  • This Color is Perfect for My Skin, (purchaselover NY)

I haven’t used it enough to say whether it helped clear up my occasional acne; however, it’s sheer enough and the color matches my skin. Will be a good concealer.

Game Changer: How To Apply Concealer Like A Pro

Game Changer

How To Apply

Concealer Like A Pro

You know those moments in life when you wish you had a magic wand to make things just go away? Long lines at the grocery store—boom, gone. That speeding ticket—swoosh, never happened. The out-of-nowhere zit on your chin—wait, there is an instant fix for that. It’s called Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer Camouflage + 24-Hour Wear and it’s considered the ultimate makeup essential for its ability to make unwanted and unexpected things (think pimples, redness and undereye circles) magically disappear. The oil-free formula easily conceals imperfections, blends seamlessly and lasts a full 24 hours without succumbing to water, sweat and humidity—and stays color-true.

Here, Clinique Colour Pro Florrie White shares a few of her magic tricks. One tip that always applies: Before dabbing any concealer onto your face, squeeze it on the back of your hand, like how a painter uses a palette. “Your body heat will warm up the concealer so that it melts seamlessly and evenly into your skin,” advises Florrie.

How to cover a blemish.

Step 1: Place a minimal amount of concealer onto the tip of a concealer brush. Avoid using your fingertips—they’re too big to be precise and any dirt or oil on them can worsen the blemish.

Step 2: Use quick dotting motions to cover the pimple. This helps to conceal redness while leaving the skin around the blemish clear. Let it set for a few seconds, then repeat if needed to build coverage. “When camouflaging blemishes on your chin or cheek, push your tongue underneath it to make the skin taut while you apply the concealer. This helps make the application more precise and even,” says Florrie.

Step 3: Set with a translucent powder using a powder brush and light dabbing motions.

How to disguise dark circles.

Step 1: Prep the undereye area with a lightweight, moisturizing eye cream. The hydration will plump the skin and keep the concealer from settling into fine lines.

Step 2: If you have a medium to dark skin tone and dark circles with a blue-ish tint, blend a drop of Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer Camouflage + 24-Hour Wear Apricot Color Corrector into your regular shade of concealer. This extra dose of apricot neutralizes the blue and purple undertones.

Step 3: Lightly tap (never rub or drag) the concealer under the eye area, over your lids, and into the inner corner of each eye to conceal any shadows. Use your ring finger as it has a lighter touch than your other fingers, which is ideal for the thin, delicate skin around the eyes.

Step 4: If you have oily skin, close your eyes and sweep a light layer of translucent setting powder over the concealer.

How to conceal redness.

Step 1: Prep skin with a calming moisturizer to help soothe visible irritation.

Step 2: Use a makeup sponge or your fingers to lightly pat and blend a thin layer of concealer to the area that needs coverage. Like everything from Clinique, Beyond Perfecting Super Concealer Camouflage + 24-Hour Wear is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested, so it is ideal for sensitive skin. As you blend, stay as close to that area as possible so you don’t irritate the skin around it. Tip: Capillaries that peep through your eyelids can make your eye area appear red. A swipe of concealer over lids before applying eye shadow will neutralize the redness and ensure your makeup looks more true-to-color.  Let it set, then repeat if needed to build coverage.

Step 3: Gently pat area with a yellow-toned powder for extra anti-redness insurance.

How To Apply
Concealer Like A Pro

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, my review

Remember, I mentioned that story in my online shopping post , I had ordered it on the Nordstrom website after having seen at a lot of swatches on the internet in order to find the closest color to my skin tone .
It’s always a bit risky to order a foundation online, especially when it’s a newly released product, with basically no reviews whatsoever. So I tried to look on Temptalia (the Foundation Matrix, which helps you find the right foundation shade depending on other foundations you used to wear or some data you enter on the site) but unfortunately, it didn’t work exactly the way I wanted…

I ordered the color Creamwhip 04, thinking it would be a good match for my skin tone (I’m a NC20-25) (for those here who don’t speak Foundation fluently, my skin is fair with small yellow undertones), and I ended with a product not only too dark but also very peachy (I say “peachy” to be polite, because it was clearly orange). Great for a shade described as light beige!
So, about the rate in the review for the range of colors, I already knew I was going to sack it! wink

Thankfully, I finally managed to get my hands on the lightest shade, Alabaster (02), which is much better. It’s not the perfect match, there is always that little peachy undertone, but fortunately it doesn’t look orange once it’s on my skin! smile

I have been a huge fan of Clinique foundations for ages. The Continuous Coverage was my first foundation… You know, this very thick product, almost impossible to blend but which covers acne scars like nothing else! (it really helped me to handle this complicated transition in my life that is adolescence and all those skin issues)

Since then, I have remained quite faithful to the brand’s foundations. I love the fact that they’re sensitive skin friendly: fragrance free, non-comedogenic… For me, the Clinique bases are really the safe bet. They have some of the qualities of luxury makeup, namely the quality of the formula with the latest technical innovations and above all, a true choice of colors (well, usually ahem).
And they’re often cheaper than other luxury brand foundations. For a Dior or Chanel foundation, the price is often $45 or $50, while a Clinique base is around $25-30.

A new Clinique foundation is a real event for the loyal Clinique customer that I am! smile

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, presentation:

Here is how Clinique is explaining its new foundation:

“An oil-free foundation and concealer in one that achieves a flawless look that lasts all day.

This lightweight, moisturizing foundation and concealer provides full coverage without clogging pores. This 12-hour wear, breathable formula is ideal for very dry to combination oily skin types, its special polymer formula forms a flexible film that moves with the skin for lasting wear, and it dries slowly for easy blending. Get lasting coverage and give skin a perfected look that stays put, even through sweat and humidity.

Just one dip of the wand gives you a full-face application, and it can be used to spot-conceal, too. Due to the rich pigment level that enhances this flawless coverage makeup, shades may appear deeper when first applied. Once blended completely and allowed to dry, Beyond Perfecting Makeup will blend into your skin for a Beyond Perfected flawless look—a little goes a long way.

This product is ophthalmologist tested, allergy tested, and 100 percent fragrance free.“

I confess that even that the fact that it’s a 2 in 1 foundation + concealer doesn’t really interest me. However the claim of natural and covering finish, suitable for combination skins and the long-lasting power even in extreme weather conditions (helloooo sweaty boiling hot Dubai summer), well, that peaked my interest!

Regarding the formula of this foundation, Clinique has used the same technology as Smart, the ‘intelligent serum”, its latest skincare release.
This serum is supposed to adapt to your skin needs selectively: it moisturizes the dry or patchy areas and mattifies when there is an excess of sebum… Beyond Perfecting is perfect for combination skin, which often means several needs in different places of their face.

As always with Clinique, this is a product without any perfume. And it also doesn’t contain an SPF.

The coverage is rather medium to strong, and that’s really what I was looking with my current hormonal acne skin issues. However, the finish is quite natural and also mat. Personally, especially now, that’s exactly what I need with my complicated skin!

The range includes 20 shades. I’m not sure that they’re all available in stores but they’re all on Clinique.com.
However, if you have fair skin, I strongly advise you to visit your store to try it on your skin! The lightest shade is not so light…

For the application of this foundation, the brand has designed special packaging with a sponge applicator, like a giant concealer. The difference is that the applicator is much bigger. You can use it for applying the product directly on the skin before blending it on the face. It can also be used to apply the product on the imperfections that you want to conceal.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer, my opinion:

As I said above, the fact that it’s supposed to be a 2 in 1 Foundation + Concealer, frankly, I wasn’t really sold…
I have become so picky with concealing due to my very dark circles and my nasty acne pimples so I knew this definitely wouldn’t be enough. For a proper blemish correction, the color shouldn’t be the same as the foundation and the concealer texture is usually more opaque and dry so it doesn’t budge throughout the day.

I tried to use it as a concealer but it wasn’t super natural, almost cakey because I had to use a lot of product to cover the blemishes. In addition, it smudged. uneasy
So I’ll continue to use my usual concealers (yes, I have several)(I had mentioned them in the post about the perfect concealer if you want to know more about them smile ).
But if you don’t really have imperfections and under eye dark circles, I guess it can do the trick. But for me, it’s a no-no.

Also, when I saw the size of the sponge applicator, I was totally convinced that I was going to use this as a foundation only and that was about it. This sponge applicator is huge!!! Impossible to be precise with it.
It’s supposed to contain enough product for one application and it actually is.
I’m really not a big fan of this applicator. I don’t like the fact that the only way to apply the product is directly on the skin using it, it’s not hygienic at all!

Clinique recommends to use your finger tips to blend the product onto the skin. I tried but I didn’t really like it, I nearly always felt that I put too much product…
I tried it with a brush (my Full Coverage Face Brush by Bobbi Brown) and the Beauty Blender and I really preferred it that way. You still have the coverage but it is much more natural, as it was merged into the skin.

I also find the mattifying effect quite convincing and it also lasts pretty well on my skin. But an important thing to know if your skin is oily: you will definitely need to put some powder on top. I tried without it, and after 4-5 hours, my nose looked like a lump of butter in the sun. So if you’re like me, loose powder is your BFF!

No spots or black heads to be declared for me with this foundation, which is always a plus, isn’t it?

And it is also quite comfortable, it’s not drying at all. I also found that it doesn’t highlight my pores or my dry patches. It is not exactly a moisturizing product, let’s be realistic, it’s still a makeup product with limited penetration into the skin, so don’t expect too much with it! wink

Finally, the lasting power is quite good. It doesn’t move too much during the day. You simply need to absorb the shine after a few hours and it stays in place. The temperatures are not too hot at the moment, so I couldn’t give it an extreme crash test but it resists the 25-30 degrees that we have here right now.

In summary:

Pros

– the covering effect without looking like a mask
– the luminous matte finish (although matte effect does not last all day on me)
– it’s a nice formula to wear, it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin
– it’s not drying, it doesn’t highlight the pores or the dry patches
– it’s non-comedogenic
– the lasting power is very good

Cons

– the concealing effect is not enough
– the sponge applicator is not suitable for precise concealing
– the sponge applicator is not hygienic at all
– the color range clearly lacks of light shades

It’s a good product, especially for combination to oily skin like mine. But again, for me, it’s only a foundation, not a 2 in 1 product.
And please Clinique, can you add more lighter shades? Thanks a lot! wink

Finally, here is what it looks like on me:

Please, feel free to click on the image to enlarge it (I’m not sure to be super comfortable with the idea that you are zooming on my pores but oh well, I’m willing to sacrifice my self-esteem for the cause wink )

On the right picture, I applied the product with a brush and this is “raw” result, without any powder or concealer. (no blush or bronzer and I really look like a ghost)(give me my Hourglass blush palette immediately!!!)

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is available on Clinique website for $27.

And you, have you tried the Clinique Beyond Perfecting? What are your thoughts?

The texture is really nice. It has lovely hydrating, nourishing feel, that blends really easily into the skin for invisible yet flawless coverage. It builds really easily and can be built up under the eyes and around the nose to conceal and doesn’t go cakey or sink into lines. I love this!

Here’s shade Alabaster applied to the centre of the face using one ‘dip’ of the applicator and then blended out with a buffing brush. I then went back in and layered it under my eyes and around my nose as concealer and worked it in with the warmth of my fingertips.

I am so pleased with this!! I love a flawless look and this is so great on pores, fine lines and wrinkles, and evening out skin tone and redness. It pretty much does it all, delivering a naturally radiant finish – not too dewy, not too matte, and it deals with shine beautifully without powder. It is light and comfortable in feel too. Love it!!

No-breakout makeup: concealers for every skin type

We’re here to share what we know — but don’t take it as medical advice. Talk to your medical provider if you have questions.

What would we do without concealer? It’s the one makeup item anyone can use, even if makeup isn’t your thing. Dabbing a little concealer on a zit, dark spot, or under-eye dark circle can give you an instant confidence-boost and make even a “bad skin day” feel way better. But it’s important to be discerning with which concealer you use, especially if you’ve got acne-prone or sensitive skin. We’ve rounded up a handy list of concealers that won’t clog pores as part of our ongoing search for the best non-comedogenic makeup out there.

Concealers for acne-prone skin

The best concealers for acne will depend on your unique skin type, but definitely opt for non-comedogenic concealers without irritating ingredients. This applies to concealers for sensitive skin, too. Here’s how to check any product for irritating or pore-clogging ingredients!

The acne-friendly concealer with the best range of shades:

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer

We’re professed fans of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation, and the concealer is just as great. It comes in a range of 40 shades, offering the right color match for virtually everyone — which also makes it one of the best concealers for dark skin tones. Plus, it’s oil-free and formulated without any pore-clogging or skin-irritating ingredients.

More great options that pass the non-comedogenic test

  1. Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer

  2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

  3. Almay Clear Complexion Concealer

  4. bareMinerals Blemish Remedy Concealer

  5. Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer

  6. Boo-Boo Cover Up Concealer

  7. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout Concealer

  8. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

  9. NYX HD Concealer Wand

  10. Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Concealer

  11. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer

  12. L’Oreal Infallible Full Wear Waterproof Concealer

  13. Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

  14. L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Multi-Use Concealer

  15. BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Total Coverage Concealer

  16. BECCA Ultimate Coverage Longwear Concealer

  17. Kaja Don’t Settle Concealer

  18. L. A. Girl HD Pro Concealer

  19. E.l.f 16hr Camo Concealer

  20. Vapour Beauty Illusionist Concealer

Concealers for dry skin

Opt for liquid concealers over thicker creamy or powdery ones. For example, since the Fenty one we mentioned above is matte and oil-free, that might not be the best formula for dry skin. You could also try a liquid foundation in a slightly lighter shade, depending how much coverage you want. It really depends how dry your skin is. Other than that, go with whatever concealer whose texture and shade you like best! We recommend moisturizing first, and using a primer can help, too. Applying a few drops of face oil and/or a gentle moisturizer such as the Curology moisturizer may be all the base you need for a minimal-effort way to conceal any of your skin’s unique quirks.

Concealers for oily skin

Opt for an oil-free concealer with a matte finish, such as Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Concealer. If your skin’s oiliness is cramping your style, you can top off your makeup with Colorescience SUNFORGETTABLE® Total Protection™ Brush-On Shield: a dermatologist-recommended, non-comedogenic powder sunscreen with a subtle tint and lightweight coverage. It comes in both SPF 50 or SPF 30. Or, try a mattifying or “oil control” sunscreen and/or moisturizer underneath your concealer — just make sure it doesn’t have any pore-clogging or irritating ingredients.

Concealers for combination skin

Which concealer will work best for your combo skin depends on which part of your face you’re using it: for example, you may have an oily T-zone but dry skin on the rest of your face. This may be another scenario where you can use whatever non-comedogenic concealer works best for your skin tone, but layer it with another product — moisturizer where you’re dry; mattifier or powder where you’re oily.

Concealers for men with beards

You may want to try a concealer with a thicker texture. Whether that means a thick liquid or rich and creamy concealer is up to your skin type: creamy if you tend to be oily, liquid if you tend to be more dry. Really, whatever concealer works for your skin tone and type (oily, dry, etc.) should work for you! Don’t be afraid to experiment. You can pop into your local store to get hands-on help with the color matching and even testers to take home and try, if you aren’t sure which one will work best for your skin tone.

Concealers for aging skin

One of the main concerns for aging skin is creasing: when makeup such as concealer sinks into fine lines and wrinkles, it can sometimes make them seem more visible! Kinda defeats the purpose, right? If you’re having troubles with concealer creasing, try a non-comedogenic primer. Here are a few options that pass the CosDNA test:

  1. MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Smoothing Primer for Large Pores and Fine Lines

  2. TATCHA The Silk Canvas Protective Primer

  3. TARTE Timeless Smoothing Primer

Curology is for you

In an ideal world, concealer wouldn’t be such a necessity, right? That’s where we come in. Your custom Curology formula treats and prevents acne, hyperpigmentation (those pesky post-acne spots), age spots, fine lines, and more of your (sk)individual quirks. Try it out for a month with a free trial — just sign up at curology.com for your free consultation!

Beauty Review: Clinique Acne Solutions Clear Skin System Starter Kit

I’ve always being a fan of Clinique. In fact, most of the products I use are Clinique and Mary Kay. I do use specific products from other brands and I’ll share those with you in other reviews 😉 but Clinique is king in my beauty routine.

My skin is sensitive and acne-prone in South Florida. I say this because every time I travel to places with less humidity, my skin clears up and lives on moisturizer alone. However, since I live in Miami, Florida I have to take care of my skin differently and prevent blemishes and redness all the time.

Clinique has always been a Godsend gift for me. There is no itchiness, rashes, allergies or anything; Just clean, beautiful and natural looking skin. I’ve used their products for years with excellent results.

Today I want to tell you about their Acne Solutions products. I recently started using them again because my blemishes where getting out of hand during the summer time. It has been about two weeks and I see a big difference. Blemishes are disappearing, I’m starting to love my skin again and most importantly, I’m starting to see the old scars go away.

I bought the Acne Solutions Clear Skin Starter Kit, which only costs $38.00 at Clinique.com. I’ve bought it in the past at Macy’s and Dillard’s.

If you are looking to control your acne, this kit is a great place to start. You don’t have to spend a lot to try the treatment and evaluate if this product is right for you. Once you are sure and you see that it works, you can buy the bigger bottles sold individually or stick to the starter kit (whatever you want!).

The basis of this treatment include three easy steps:

  1. Clean
  2. Exfoliate
  3. Treat

For this you will need the following three products:

  1. Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam 4. 2 oz ($20.00 individual price).
  2. Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion 6.7 oz ($16.00 individual price).
  3. Acne Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment 1.7 oz ($22.00 individual price).

If you decide to buy the starter kit for $38.00, this includes the same products in smaller sizes:

  • Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam, 50 ml
  • Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion, 100 ml
  • Acne Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment, 30 ml

You can buy the kit HERE.

***** This is not a sponsored link. I don’t get ANY commission if you buy this product.*****

When I used this set for the first time a couple of years ago it helped clear my skin, but I experienced a little dryness. However, the new set has not done this to me. The directions say that if you experience dryness or peeling, you can use the All-Over Clearing Treatment (step 3) every other day. That’s what I’ve been doing and my skin has stayed hydrated and plump. If I happen to need a little more moisture, I use the Clinique Dramatically Different Gel (My favorite skincare product in the history of the world) on the days I don’t use the Clearing Treatment and problem solved!

I love this product and I will keep using it because:

  • It works on all skin types.
  • It keeps working as time goes by.
  • It makes my pores look smaller.
  • It’s not irritating.
  • You see results after day 1.
  • I don’t have to pay a monthly subscription. I just buy what I need!
  • It really works!!!

Once your acne goes away, you can go back to your regular skin routine and use Clinique’s set every other day to maintain your skin clear and healthy. That’s what I do. I use Mary Kay TimeWise Miracle Set and Clinique Acne Solutions Clear Skin System Starter Kit every other day.

The Acne Solutions line has other amazing products to complement your skincare routine such as:

  • Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel
  • Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
  • Acne Solutions Oil-Control Cleansing Mask

If you want to take it a step forward, they also have makeup that helps you clear your skin.

  • Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer
  • Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup (I will write a review about this product soon!)
  • Acne Solutions Powder Makeup

As a disclaimer, this is not a sponsored blog post. I regularly use these products and genuinely LOVE them. I hope my experience helps you and if you have any questions, you can always contact me at [email protected]

9 Best Concealers for Oily Skin of All Types

If you have oily skin, chances are you have a few different concerns when it comes to picking a concealer.

Perhaps you want one that combats acne, or one that won’t slide off of your face once your pores inevitably decide to produce an unreasonable amount of oil. Or maybe you’re just looking for one that’s lightweight and won’t clog your pores.

Well, I’ve got you covered with the best concealers for oily skin! Keep reading to discover the perfect option for any skin type.

Best Concealers for Oily Skin

Acne-Fighting Concealers

Salicylic acid is a common ingredient in many skincare products meant for those of us with oily skin, because it gets into the pores and really cleans them out.  Applying salicylic acid to a pimple can dry it out and reduce its size in just a few hours.

So, using a concealer with salicylic acid, can not only reduce the clogging of pores you might experience when using a conventional concealer, but can even steadily improve your acne while you’re wearing it. I’ve rounded up a few fan favorites so you can take your pick:

Clinique Acne Solutions Clearing Concealer

Clinique is a tried-and-true skincare brand, known for many of its acne-fighting products.  If I had to trust a concealer that would deal with my breakouts, it would be this one.

Among its other oil-free and oil-controlling ingredients, salicylic acid stands out as the holy grail acne-fighting superstar.  While the formulation is great, this concealer is pretty pricey, weighing in at about $37.

Clinique Even Better All-Over Concealer + Eraser

($$26)

Clinique has another version of concealer with added salicylic acid, and the addition of brightening Vitamin C, and energizing caffeine.

The Even Better concealer is more full-coverage than it’s Clearing cousin, and costs a whopping ten dollars less!

Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer

When it comes to the best concealer for oily skin, Neutrogena is another trusted skincare brand that has been helping teens get rid of their acne for decades.

This particular concealer is formulated with 2% salicylic acid, which is the same percentage as most acne spot treatments, making it a very effective complexion-clearer-upper.  Best of all – it’s only $10!

Bye Bye Breakout Full-Coverage Concealer

$34

This concealer is slightly different from the previous ones, in that it does not actually include salicylic acid in its formulation.  Instead, it has zinc oxide (which absorbs oil, yay!), kaolin clay (draws out impurities, also yay), witch hazel, tea tree oil, and sulfur (ingredients often used to dry out acne), and AHA/BHA (a gentle exfoliant that helps remove impurities from pores).

This is a great option for those that want to try an alternative to salicylic acid, but to do so, you’re going to have to shell out the big bucks.  This concealer will cost you $34 at Ulta.

Non-slide Concealers for Oily Skin

If you’re struggling with excessive oiliness impacting the retention of your concealer, then might I suggest a nice matte concealer to offset your skin’s natural dewiness?

Choosing a concealer that is long lasting and/or waterproof, in addition to matte, will up your chances of making it through the day without any makeup slippage. However, a word of caution: just because your skin produces a lot of oil, doesn’t mean you should avoid moisturizers at all costs.

As long as you choose non-comedogenic formulations (aka ones that have been proved to not clog pores), you’ll be fine, and your face will feel supple and smooth.  With all of that in mind, here are a few products to check out:

L’Oréal Infallible Glow Concealer

This is a 16-hour lightweight hour concealer that can be used to conceal blemishes or highlight certain features. We love a double-duty product!

Caffeine is included in the formulation, giving your skin a brighter, glowing complexion. And best of all, you can find this for about $10 virtually anywhere that sells makeup!

Dermablend Cover Care Full Coverage Concealer

$28

This lightweight concealer is non-comedogenic, approved for sensitive skin, and has the hydrating ingredient of vegetable glycerin.

It’s also a 24 hour waterproof formula, so this baby’s not going anywhere! It’s in the mid-price range of $28.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Instant Fix Concealer

$30

Another 24 hour concealer, with a twist! This little tube has two different products: Hydra Prep and the concealer.

The Hydra Prep is a non-acnegenic hydrating serum that you can apply underneath your concealer, which is on the other end of the tube. The concealer is medium-coverage with a satin matte finish, perfect for oily skin.

Lightweight Concealers for Oily Skin

For that effortless I-totally-woke-up-like-this-yes-my-skin-always-looks-flawless look, a lightweight concealer does the job admirably.

These concealers can make it feel almost as though you’re not wearing makeup at all, but can still have a drastic effect on hiding any blemishes or brightening dull areas.

They are especially effective when applied after a skincare routine that focuses on clearing up your acne (the less you have to cover, the better these concealers can do their job).  Here are a couple of lightweight champions:

bareMinerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer

$24

If you want a concealer that doesn’t even feel like a concealer, then this is right up your alley.  This is a mix between a concealer and serum, creating a ridiculously lightweight formula that applies effortlessly to both hide imperfections and hydrate your skin.

This sweet, sweet double-duty concealer will cost you a semi-sweet $24.

MAC Studio Fix 24-Hour Smooth Wear Concealer

$24

Who doesn’t love a MAC product?  And this concealer is no exception.

Not only is it a lightweight 24 hour concealer with a matte finish, but it can give you medium or even full coverage, depending on how much you build it up.  And it’s oil-free!  This product will also cost you $24.

Bottom Line

The most important thing to keep in mind, is that even the all-time best concealer for oily skin is no substitute for properly taking care of your skin.

You still need to wash your makeup off every night. Every. Night. Even the nights that you come home from the club at 2am. Even when you’re staying at your boyfriend’s and all you have to work with is some janky body wash and a bar of dove soap you found under the sink. Wash it off.

Ideally, double-cleanse (although if you’re working with body wash and dove soap, I’ll give you a pass on that one). And create (or continue) a skincare routine that focuses on your skin concerns, so that you can focus on letting your true beauty shine through!

90,000 20 best concealers and concealers – Rating 2020 (Top 20)

Traces of fatigue on the face, dark circles under the eyes, redness, pimples and other imperfections that upset a modern woman, helps to neutralize a wonderful cosmetic product – concealer. But in order to make the right choice when buying, it is necessary to take into account all the specific properties of this product.

Criteria for choosing a good concealer

Consistency

There are two types of concealer textures:

  • Paste in a jar, palette or stick.Suitable for retouching freckles, age spots, pimples. It masks obvious flaws well, lasts longer, but differs in a denser coating;
  • creamy tube (sometimes with brush or sponge). Designed to “eliminate” dark circles under the eyes, redness and expression lines. Provides light coverage without weighing down makeup.

Important: Do not confuse concealer with other popular corrective products – concealer and highlighter. Concealer is a very lightweight product that can be used to cover large areas of skin (eg around the eyes, browbone or nose). It brightens the skin slightly, visually smoothes it and is applied over the foundation as the final touch of makeup.

Concealer is also designed to hide skin problems, but it gives a completely opaque coating and is intended for spot application on serious imperfections. The purpose of the corrector is to completely close the defect, often by using different shades of green, blue, orange, etc.It is also, like a concealer, effective for masking irritation and pimples, but it is used on smaller areas of the skin and only before applying foundation, otherwise the concealer will be noticeable on the skin.

Highlighter is able to brighten skin, add radiance and distract attention from problem areas, but does not have a masking effect. However, there are also such tools that combine the properties of different corrective agents, as indicated by the manufacturer in the product description.

Composition

Depending on the composition and effect on the skin, all concealers can be divided into care products (provide masking + nutrition, moisturizing, UV protection) and special (not only mask the flaw, but also fight against its cause). Due to their composition, special concealers are able to lighten age spots and freckles, improve skin blood circulation, smooth mimic wrinkles, etc. The light scattering particles in the formulation enhance the effect of the concealer.

A palette of tones

Different brands can have a wide range of shades, or just a couple of universal tones that adapt to skin color. It is impossible to say what to choose, you need to try. The color of the concealer should match your skin tone, but be half a tone lighter. Yellowish, pinkish, blue and green shades are meant to cover up certain skin imperfections.

Concealer manufacturers: who is better?

Almost all well-known (and not so) cosmetic companies have these small tubes or jars in their assortment.Among luxury and professional concealers (1500-4000 rubles), the best reviews were received by products Shiseido, Clinique, NARS, Estee Lauder, MAC, Yves Saint Laurent and others. These products are distinguished by a particularly comfortable texture, high concealing power and excellent durability.

The mass market does not limit the choice of corrective products for the skin, but, on the contrary, makes it even more diverse. Good universal concealers can be found in brands Max Factor, L’Oréal, Artdeco, Seventeen, Holika Holika, The Saem (price 500-1500 r.), as well as among more budget brands: Catrice, Vivienne Sabo, Art-Visage, Eva Mosaic , etc. (price 150-500 rubles). They provide acceptable concealment of imperfections, but they may not adhere well to the skin, clog in pores, and accentuate wrinkles.

reviews, the best correctors and concealers – Rating 2021

Concealer is a cosmetic product designed to correct imperfections in facial skin, mask dark circles under the eyes, red spots, acne, fine wrinkles, irregularities and age spots.Unlike concealer, it is available in a wide range of colors and has a lighter transparent structure.

The makeup correctors contain special brightening and drying agents, reflective particles and vitamins. There are also antiseptic correctors that have a healing effect, they contain salicylic acid, tea tree oil, sulfur and other components.

Correctors can be of different colors, and each color is able to solve a specific problem.Correctors with a yellow tint are used to mask irritations, acne, red spots, spider veins and bruises under the eyes. The green corrector is able to neutralize the red color. The pink concealer gives a healthy look to gray and dull skin.

Concealer is a cosmetic product actively and successfully used to mask under-eye circles, fine wrinkles, age spots and other problem areas on the skin. In addition, depending on its composition, it can moisturize the skin, mask scars, lighten age spots, fight acne and nourish the skin. But at the same time, concealer is not at all a tonal foundation.

Different concealer formulations may indicate specific product functions. So, a concealer pencil well hides enlarged pores, small pimples, blemishes and wrinkles in the mouth area. Liquid concealer, in turn, is used to mask problem areas near the eyes and lips, and acne practically does not lend itself to its action. A moisturizing concealer in the form of a cream also does not hide pimples from the outer eyes, but it is ideal to cope with wrinkles and bruises in the eye area. The task of the stick concealer is to mask freckles, age spots, redness on the nose, cheeks and chin. A concealer-highlighter is able to hide imperfections of the skin and highlight darkened areas of the skin.

90,000 5 best concealers to hide and heal acne

One of the most hated problems for every girl is acne.

The fight against acne sometimes turns into a real “business of a lifetime”, depriving us of the opportunity to use our favorite cosmetics, eat our favorite foods and even makes us hostage to our own home, from which sometimes there is no desire to leave because of new rashes on our face.

Fortunately, modern cosmetics manufacturers are caring for those undergoing acne treatments or prone to acne breakouts by creating new products for acne-prone skin.

Owners of problem skin – regardless of whether it is oily, combination or dry, should remember the main rules in the selection of a foundation.First of all, it should be free of oils and clog pores. Reviews Concealer CLINIQUE anti-blemish clearing concealer »Our Opinion

Greetings! I was looking for a concealer for a long time, and in one of the stores a consultant praised me for it.I’ll make a reservation right away, I didn’t look at IRec before buying, although I sensed the intuition that it was worth reading more about it .. I took the concealer at random.

The consultant, of course, tried, praised him very much to me – he supposedly works wonders, hides all the flaws, masks and removes acne, moisturizes and protects the skin from environmental hazards. In general, she bribed her … so to speak, she took her bait …. but in reality, everything turned out to be not as fabulous as they wrote ..

What the manufacturer promises:

Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer evenly lays on the skin, instantly conceals acne and redness and lasts throughout the day, while helping to eliminate acne and prevent new breakouts. With it, the skin feels comfortable and looks natural. The Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer is suitable for all skin types and is offered in three skin tones and a special correcting greenish shade that instantly corrects redness of the skin.

About me:

I have combination skin, during periods of exacerbation, rashes occur, which is why I hoped that this concealer would be an assistant in difficult periods and make life easier.

But in reality everything went wrong…

Why did this concealer disappoint me so much?

It is not very well applied and distributed, has some kind of restless heavy texture, no matter how hard you try to distribute it over the skin, it will not work evenly. And dries instantly. Ugly lies on the skin, forming bald spots and stains. The camouflage is absolutely average, nothing extraordinary. Any budget concealer will give such an effect. Regarding the elimination of acne, I don’t see a special effect here either … they pass as always, in 3-4 days, super-speed and instantaneousness are not noticed. It emphasizes redness and peeling, any mimic wrinkles, clogs into folds, and at the end of the day it floats away altogether … a sailboat of hope. The tone is absolutely inappropriate … some kind of rusty, incomprehensibly redhead … I have no idea who this might be suitable for ..

Conclusion: For me, this is an absolute costly uselessness / .. you can’t give in to the persistent persuasion of salesmen-consultants) a means like a suitcase without a handle .. and it’s nauseous to carry, and it’s a pity to throw it away .. all the same, a lot of money has been paid. It is even difficult to imagine where to apply it now… 1 star. As a result, I do not recommend it.
