Hey everybody. Welcome back to this episode of MyxedUpTV. I’m Todd and today we’re going to be talking about dab straws. What are they? Well, most people think when you take a dab that you would need something like a water pipe or rig, something a little bit larger. Dab straws are probably the most efficient and probably the easiest way to dab without having to have all of the extras. I have here in front of you a few different styles of dab straws that we carry and then I’m going to use my own personal dab straw, which is one of the ones I have here to show you exactly how it all works.

A dab straw is basically what it sounds like. It’s similar to a glass tube. One end will be for heating up for your nail where you’ll heat this up and go into a concentrate, and the other end will be in a mouthpiece. At Myxed Up we do have a few different varieties. Our smallest ones are these guys. They’re $12. We do have the next size up in that which is $18 so you can see here, heat up this end with your torch and use this end for your mouthpiece.

The one that I’m going to be using today are these guys here. I prefer these a little bit better. They are a little shorter than the long ones, but a little longer than the short ones, and they are about twice as thick in glass. So I do like these. These ones I believe are a much better dab straw than the smaller ones. But you can use anyone preferred on your price.

So normally with the dab you would heat up a nail and then you would use a tool to place your dab into your nail. Right? On a dab straw, it’s similar, except you don’t need the nail. You don’t need the tool, you don’t need a torch as big. We’re actually just going to be using a small little guy today, and you can dab pretty much out of a lot of different things. So some people like to dab out of their silicone, non stick jars. That’s what I’m going to use today. You could also use glass jars, glass dishes, things like that. That’ll work just great, whatever you’re going to keep your solid concentrates in.

So for those of you that know dabbing, we’re going to be using a solid concentrate. That’s what I have for us to use today. Just a little bit of shatter here and it’s very simple. So as you can see, I have my dab straw on a nice little handy carrying case here. You put it on a lanyard, it could just hang on you. Put it in your pocket. Easy to go. Nice little leather guy. Pull it out. As you can see, this one’s been used a little bit here. This is my own personal one. And so what I’ll do is I’m going to heat the end up with a small torch and then we’re just going to take this little concentrate and we’re going to go down and we’re just going to touch it with your dab straw.

So these are great for on the go. Great for traveling, very affordable, but you don’t get water. So keys to heating this up. Make sure that you’re not heating it up until it’s glowing. If it’s glowing red hot, that’s way too hot. You want to make sure it cools down. With a nice smaller torch you don’t have to take as long. The bigger ones are way too much for the glass and so you definitely don’t want to be using those on your torch, unless you’re good control and you can heat it up very evenly where you’re not heating it up too much. So let’s go ahead and we’ll show you guys how to do this.

So we take our dab straw, take our torch, make sure we got our flame going, and then we’re just going to slowly heat up the end of this torch. Now it doesn’t take too long, it’ll only take maybe ten seconds or so to really get your tip heated up to where you want it to be. I’m going to overheat it a little bit just so you guys can see the glow and that’s what you don’t want to do. As you can see now I’m starting to see just a tad bit of glow on the very end there. It might be a little bit difficult for you guys to see, but it’s starting to glow just a hair. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to stop heating it up. The Evolution of Yocan

Their first product

Yocan has been known for manufacturing great devices for dry herb and wax concentrate consumption. It’s true that the Yocan Evolve vaporizer did not get the praise it deserved from the get go which is understandable since there have been earlier players on the market and it was not easy to penetrate the vape market especially in the United States. The Evolution of The Yocan Evolve

One of their most successful line in the Yocan brand is the family of Yocan Evolve Vaporizers. It has had many iterations through the years, all well received by vaping communities from all parts of the world. The first and the original Yocan Evolve is still in production to this day and brand-new models are still made and manufactured. A proof that even a model made a few years past can still remain relevant until this very day. The first Yocan Evolve Vaporizer showed the public only the basics but was a pretext of what was to come. After its success came forth newer models that not only boasted better technology and larger battery capacities for added power and longevity but also vaporizers that are capable of accommodating multiple varieties of materials. It was an instant success and made the newer models an overnight success.

The Yocan Evolve D was a version of the Evolve model made specifically for dry herb consumption. It was able to vaporize different kinds of herbal and botanical strains while still maintaining a small and sleek appearance. It had a functional mouthpiece as the original Evolve had a functional coil cap. The mouthpiece can be tamped which means that there was no need to stir or to keep on removing and replacing the mouthpiece during sessions. On the other hand, you’ve got the Yocan Evolve C which was made exclusively for thick oils which allows consumers to take on a more viscous type of material that’s known more for its therapeutic and remedial properties unlike herbs that are known more for their psychoactive properties. The Yocan Evolve C was later updated to take in both wax concentrates as well as e-liquids through the use of an interchangeable heating element. And, the beauty of all these models was they can be used interchangeably. It was no sooner that Yocan released one of the most cost-effective units on the market. The Yocan Evolve 3-in-1 vaporizer. It used the same standard battery but had all the attachments from the Evolve D, the Evolve C, and the original Evolve Vaporizer. It allowed consumers to enjoy almost all the available material varieties on the market – all these without having to buy a different vaporizer for each material type. You’re virtually using a single solid battery and changing the heating element as you please. This was an ingenious design since it allowed each material type to have a separate chamber or receptacle of its own. This prevents the materials from mixing with each other as well as from creating residues that will be tougher and harder to remove due to the nature of the mixed material varieties. This design and engineering will later manifest in more recent models in the Evolve line.

After the multi-functional vape trend, Yocan focused their R&D team to a more specialized approach to vaping and consuming particular material types. The wax pen platform was booming at the time and so Yocan sized the opportunity to manufacture devices that are geared towards the optimum means of consuming waxy oil concentrates.

Enter the Plus models

The Plus models are Evolve vaporizers that are upgraded and are enhanced to give way to a certain effect and upshot from consuming a certain material type. The first on the list was the Evolve Plus Vaporizer. I had improved everything from the basic Evolve model and took it to newer and greater heights. As we’ve mentioned earlier, it had a beefy 1100mAh battery, an integrated concentrate container at the bottom and the iconic QDC. Its successor was the meanest and the baddest in the Yocan Evolve line – the Yocan Evolve Plus XL Vaporizer.

The Evolve Plus XL had an improved 1400mAh battery which was carefully selected to supply sufficient power to a whopping atomizer that was built with 4 quartz rods wrapped in premium coils. Instead of having a standard two rods wrapped in coils Yocan decided to take it to a whole new level. It brought vaping to a level where it feels like it’s kind of overdone. However, advanced users and veteran vapers who have built stronger tolerance through experience preferred the Evolve Plus XL’s knock off your socks experience. It easily amplifies the potency of your select wax concentrates as the higher the temperature wax is subjected to; the more cannabinoids are produced and are extracted into the vapor. Since the Yocan Evolve Plus XL is highly capable of achieving high temperatures quickly, it can easily give you hard-hitting vapors in a matter of seconds. It was considered by many as a real hard-hitter.

The latest iteration of the Evolve model was yet to be its culmination in terms of design and technology. The Evolve 2.0 is a combination of what was the best in the wax pen platform and a new and upcoming platform, pod-based vaporizers. It also employs the same idea the Yocan Evolve 3-in-1 had and transformed it into a pod-based system. The Evolve 2.0 is basically a vape pen that uses pods for different extracts.

Patented Products

Yocan has gained several patented technologies though the years. One of the first of several original ideas from Yocan was the Evolve Plus Vaporizer. The quartz dual coils (QDC) or dual quartz coil design in the Evolve plus received patent under the number 201620514945.X.

Another device Yocan was able to file patent for was the Pandon. The Yocan Pandon in essence was also running a quad coil but only because it utilized two quartz dual coils on a single unit. This design was patented by Yocan with the patent number 201620697529.8.

Lastly, one of the most iconic vaporizers of this century was designed to combine two of the most important tools in dry herb consumption. A grinder and a vaporizer. The Yocan iShred was patented by Yocan with the number 201621044154.1.

Yocan is backed with a strong team of developers and engineers which was one of the key figures to Yocan’s success.

Yocan in 2019

Yocan never ceases to impress, with a continuous streak of vaping devices and a few more planned ahead, both the brand and the consumers who patronize the brand only have good things ahead of them. As an example, Yocan has already started 2019 with a barrage of vaporizer models geared towards the next generation of vape users. They’ve began with the Yocan Evolve 2.0 and now they’ve upped their game for the first quarter by releasing the Yocan Trio Vaporizer. Instructions on the rules for the collection of biological material for microbiological research

General requirements

  1. Conducting research and collecting material before starting treatment with antibiotics, antiseptics,
    antifungal drugs.
  2. Use of consumables (containers, test tubes, vials with culture media and
    transport systems in test tubes, dry sterile swabs, guide blanks) issued
    laboratory INVITRO.
  3. Correct storage of dispensed transport media (refrigerated) and warming to room temperature
    before use (about 30 minutes).
  4. The correct choice of transport medium for each type of research. Information about the used
    transport media and other consumables, see the “Description of tests” section.
  5. Mandatory labeling of tubes, containers, vials and transport media with the name I.O.,
    date of birth, date and time of taking the material and localization from where the sample was obtained.
  6. When filling out the referral form, fill in all columns, indicating the localization of the material and the number
    test. The information on the form and the material must match, otherwise the material will not be taken into the work.
  7. Compliance with the terms and conditions of storage of samples obtained for research.

RULES FOR COLLECTING FALSE DURING STUDY OF INTESTINAL MICROFLORA (DYSBACTERIOSIS)

  1. All examined patients 1-3 days before sampling should be on a diet that excludes
    foods that enhance fermentation processes in the intestines and lactic acid foods, also alcohol,
    antibiotics and bacterial preparations (containing bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, Escherichia coli, etc. )etc.).
  2. The material is feces after natural bowel movements, which are collected in a clean disposable container with
    screw cap and spoon.
  3. It is not recommended to collect feces from the toilet.
  4. Collect feces on a clean surface, which can be used as a clean new sheet (bag)

STUDY OF FALSE FOR PATHOGENIC AND CONDITIONALLY PATHOGENIC MICROFLORA

  1. Stool sampling should be carried out in the early stages of the disease, while pathogenic microbes are contained in

RECTAL CONTENT RESEARCH

  1. Before taking a smear, a thorough toilet with soap and water is carried out around the anus to
    reducing sample contamination.
  2. Carefully insert the tampon 2.5 cm deep into the anal sphincter and gently rotate it for 10
    seconds to obtain material from the anal folds, after which it is placed in a test tube with a transport medium
    Cary Blair.

    coal.

BILD

  1. Bile is collected by probing in the treatment room separately in portions A, B and C in three sterile
    tubes with tight-fitting lids.

STUDY OF FLUSH WATER, LAVAGE (FROM STOMACH)

  1. The material is collected early in the morning, before meals, while the patient is still in bed.
  2. A naso-gastric tube is inserted through the nose into the stomach.
  3. The stomach is washed with 25-50 ml of chilled distilled water.
  4. Next, the liquid is aspirated and placed in a sterile container. Close the lid tightly.
  5. Carefully follow the rules to remove the probe.
  6. The material can be stored for no more than 2 hours at room temperature and no more than 24 hours at 2-8C.

ABDOMINAL AND PERITONEAL LIQUIDS

  1. A 1-2% iodine solution disinfects the skin in the area of ​​manipulation.

RULES FOR COLLECTING BREAST MILK

  2. Strain the first 5-10 ml into a separate bowl (as this portion of milk is not suitable for research),

  4. Label each container with last name, initials, date of birth on each container
