2Ne1 2021 concert: 2NE1 Tickets, 2021 Concert Tour Dates

2NE1 Tickets, 2021 Concert Tour Dates

2NE1 – An HONEST Review!

Prudendial Center – Newark

Let me start out by saying that I am a HUGE fan of 2NE1 and when I heard they were going to be performing in the US, I knew i HAD to be there, no matter what. Luckily, the lovely ladies had their first ever US concert right next door in Newark, NJ and I only had to take a short ride on the PATH Train to get there! Lucky Me!
Now, the concert itself was amazing. I literally had tears in my eyes when they hit the stage because I was so overwhelmed and excited to actually be seeing Bom, Minzy, Dara and CL in the flesh, right before my eyes. The stage was cool, the lighting was great and the video screen projections complimented each song well. Speaking of each song, they literally sang every song from both mini albums and the full length album except for 2… and 1 of those two songs (I’m Busy) was played (but not performed live) during a video interlude which gave a peek of the girls running backstage and changing outfits for the next song. The girls were everything I could have expected and more… CL’s stage presence is other worldly, Minzy’s dancing is spectacular, Dara simply fascinates me and Bom’s voice is spectacular. So why am I giving this concert, which truly felt like a once in a lifetime special event, only 4 out of 5 stars???? Well, there were quite a few “issues”, technical or otherwise with the Newark show. There are as follows:
As many have stated, we had to wait outside nearly 2 hours past the posted start time of the concert for whatever technical reason that was going on inside. This became very frustrating, very quickly, as nobody (not even security) had any specific answers (or even non specific) as to why we were kept standing outside for what felt like forever. Now, during the concert, CL did apologize and thank us for being so patient which was very sweet, in my opinion, which showed that they cared about their fans.
Second, after all of the waiting, there were still some technical flubs during the show. Bom couldn’t quickly pull the cover off of her solo set piece to reveal the dancers in the drum, leaving her standing on the side of the stage tugging at this giant sheet making her look kind of foolish. I’ve seen the same thing happen in YouTube videos at the Korea shows and as i chuckled, wondered why they haven’t found an easier way to get that cover off or at least practiced the correct way to easily pull the cover off. Next, one of the “bubble boy’s” bubbles didn’t inflate during “Pretty Boy”, so we had one Bubble Boy walking around the catwalk in his bubble and one standing in the back of the stage looking stupid with a heap of deflated plastic over and around him! Lastly, as far as technical difficulties, non of the large blow up pieces inflated at the end of the concert. so there was no giant tube of lipstick, diamond ring, pearl necklace, etc and the stage hands just pulled the screens back together and all of the screens displayed a gold shimmering image.
My final, HUGE, complaint for the 2NE1 concert in Newark, NJ, was that there was absolutely NO MERCHANDISE for sale!!! Were they serious?!?!? I had brought an extra $250 with me SPECIFICALLY for merchandise! I wanted my official 2NE1 light stick (which the VIP ticket holders did receive as part of their ticket package) and a few t-shirts and whatever other merchandise they had for sale, but no, there was absolutely NO merchandise for sale. None. Zip. Zilch. Zero. NOTHING. That really disappointed me!

So, the 2 hours of waiting, technical difficulties during the show and the fact that there was NO merchandise for sale has forced me to give what was indeed a spectacular concert only 4 out of 5 stars.

BIGBANG comeback

BIGBANG last released ‘Flower Road’ as a goodbye song to fans in 2018 before the members enlisted for the military. Later it was reported that the YG Entertainment group will be performing for Coachella in 2020 but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the plans did not substantiate. The existing four members of BIGBANG including T.O.P. Taeyang, G-Dragon and Daesung have all renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment and fans believe that it is about time that the group makes a comeback. G-Dragon in the Dazed interview hinted at the possibility, saying he has been spending a lot of time making music and also writing lyrics for BIGBANG.

‘Kings and Queens of K-pop are coming’

With a SHINee and Super Junior comeback, 2021 has been already nostalgic for the K-pop community. With BIGBANG and 2NE1, the circle will be complete, fans declared taking to social media to share their joy over the news. A fan said, “GD is working for bigbang’s new song, Bom said 2ne1 is recording something and EXO will be having a comeback soon.. BIGBANG, 2NE1 & EXO! Concert Review: 2NE1 unleash their girl power onstage, Entertainment News & Top Stories

Hyped after attending a high octane concert by K-pop girl group 2NE1, my female friend remarked: “These girls make me feel good about myself.”

The sassy lasses pride themselves as being fierce, independent women, the antithesis of typical K-pop girl groups, who often pander to male fans by acting cute or turning up their sex appeal.

2NE1 have even earned themselves the nicknames of “scary unnis” (unnis means older sister in Korean) in their home country.

That girl power was reflected in their energetic two-hour performance at their sophomore full-length concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, two years (2012) after their first world tour stop at the same venue.

Powering through a 21-song setlist, the quartet sang about female empowerment in upbeat song Go Away, oozed confidence in catchy dance number I Am The Best and boosted self-esteem among the audience with the heartfelt song Ugly.

Before launching into the fist-pumping track Ugly, member Dara sent out an encouraging message to the audience in English: “Sometimes you might feel ugly -inside and outside. But don’t worry we all feel like that sometimes.”

As the face of the group, it’s hard to imagine when the doe-eyed beauty would feel ugly.

While telling guys to man up in the lyrics of Pretty Boy, the four women – CL (Lee Chaerin), 23; Bom (Park Bom), 30; Dara (Sandara Park), 29; and Minzy (Gong Minji), 20, donned red-sequined military inspired outfits and toted pink guns that shot laser lights.

The girly colour pink was picked as an ironic ode to their fierce image, a concept that had to be explained in a behind-the-scenes video shown later during the show.

A more blatant showcase of their female prowess was displayed in the midst of the hit song I Love You, when four Singaporean men picked from the audience were escorted onstage.

The women took control of their “hostages”, sat them on chairs and proceeded to give the awkward men, who sat ramrod straight in their seats, lap dances. The daring moves ranged from Dara straddling the guy to CL hooking her leg onto another fan’s shoulder.

Some naysayers argue that the bold, feminist image is a manufactured product straight out of a K-pop star making factory.

But it works and appeals to men and women fans alike. Women fans outnumbered the men in the 7,500-strong crowd at the stadium.

The empowering message aside, the singers do have the vocals, and showcased them during the acoustic rendition Come Back Home and the ballad Missing You.

The vocal prowess of leader CL and powerhouse singer Bom come as no surprise. It was refreshing to hear the low-profile Minzy, who is better known for her dance grooves, belt out in her rich tones.

The pretty member Dara could hold a tune with her saccharine sweet voice, but it’s clear she’s there to serve as the eye candy.

As there was no guest star, audiences had to be kept entertained with videos projected on the big screen.

One of them was a lengthyvideo that replayed concert scenes from other stops.

But the point of a concert is to see live action onstage. So perhaps the regal queens of K-pop could command their distractingly good-looking all-male dance crew to fill in for them next time.

The reunion of the legendary 2NE1 girlgroup is fixed

BlackJacks, please be prepared for this special day!

2NE1‘s breakup in late 2016 left a lot of regret for the group’s fans as well as K-pop fans. Over two years, BlackJacks (2NE1’s fandom) have longed to see the four of them reunite like SES, Shinwa, Sechskies, etc. On December 3rd, 2NE1 will perform together on Minzy’s concert in New York City.

Last month, Minzy announced her first solo tour called “Dance Break” in the United States and Canada later this year.

In particular, in the detailed schedule, her New York performance made the BlackJacks extremely excited when the name 2NE1 appeared.

A few days before this official news, fans somehow guessed when, in the exclusive interview with Allkpop, Minzy coaxed about the reunion of 2NE1 and confirmed: “That day will surely come”. Then, Spotify and the official facebook page that had been inactive for two years also unexpectedly added an event called Minzy (the former 2NE1 member) with the location of New York. In addition, the online ads in the United States also mention the appearance of 2NE1 in the country, making BlackJacks hope for reunion more than ever.

Minzy’s concert is currently being featured in the 2NE1 facebook event.

Also spotify of the group also has the appearance of this special item.

So after more than two years since Minzy left the group and 2NE1 officially disbanded, Kpop fans will be able to witness the legendary girlgroup’s burning stage with their top performances. While waiting for that special day, let’s look at the group’s hit singles:

Fire – 2NE1’s debut song.

I Am The Best – the biggest hit in the girls’ career.

Come Back Home – the tiltle track in the “Crush” album, released before they disbanded.

MAMA 2015 – the last stage where all 4 members perform under the name 2NE1.

Goodbye – The song was released after the break up as an apology and thanks to the fans with the participation of CL, Park Bom, and Dara

2NE1 triumph in year’s most thrilling concert

The K-pop girl group 2NE1 are often called Korea’s TLC. In Sunday’s concert, however, the four Korean girls showed not only can they match America’s hottest female act of the ’90s but even better them onstage.

They aptly began the show with the thrilling club-banger “I Am the Best,” which the group sang again as the final encore of the two-hour set. And what came in between proved that bold claim.

Though they made their debut in the summer of 2009 as the “female Bigbang” their show was superior to their label-mates’ performance earlier this year.

Seoul’s Olympic Gymnastics Stadium, the city’s largest indoor arena, was slightly below full capacity, with some of the most affordable seats empty but that did not deter 2NE1 from bringing their best.

The choreography, upgraded by one of the industry’s best, Travis Payne, was flawless and their pipes were in top shape despite the intricate dance moves.

More often than not, the strength of their voices made pre-recorded tracks meaningless, at times even overpowering the back-up band. The level of energy, even on this second consecutive night, did not diminish at all until the end.

While all four were formidable, Minzy, the youngest of the group at 18, was the star on Sunday. She came close to stealing the show, with all eyes drawn to her movements and her voice the strongest of the night. If she was until now in the shadows of her older colleagues — she frequently keeps silence in interviews and other public appearances — this concert proved she is second to none.

Their biggest hits such as “Ugly” and “Go Away” may have been crowd-pleasers, yet there was much pleasure in rediscovering the smaller hits of the group that musical director Divinity Roxx and her band re-arranged for great impact.

The best of them was the free-wheeling duet between CL and Minzy “Please Don’t Go,” sung on a virtual rollercoaster.

The production was consistently excellent — even more creative than Lady Gaga’s latest tour. There was always something happening: colorful lights, pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art video programming by Possible Productions, or all of them at once.

The only noticeable blunder was the wardrobe by Jeremy Scott. Many of the creations were neither forward-looking nor flattering. Some, especially the light-brown dresses that looked like recycled drapes and Bom’s amoeba-patterned outfit during her solo segment, were plain ugly.

As the evening progressed, one could not help but be struck by the number of hits the girls have racked up in just three years — they sang 21 original songs.

For an audience so accustomed to their discography, however, it felt slightly cluttered.

Next time, at least for Korean spectators, they would be better advised to cut down on the number of tracks and give every segment the attention it deserves — with extensive re-arrangements and remixes. “I Love You,” the latest single, is a masterpiece, and despite a slight remix still felt too short.

“2NE1 Global Tour: New Evolution” proceeds to the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. and Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater later this month, before they fly back across the Pacific for several dates in Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama and Saitama, Japan. Other cities will be added in the near future, YG Entertainment said.

90,000 2NE1 is . .. What is 2NE1?

2NE1 (short 투 애니원, tuaeniwon , t’uaeniwŏn ; pronounced “to anyone” / tuː ‘ænɪwʌn / or “twenty-one” /’ twɛntɪ wʌn / [1] 2] ) is a South Korean hip-hop / pop group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The band’s name is an acronym for “New Evolution of the 21st Century” [3] . Which means – “New evolution of the 21st century.”
There are four girls in 2NE1: Park Bom Lee (lead vocals), Park Sandara (vocals, rap), Lee Cherin (CL (pron./ siː ɛl /)) (vocals, rap, leader) and Gong Minzy (vocals, rap).
The official fanclub of 2NE1 is called Blackjack.

History

The group was first mentioned in the press in 2008. Company spokesman Yang Hyun Suk in the same year on April 30 in an interview with a media outlet said, “Around the beginning of July, YG Entertainment prepared an official debut for the girl group of three.” “The new group will have three members: Park Bom, Gong Min Ji (granddaughter of Korean dancer Gong Ok Ji) and CL “ [4] . For them, they created an image that is different from the image of the existing girl groups, as this is the female version of Big Bang. YG Entertainment later announced that the group would have four members (plus Park Sandara) and would debut sometime in May 2009. The group trained for 4 years and their debut album will contain songs produced by 1TYM leader Teddy Park. The group’s name was originally announced as “21”, however, due to the fact that there was already an artist with the same name, the group was quickly renamed to “2NE1”. [5]

2009: Debut

The song “Lollipop” was released on March 27, 2009, in collaboration with Big Bang. The song was created to advertise LG Cyon phones. The ad and video were published on March 28 of the same year [6] . “Lollipop” topped the Mnet (Music Television Network) online chart for four consecutive weeks [7] .

YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk announced that the debut song will be released in reggae / hip-hop style on May 9, 2009. Their debut single “Fire” is written by Teddy Pak, who is also a producer. On May 1 of the same year, only one 20-second clip was published on the official website. The video has two versions “Space” and “Street”, first released on May 6th. The video is viewed over a million times a day. On May 17, 2009, the group debuted the single “Fire” on the SBS program “Inkigayo” (South Korea Central Channel) [8] .
At the Cyworld Digital Music Awards, Lollipop and Fire won the Song of the Month award, and the band won the Rookie of the Year nomination.

2010: “To Anyone”

On February 9th, 2010, without prior notice, “Follow Me” (Korean: “날 따라 해 봐요”, “Nal ddara haebwayo”) was released and was used as the theme song for the Samsung Corby Folder. In the summer of that year, 2NE1 traveled to Los Angeles and London to record English songs for a possible American debut with Will.I.Am (member of The Black Eyed Peas). We recorded 10 tracks. YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk stated that the girls were planning to debut in 2011 or early 2012, following The Black Eyed Peas’ world tour and 2NE1’s own activities in Korea and Japan [9] .

The first studio album, To Anyone , was released on September 9, 2010 and was a huge success [10] . The album contains 12 tracks, including three title songs, namely “Clap Your Hands” (Korean: “박수 쳐”), “Go Away” and “Can’t Nobody”, which were all nominated at the same time. 2NE1 took first place on Mnet M Countdown! with the song “Clap Your Hands” then “Go Away” won the K-Chart on KBS Music Bank and Mutizen the next day after their return to SBS’s “Inkigayo” with “Can’t Nobody”.Overall, 2NE1 has won first place eleven times on various music shows [11] .

On October 21, Yang Hyun Suk announced that 2NE1 would release the song on October 31, later revealed to be “It Hurts (Slow)” (Korean: “아파”). The clip was released on November 1st and featured Halloween theme [12] .

On October 28, it was announced that 2NE1’s official label in Japan would be Avex, and that To Anyone would be released in Japan on December 8, 2010. However, the release was postponed indefinitely [13] .Also, To Anyone was released in Thailand on October 28, 2010 [14] . On November 26, 2NE1 released the single “Don’t Stop The Music” as a “special gift for Thai fans” [15] .

2011: Debut in Japan

At the end of 2011, the group won the Best Newcomer award at the annual Japan Record Awards.
