Salman Khan’s much-loved cross-border drama, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has completed five years of its release. The film, directed by Kabir Khan, was about a golden-hearted Indian man, who risks his life to take a young mute Pakistani girl back to her homeland to reunite her with her family. The film was a huge hit at the box office, going on to collect more than Rs 320 crore in its lifetime run. On the other hand, it had garnered rave reviews from film critics, a rarity for a Salman Khan-starrer. Even after half a decade of its release, the film continues to be celebrated.

But do you know Bajrangi Bhaijaan shares a connection with the highly adored Baahubali series?  Surprised? Well, the writer of both the films is one man and he is none other than KV Vijayendra Prasad. The veteran screenwriter-director is the father of Baahubali director SS Rajamouli and has mainly worked in Telugu cinema. He has written the story of most of Rajamouli’s films including Magadheera (2009) and the upcoming RRR. Mr Prasad also wrote the screenplay of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019).

Another interesting fact is that Baahubali: The Beginning and Bajrangi Bhaijaan had released at a gap of one week from each other. While the former had hit the screens on July 10, 2015, the latter had come out on July 17, 2015.
