      Tabs and indications for their installation

      Inlays are microprostheses designed to restore the functional and aesthetic characteristics of the tooth.They are used in case of severe destruction of the crown part of the tooth, which cannot be compensated for by the installation of a conventional filling. To do this, an impression is taken from a tooth prepared for an inlay (onlay), according to which an orthopedic structure is made in a laboratory to replace the lost hard tooth tissues.

      Readings

      The inlay is placed on the tooth in case:

      • the presence of a large carious cavity, which occupies more than 40% of the area of hard tooth tissues;
      • increased tooth wear;
      • 90,049 bruxism;

      • the need to strengthen the supporting tooth for the prosthesis.

      Views

      Depending on the functional purpose of the product, there are tabs:

      1. restorative : used for the restoration of the surface of the chewing teeth. They provide complete sealing, since they are made by a laboratory method according to individual impressions. Effectively restore the functionality of the damaged unit of the dentition;
      2. stump : used in case of severe destruction of the coronal part of the tooth, even when there is practically nothing left of it.Their feature is the presence of a supporting part (stump), which is fixed at the root. Such tabs can be cast monolithic and collapsible.

      Various materials can be used for the production of inlays:

      • metal alloys;
      • ceramics;
      • zirconium dioxide.

      This affects the service life of the product as well as its aesthetic characteristics. Zirconia inlays are considered the most preferred option.

      Benefits

      Compared to conventional fillings, inlays have a number of advantages:

      • no need for repair and replacement;
      • the ability to restore a tooth with almost complete destruction of its crown part;
      • do not shrink;
      • resistant to wear and deformation;
      • does not require strong grinding of healthy tooth tissues;
      • reduce the risk of developing secondary caries, since they are completely sealed;
      • are resistant to dyes;
      • the ability to withstand increased loads on the dental unit.

      Lifetime

      Subject to all the technical nuances of the installation and manufacture of the inlay, the product is guaranteed to last 10-12 years. This is a reliable and affordable way to restore a severely damaged tooth with full restoration of its anatomical, functional and aesthetic characteristics.
