suggestion box makes employees feel more involved in their companies. Suggestion boxes boost employee morale, especially when suggestions are implemented or concerns addressed. A suggestion box in the workplace can offer many benefits including:
- Improved communication between management and employees,
- Increased innovation and problem-solving
- Enhanced employee engagement and morale
Best practices for implementing a suggestion box
A great suggestion box helps employees feel engaged and encourages innovation. Here are some of the best practices to use when implementing a suggestion box.
- Sell the idea to management.
- Make a plan.
- Create guidelines for handling suggestions.
- Write the suggestion form.
- Set up the box.
- Announce and promote the box.
- Implement and say thank you.
1. Sell the idea to management.
Ensure management and HR are on board. Explain why you think a suggestion box would positively impact your workplace. Some reasons for implementing a suggestion box include:
- Increasing employee engagement
- Improving employee satisfaction statistics or online reviews
- Best practices of other companies
2. Make a plan.
Make a list of things you intend to achieve with the suggestion box. Some ways you can focus your plan are to:
- Involve key members from other departments including HR
- Research and see how other organizations implement suggestion boxes
- Determine if a virtual or physical suggestion box is most practical for the size of your employee population and available resources
- Assess and outline resources needed for the project
- Decide how you’ll inform employees
3. Create guidelines for handling suggestions.
Determine the following:
- How often suggestions will be reviewed
- Who will review and approve suggestions
- Steps for implementing approved suggestions
Write the suggestion form.
Decide what your suggestion form will include. For example, you can give employees the option of indicating:
- Different departments or areas of the business
- If comments are feedback or suggestions
- Their information (department, job role)
This can help with sorting comments and suggestions later. Ensure you allow for anonymous feedback which can encourage candid and often very helpful suggestions.
5. Set up the box.
How you collect feedback will depend on the size of your company and available resources:
- Physical: If you’re using a physical location, ensure it’s accessible to all employees. To protect their privacy, put a lock on the box. Only those in charge of reviewing suggestions should have access to the key.
- Virtual: Ask your IT specialist to ensure protocols for anonymous feedback. Have a few people test the suggestion box and give feedback before going live.
6. Announce and promote the box.
Announce to employees. If appropriate, include the following in your communication:
- Why you value employee feedback
- How often suggestions will be reviewed
- Incentives for winning suggestions
It’s also important to include some guidelines. While you don’t want employees to feel you are not open to negative comments, feedback that isn’t constructive doesn’t help anyone. Ask employees to avoid it and instead make suggestions for improvement.
7. Implement and say thank you.
Implementing great ideas can not only improve your company but make employees feel valued and happy. Encourage employees to make suggestions with incentives for winning suggestions, such as small cash prizes or gift cards,
Most importantly, ensure you give credit when great ideas have improved a process or saved the company money. This will encourage more innovation from your employees and make the suggestion box even more effective.
Key tips for an effective suggestion box
Here are some high-level tips to make your suggestion box effective and successful:
- Ensure privacy for anonymous comments.
- Tailor your suggestion form to make sorting feedback easier.
- When you promote, give tips to make feedback constructive.
- Let employees know the review schedule so they’re aware their feedback is being heard.
- Incentivize by awarding prizes for winning ideas.
Suggestion box FAQs
A suggestion box is great for learning how your employees feel about your company, inviting new ideas and making employees feel heard. Here are some commonly asked questions about suggestion boxes:
- Where should a suggestion box be located?
- Should a suggestion box be locked?
- Is it better to use a physical or virtual suggestion box?
- How often should a suggestion box be emptied?
Where should a suggestion box be located?
A suggestion box should be placed in a convenient part of the office where it is accessible to all employees.
Should a suggestion box be locked?
For the sake of protecting anonymity, it is important to have a suggestion box with a lock. Only those in charge of reviewing suggestions should have access to the key.
It depends on your employees, the type of business and the tools people use to do their jobs. If you have a population that works in a physical location and is less dependent on computers for their jobs, a physical box may be useful. If your employee population is partly virtual, spread out over several locations, or very computer and mobile-dependent, then a virtual box could be more practical.
How often should a suggestion box be emptied?
It depends on your population and the number of contributions. Keep track of submissions when you first implement, and schedule reviews based on volume. The most important thing is to let employees know that their suggestions are being reviewed and considered.

How to Create a Successful Employee Suggestion Program
A well-constructed employee suggestion program—launched with organizational commitment, clarity, and ongoing communication—can have a positive impact on a company’s bottom line and infuse its employees with motivation and enthusiasm.
An ill-conceived, hastily launched, undefined employee suggestion program can turn people off and generate ill will, cynicism, and misunderstanding. This is the fate of many employee suggestion programs thoughtlessly launched via an employee suggestion box. So plan first.
Does Your Company Need a Suggestion Box?
Before launching an employee suggestion program, consider your corporate culture. Do you currently receive fresh and thoughtful ideas?
If employee suggestions already percolate to the surface at staff meetings and in casual conversation, more informal methods for cultivating new ideas are called for then a full-blown employee suggestion program or suggestion box. For example:
- Schedule departmental brainstorming sessions.
- Generate ideas about specific topics during your weekly staff meeting.
- Set a monthly lunch for every employee to submit at least one idea.
- Ask managers to bring three employee ideas to each managers’ meeting.
If you need to do better, begin by asking what about your culture is stifling ideas? Your program must eliminate or circumvent those roadblocks before you begin, or any employee suggestion program is destined to fail.
How to Set Up a Review Team
Successful employee suggestions programs require management. Set up a cross-functional team with the power to implement the suggestions it receives. The team should review suggestions and acknowledge their receipt within 48 hours. If this team is all managers or all directors, it can be perceived as out of touch or blocking change. So people on it must be willing to change and willing to ask “why not” rather than “why”?
All departments, especially Finance, must be represented. If the managers or directors review suggestions, make the review part of a regularly scheduled meeting, with suggestions distributed and considered in advance. If a cross-functional employee team is your selected suggestion review vehicle, the choice of team members for the suggestion review team should include the positions that reflect how business is generally accomplished in your culture.
If the team meets more often than monthly, it becomes more work than people are usually willing to do. Rotate members of this team 4-6 times a year, but not all members at once.
Steps to Success
Establish areas for suggestions: Set guidelines for topics open to suggestions—unless you want to encourage only things like “put an ice cream machine in the lunchroom” or “let us go home early on Fridays.” These will likely include ideas that affect cost savings, quality, productivity, process improvements, revenue-generation, and morale-enhancement.
Communicate the submission and review process: Publicly share all the guidelines and especially the goals you are trying to accomplish by starting an employee suggestion program.
Require details about the implementation: It is easy to dash off an idea, so require an explanation from the suggester of how they think it should be implemented. You don’t need a full-blown action plan, but more than a sentence or two.
Solicit potential impact: Require the “why” and “how” the idea will impact the company, including a cost savings analysis. But keep the process simple. Don’t turn off employees from the get-go with a three-page form that appears burdensome.
Deal differently when it’s the employee’s own job: Employees should always be thinking of ways to improve their own job without having to run it past an approval team. Give managers a way to reward people who come up with ideas that should be implemented immediately, yet fit the goals of the suggestion program.
Put an employee in charge: Designate an administrator for the employee suggestion program who will make sure the process moves as promised and does not get bogged down by a morale-busting inefficient review committee.
Designate a champion from senior management: This lends credibility to the employee suggestion program and makes suggesters feel important.
Rewards and Recognition
The reward for implemented suggestions must be clearly defined on the front end. If the employee idea saves the company money, in many employee suggestion programs the employee receives a percentage of the cost savings. This award can equal 5-20% of the proven cost savings.
Recognize that cost savings are hard to “prove” if you don’t have good numbers defining the process before the employee suggestion is implemented. Often, the first step in a cost-saving suggestion implementation is to “measure” the process to make sure you know how it is currently performing.
Other, less measurable process ideas need a standard reward designated. Often, what’s most important to the employee is recognition.
Rewards can include merchandise with the company logo, gift certificates, lunch with a manager of the employee’s choice, a quarterly award dinner, and points toward purchasing more expensive items from catalogs.
Indeed, given the difficulty of measuring the outcome of many employee suggestions, some companies offer these recognition rewards even when the ideas added to the bottom line substantially. This is not as motivating as the employee receiving a portion of the savings realized during a defined time period.
Feedback in Your Employee Suggestion Program
Make the feedback to people with suggestions private, especially if the idea is rejected. Otherwise, people are unlikely to stick their necks out by offering out-of-the-ordinary suggestions that are possibly your most fruitful.
When an employee suggestion is implemented and results in a reward, publicly acknowledge the contribution at a staff meeting, with the permission of the employee involved. Additionally, you can post the employee suggestion, the names of the employees on the implementation team, and the reward given.
In many organizations, suggestions seem to disappear into a dark hole from which they may not emerge for months—a guaranteed failure for the employee suggestion program.
Keeping the employee suggestion program participants abreast of the progress of their suggestions is more important than providing the suggester with quick answers. Employees just want to know what is happening with their ideas.
A popular approach to suggestion implementation is to include the suggester on any implementation team. This also keeps the suggestions turned in reasonable. At a minimum, if a suggestion is accepted, set an implementation timeline the suggester understands.
More Pointers for a Successful Suggestion Program
Employee suggestion programs must emphasize quality over quantity of suggestions. Many programs encourage the opposite, causing discouragement when they don’t supply much bang for the money and time invested.
Anonymous employee suggestions are not recommended. People should be willing to publicly stand behind their ideas. That’s the type of company culture you need to encourage to create a successful organization.
Reward not just the employees who submit winning ideas. Reward and recognize the managers and supervisors who do the best job of encouraging employee suggestions and getting out of the way of progress.
Game-changing ideas come from everywhere. Consider including customers and suppliers as suggesters, too, especially as your employee suggestion program matures.

Article Review of the box “Settlers.Promobox “| all about board games
Today in the review, as it turned out after opening and familiarization, a unique box from “Zvezda” . It is unique in that there is no other language like it, as far as I understand. Although BGG, it turns out, is not an assistant in this matter, since such a Russian edition is not indicated there either. Either it was released specifically for our market, or I am not catching up with something. In any case, let’s disassemble the contents, and what happened where it came out is the tenth thing; most importantly, we got our goodies in one lot.
I’ll start with the fact that I’m keeping a close eye on the Imperial Settlers , all sorts of mini-dopas of 10 cards per nation and other micro-nonsense didn’t interest me. Running and buying some kind of matchbox for the next 10 bucks is a challenge for the fans of the title. Here are the stages that introduce new nations with their own decks – it’s another matter. But even their hands did not reach them, although it is interesting to try something new. All the same, the basic four 90,035 Romans-barbarians-Japanese-Egyptians were more than enough for dozens of parties.
“Settlers. Promobox “ is another matter, it expands the base game almost twice, without spawning entities. The box includes all three previously released mini-expansions: Why Can’t We Be Friends (2014), 3 Is a Magic Number (2016) and the most recent We Didn’t Start The Fire (2018) … The essence of each of them is as follows: a pack of cards is added for each nation and a new nuance or two, some of which are very significant.Cards can be shuffled into your deck according to certain rules, sharpening the nation for something specific.
For tournament players, this may seem important, but let’s be honest, the vast majority of people are not interested in any tournament. And the organization of such events in our country, to put it mildly, is very poorly organized, everything rests on the enthusiasm of individuals. The situation has changed in recent years, but the fact remains that you play 95% of the games in the tabletop games at home / in the club of the same English gentlemen and get your own tabletop pleasure. For me, as an exclusively home player, the new ten cards were not very interesting for the nation, but getting thirty at once (in fact, a new deck) is a very attractive offer.
In total, thanks to the promo box, the thickness of each imperial deck is doubled and community cards are added on top. “That’s cool,” I thought, and, figuring out which cards from which set and what to put where for the organization, I realized that in addition to these three mini-stages, our box also contains all the promo expansions, including all sorts of cardboard plates! Not a fan of collecting one by one unique cards issued by developers for all sorts of conventions and exhibitions, but even then I was glad – almost everything that ever came out was crammed under one cover for us and – here you go, play.
A total of almost 180 cards
What can I say: for such boxes, and I will vote in rubles. It is a great gesture to give all those who do not go to themed events an opportunity to receive a unique cardboard collected from all exhibitions at a time. I don’t know how and who agreed on this, whether there is something like this in all languages, and I don’t care as a consumer – now all three mini-dopas are at hand, all the dies and cards that were once issued in one copy in separate sets. And for this you did not need to travel to Poland, Germany or order hotel cartons from e-beys.
Okay, let’s get to the content. Let’s start with three main mini-expansions, each of which adds ten nation cards. We multiply this by three, so we have 120 fresh cards. We will not consider the buildings separately, of course, but here is the general outline of the “plot” and I will tell about the innovations in more detail.
There are also 10 cards for the Atlantean nation in the set (there, in the photo on the right they are), in the box with which – if you purchased it before – there were already 50 Imperial cards, so the total will also be 60.
The first thing worth talking about is the imperial deck. Now it can be customized. That is, in the game the player will still have a deck of 30 cards, but which of the 60 available to each nation will end up there depends only on your desire (and on the rules for building a deck, of course; they are very simple). The meaning of this is to give players the opportunity to create their own unique collections, sharpened for something specific, like you in a particular nation. There are also tournament rules where it is forbidden to mix different stages, but it’s up to you how to play.
In addition to instructions on how to create your own unique national deck, any minor addition in Settlers , in fact, adds only new buildings, opening up additional opportunities for interaction with the functionality of the mechanics. We will not consider each small box separately; They are a single set for us, in our Russian edition – so we will compile all the interesting things in the following several points.
First, there is a lot more peaceful interaction, thanks to buildings with the co-production feature. These are mining buildings, where the enemy can come and also have something to fuck, giving the little man for this to the owner of the house. Whether or not to build such resource extraction is up to you. You either open up new opportunities for other players, but you yourself receive a reward in the form of an extra person for using, or refuse this and engage in more standard development. In any case, you will not go wrong – there is a choice, and this is good.
Secondly, there are now warehouse buildings where you can stuff certain resources at the end of the round so that they don’t burn out. At the same time, you also get some kind of serious bonus, such as additional points or copying folded resources. In fact, you either, as usual, make the most of all the accumulated good that you have, or you postpone something for future moves and get excellent compensation.
Third, the concept of “sets” appeared. These are three buildings of one or more colors. Some cards now interact with this concept. For example, you are given bonuses for sets of yellow cards – this is your development vector. If there is something to choose from, we try to go to yellow and collect suitable houses. Specification and emphasis in a certain color was previously observed in each individual nation, but now they have become … more interesting and meaningful, or something.
Fourthly – and this is the most important – active military interaction with opponents has appeared. Now in Settlers there is a concept of “conquest” – imperial enemy buildings can be captured! That is, to take control. As with attacks on general locations, swords are used here, only you need at least two of them. In general, read the rules in more detail, but I will only mention that weapons have become a much more valuable resource than before. For example, it was one of the most important in the base of the barbarians, but now it is quite scary to go beyond its borders, because at any moment the enemy can come and attach your gorgeous border location to their possessions. Yes, for this you still need to pump military power, but think, it’s worth it – the conqueror receives not only 2 points, but also deprives the enemy of 2, and this is in addition to the acquired properties of the building.
In this regard, the concept of the location of locations has been introduced – those buildings that you build later (to the left of the rest, in board terminology) in time are located as if on the “border” and require fewer swords from the enemy to capture. By default, those located “in the depths” of the empire are better protected, so there is also such an element as construction planning (and corresponding specific actions on some cards).
Added additional buildings-generators of victory points to the same topic – fortresses . Each move can be “completed” by spending resources and have more and more profit. However, enemies are allowed to attack them with two swords, regardless of when the fortress was built (it seems to be always on the border), and to demolish it to the ground (you will have to rebuild it again if you want to generate points).
Action cards also appeared. But you can not even count this as an item, since there are only two of them and they do not make the weather. Why more was not added and why these two were introduced is not very clear. Well, there is – and there is. They were discovered by the players back in the first small expansion, so perhaps this is a touchstone that did not come in, after which such cards were abandoned.
That’s all the new maps gave to the nations. The main thing is not even fresh chips in the mechanics, but a wide choice provided to players to customize their imperial deck. It is very, you know, interesting to play with something non-standard and unrepentant for dozens of games, while remaining faithful to the development vector of your favorite barbarians (insert the name of your favorite nation here). A real breath of fresh air, as if you are rediscovering the game for yourself.
Two Action Cards
But Settlers.Promobox “ would not have been fully promoted if it did not contain the following:
– Cardboard dice with additional game rules. These dies were also handed out at the Essens of some years there (I know for sure only about 2016). A variety of variations of the rule are introduced into the game – everything is described on them.
– Micro Dopa Dice Exploration Tiles , which give good bonuses to those who pass first.
– The most important thing: promo cards, which can only be obtained by e-beys.I’m not sure if everything that exists was included in the Russian set, but we definitely have a lot of them =) Most of all, personally, I like micro-dop Ruins with “naked” locations that reward all sorts of different things for the construction.
Impressions and results are simple : a must-have box for fans and just fans of the game. In fact, the review was written purely for the sake of “sharing a positive experience”, since there is nothing to review here in fact: cabbage soup has become thicker and more rich.Crammed into Settlers. Promobox “ too many nishtyaks – so why, as I said above, am not a fan of” here’s a new card for visiting the exhibition “(nafig did it give up to me?) And” ten cards for ten bucks “, but when everything is collected under one cover then it feels like a large full-fledged extension doubling the board’s content. They don’t pass by this.
Mechanically, much more interaction options appeared in the game, since open production also makes itself felt, and even more so the capture of enemy national locations.Well, and on the little things – buildings that in some way interact (up to theft) with resources and houses of opponents. I highly recommend to fans of Imperial Settlers for acquaintance, since now you do not need to collect everything separately.
P.S. Here’s something else I forgot: in the box “Settlers. Promobox “ those who do not have fixed base cards yet will find a replacement for them. Nice little bonus. After the release of the game in 2014, the authors have already managed to make some adjustments to a dozen + cards (example below), so now you can play without reminders – we just replace the cards with corrected duplicates.

90,000 Thoughts on Plywood Organizer Box for Munchkin | all about board games
I will continue the topic about plywood boxes for games , which I started in my first diary entry.
Today – about my first self-made box – for a whole bunch of Munchkin sets.
Like many domestic board gamers of my age, as a child I played all sorts of “kick-move” and “Manager”, and at a slightly older age I rediscovered the world of board games, playing with friends in “Munchkin”.I am not indifferent to “Munchkin” from the moment I got acquainted with the very first version published in Russia (SMART publishing house, 2008). And after several games – given the quality of the publication and, especially, the translation: with inaccuracies, and sometimes with gross errors – I wanted to make “Munchkin” in my own edition. History remembers this time: it was March 2009. Then, having got hold of on the net and translated the English-language scans, I made the first layout in CorelDraw, hoping to someday print my version of the maps. And then I found out about the add-on. And then about other additions …
This was the first edition of the Munchkin game in Russia
Soon, as expected, I found on the Internet a forum known to Russian-speaking munchkins and got acquainted with the translations and design of various “Munchkins” by the country’s chief munchkinologist Dmitry Moldon, and then (albeit only via the Internet and very superficially) with him. Dmitry was prolific and active, and this cooled my desire to share my translations with the public, so as not to multiply the essence. But for myself, I continued to translate and edit, checking occasionally with the authority already recognized in Russia in the Russification of this series of games.
Evolution of Munchkin cards in my design – highlights.
The pockmarked background is a tribute to the memory of that very first knowledge. Now he refused.
So the years passed. Maybe years. The layouts and design options of the cards changed, the additions multiplied … But they still did not reach the printing. Here’s a little more, one more set, another small set … And finally, at the end of October 2016, having caught up and surpassed Dmitry in translated and decorated additions to the classic fantasy “Munchkin”, I took more than 700 megabytes to the printing house … The saber cutter and corner rounder had already settled in my house and were waiting in the wings. It turned out 1477 cards – all from the official fantasy “Munchkin”, which by that time I could find on Russian-language and foreign forums and sites, and a little more from myself, for the convenience of the game. The cards are laminated – not an easy decision, but I wanted durability.
Fantasy “Munchkin” – all that I found in Russian and English by October 2016.
The top two vertical piles are seven large sets, to the left and right of them are self-made Gender and Epic Ability cards. At the very bottom – “Munchkins” 6 and 6.5.
Everything else – mini addons, promo cards, W23, etc.
Of course, this wealth must be placed in a worthy storehouse.Back in 2013, a dispenser box was conceived and in the same October 2016 made (yes, I am leisurely) according to my own project, which allows you to both store cards and rules, and conveniently use them during the game – after all, such the deck cannot be put in two piles. I immediately wanted a box with several internal compartments so that we could organize sets – we always mix something into the game, and add something from time to time. In addition, there are double-sized Dungeon cards in the add-ons, and it would also be nice to store the rules in the same box.The lid was also immediately planned to be removable and transformable into a kind of cardholder, allowing you to hold huge decks of Doors and Treasures and suggesting a place for the corresponding discard decks.
One of the first versions of the box drawing
At first, I was honestly going to cut out all the details in accordance with the layout from a sheet of plywood myself. But then I learned about such a cool thing as laser cutting. Acquaintances were found who started their small business in this niche, the layout was finalized, inscriptions and drawing for engraving were added. After receiving the parts from the cut (they were already stained), I glued them together using PVA, having received four larger parts, generously varnished them in several layers and assembled the final product. A couple of hinges had to be modified, making them detachable so that the cardholder cover could be removed. Not everything in this box turned out to be perfect, but the result suited me very, very well.
Organizer box for Munchkin – general view
On the shelf the box is kept with the inscription “Munchkin” to people
Instead of a lock – a non-glued tenon joint.Holds well.
The main part of the organizer box in which the cards are stored. At the bottom of the trays for rules, etc.
The lid of the box detaches and during the game serves as a cardholder for already rather large decks “Munchkin”
The work continues – after all, during this time several more mini-additions to the fantasy “Munchkin” have been released, and besides it there are many other themed games from this endless and incomparable series.I have already added some of these games to my collection. There is still space in the box, but there is not much of it. Meanwhile, the technology for making plywood boxes is also being improved and applied to new games.
Steampunk Gift Box
I really love steampunk: all sorts of gears and mechanisms. And I really love the combination of gold and silver paper with craft. Therefore, today we will decorate a gift box in this style, especially since the idea of such a decor has been ripening for me for a very long time.Such a box is well suited, for example, for a watch.
As a basis, we will take an ordinary micro-corrugated cardboard box of size 11 * 11 * 11.5 cm.
For work we need:
- Blank box (a link to the product card will be at the end of the article)
- Printout template (PDF format)
- Gold and silver A4 paper, density 120g / m2 (a link to the product card will be at the end of the article)
- Glue stick and glue moment.
- Double-sided tape
- Cutting mat, ruler, knife, scissors
- A small piece of micro-corrugated cardboard (11 * 11cm).
There are two pages in the layout:
The first one is printed on silver paper, the second on gold paper.
You can give anything in such a box, but since I have a watch, I decided to write a quote from the movie “Vanilla Sky” around the perimeter of the frame:
“Every minute that passes is another chance to change everything.”
Cut out all the details.
For squares, do not cut off the rounded corners right away, just make straight cuts along the ruler. Then it will be easier with gluing these parts.
For gears, it is better to first cut out small parts inside, then outside.
Next, put the frame on the box lid, evenly, in the center and so that the frame does not cover the lock, and draw a thin pencil line around the inner contour. We will erase this mark later, so do not make it very bold. I barely see it.
And then we apply gears, roughly outline the future composition.
It is better to take a picture of the option you like, so that later, when you start gluing, it will be more convenient to navigate.
Take the first (lowest) gear, apply and mark the marks, departing 2-3mm from the frame outline. That is, for the part to go out of frame.
Cut off, glue (use glue stick), take the next one.
And so on:
I do not glue the upper large gear wheel completely, but only the central part. In this case, the teeth do not adhere to the surface and a volumetric effect is created.
Don’t touch the last small gear yet, put it aside. And erase all the pencil lines with an eraser.
Then we take the frame and outline the contour on a sheet of micro-corrugated cardboard, but when cutting out, we retreat about 1 mm inward so that the cardboard blank is thinner.
And glue the frame to this cardboard blank.
It turns out such a “volumetric” frame.
We glue the frame on the box lid, trying to do it neatly and evenly. It is better to glue the moment to the glue – it is more liquid and will stick better to an uneven surface (which has become uneven due to the gears) and besides, it does not grasp immediately and will allow you to slightly adjust the position of the frame, if suddenly something went wrong somewhere So.
And leave the box to dry under the press.
While the box is drying, take the remaining small gear. Cut out two small circles from microcorrugated cardboard, slightly smaller than the central part of the gear.
And glue it to the wrong side. It turns out here is such a “leg”.
And then we glue this gear on the cover. Better to use glue-moment. Since this gear turned out to be higher than the other parts (because of the “leg”), it will overlap the frame and create a nice 3D effect.
Now we take the square parts – the sides of our box and glue double-sided tape around the perimeter.
Cut off semicircular corners. It’s easier to do this when the tape is already on, and not vice versa. When gluing tape to previously rounded corners, it is more difficult to achieve complete filling of the corners with tape.
And glue all the details to the edges of the box.
And our box is ready)
I wish you creative success!)
PaPa Lingua: How to store cards: 20 ways
If you love cards, sooner or later you will ask yourself
(or Google) the question: “How to store them?” I already had to look for an answer to this question.Want
share with you what Google answered me.
Some of the ideas in the photo are not for language lessons. But you can apply them to language too, right? 🙂
If you have a way to store your cards that is not described in this article, tell us about it!
There are many ways to store cards. They can be divided
for 2 groups:
– by type of container
– by the type of connection of cards
(1) shoebox (or other large box)
(2) tin box
(3) a box of chocolates (my favorite option is from under
(4) for cotton swabs
(6) for household needs
(7) for storing photos
(10) plastic or cardboard
(12) card holders
Pouches / Zip Pouches
(17) Folders with storage pockets
(18) Library catalog (boxes)
2.Card connection type
(19) On ring
(20) Clothespins, clips, elastic bands
1. If cards are laminated with ,
they will last a long time. If you don’t have a laminator, you can tape the cards over, although
it will probably be less neat.
2. In order to make it easy to find the cards, it is convenient if
container signed (topic).
3. You can add color code to cards, for example, frames of different colors for different themes.
4. If you keep cards on different topics in the same box,
it is convenient to make dividers .
CRM card setup in Bitrix24
In this article, we will prepare CRM cards in Bitrix24. Let’s do it for leads, deals, contacts and companies. In CRM, managers work with cards most of their time. For managers to work faster and more efficiently, it is required to prepare CRM cards. Hide standard fields unnecessary for filling and create your own missing ones if required.

How the CRM card works in Bitrix24
A card in CRM is an entry (element) in the Leads, Deals, Contacts and Companies sections.Click on the item and a pop-up slider will appear, in which all the information is available. Also, each element has its own unique address. A link for each page is available next to the item title. You can create other items from the card, create tasks, and perform various other actions.
The CRM cards themselves consist of fields on the left and a timeline on the right. The fields are needed to record all the necessary information about the client. Timeline is a history of communication with a client, where all calls, letters and other activities are saved.
Include a new CRM card
If your Bitrix24 portal was created before 2018, then you may not have a new CRM card enabled yet. Since the old card will no longer develop, I recommend including the current version.
In new portals that are currently being created, the new card is automatically enabled.
How to enable the new card ?
Go to CRM – Settings – Other – Other settings and check the box next to Enable new CRM card.Done.
What you need to know about standard fields
Each card has its own set of standard fields from Bitrix24. For example, the field “Contact” to a customer, Mr. or Mrs. in the cards of the lead and contact. These and other fields you do not need can be hidden directly from anywhere. To do this, hover over the selected field, click on the gear and in the pop-up menu, click “Hide”.
Do not change the name of the standard fields in the cards, although this option is present in the settings. This can lead to confusion and data loss.
What you need to know about custom fields
Bitrix24 CRM is used for different businesses, naturally, different companies need a different set of fields to display the necessary information. Bitrix24 allows you to add missing fields to leads, deals, contacts, companies, invoices.
To add a field, you need to hover over the caption that appears at the bottom of any “Create field” block. Then select the field type from the proposed list and give it a name. Let’s create the “Estimate” field for the “Deal” entity. The field type is “File”. In this field, at the transaction level, the manager loads the estimate file in Word format.
There are different types of fields:
- text, for text records;
- a string to select one or more values from the previously set;
- date, to select a date from the built-in calendar;
- address, to indicate the address using the built-in Google map;
- monetary, for monetary indicators, with the ability to specify the currency;
- yes / no, for quick polling;
- number, for storing numerical information and others.
Do not create an excessive number of fields that are optional or filled from time to time: this will confuse and discourage managers. Make the minimum required number – let there be fewer fields, but they will be required.
Save card settings for all managers
After hiding unnecessary standard fields from the cards, adding your own fields and arranging them in the desired order, you need to save the settings for displaying and arranging fields for all users (managers).
Where to configure ?
In each CRM card in the create or edit mode, click the gear menu, in the drop-down list select “General view of the card”, then “Set a common card for all users.”
Additional features of the CRM card
Add cases and comments to the event feed (hereinafter the timeline) of the deal and lead. Plan your work with the client completely from the CRM card – you can leave a comment, schedule a task, etc.d .:
The process of creating a comment is very simple. The comment input window has a familiar visual editor. You can style the text, add a mention of another employee and attach additional materials (file, video).
An important comment can be pinned to the top of the timeline using the stud button.
It is a cool replacement for paper stickers on your desktop. Now all important notes for each trade are just a few clicks away.
How to remove a comment from a CRM card?
If a previously created comment is no longer up-to-date: edit, unpin or delete it. Just call up the additional menu by clicking on the arrow.
Memorizing, but not cramming – learning “by cards”
The method of studying various disciplines “by cards”, which is also called the Leitner system, has been known for about 40 years. Despite the fact that it is most often used to replenish vocabulary, learn formulas, definitions or dates, the method itself is not just another way of “cramming”, but a tool to support the educational process. It allows you to save the time required to memorize a large amount of information.

A day after the lecture, the student only needs ten minutes to review what he has learned. In a week, it will take five minutes. In a month, a couple of minutes will be enough for his brain to “answer”: “Yes, yes, I remember everything.” Research from the University of Alberta has shown a positive impact of Flashcards-Plus on student grades.
The hero of another example – Roger Craig in 2010 won the Jeopardy! and received 77 thousand dollars in prize money.
In online learning, the system is used everywhere: there are almost no educational services where cards would not be integrated. The system is used in the study of almost all basic disciplines, and dozens of specialized applications have already been developed for it, both desktop and mobile. The first of them – SuperMemo – was developed by Piotr Wozniak in 1985.
First of all, he tried to improve the educational process for himself – in relation to the study of the English language. The method brought results, and the software turned out to be quite successful, and it is being updated now. Of course, there are other, more popular apps like Anki and Memrise that use the same principles as SuperMemo.
Prerequisites for the emergence of the method
One of the pioneers of experimental psychology, Hermann Ebbinghaus, studying the patterns of memory at the end of the 19th century, described the so-called dynamics of forgetting. Later, scientists have repeatedly repeated his experiments, examining the “Ebbinghaus curve”, and found that it changes depending on the characteristics of the material being studied. So, lectures or poems, being meaningful material, were better remembered. In addition, the quality of memorization was influenced by individual characteristics and external conditions – fatigue, quality of sleep and environment. But on the whole, the studies have confirmed the basic laws of the phenomenon discovered by Hermann Ebbinghaus.
Based on it, a seemingly obvious conclusion was made: in order to preserve knowledge, repetition of the material is required. But for high efficiency of the whole process, this must be done at certain time intervals. This technique of repetition with increasing intervals was first tested on students by Herbert Spitzer of Iowa State University in 1939. But the Ebbinghaus curve and spaced repetition technique would have remained just observations if it weren’t for Robert Bjork and Sebastian Leitner. For several decades, Bjork studied the features of memorization, published dozens of works that significantly supplemented Ebbinghaus’s ideas, and Leitner proposed in the 70s a memorization method using cards.
How it works
In the classical Leitner system, outlined in How To Learn To Learn, he recommends preparing several hundred paper cards. Suppose there is a word in a foreign language on one side of the card, on the other – its interpretation and examples of use.In addition, five boxes are needed. In the first – all cards go. After viewing them, cards with unknown words remain in the box, and already familiar ones fall into the second. The next day, you need to start again from the first box: it is obvious that some of the words can be remembered. This is how the second box is replenished. On the second day, both need to be reviewed. Cards with known words from the first box are moved to the second, from the second to the third, and so on. The “Unknowns” are returned to the first box.In this way, all five boxes are gradually filled.
After that the most important thing begins. The cards from the first box are reviewed and sorted every day. From the second – every two days, from the third – every four days, from the fourth – every nine days, from the fifth – once every two weeks. What you managed to remember is moved to the next box, what is not – to the previous one.

It will take at least a month to memorize everything or almost everything. But daily activities will take no more than half an hour. Ideally, according to Bjork, it is necessary to recall what has been learned exactly when we already begin to forget it. But in practice, this moment is almost impossible to track. Therefore, it will not be possible to achieve one hundred percent result. However, with the help of Leitner’s method, in a month, you can recall much more than a fifth of the information that remains in memory according to Ebbinghaus’s observations.
An alternative approach is to use specialized software. This software has two differences from the “paper” method. Firstly, almost all of them have mobile versions, which means that you can study on the way to work or school.
